Hapless Hal Gets Humped: Charles Stahlman Misleads State Troopers – Hal Gets Case

Hal Warner Embarrassing Ravena

The whacko counterfeit money handler Charles “Chuck” Stahlman is on the streets and has too much time on his psycho hands. He’s so annoyed the New York State Police that they had to serve a bogus complaint on a local businessman who told Chucky (no not the horror doll, the real local horror star) to get off his property. Stahlman claims that he was harassed and demanded that the State Police take his complaint – Stahlman threatened that he would go to the NY State Police Commandant if they didn’t — so the courageous, brave, public servants got cold feet and served the business man with the bogus complaint. And Hapless Ham-hand Hal Warner allowed it. Now, people, shouldn’t we expect a higher standard of conduct from our courts? And why do our law enforcement professionals have to be the henchmen for a psychopath? It’s a slap in the face to make our troopers take such abuse from pschos, especially given the New Scotland State Police Station’s past experiences with Charles “Chucky” Stahlman, Stahlman’s wife, and his “fragile” (that’s how Chuck Stahlman describes his son, “fragile“) son, Zachary Stahlman. Given the Stahlmans’ past history with the local business and Chuck Stahlman’s record, law enforcement should have some discretionary authority, that is, the ability to tell scoundrels like Stahlman to take a walk.

Chucky Gonna Gitcha!
Chuck Stahlman on the Prowl.

Question: How can you harass someone who voluntarily trespasses on your own property, by telling him to leave? How can you harass someone who knows he shouldn’t be on the property but trespasses and then taunts the owner? Who’s doing the harassment, anyway? This is very, very strange.

Stahlman Playing the Police for Fools [AGAIN]; Hapless Hal Warner Gets the Booty-Banger

In Brief: Neither the New York State Troopers nor the Village of Ravena Court know where they are at any given time. First of all, the NYS Trooper filling out the Information (the document showing the details of the complaint) didn’t know where he was. Trooper David Cross thought he was in the Village of Ravena when he was in the Town of Coeymans. The location of the incident was in the Town of Coeymans, outside the jurisdiction of the Village of Ravena. The document prepared by the Trooper is worthless! Even worse, the summons was issued by acting Ravena Village Justice Charles Brooks. Wouldn’t you expect a sitting village justice to know what’s in his jurisdiction and what’s not? Well not in Ravena! Then we have good ol’ Hapless Hal Warner, a resident of Ravena and a village justice for almost 10 years and he doesn’t even know where the village starts and where it ends!!! His wife, Nancy Warner, has been a village council member for at least 10 years. We won’t even mention the Albany County DA David Soares‘ mealy-mouthed gopher assistant, Rat-boy Stephen T. Lydon, who was “ready for trialbut in the wrong jurisdiction. Local justice in action. You can’t make this stuff up! You have to wonder from whose pubic mound these local lice were plucked!

Back to superpsycho Stahlman. Stahlman comes into the picture when sonny boy Zachary Stahlman leased some premises from the business for a flea market,  an off-shoot of Chuck Stahlman’s so-called “antique” (= used junk) business, Fat Cat Antiques (Fat Cat Transport). The younger Stahlman subsequently broke the lease and lied his way through the small claims hearing when he demanded his security deposit to be refunded. Crackpot New Baltimore Town Justice Lee Davis, a loser and one-termer, who couldn’t read his way out of wet toilet paper, let alone a commercial lease, awarded Stahlman the security deposit. Stahlman later retained loser-lawyer, Brendan Baynes, to represent him to collect unlawful interest on the security deposit, and Baynes, idiot that he is, filed papers telling Greene County Judge and former D.A., Terry Wilhelm, that he made a mistake and didn’t know the law. Wilhelm wasted no time in putting Baynes in his place and telling Stahlman to take a walk, and denied the petition. Stahlman’s greed and little brain fart must have cost Stahlman a bundle and really pissed him off. Baynes, of course, got his fees.

Zachary C. Stahlman. Chucky Stahlman’s “fragile” son; the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, does it?

[Editor’s Note: There is some unconfirmed information that Stahlman was allegedly involved in a firearm incident involving someone he had a dispute with. The details are still unconfirmed and vague but there is a disturbing similarity of the alleged incident with that of a recent driveby shooting involving a local business who also  had dealings with Stahlman.]

The law requires that all parties to a legal action be served with any papers relating to the action. The Landlord and local businessman, in compliance with the law, served Stahlman with the papers objecting to Stahlman’s demand for interest. Stahlman and cow wifely Stahlman promptly rushed to the New Scotland State Police station and demanded that the business man be arrested for harassment, that is, complying with the law and ensuring that Stahlman was aware of what was going on.

The Station Commander correctly informed Stahlman that there was no harassment and that the law required that he be served. The Station Commander even printed out the law so Stahlman could see for himself. Stahlman still raised an uproar and had to leave the station.

No wrong-doing on the part of the NYSP! They’re on the level, as always!
Thanks to NYSP New Scotland Station Commander, SGT Michael Mullaney

Several weeks ago, during an auction on the former landlord’s property and place of business, the landlord couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw “someone who looked like Charles “Chuck” Stahlman carrying goods on the property.” The businessman couldn’t believe that Stahlman would set foot on the property and was amazed when Stahlman greets him by name. The landlord asks the auctioneer if the guy is Stahlman and the auctioneer confirms. It appears that Stahlman approached the auctioneer and asked if he needed any help moving merchandise and the auctioneer, not knowing who he was, accepted the offer. When the businessman asked the auctioneer if he hired Stahlman or even knew him, the auctioneer denied both and allegedly replied, “He offered to carry stuff.”

The businessman ordered Stahlman off the property. Stahlman promptly went to the State Police and demanded that a complaint for harassment be taken and served on the businessman. For some crazy reason, the responding trooper took the complaint and served the businessman after being threatened with retaliation to the NYSP Commandant.

[Editor’s Note: If the NY State Police had any sense at all, they’d be charging Chucky Stahlman with filing a false instrument, lying to a law enforcement officer, harassment, and perjury!!! It seems to us that it’s Stahlman who’s doing the harassing, not the businessman. What do you think?]

What’s even crazier is that the responding trooper — even if he didn’t know he wasn’t in the Village of Ravena — apparently knew of Stahlman, knew of Stahlman’s history, and knew the businessman. What’s going on?

It gets even more bizarre. You see, the alleged incident happened in the Town of Coeymans, but the trooper filled out the summons with an appearance in Ravena Village Court. Isn’t there a jurisdiction problem here? Why wouldn’t a state trooper know to put in the correct jurisdiction?

Back in about 2010 Warner Dismissed Dolan’s Speeding Ticket on Jurisdictional Grounds

Back in about 2010 (we’re verifying the date), Hal Warner dismissed a speeding ticket for buddy Tom Dolan. The ticket was issued in the Town of Coeymans but the appearance venue was Ravena Village Court. Warner dismissed Dolan’s speeding on juridictional grounds (the violation was in the jurisdiction of the Town of Coeymans, not the Village of Ravena. Ravena had no business hearing the case.) In another instance where leadfoot Dolan got another speeding ticked, then village attorney Greg Teresi advised that it be reduced to a parking ticket to avoid having to dismiss on jurisdictional grounds; it apparently was getting to risky. It appears even back then Warner was aware he couldn’t hear a case from Coeymans jurisdiction; he’s a village justice with jurisdiction only for the territory of Ravena. Dolan had to revert to corrupt town justice Phil Crandall to get his other tickets to disappear. (Personal communication; Source: Tom Dolan, Board Member, Town of Coeymans)

Well, it so happens that the businessman is allegedly family to one of Hal Warner’s arch-critics, the notorious Blogger! (We say allegedly because no one really knows who the Blogger is, do they Hal?) The Blogger’s no admirer of Ravena wannabe mayorette Nancy Warner, a sitting Ravena trustee (council member), and Hapless Hal’s wife. Is there a picture of corruption taking shape here? How about potential retaliation? Or is it just me?

So, we composed a little skit on this incident:

Ham-hand Hal Gets Humped

A very short drama by The Blogger

Characters:
Court Officer
Ham-hand Hapless Hal Warner, the Defendant
Judge (a real one)
Nookie-Nancy Warner, Hapless Hal’s Keeper
Stephen T. Lydon, Albany County Assistant D.A. (David Soares)

Hapless Hal Warner, you’re an idiot! You Dirty Dunce!

Court Officer:     Order in the Court! Defendant please rise, state your name, and occupation!

Defendant:          Ham-hand Hal Warner,  “Hapless Hal,”  sir. Ravena Village Justice Court, Nancy’s hapless henchman.

Judge:   Well, Ham-hand,  Hapless, Hal, whatever your name is, you are being charged with violation of the New York State Judicial Law and the Code of Judicial Conduct. How do you plead, Hapless Hal?

Hapless Hal:        Uh! Yer honorableness. Can you repeat the charge. I have to look it up.

Judge:   Ham-hand, you hapless incompetent, all I want from you now is how do you plead? Guilty or not guilty?

Hapless Hal:        Not guilty, your honorary-ness.

Judge:   You are pleading not guilty to criminal retaliation and abuse of judicial office by not recusing yourself, and hearing a case involving a person known to you as possibly being related to your arch-enemy, The Blogger. Is that correct, Hapless Hal? Furthermore, you Gay Goose, you don’t even know your own jurisdiction! Don’t you know where your village boundaries are?

big silly goose

Hapless Hal:        Uh! No, your venerability. Yer right. I didn’t recuse myself and I did hear the case. I though he was related to that nasty Blogger, and I couldn’t get my hands on the Blogger so I settled for him. Any village or town justice would have done the same thing, wouldn’t he, yer holiness?

Judge:   Hapless Hal Warner, you’re an idiot! We’ll do the Ravena Village Court thing and just find you guilty as charged. You should have recused yourself and stayed out of judicial hot water. Hang up your robes, you Dirty Dunce!

Hapless Hal:        But Coeymans Court would have done the same thing. They hate the Blogger, too. Besides, they elect disgraced judges to be Town Supervisor. Phil Crandall liked to do his friends favors. I just wanted to make Nancy happy. She hates the Blogger too, and would do anything – and expects me to do anything – to get at him. I did it for my wifey Nancy, your venereality.

Judge:   Get this foul-smelling sack of roadkill out of my courtroom! He’s a disgrace to the judiciary; he’s a boil on the ass of society! Besides, I think he’s peed himself.

Nancy Warner: [Wringing her bony wrinkled hands and shedding fake tears, her mascara running down into the shallow cleft of her sinking breasts] Oh, Hal, Honey Ham-hand Hapless Hubby! I’m so proud of you! You never disappoint! You are a model of Ravena corruption, stupidity, and dumb-assitude! Hold on, Hapless, I’ll bring you some fresh Depends®!

Stephen T Lydon, Assistant D.A.: Oh, my! Oh, dear! Oh, Daddy David [Soares], we screwed up again! Is my tail showing? Oh, God, give me some cheese. I need some cheese. I feel so faint.

ratboy

Albany Assistant D.A. Stephen T. Lydon in Ravena Village Court

[Court officer forcibly removes the screaming, cussing, foaming Hapless Hal Warner from the courtroom, leaving a steaming trail of urine along the way. Nancy Warner follows with a box of Depends®, while Soares’ Ratboy Lydon cringes in a corner nibbling on something (Have you noticed he smells like cheese?). Exeunt stage left.]

All that’s left of Hapless Hal Warner.

Ham-hand Hapless Hal Warner: desecrating the flag.

This may be the moment we’ve all been waiting for. This may be the opportunity to bring old Ham-hand Hal Warner before the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct and force the hapless dunce into resignation and lifetime ban from running for judicial office. Just like he did to his buddy Phil Crandall.

Stahlman: “They keep telling me harassment!”

Editor’s Note: We will be contacting the New York State Police Internal Affairs Bureau, the New York State Police New Scotland Station Commander, the Office of the Albany County District Attorney, and the New York State Committee on Judicial Conduct for more details.

Editor’s Addendum: We have been provided with a request to publish the NYSP, New Scotland Station Commander’s response to an inquiry on this case. Here is the response:

When a complainant comes to us with a Violation level (not a Misdemeanor or Felony) complaint, we can’t make an arrest unless it occurred in our presence.  In this case, the Trooper takes the complaint and gives it to the judge (in this case, Ravena).  The judge makes the determination if there is enough there to issue a criminal summons.  There judge did here.  He/She issues a criminal summons to get the other party back to court.  This is a Violation level offense, not a crime.  Regardless of how we feel about the complainant, we have no choice but to proceed like we did.  I hope I explained what we did.  If you have more questions, feel free to contact me.

If that’s the case, then the New York State Police, at least the New Scotland Station, deserve our thanks and support. There is no wrong-doing or misconduct on their part. As usual, the misconduct and wrongdoing lies with the psychos in our midst and the incompetent local hill-town courts. Thank you, SGT Mullaney, for this useful information!

Bottom-Feeder Planet Fitness Violates Protected Rights!!! Another Report.

“WE’RE GOING AFTER THE 80% OF THE POPULATION* THAT DOESN’T HAVE A GYM MEMBERSHIP”
CHRIS RONDEAU
Planet Fitness CEO

You may not know it but you’ve become a target for the fitness scam of the century, PLANET FITLESS.

It’s all about the money of selling memberships; nothing about you or your fitness!

Thumbs down AGAIN for Plantet Fitness in Glenmont.

We recently published a scathing article on the Planet Fitness franchise, particularly one local facility in Glenmont, New York. Our research actually showed that what we reported about the Glenmont facility is epidemic in most Planet Fitness locations. It seems it’s a corporate characteristic: incompetent management and staff, poor maintenance, and the majority of members are really not what you want to work out with.

The only judgment-free we can find is that it is free of any good judgment.

We have received another serious complaint about Planet Fitness operations, this one points to serious violations of rights guaranteed and protected by the United States Constitution, that is, freedom of speech and opinion. Seems that if someone at the front desk not doing their job but listening to private conversations can go to management who, without due process of any kind such as discussing a possible problem, simply disciplines a member by terminating their membership. No questions asked. Now that’s Planet Fitness customer care. As we’ve already reported, Planet Fitness is a bottom-feeder among fitness clubs, and is really going to hell in a hand basket if recent observations and reports are accurate. Judging by this contributor’s letter, it’s only getting worse.

Now Planet Fitness staff are eroding protected rights like free speech, and they’re doing it in a discriminatory way without any notion of fairness or due process. If you’re Mr Nice Guy, you’ll be the first to go because you won’t beat the crap out of the [redacted] manager or his [redacted] staff. Right Daniel Boughton.

Planet Fitness – The Constitution-free Zone

Here’s what we just received (it’s a bit long but we thought it was worth reprinting in its entirety):

Dear Smalbany Editor:

Let me start out by saying that I am not easily impressed or shocked. In my professional life I have encountered incredible suffering and incredible stupidity and ignorance but, I must admit, just when you think you’ve seen and heard it all, someone comes up with another masterpiece of idiocy.

Well, I do apologize, since I am writing to the Smalbany blog, a remarkable venue of never-ending-exposure of local stupidity and ignorance, and the suffering it causes. I read your blog and sometimes just have to shake my head, roll my eyes, and offer a fervent prayer that my friends and neighbors in the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk communities, and our neighbors in the New Baltimore and Greene County communities, read your stuff and wake up to what’s going on. Before I tell my story, and I hope you will publish it, even if you have to edit some of what I have to say, let me first say Thank you! for your time, energy, interest in our communities, but most of all for your guts in saying what others don’t even dare to think. It’s a terrible shame that our communities have become what they are, and we need people like you and your contributors to help us out of the morass into which we’ve sunken thanks to our apathy and unwillingness to speak up.

Several weeks ago, I read a piece the Smalbany blog published on the Planet Fitness franchise [See our article, “Planet Fitness a.k.a. Planet Failure“. The Editor], and I was appalled at what I read. Appalled because I have personally witnessed and experienced much of what you described. But to think that it is so widespread was what really floored me.

Yes, I am, or was, until today, a so-called Black Card Member. I really don’t know why I stuck with Planet Fitness as long as I had but, like so many of my colleagues and friends who are or were members, the fact that it is the bottom feeder of health and fitness facilities was offset by the fact that it was cheap and was on our way home. Well, that’s what we kept telling ourselves.

The fact is, Planet Fitness is a bottom-feeder. Anyone with any sense will admit that and now that there’s more competition in the Albany area with beautiful new YMCAs in Delmar and Coxsackie, Best Fitness, VENT, and other serous, real gyms and exercise studios, the situation as I have been able to observe over the past couple of years is getting worse at Planet Fitness. Worse in that there seem to be more sociopaths and low-lives than ever. But that may be because Planet Fitness is losing all of their top-shelf members to the YMCAs and to the other, more glamorous competition. So I guess they have to make up for their losses by offering cheaper and cheaper deals and attracting a lower and lower class of member

Your article only scraped the surface of what’s going on at Planet Fitness, though, and you have to be a regular at Planet Fitless to really know how bad it is. Don’t be suckered in by the hype and the marketing garbage. This stuff can’t be made up!

Yes, management, if you can call it management, is substandard. At the Glenmont club the manager is about 30 years old and has been “managing” a PF facility for 12 years. 12 years!!! Doing the same thing, dusting equipment, mopping floors, cleaning out urinals, hiring brainless and immature front-desk personnel, and making lame excuses. Clocks were out for months. Equipment unrepaired for weeks. Urinals not working for weeks. Sink fixtures broken likewise for weeks. But the most irritating experience is the type of people that are becoming the regulars. They have no respect — but what can you expect when the staff has no respect —, no gym etiquette, they’re dirty, and the list goes on.

I’ve recently observed the so-called trainer giving an equipment blitz-tour: a quick explanation of what the piece of equipment is working but I have never seen her tell the new member that after using the eequipment, he or she should wipe it down with a paper towel and some of the sanitizer provided. It’s no wonder that these people use the equipment and leave their residues all over it. They have to be told to wipe off their sweat and dirt but nobody at Planet Fitless tells them!

I’ve also never heard or seen the trainer or any of the other staff telling members to pick up after themselves or to put the weights back where they belong. It’s even more of a mess than what you describe in your article.

Management is incompetent and staff are lazy and indifferent. What’s worse still is that the manager is about as mature as the adolescent minds he hires. I guess it makes him feel more comfortable, sorry soul that he is. I can’t imagine what he thinks of himself but then, it takes all kinds.

Yes, I was shocked today when the Glenmont Planet Fitness manager , Daniel Boughton, called me over as I was leaving the facility. He stood there mumbling a lot of words and I was having trouble discerning what the devil he was going on about. I stopped him and asked, “What is it you’re trying to say?” He responded: “I have to terminate your membership.” To be honest, that wasn’t the worst news I could have been given, since I was only waiting until my current membership ran out and I was going to cancel anyway, investing the money in a YMCA membership, because of the quality of the facilities and the programs. No big deal. He’s terminating my membership so now I don’t have to wait. OK.

But curious me, I had to go one step further and asked him Why? What he told me hit me like a brick. His reason: “You are continuously using foul language.” Are you kidding me? Do you know who you are talking to? He repeated, “You are continuously using foul language with staff and other members.” News to me!

I couldn’t believe my ears but when he repeated what he had said I knew I had heard correctly.

My initial reaction was to ask “What are you talking about? First of all, I’ve never used foul language with your staff or with other members.” But ‘continuously’? That really bothered me.

Mr. Boughton pointed out that a couple of months ago I approached him in an agitated state because of some dangerous activity in the free-weights area and an abusive member. I did mention to Mr. Boughton that the member told me to “F**k myself and go tell the manager.” I did quote the member and I did tell Mr. Boughton that “I don’t have to put up with that kind of sh*t.” Yes. I was upset because I was fed up with the same old same old and Boughton and his staff just hold a love fest at the front desk ignoring everything.

Today, another member, a workout buddy, and I had a chat about a new member slamming weights and leaving weights all over the place. My buddy had already told the guy to stop dropping the weights and making such noise. [Editor’s Note: PF has what is called a “Lunk Alarm” which is a whistle or a siren that is operated from the front desk when a member makes too much “inappropriate noise” in the “Non-judgement [sic] Zone.” But isn’t that a judgement [sic[? Apparently the front desk attendants were to busy love-festing to push a button.] He also told him to put his weights away after using them. He was ignored and so he went to the front desk to get one of the “attendants” to talk to the guy. At about this time, rather than being told again to “f**k myself” by some lowlife, I approached the front desk and also asked that someone talk to the guy. The attendants looked uneasy but when we insisted, one of them, a kid, left his perch and seemed to go over to the unruly member. At that point I said something like “#*($(&(@#!! retard member and the staff is too.” I was not happy with how the staff member responded; it was as if we were bothering him, making him do his job, the snotty brat. Apparently [redacted] attendant was offended and carried the “story” back to Boughton, who decided that I was abusive and “continuously using foul language with staff and other members.”

PF Has It But Staff is Too Lazy to Push the Button!

So what I got for my years of membership and loyalty is an insult and a termination. Oh! And I got handed a scrap piece of paper with Daniel Boughton’s manager’s name and telephone number. Boughton told me if I wanted to discuss the termination I could call Dan Harms, his boss. No thanks! Dealing with one ding-a-ling is enough for one day. [Editor’s Note: Wise decision. We’ve spoken to both Boughton and Harms; you don’t want too much contact with the brainless; it might be contagious.] Besides, I wouldn’t want to interrupt Mr Harms’ urinal fishing.

That was it. My private remark to a like-minded buddy was enough to get my membership terminated. No discussion, no inquiry. Summary termination. Isn’t that illegal on some planets?

I could go on but what’s the use? Planet Fitness is Planet Fitless. It sells memberships whether you use them or not. New members, short-term widgets get dumped on veterans who know how to work out together and make life miserable before disappearing, paying their $10 and some ridiculous monthly pittance.

Your article was over-the-top right. Everything you wrote is true but in reality it’s actually worse.

At this point, after some 5 years a Planet Fitness member, and getting treated like that by the likes of the Glenmont Planet Fitness staff, I’m grateful for the nudge to move on.

People interested in real fitness and professionally managed facilities, management who cares, and members who care about their club and their health and safety would do well to avoid Planet Fitness. Yes it’s cheap but you get what you pay for. Some people will accept that. People with any self-respect won’t.

[Name Redacted by Smalbany Policy]

P.s. I know you say you don’t publish names but I have no problem with your publishing my name. I don’t really care if Planet Fitness knows who I am. In fact, I know many local people read your blog and at least my friends who read this blog will know why they are not seeing me any more. I’m sure Boughton won’t tell them the truth – he didn’t even tell me the truth. If you publish my letter, let me say Thank you!

Well, that’s another Planet Fitless (we liked that so we’re going to use it) horror story. We’ve edited in some emphasis and some notes and edited out some words but for the most part, we’ve reproduced the letter as sent and received.

Does this sound like a lawsuit in the making to you? We think there’s good lawsuit in this situation and we’ll be happy to research the possibilities for our reader.

There’s a saying that goes “There’s a sucker born every minute.” We guess that at that rate, there will be enough suckers to keep Planet Fitless going for a while but then what? Are you one of those suckers?

EXPOSED AGAIN!

Albany County DA Soares Affirms Double Standard Again: Coeymans Clown Cops OK.

Albany County DA P. David Soares Thinks Coeymans Cops’ Conduct OK.

What about Coeymans Town Supervisor Phil Crandall? What’s he going to do?
And what are Coeymans Town Board Members Daniel Baker, Jim Youmans, Tom Dolan and Ken Burns going to do now? Do they think the Coeymans PD did good?

Acting Coeymans Police Chief Daniel W. Contento responds: “We’re going to use the video as a training video.”

Today’s hot news coming out of Albany County District Attorney P. David Soare’s corrupt offices is that the County’s double-standard will continue as business as usual. There’s one standard for law enforcement personnel and another standard for you and me. One standard for the bullies with guns and another standard for those who they are attempting to take guns away from. Now say you didn’t see this coming.

As of today, April 5, 2018, the Petition demanding that the Coeymans police officers involved in the March 12, 2018, incident at Faith Plaza be disciplined, terminated was 95,365 signatures with more than 12,000 people signing in New York alone! Compare that number with 1 Albany DA, 1 Acting Police Chief, 1 Department of Environmental Conservation Director, and 5 Coeymans town board members. Almost 100,000 people can’t be wrong when it comes to seen the truth in what happened and what needs to be done. Imaging if just 1 out of 10 marched on Coeymans! People of Ravena, Coeymans: Don’t let them get away with this scandal!

Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares (inset) Condones Police Ugly Clown Act.

In a statement issued by Soare’s office with regard to the two Coeymans Police Department personnel who used two Coeymans Police vehicles to harass, abuse, and finally to run over a raccoon in full view of dozens of witnesses at Faith Plaza, Ravena, NY, on March 12, 2018, says that the two jerks who perpetrated the scandalous incident will not face criminal charges.

Coeymans Law Enforcement Team.

According to reports, acting Coeymans police chief, Daniel Contento is really taking the scandal seriously (Ha, Ha, Ha!), and is reported to have said that his Department will “use the video as a training video.” Training video? Training Coeymans cops on how to improve their clown act? Training for whom? If the Coeymans Town Board has any balls, there won’t be a Coeymans Police Department or clown cops to train!!! Eliminate the Coeymans Police Department NOW! They’re useless!

How you treat animals is how you treat other human beings. St Francis of Assisi.

According to the article appearing in the Times Union: and another report by WRGB Channel 6 News:

“Soares’ office said the police lacked equipment such as a catch pole, a net or a tranquilizer gun to deal with animals. Police had previously said they worried that using a firearm to kill the raccoon could jeopardize the lives of people in the shopping plaza where it was found.”

“The officers also faced the possibility of a two-hour wait for a state environmental conservation officer to arrive to deal with the animal.

Editor’s Note: All of what Soares, Crandall, Misuraca, and Contento are saying is pure undiluted bullshit! First of all, the coeymans Police had not only the opportunity to call the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) for capture assistance, they had two, TWO, fire and rescue departments, the Coeymans fire and rescue and the Ravena Fire Department, both or at least one which must or should have animal capture/control equipment on hand. Secondly, we seriously doubt that the Coeymans police put out any call to a local animal control officer in a neighboring community for assistance.

As for a two-hour wait for a response from the DEC, we would like to cite a recent report appearing in the March 28, 2018, Daily News (NY, “Coyote found on mezzanine of New York State Museum released back into the wild” and “Coyote spotted taking a nap on mezzanine at New York State Museum“) , The State (“Coyote found on museum’s outdoor mezzanine released in wild“), US News (“Coyote Found on Museum’s Outdoor Mezzanine Released in Wild“), Fox News (“Coyote found on New York museum’s fourth-floor mezzanine“) and dozens of other news media, which report that the coyote was found sleeping on the premises of the NYS Museum Mezzanine, the DEC was called for assistance, animal control personnel arrived, tranquilized, captured, tested and later released the coyote. What was the major malfunction of the Coeymans Police?

March 27, 2018: A coyote was found on an outdoor mezzanine at a museum in Albany, N.Y.
(New York State Police)

“Based on facts of the event, the conclusion is that the officers did not act with malice or contempt, and acted with the public’s well-being in mind,” the DA’s office wrote in a report released Thursday.”

The whole thing is an ugly bad joke. The police didn’t have the equipment to capture the animal? They didn’t have a catchpole, a tranquilizer gun or a net??? One local taxpayer, Mr D. Boomer, told the Coeymans Town Board that that excuse was ridiculous as did several other speakers. When interviewed by multiple news media and asked what he, Boomer, would have done, Mr Boomer stated, “I would have turned over a shopping cart to capture it.” There were literally dozens of such carts all over the parking lot. Does Albany District Attorney P. David Soares have some peculiar definitions for “malice,” “contempt”? (We realize he’s from some Island, Brava, Cape Verde,  off the coast of West Africa but he is after all a DA in a predominantly English-speaking nation, isn’t he?)

A nation’s greatness can be seen in how they treat their animals. Mahatma Ghandi.

The two cars were seen by a witness just minutes before the incident at the Cumberland Farms in Ravena.

Soares continues that the officers “faced the possibility of a two hour wait for a state environmental conservation officer to arrive.” That statement, too, is ridiculous. The Coeymans Police Manual instructs officers responding to an animal control call to notify the local Animal Control Officer or, if he or she is not available, to notify a neighboring community’s Animal Control Officer. They did neither. And the “possibility of a two hour wait” just doesn’t make sense. First of all, we don’t believe that the two officers, one a veteran Coeymans PD investigator Stephen Prokrym, who also runs a Schenectady security company, was involved, likely didn’t put out a call to the Department of Environmental Conservation, and just proceeded to put on their circus show. The two cars were seen by a witness just minutes before the incident at the Cumberland Farms in Ravena.

This has to be the most convincing statement of Soares’ stupidity we have heard to date.

Soares final statement, “the conclusion is that the officers did not act with malice or contempt,” brought tears of laughter to my face!!! That has to be the most convincing statement of Soares’ stupidity we have heard to date. Two law enforcement officers in two police vehicles spend more than 15 minutes racing around a public parking lot in full view of dozens of witnesses, harassing, and abusing a single wild animal, and finally running the poor thing over with their vehicles is, in the Albany County DA’s thinking, not “malice or contempt.”

How malicious, evil, and contemptuous of life can it possibly get???!!! But Albany’s DA doesn’t think that the two dumbass Coeymans cops acted with malice or contempt.

What do you think would happen to you?

Let’s just take a real life example and see what you would say: What if you or a neighbor drove into Faith Plaza in Ravena and saw an animal, say a raccoon, a cat, a dog, a deer, a duck, and started harassing it with your car, chasing it around the parking lot like a real clown, and finally running it over. Say there are dozens of people, local shoppers, watching all of this and someone videos it. Someone calls the Coeymans Police and they arrive on the scene. What do you think would happen to you?

What you sow is what you will reap. Pythagoras. Greek Philosopher & Mathematician.

Albany: A Dipshit Racist Albany County District Attorney & Coeymans: Irresponsible and Incompetent Clown Cops.

OK. So you say that the dog or the duck was rabid. Don’t you think someone might ask how you knew that without any test results. And so you say, “Well, someone, I don’t know who, said it was acting abnormally.” Do you think that would keep you out of cuffs? Out of court? Out of jail? We have a double-standard, the same double-standard we see in what we call police states. Except our double-standard is right in our front-yards. A dipshit Albany County District Attorney, irresponsible and unprofessional clown cops.

The Coeymans Police Department and its Company of Clowns Must GO!!!

The state Department of Environmental Conservation had already decided no criminal charges will be filed in the case. The DEC is known to be extremely Democrap and prosecutes only where there’s money to be gotten, even if it’s unfounded; they are not in the habit of prosecuting where there’s no money to be had or business to be ruined. Another useless money pit sucking up New York State tax dollars.

Acting Police Chief Daniel Contento lied in his public statement.

We’d like to make several final points: 1. It’s always a safe bet to be 100% right after you get all the answers. Yes. The raccoon allegedly tested for rabies but was that testing also done in favor of the Coeymans Police statement made BEFORE the test results were released, that the raccoon was rabid? Did the testing lab fit the results to the Police statement?  Acting Police Chief Daniel Contento lied in his public statement. Contento could not have known that the now mutilated raccoon was rabid; he didn’t have the test results until the following day!!!

2. The DA’s office works very closely, is in bed with the police, with law enforcement; in fact, the DA is the chief law enforcement officer in the county (both the DA and law enforcement are the executive branch of government). There’s no chance the DA would go after his police boys. No chance in Hell!

3. The entire incident got international attention. It brought people from as far away as Queensbury, NY, to make statements at the Coeymans Town Board Meeting, protesting the incident. A petition demanding that the officers involved be disciplined, many signers demanding they be terminated, got more than 90,000 signatures!!! The irresponsibility of the Coeymans Town Board and the Coeymans Police Department cannot be swept under the carpet by just saying these two clowns didn’t have a catchpole, a net, or a tranquilizer gun. Why is that? How much does a catchpole or a net or a tranquilizer gun cost? And why doesn’t the Town of Coeymans have an Animal Control Officer? What happens next? The 911 center gets a call about a stray dog; do they run the animal over?

4. Acting Coeymans Police Chief Daniel Contento lied in his statement. Coeymans Supervisor makes the statement that the call should never have been given to the Coeymans Police. The Albany County DA says there was no malice or contempt. (Ask the raccoon, ask the more than 90,000 protesters, ask the residents and citizens who appeared at the Coeymans Town Board meeting to protest the incident and demand that the officers be discipline, terminated.) Local Ravena-Coeymans taxpayers complain they get nothing from the Coeymans Police except harassment. What’s the solution, Citizens?

Once again the Town of Coeymans, dirty, trashy, little backwater hill towns of Ravena and Coeymans, NY, gets international attention the way it always does: a SCANDAL.

But the Coeymans Town Board does have powers under the law to come out shining

The Albany County DA P. David Soares may not want to prosecute his cronies, and the DEC may not want to prosecute a case that the DA himself won’t prosecute. But the Coeymans Town Board does have powers under the law to come out shining. The Coeymans Town Board can eliminate the Coeymans Police Department or at least terminate or suspend the parties involved, including acting police chief Contento. That doesn’t leave Coeymans or Ravena without law enforcement. All 911 calls from Ravena and Coeymans go to the Albany County 911 Center for dispatch, anyway, and the Albany County Sheriff’s Department and the New York State Police patrolling the area can respond to any 911 call, if necessary.

So Albany DA Soares thinks the Coeymans Cops’ Ugly Clown Act was OK. And the Department of Environmental Conservation won’t prosecute, given Soares’ position. So now what will Coeymans Town Supervisor Phillip Crandall and his Coeymans Town Board members Daniel Baker, Jim Youmans, Tom Dolan and Ken Burns do now to save face in view of the public outrage and scandal caused by two Coeymans law enforcement clowns?  Are they going to get some balls and take control of the situation and do what’s right?

Shame on Albany DA Soares! Shame on the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation! Shame on Ravena & Coeymans!

Editor’s Note: We have interspersed various quotes from well-known great thinkers on what animal cruelty tells us about ourselves and how we relate to other human beings. We stand by those quotes and hope that you, our readers, will take them to heart and join us in demanding that what was done to that raccoon on March 12, 2018, is likely an indication of how those officers would respond to any other animal or to another human being. It is an expression of their perverse and evil characters.

Church, Government, Schools, Parents are Failing to Protect Our Children!!!

Republished with Permission of the Author and the Owner of the
Church, Ministry and Pastoral Care

The Church, rather than aiding and abetting the moral and spiritual demise of the human being; rather than cooperating and collaborating with the evils of social media, better named social disease; rather than having a clearly socialist, heretic pope blurting out his heresies over Twitter; rather than pastors preaching the pabulum of social justice and socialism rather than moral values and virtue, the Church and churches are failing us miserably! The Church and churches are failing not only the faithful or those hungry for spirituality but also those of us who are active in teaching, preaching, ministering, and propagating faith traditions and spirituality.

Pope Francis & the Roman Catholic Church Collaborate with Facebook

The Church is Failing Us!

We need to start re-assessing ourselves, our life styles, our priests, pastors, ministers, rabbis, and imams. We need to put a stop to the corporations and their snaking into our lives, our souls, our families! We need to start with disciplining Twitter, Facebook, and other social media who are destroying ignorant and even savvy adults, have even claimed presidents and popes who have succumbed to the addiction, and who are now laying claim to our most vulnerable and valuable members of our society, our children!

Anti-pope Jorge Bergoglio on Twitter

Where are the bishops, the clergy, the rabbis, the imams on these pernicious, scurrilous, specious, and evil developments? I’ll tell you straight out: Our bishops, our clergy, our rabbis, our imams, and our profane secular leaders are willing accomplices to the destruction of the human spirit by so-called social media, especially the filth-monger Facebook and its Antichrist founder, Marc Zuckerberg and his demonic minions!

Anti-pope meets Antichrist.

What has happened to the Churches’ pilgrimage on the higher moral road? They’ve ended up in a drainage ditch!

This blog is all about awareness, awakening. This is a blog is all about awakening the spirit in spirituality and authentic faith practices among all faith and belief traditions. This blog is all about awakening the human spirit. Because it’s about awakening the human spirit, I feel compelled to write this article about how Facebook is killing the human spirit. I’m going to divert attention from our commentary on church and congregation and spiritual development to a very alarming and dangerous situation being created by the social media drug, Facebook. I am diverting to this subject because it concerns our most vulnerable and valuable asset, our children. Please take the time to read this article and to seriously consider how Facebook is striking at the very core of humanity — how Church and clergy are aiding and abetting the assault on humanity —, and how we must do something to stop Facebook’s uncontrolled control of their subscribers and now this unabashed agenda targeting young children. It’s tantamount to digital pedophilia, child abuse at its worst, because it’s targeting their social and spiritual development, only to ensure that Facebook dominates our society. An the Church, not only the Roman Catholic Church but all Christian denominations and most non-Christian traditions are aiding and abetting the development. Think of the ramifications! What has happened to the Churches’ pilgrimage on the higher moral road? They’ve ended up in a drainage ditch!

Facebook’s Worst Idea Ever? A Messenger App for Kids

In an online article in Family, Facebook’s Worst Idea Ever? A Messenger App for Kids [New Jersey Family, December 4, 2017], author Megan Muesen writes:  “Facebook says it will collect some data, including children’s names, the content of their messages and data about how they are using the app. Facebook also reserves the right to share information with third parties (which may have their own privacy policies regarding children) and says it won’t use data from Messenger Kids to create ads…It’s hard to navigate the ever-changing internet landscape, especially at a time when children under the age of eight are spending an hour per day staring at a screen.” But can we trust Facebook to protect the best interests of our children, or can we expect Facebook to protect its own interests, especially its bottom line and revenues?

Facebook is more of a social disease than a social opportunity. It has robbed us of our ability to communicate in human terms, it has created addicts of most of its users. Facebook is a trap that lures unsuspecting people into what they think is a unique opportunity to connect and then treats subscribers like a bunch of idiots blocking accounts at random for days for any so-called violation of Facbook rules, and informing the user that they “may have violated” a Facebook rule. “May have”?  What does that mean. You don’t know and Facebook “systems” doing the blocking don’t care.

You complain that you “don’t have time” to do this or that in your day. Did you ever keep track of the time you spend on Facebook? Try keeping time you spend on Facebook each day for a couple of days. Just jot down Time On/Time Off. You’ll be amazed at how much time you spend on that cyberdemon. Now visit this article and find out if you’re addicted to Facebook (or any other Internet site). You’re an addict and don’t even know it.

Children are becoming fFcebook shadow people

It’s a form of self-deceiving, self-defeating, self-destructive behavior (SDB). This is a serious problem and everyone using Facebook and other social media should be aware of this devastating self-perpetuating, deadman’s spiral behavior. It develops insidiously and has dire effects. Self-destructive behavior is real, is affecting huge numbers of people using social media, and is highly addictive. It’s even affecting the Church and religious and belief traditions of all types.

Got Messenger? Even worse still. You may think you’re important getting all those notifications and messages but Guess what? you’re getting them from other addicts. Anyone who needs request a chat, a video call more than once or twice a day to the same person really needs to get back to reality and get a life. They, you’re addicted.

Just like any other drug, social media takes control of your life even only after a short time of recreational use a.k.a. social use. All it takes is a little bait and those susceptible to addition are hooked like a fish. Remember the time when someone asked you if you had a Facebook account and you actually said No. Facebook now reports that it has some 1.4 billion users worldwide, many of them addicts in the First World, but many also in the second and third world, people who are very vulnerable and susceptible to the wrong messages being disseminated by Facebook users and by Facebook itself. Imagine the scenario where presidents and popes have accounts on Facebook and Twitter and send their public propaganda to millions, billions worldwide. No think of the invisible, clandestine operations that are no doubt going on behind the scenes or behind the profile and “friend” you’ve been sharing your secrets with. Sure, keep indiscriminately “friending” every cyberfreak that comes along. Sure send them a picture of your private parts. Sure, send them anything they ask for. The cheap thrill now will cost you plenty later. That’s a fact of self-destructive behavior, by the way. Read my article.

The whole Federal Law thing about protecting children from online exploitation is a load of bulls***, people. See through the agenda!

Facebook recently launched a new app targeting young childrenFacebook launches a version of Messenger for young children; the app is targeting children and is designed for children ages six to 12 (!!!!). Children’s Online Privacy and Protection Act (COPPA), a US federal law, is supposed to  protect underage children from exploitation online, and it’s the reason so many online services require children be 13 years of age or older in order to sign up. Facebook says the new app is only available in the US. Surprised? But the still open question is this: How does Facebook ensure that its present members are a certain age before sign-up? It’s obvious it can’t verify the age of a non-existent person and Facebook is crawling with non-existent persons. Just check out the profiles and subscriber names! Facebook can’t verify an account holder’s name or age, it’s that simple! They rely on what the account holder provides, and that’s usually fake! So the whole Federal Law thing about protecting children from online exploitation is a load of bulls***, people. See through the agenda!

Facebook is going after the next generation of users by targeting children!

Is this your child’s future? Staring for hours every day into an electronic device?

Facebook’s own spokesperson provides a damning statement on Facebook’s real agenda: Facebook is going after the next generation of users by targeting children. Facebook’s Public Policy Director Antigone Davis writes, “Children today are online earlier and earlier.” Davis goes on to say that “research shows that kids are using apps that are intended for teens and adults.” Davis says Facebook collaborated with National PTA on a study showing observing 1,200 American parents of children under the age of 13, with three out of every five parents saying kids under 13 are already using messaging apps, while 81 percent say their kids stated using social media apps as early as eight.” That statement clearly reads that children are already using adult apps, and are chatting and messaging, despite any toothless federal law and the stupidity of their parents! Facebook’s own statement clearly points out that Facebook is going after the next generation of users by targeting children! Facebook is creating a pipeline using young children to become regular users of the Facebook cyberplague.

It’s evil, it’s filth, it’s degenerate.

It hat what the PTA is all about? Parents should demand discipline of any teacher, any school, any school board of education that promotes or allows Facebook, Twitter, or Messenger to be used by students or who promote using social media for communicating school business. The same goes for any parish, congregation, synagogue, temple, mosque that promotes social media as a means for communication among their members. It’s evil, it’s filth, it’s degenerate.

Facebook has proven it cannot be trusted with youth data in the past

In an online article in Wired, Kristen Strader, campaign coordinator for the nonprofit group Public Citizen, says Facebook has proven it cannot be trusted with youth data in the past, pointing to a leaked Facebook report from May that promised advertisers the ability to track teen emotions, such as insecurity, in real-time. “Their response was just that they will not do similar experiments in the future,” says Strader. At the time, advocacy groups asked for a copy of the report, but Facebook declined. [Source: Facebook for 6-year olds?]

It’s not about social media, it’s only about social control.

Messenger Kids. Facebook is going after the next generation of users by targeting children!  Messenger Kids is targeting the 8-13 age group and Facebook is asking parents to give their approval so children can message one another. By enlisting the parents as willing tools to sacrifice their children, Facebook is betting that the app can introduce a new generation of users to the Marc Zuckerberg’s ever-expanding social control universe. Zuckerberg’s greed, arrogance, and intrusion into the family has no bounds! He has to be stopped along with his Facebook evil. It’s not about social media, it’s only about social control.

The glaring arrogance and undisguised attack on our young and children, undermining the role of parents and significant others is unforgivable! The idolatry has become overwhelming and I’d rather not continue supporting it. It is clearly dehumanizing and is doing much damage to our people. The recent announcement of an app for the 13 and under is one of the the most disgusting and ugly attacks on children and their social, moral and spiritual development yet seen in our history. We have to make a move and I am doing my part by this protest: I’m deleting all of my Facebook accounts! I urge you to do the same.

The new app is tantamount to child abuse, akin to pedophilia. Parents who allow it should be damned. In a NY Times article, New Facebook App for Children Ignites Debate Among Families, there is a huge debate among parents who, on the one hand are concerned about “Facebook’s snaking its way into his children’s lives at an early age would most likely do more harm than good,” and those who feel that technology is an inevitability and appreciate “Facebook’s approach with the new app.” The parent interviewed who appreciates Facebook’s newest perversion is, of course, from the LaLa-Land, California, home of Silicon Valley and Facebook. Surprised? Sure, such parents are more than willing to abandon their children to their electronic devices; that provides more me-time for the parents.

I’ve often referred to Facebook and other social media as an addictive drug. Modern science has identified it as being addictive and has even given it a name, Internet Addictive Disorder, and a sub-category of Facebook Addictive Disorder, with its own set of psychiatric signs and symptoms. What more evidence do we need than our own behavior, self-defeating, self-deceiving and frequently self-destructive, to prove to us that Facebook is doing irreparable damage to adults, and is now targeting an even more vulnerable group, our children, and they’re asking parent to cooperate in their own children’s destruction.

One parent’s position on this issue is worth reading. Jenny Anderson tells us “Why I Won’t Let My Children Near Facebook’s Messenger for Kids,” and it’s clear how one parent is aware enough to put her foot down. We need more parents like Jenny!

You should be more worried about your children and social media!!!

STOP FACEBOOK! RAISE YOUR VOICES! WRITE TO YOUR LEGISLATORS! CONDEMN MARC ZUCKERBERG AND HIS EVIL EMPIRE, THE SHEEPLE OF FACEBOOK! SAVE OUR CHILDREN!!!!

We have to make a move and I am doing my part by this protest: I’m deleting all of my Facebook accounts! I urge you to do the same.

The Forgotten Lesson: Christ’s love for the children.

Thank you for reading!

Is the Town’s Plan to Exhaust Residents Seeking Justice?

New Baltimore Resident’s Message to Joe Stanzione, Greene County District Attorney:
“We, the public, pay the bills but we’re not getting delivery. As an attorney, you should recognize that this is unlawful.”

Taxpayers and Property Owners are not Means to Their End!
Tax Dollars Pay Public Employees’ and Elected Officials’ Salaries, and Provide Money for Reasonably Expectable Competent Services.
Not to damage our property and then ignore us!!!

New Baltimore insurers Marshall & Sterling (Leeds, NY), Trident Brokerage, and Argo Group (Bermuda) are being paid to work against New Baltimore Residents and Property Owners with good faith claims for damages. The Albany law firm of Bailey, Johnson, DeLeonardis & Peck P.C. have been hired by New Baltimore’s insurers and New Baltimore to make sure New Baltimore residents, property owners and tax payers don’t get justice and fair play! Isn’t there something wrong with this picture? Don’t WE pay the bills in this town? If we as private citizens damage town property our sorry asses are in jail! Maybe that’s where our Town Board, our Town Sole Assessor, Gordon Bennett, and definitely our Town Superintendent of Highways, Denis Jordan, should be!

This is what our government has become!

When a government uses a taxpayer’s own dollars to screw the taxpayer, that’s downright immoral. The Town of New Baltimore pays for insurance to cover liabilities but when a liability occurs, the insurance coverage we pay for is used against us, and the town hides behind the insurance company’s lawyers. You want rights? Find another lawyer, pay him, spend years paying him or her, and when the money runs out, forget about it. You’re still paying. Why doesn’t the Town of New Baltimore wake up, accept the evidence, and stop playing games with residents. That’s not how it’s supposed to work guys and gals!

Here’s the text of a local resident’s letter to the insurance companies covering the Town of New Baltimore’s liability risk. It seems that New Baltimore’s Town Board (Jeff Ruso, Shelli van Etten, Chuck Brody, Scott Brody), Supervisor Nick Dellisanti,  and other elected officials are really missing the bus when it comes to doing what’s right for residents and taxpayers. The problem is that we elected these people who are spending so much time screwing us than they are making life better for us. No exceptions! From the SupervisorDellisanti, Deputy Supervisor Ruso,  to the town board members (Shelli van Etten, Chuck Irving, Scott Brody), to the Highway Superintendent Denis Jordan, to Gordon Bennett, New Baltimore Tax Assessor, who, rather than look at a piece of damaged property for reassessment, tells the property owner to ask for a form!!!

Here’s the full text of the letter to the Town’s insurance company:

Dear Insurance Specialists:[1]

Mr Thomas Rickert, CPCU, ARM, ARM-P, ARM-E, ARC, ARe, VP, Head of Marketing, Trident, ArgoGroup[2]
Joshua Bouchez , Territory Marketing Manager, East Coast[3]
Claims Reporting, Trident[4]
Ashley Heline, Communications Coordinator, ArgoGroup[5]
ArgoGroup Underwriters[6]

It has always been my understanding, and I would reasonably presume that of the general public, that insurance was a science of risk management, control, mitigation but our understanding has changed radically over the past two years on the example of ArgoGroup’s, Trident’s and Marshall & Sterling’s “risk management” in the Town of New Baltimore.

It seems your operations are more attuned to “risk aggravation” or “risk perpetuation” than to “risk management,” and this fact is borne out by a brief review of some of the reports published on a local watchdog blog, Smalbany Blog, which has been covering the incompetence and the abuses operating in the Town of New Baltimore, most specifically in the New Baltimore Highway Department under the direct supervision and authority of its Superintendent, Mr Denis Jordan. For your convenience, several of those links are provided at the end of this communication. You are encouraged, in your own interests, to review the contents of those articles.

Our Town Government at Work for Us.

In terms of fair play, justice and fiduciary obligations, ArgoGroup, Trident, the agency Marshall & Sterling (Leeds, NY) in collusion with the law firm of Bailey, Johnson, DeLeonardis & Peck P.C.(Crystall R. Peck, attorney of record in this matter) and the Town of New Baltimore, you all get failing grades in terms of ethics and fair play. Furthermore, on objective and subjective moral assessment, your conduct is immoral.

It is very much in your interests to review the links provided below which provide a very clear picture of the real risk situation in New Baltimore and how the rights and interests of taxpayers, residents and others, including your shareholders, are being misused and abused.

The facts are indisputable, the evidence clear and convincing, the wrongful acts ongoing, and the damage to the public and to private interests substantial. This is bad press for you and your collaborators indeed.

Poor stewardship of public treasure, abuse of office, and indifference and incompetence at the state level (Mr George Amadore, NYS Senator, 46th Senatorial District), the county level (Greene County, NY; Greene County District Attorney, Mr Joseph Stanzione), and at the local, town level (Town of New Baltimore Town Board; Town of New Baltimore Highway Department, Highway Superintendant Denis Jordan; Town Attorney Mr Tal Rappelea) with the self-interests of Trident/ArgoGroup’s legal prostitutes Bailey, Johnson, DeLeonardis, & Peck P.C., are jointly, severally and individually traumatizing every concept of justice, fair play, professional ethics, good government, and abusing the fiduciary obligations and duties of local, county, and state elected officials, whose obligations are to the public weal, and to the individual uniquely concerned.

It is our well-founded observation that none of the parties listed in the above paragraph are complying with the basic tenets of ethics and the standards we, the public, expect of regulated enterprise, licensed professionals, elected officials; in fact, it is our observation, not our opinion, that Marshall & SterlingTridentArgoGroup, state senator George AmadoreGreene County officialsTown of New Baltimore officials, and the law firm of Bailey, Johnson, DeLeonardis, & Peck P.C.are making a public mockery of public and professional ethics, good government, responsible stewardship in government, and the notions of justice, fair play and fiduciary obligation to the citizen, resident, and most of all to the taxpayers of these communities.

As it now stands, the taxpayer and property owner is exposed to tenfold jeopardy[7]:

  • Jeopardy situation No. 1: As a property owner, one is obliged to pay substantial taxes on one’s property to support government and education; accordingly, the property owner, by and through their taxes and assessments, pays for the services of government. Forsaking all else in order to ensure timely payment of assessed property taxes, the property owner remits.
  • Jeopardy situation No. 2: When the services of government, including the wages and salaries, the goods and services required for operation, etc. operate contrary to the interests of the taxpayer, the taxpayer is harmed. The taxpayer/property owner is deprived of his reasonable expectations issuing from the payment of assessed property taxes.
  • Jeopardy situation No. 3: Included in the allocations of taxpayer dollars, that is, the taxes paid by the property owner, are set aside for the purposes of payment of the salaries and wages of individuals who are either indifferent or incompetent, and those individuals in the course of their employment, harm the taxpayer, those tax dollars are used ostensibly to harm the taxpayer. This is an egregious abuse of the notion of trust and fair play.
  • Jeopardy situation No. 3: When the competent government offices are served with notice of the above situation, and those authorities do not exercise and implement every available option to cure the defects and deficiencies, those authorities are derelict and guilty of misprision.
  • Jeopardy situation No. 4: When the harm done to the taxpayer/property owner is ongoing and attributable to the constructive operations and knowledge of the local competent government offices, each of the instances constitutes a new claim and a new harm to the taxpayer/property owner. Given the fact that the local government and the competent offices are duly notified, each instance constitutes a separate act of negligence/dereliction.
  • Jeopardy situation No. 5: The taxpayer/property owner not only is being deprived of reasonably expected level of competent services for his tax dollars, he is being deprived of good ethical government services, both of which result in financial damage to the taxpayer/property owner in terms of his good faith investment in his community and his reasonable expectations of financial advantage resulting from his investment. This deprivation is tortious.
  • Jeopardy situation No. 6: When the beneficiary local government by its negligence, indifference or incompetence then ignores the taxpayer/property owner’s good faith notice and demands for cure of the defects and deficiencies, and for compensation of the harm done, the local government ignores the claimant and, instead of fair response, hands the matter over to an underwriter, who then hands it over to a hired-gun law firm.
  • Jeopardy situation No. 7: Given the situations above and given the fact of Jeopardy situation No. 7, the taxpayer/property owner is confronted by a situation comparable to Buridan’s ass[8]: The choices available to the taxpayer/property owner to obtain justice are: (1) rely on the good will of local government, (2) proceed at law. A third option is merely to throw one’s hand’s into the air in despair, and lapse into anger and apathy. Conspicuously, option (1) is absent and unavailable to the taxpayer/property owner, and option (3) is unacceptable by any standard of assessment. This leaves Jeopardy situation No. 8.
  • Jeopardy situation No. 8: The taxpayer/property owner, while still obliged to pay his property taxes and other assessments to the delinquent and derelict town government and town officials, is compelled to seek out and to pay for legal services necessary for obtaining justice. This may be a calculated strategy deployed by the delinquent and derelict town government in collusion with their insurance underwriters and their attorneys, clearly expecting that the matter will have to endure a protracted course in pretrial procedures and, if the victim is persistent, then to endure the trial procedure. This normally lasts for a decade or more and can cost the harmed property owner hundreds of thousands of dollars. Regardless of the endurance of the harmed property owner in terms of financial resources and tenacity, he is still in jeopardy situation No. 9.
  • Jeopardy situation No. 9: The clear strategy of the town is to hand over the matter to the underwriter, who has almost limitless resources, who hands it over to a local law firm, who is on retainer by the insurance company. The combination of very deep pockets and a law firm on retainer and obliged to represent the interests of the insurance company over and against the interests of the property owner, regardless of the factual situation, encourages the insurance company and the law firm to keep the matter in the courts for as long as possible, ostensibly in the expectation of exhausting the property owners will, energy, and resources, causing him to withdraw.
  • Jeopardy situation No. 10: The interests of justice and the public weal are defeated, as are the interests of the property owner. The entire community and society at large are damaged, injured.

Damned if I do. Damned if I don’t.
Why are they doing this to us?

As the situation enumerated above clearly shows, the current situation is immoral and represents an insult to the precepts of ethics in government and the professions. We are demanding investigation and prosecution of the particular matter and the general situation in New Baltimore.

I reasonably expect that as this situation develops there will be commensurate and appropriate public outrage, a justified outrage that will manifest itself in a multitude of ways.

This communication will be submitted to the Smalbany Blog for editing and publication.

I look forward to your response and comments.

First of all, given the performance of these elected officials, they don’t deserve to be in office and should be booted out next election. Secondly, these crooked insurance agents and brokers should be boycotted and investigated by the regulatory authorities. As for the shysters, the prostitute law firms like  Bailey, Johnson, DeLeonardis, & Peck P.C, they should be drummed out of the profession; they’re whores practicing law and abusing it.

Well, we’ve done our homework and have researched the law and other applicable court decisions as well as opinions on the subject matter handed down by the Office of the New York State Comptroller. Apparently, New Baltimore Town Attorney, Tal Rappelea, although he claims to specialize in municipal (town) law, hasn’t done his required reading for this course. We’ll be happy to provide him with our Memorandum of Law at the next New Baltimore Town Board public meeting. We’d like him, Mr Denis Jordan (New Baltimore Superintendent of Highways), Mr Scott van Wormer (the “new” — or he will be — New Baltimore Superintendent of Highways), Mr Joe Stanzione (Greene County District Attorney), Ms Crystall Peck (Bailey, Johnson, DeLeonardis & Peck P.C.), and the Greene County Press (Johnson Newspaper Group, Mary Delaney), and Ken Gray or Jean Valk (Marshall & Sterling Insurance) to be there to hear what we have to say, and maybe to comment, too. Maybe Greene County Sheriff Gregory Seally (R), “Mr Cold Case” Seally, will bring a couple of deputies and cuffs for the Town Board and Mr Jordan. We”ll also publish the Memorandum before the meeting so that the whole community can see what can and should be done to correct the disgusting situation in New Baltimore, and other towns like it.

Speaking of lawyers, here’s a bit of humor to take the edge off:

Question: Why does New York have all the lawyers and New Jersey all the toxic waste?
Answer: New Jersey had first choice.

[8] Buridan’s ass is an illustration of a paradox in philosophy in the conception of free will. It refers to a hypothetical situation wherein a donkey that is equally hungry and thirsty is placed precisely midway between a stack of hay and a pail of water. As used here, it represents a situation where the choices are equally good or equally bad; damned if you do and damned if you don’t. The donkey in the illustration is hungry but dies because it can make the choice of which bale to eat. The illustration relates to the situation in New Baltimore in that the options for the property owner are all going to cause more harm or more suffering no matter which choice he makes. The only good choice is for the Town of New Baltimore to choose to do what is fair and right. But they have chosen not to do so. Thus, the property owner is in the unfavorable situation he finds himself in.

Local Dentists. Are you being abused, taken for a ride in the chair?

We all know about licensed professionals whether hairdressers, electricians, builders, funeral directors, doctors or dentists. Licensing means only that they have completed the required training as defined by the New York State Department of Education — and that they paid the state fee. Licensing does not qualify them as having the people skills necessary to do their job nor does it ensure that they have any ethics. The cardinal rule of ethics is this: “No one shall use another person as the means to an end.” Yet many of our licensed professionals do just that: They look at you as a cash cow and the means to their enrichment.

You just stand there like a dumb Moo, and let them milk you dry.

You just stand there like a dumb Moo, and let them milk you dry. Yes, you do look stupid.

In fact, when you sit down and think about it, dentists are the only practitioners who willfully mutilate the patient and then charge the patient to fix the mutilation — they’re a lot like Greene county contractors or the New Baltimore highways department or the Ravena public works department. WTF! Think about that for a minute…

Marvin Gerstenberg of New Baltimore Family Dentistry and Kurt Froehlich of Coxsackie Dental Arts: Two Peas

Marvin Gertzberg of New Baltimore Family Dentistry and Kurt Froehlich of Coxsackie Dental Arts: Two Peas

As soon as you complain, some dentists (like Kurt Froehlich of Coxsackie Dental Arts) will insist that you made a contract. Now, any contract is a meeting of the minds. But both parties have to agree on terms that are clear and unambiguous, and both parties have the right to ask for the terms to be put into writing just to be sure the terms are clear and unambiguous, and that the one party knows what is expected of him and the other party makes it clear what it expects. Once that is done we can assume that there is mutual informed consent by both parties to enter into a contract that is binding on each and enforceable by both parties. Note the key terms here: “meeting of the minds,” “clear and unambiguous,” “Informed consent.”

Note the key terms here: “meeting of the minds,” “clear and unambiguous,” “Informed consent.”

What this means is that once you have all the information you need and that information is clear and not double-talk, you have the option of entering into the contract or not. No “contract” can be forced upon you; if they do a procedure on you without your informed consent it can be criminal battery, maybe even assault! And incomplete information is worth as much as no information; you shouldn’t be left standing there to fill in the blanks.

Funeral directors are required by law to have a price list….Why shouldn’t dentists and physicians be held to the same or similar standard?

Editor’s Note: You need to be reminded that this is business, not a love fest. Your dentist is smiling at you because he’s making a lot of money but he’s smiling only as long as you play his game by his rules. Rock the boat and you’re in for a rude — and we do mean rude — awakening. That’s why we recommend you always insist on a treatment plan, in writing, plus an itemized estimate of the costs, and check with your insurance company to find out what they reimburse and whether you’re going to get stuck with having to pay a chunky balance. If your dentist tells you he wants payment up front and that you have to deal with the insurance company, RUN! If your dentist refuses to provide you with a written treatment plan or refuses to explain what his plan is or doesn’t come back to assure you understand what’s going to be done and that you understand everything, RUN! Always take notes or jot down notes about the experience as soon as possible after your visit. You may wish you had when the cat hits the fan. Where do you run, you ask? To your computer or to pen and paper and write a complaint giving the dentist’s name, his practice, dates and the facts of the incident. Send the complaint to us and we’ll forward it to the authorities. Or you can send us a copy and contact the Department of Health and the Department of Education, Licensing Division on your own. If you feel there’s a crime involved, like fraud, contact the office of the district attorney for the county you live in. Funeral directors are required by law to have a price list and to provide that price list to clients; in addition, some states even require funeral directors to provide side-by-side comparisons of burial vs. cremation costs! Why shouldn’t dentists and physicians be held to the same or similar standard?

As we mentioned, we’re going to diverge a little this time and give our crooked and incompetent public employees and local elected officials a breather — that’ll give them an opportunity to do something really stupid we can write about—, and look at some local delinquents who have somehow slipped under the radar: local dentists. Now, we’re not singling out dentists because all the other health-related providers are such angels; we’ll get to them in due course. It’s just that we have some information of significant interest on two local dental vampires that might be vital for residents in the Greene County communities of New Baltimore and Coxsackie to know, and in which the Greene County District Attorney might be interested.

Gertzberg & Froehlich beefed up their practices in a previously underserved community to cash in and take off!

The two dental practices we are focusing on are New Baltimore Family Dentistry (Marvin Gertzberg**) and Coxsackie Dental Arts (Kurt Froehlich), both run by two ready-for-retirement dentists who apparently beefed up their practices in a previously underserved community to cash in and take off. Gertzberg recently sold the New Baltimore Family Dentistry practice and is soon to retire; Froehlich is likely to do the same once he bleeds his patients and the community dry. Read on…

So what they’re doing in the good ole US of A, is what they do so well: misinform and practice deception.

Dentists like to be called “Dr” but in reality, they are not real doctors because their degree, although it reads “doctor of dental medicine” or “doctor of dental science”, isn’t really an academic doctorate. Same applies to most medical “doctors” in the United States. An academic degree, especially a “doctorate”, is awarded after the candidate earns a master’s degree, applies to and is admitted to a doctoral program, does appropriate original research, under the supervision of an adviser writes a dissertation and defends that research and the dissertation; and then is awarded an academic doctorate, usually a PhD. Medical doctors and dentists in the USA finish a 4-year undergrad degree that does not necessarily have to be science related (some are in music or English or some subject unrelated to medicine) but they do have to do pre-med or pre-dental courses. After being admitted to an accredited medical or dental program, they then do 2 years of basic science coursework (anatomy, pharmacology, pathology, biochemistry, microbiology, etc.) and if they do well, they then do 2 years of electives and clinical work. They have to pass a series of board examinations. Having done that, they graduate and go on to spend time on-the-job as interns, residents, and fellows, etc. During all of that, like any professional, they are expected to take continuing education courses, keep up-to-date in their specialties, and develop their skills just as any hairdresser, embalmer, or electrician would be expected to do. So what the for-profit corporate education system is doing in the good ole US of A, is what they do so well: misinform and practice deception.

[Editor’s note: In most developed countries, what the doctors and dentists we call “doctor” are not called doctor at all but Mr and referred to as physicians or dentists but unless they have completed the academic research and dissertation requirements leading to the award of a “real” academic doctoral degree, they are not called “doctor.”]

Let’s face it, most people who go to the doctor or to the dentist hardly open their mouths to describe what’s ailing them, and even fewer ask the right questions, and even fewer question the doctor or dentist. Most people go in and the doctor or dentist does most of the talking and less of the listening and the patient sits patiently waiting to be told what’s wrong and what’s going to be done. Did the doctor or dentist even listen to what’s wrong or discuss what’s going to be done. Hardly. In fact, all the while you are trying to inform the provider, they’re already deciding what they’re going to do. We’ve written a piece on “listening” that will be published on another blog. We’ll post the link once it’s up; you may want to read it.

** It appears that New Baltimore Family Dentistry has changed hands and M. Gertzberg doesn’t even appear in the staff directory. But that’s not our problem. Gertzberg may have left the practice but the organizational culture he created and left behind is still is alive and well — until proved otherwise.

Dentists must commit time to listen without interruption

Because we’re focusing on two local dental practices, let’s have a quick look at what Dr Stanley Weiss DDS, a dentist and psychotherapist has to say about dentists’ listening skills in Dental Economics, a professional journal for the dental profession (online at: Dental Economics):

“As a dentist and psycho-therapist, I’ve found listening is overlooked in dentistry…Dentists must commit time to listen without interruption to what patients and staff members communicate. In addition, you must devote energy to concentrate on blocking everything else to absorb what patients convey…To know patients, we must listen to them. With new patients, rely on experience to elicit dental and medical information, show how well you listen, and project personality and attributes such as your caring, humanity, and sense of humor…An inability to listen will be judged harshly. Your patients might interpret it as your not caring, disinterest, lack of empathy, or even incompetence.…Many dentists think the way to impress patients is to talk, talk, talk about their thoughts, feelings, and opinions. This may work infrequently. Instead, listen, ask questions based upon what the patient has said, and be attentive to the patient and what he or she says…What you invest in listening will be returned to you economically in patient retention and referrals. To most of your patients, your listening is more important than your mechanical skill.

Dentist: “… putting metal into your mouth, pulls coins out of your pocket.”

listen to new dental patients

Listen to new dental patients

That’s coming from a dentist! Here’s something else published by a dentist who had to publish it under a fake name because he was talking about his colleagues in the dental business. In his book, “Dentistry and Its Victims: The Self-Defense Handbook You Need to Protect Your Teeth and Your Pocketbook“, dentist Dr Paul Revere (not his real name): This little gem of a book exposes the dental profession and makes clear recommendations to patients. The title page of this includes a quote from Bierce’s The Devil’s Dictionary: “Dentist, n., A prestidigitator who, putting metal into your mouth, pulls coins out of your pocket.” It is written by a pseudonymous dentist who knows the “inside” story and who is warns the laity about poor dentistry. He does more: he provides the reader with some sensible information about self-help and good routine care. I include this book on this list because of the criticism of dentistry and because the author explains some of the risks to the dentist of providing good dental care. There is a paradox here: the dentist who does the best possible job may, in fact, alienate his patients. The good dentist may, for example, save a tooth – at great personal cost to the patient – when the patient really just wants the thing out. The author also suggests this important point: “…organized dentistry will not publish, and actually suppresses, all studies on the quality of dentistry as it is practiced.” (p. 11) This is, of course, in order to maintain the position that dentistry already has. The author similarly makes the point that dentists’ ethics — What ethics? you might very well ask — prohibit, or at least restrain, one dentist from criticizing another. The same sort of code of silence exists for dentists as exists for physicians and scientists.(Ask your community librarian to get the book for you. Here are the details for requesting it: Publisher: St. Martin’s Press; Revised edition (1980), ISBN-10: 0312193912, ISBN-13: 978-0312193911).

Back to our focus: New Baltimore Family Dentistry and Coxsackie Dental Arts (CDA). These two dental practices might easily have been the reason for both Dr Weiss’ and for Dr Revere’s scathing assessments of the shortcomings and worse that we have to deal with in the dental office. What’s even worse is the highway robbery and deception that is going on literally right under our noses.

Dentists are the only practitioners who willfully mutilate the patient and then charge the patient to fix the mutilation

The pitiful part of all of this is how much people will accept for the sake of convenience and because they don’t have the guts to open their mouths. Rather than be confrontational those without dental insurance would rather not go to the dentist; after all this is a toothless society we live in, isn’t it. Or did I mean “ball-less.” And those with dental insurance don’t give a damn because, What the hell! they’re not paying the bill. But now local dentists have a new scam that they call their new “business model.” That model is this: You pay their price up front for what they do and they’ll submit the paperwork to your insurance company, who will then reimburse you for the amount they would reimburse the dentist. Well, that might sound real nice until you see the light: This new “business model” is win-win for the dentist and bullshit for you. Here’s why: The reason the dentist is doing it this way is because he doesn’t feel the insurance company is paying enough. So he milks you for his inflated price for the service and you get what the insurance company would normally pay him. Nice scam, right. But here’s what else they try to get away with: The dental office doesn’t even want to submit the paperwork to the insurance company, instead, the dental office wants to hand you the paperwork and have you do their work. This is the “business model” Coxsackie Dental Arts and dentist Kurt Froehlich is using to milk some, if not all of his patients. Example, Coxsackie Dental Arts (Kurt Froehlich) charges $1200 for a single-tooth permanent tooth replacement (on the existing tooth base). You pay Froehlich $1200 and the insurance company will pay you about $375 – 400.00 or what the insurance industry has determined to be fair and reasonable for that service. So if $375 or $400 is considered fair and reasonable and would be what any dentist would accept if he isn’t using Froehlich’s so-called business model, then the $375 or $400 would be adequate to cover the dentist’s expenses and still leave room for making some bucks. Why is Froehlich so unique and special that he needs to charge three-times what is fair and reasonable?!? Maybe Coxsackie Dental Arts or Mr Froehlich can explain why his practice is three times better than a fair and reasonable practice.

But we don’t think he can because we have information that shows what a scam he’s running at Coxsackie Dental Arts (CDA). A local resident went to CDA to get an infection seen to and to have two temporaries repaired. He first tried to get an appointment with CDA using their website “Request and Appointment” form. In about a week’s time and 4 attempts later, he still had no response from CDA, and called to make an appointment. (The resident says he tried two other practices: Michael Conte in Glenmont and even New Baltimore Family Dentistry using their online forms and got responses within a couple of hours). The resident explained to the CDA receptionist what he needed and that it needed to be done a.s.a.p. because he would be out of town the next week and didn’t want to mess with the infection and the broken temps. He got an appointment two days later but was told he had to pay $55 for a consultation. Why $55 for a new patient. We don’t get it. You should be happy to get a new patient and you don’t need to charge for a consultation when you’re discussing what the patient needs. But CDA and Kurt Froehlich do!

So, the patient is in the chair, the tech takes x-rays specifically of the infected area and of the temps needing repair. The patient attempts to explain to Froehlich what happened and Froehlich tells him he doesn’t need details. The patient offers to show Froehlich his previous x-rays only a year old. Froehlich says they’re too old, he needs to take his own. The patient tells Froehlich his former dentist has the permanent bridge for the teeth. Froehlich says he uses his own work and doesn’t know what the other dentist’s work is like. But … Froehlich doesn’t need details and doesn’t even say, “Well, let’s get the perms and have a look. Maybe we can use them.” Now Why? would he do that when he thinks he can charge 3 times more? That’s a slick trick!

Froehlich tells the patient that the root of the infected tooth is being absorbed by the body and has to come out. That would mean that the bridge (two teeth) would have to be replaced. (Had Froehlich done what any decent dentist would have done and looked at the previous x-rays, he would have had a basis for comparison, but he wasn’t interested in “details.”). When someone tells you he “Doesn’t need details,” he’s not listening and he’s not interested in you or what you have to say.

What Kurt Froehlich sees when he sees you in the chair!

What Kurt Froehlich sees when he sees you in the chair!

Froehlich then preps the teeth with the broken temps and his tech makes a temporary set. Froehlich says that to finish the work he would need $1200 downpayment, that a post-dated check would do, because it was a Thursday afternoon, and CDA is closed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and the patient was to be out of town all the following week. The patient doesn’t like the idea of doing post-dated checks and so pays Froehlich with a credit card. Froehlich then disappears (the patient, still in the chair, sees him leaving and sees him driving away). Froehlich leaves and the tech finishes up. Froehlich never reappears to check the work or to ensure that the patient had a clear idea of the treatment plan, which the patient repeatedly told Froehlich he wanted. We find that Froehlich was way out of line leaving the premises while a patient was still in the chair, not checking the work done by his tech, and not ensuring after all was done that the patient understood what the plan was. This was a new, first-time patient and that’s the treatment he got at Coxsackie Dental Arts. Nice impression, Froehlich! Froehlich was really froehlich (German for happy) once he got his money.

In the meantime, we have received documents that show that Coxsackie Dental Arts, Kurt Froehlich, submitted a claim to the patient’s insurance company for $2455.00 on the day of the patients initial visit! Froehlich is billing at least 3 weeks before the anticipated work was to be done (the patient was scheduled to return on August 3, 2015)!!! Now if the same rule applies to Coxsackie Dental Arts and to Kurt Froehlich that applied to New Baltimore Family Dentistry and to Marvin Gertzberg, that is, that a claim can’t be filed or paid until the work is completed, then Coxsackie Dental Arts is demanding payment for work not done, and is fraudulently claiming payment in the amount of $2422.00 ($2400 for the two crowns not even made on July 16, much less installed + $22.00 overpayment for the double-billing of the consultation)!!! Coxsackie Dental Arts and Kurt Froehlich have been found out; they’re robbing their patients blind with inflated prices for dental services, double-billing, and fraudulently claiming payment for work not done!

All of this raises the question of whether this is as widespread as it seems, and why no one has picked up on it until now. Where have you all been while Gertzberg and Froehlich are skipping happily to the bank? Here we have two dental practices in a backwater area who are cashing in like bandits and nobody seems to notice. Patients don’t, insurance company doesn’t, district attorneys don’t seem to care, but we do! Game’s over, dudes. We’re calling for in-depth audits of your practices and investigations by the insurance companies and district attorneys! We’re calling on your patients to demand transparency and accountability. New Baltimore Family Dentistry and Coxsackie Dental Arts have no right to steal form us directly, indirectly, or otherwise!

On the way to Boston, on the following Sunday evening, the temporary bridge falls out and the patient is left with two exposed stumps and a temporary in his hand! Exactly what he expressly intended to avoid when he went to Froehlich’s practice. He tries the next day to reach Froehlich’s office but gets a voice recording, leaves a message, and later in the day, while in meetings, gets a callback and a voicemail message telling him to get some FixaDent and put the temporary teeth back in.

The patient is suspicious by this time that he doesn’t know what exactly Froehlich is planning but that impressions were made on that Thursday but for what? There was not treatment plan and the patient didn’t know what Froehlich’s plan was; Froehlich didn’t hang around long enough to tell the patient.

That same day, the patient sends Froehlich an e-mail telling him to stop all work, to issue a refund of the $1200, to tell the patient what the treatment plan was, and why Froehlich took the impressions. The patient made it a point to assure Froehlich that he would pay for any work done to that point that was in accord with his, the patient’s, explicit requests: to check the infection and to repair the temporaries.

Froehlich wrote back refusing to honor the patient’s requests. The issues are now in dispute and the patient has contacted his insurance company to find out whether Froehlich put in any paperwork. The insurance company informed the patient that
Froehlich’s claim was processed on July 31, 2015, and the two unit bridge was denied because it was within the 5-year limit for replacement; Froehlich, although he charged the patient $55 for a consultation and was paid in cash, Froehlich still filed a claim with the insurer for the consultation and was paid for it. In other words, Froehlich double billed for the consultation, apparently wanting to get paid twice! It seems Froehlich, according to the insurance company, double-dipped and now owes the patient $22.00, since the insurance company paid $22 of the $55 Froehlich billed them for, even though the patient paid cash for the consultation.

But what’s ironic in this entire story is the fact that the dentist that made the claim to the patient’s insurance company for the two-tooth bridge in January 2014, was none other than Marvin Gertzberg of New Baltimore Family Dentistry, and it seems that there’s remarkable similarity between the two practices.

The patient made an appointment with Gertzberg at New Baltimore Family Dentistry for the same appearance of an infection in the same tooth that sent the patient to CDA. Gertzberg showed little interest in the infection and was looking for bigger fish to fry, it seems. Although the patient did not have a problem with a bridge, Gertzberg reported the bridge to be “loose”, he up-sold the patient into having the bridge replaced. Once the patient agreed to have the bridge replaced, Gertzberg found that one of the anchor teeth was “decayed” and he felt he could not assure results if he built the “decayed” tooth up, and persuaded the patient to allow him to extract it. Once the anchor tooth was extracted, it meant that in order to restore the bridge, an implant had to be installed. But the implant would cost an additional $2500. Wouldn’t it have been more sensible not to have extracted, to have done the best possible restoration and proceeded from there? Not according to dentistry in New Baltimore! Not when you can charge for a bridge, an extraction and an implant. That’s big money. But it all started when Gertzberg was asked to take care of an infection on the other side of the mouth! How did it come to his finding a “loose bridge”, a bridge the patient had no problem with? We have to look deeper for the answers.

You see, at the time, Gertzberg was planning to sell his interest in the New Baltimore Family Dentistry practice, so he had to glamorize his financials and his practice; he had to make the numbers look real good and attractive to a potential buyer. He did eventually sell the practice about a year ago but it was all Hush! Hush! Don’t you think that New Baltimore Family Dentistry patients had a right to know that the practice was being sold. We do! We asked New Baltimore Family Dentistry directly, twice about the sale and they refused to answer the question. Why would it be such a secret? And now we’re informed that Marvin Gertzberg plans to retire shortly. Apparently he’s used us to his satisfaction.

Well, an inquiry with the patient’s insurer told us something more about New Baltimore Family Dentistry and Marvin Gertzberg: The patient was very dissatisfied with the sales pitches and the shoddy way Gertzberg prepped the area where he expected to restore the bridge. The patient, having extensive knowledge in the field of dentistry, periodontics, and medical science, after having examined the tooth once extracted, found the tooth to be healthy. Moreover, it appeared that the “decay” was nothing less than the degradation of the cement holding the bridge in place. Another problem with Gertzberg’s poorly crafted treatment plan: Gertzberg removed a bridge that was not causing a problem. Gertzberg removed a bridge that was spanning the space of four teeth. Gertzberg extracted a visibly healthy tooth saying it was beyond restoration. Gertzberg intended to sell an implant, and Gertzberg only provided for a bridge to cover 2 teeth. What was the plan for the rest of the gap. Patient was never told. Only Gertzberg knows. But it gets better.

A bit of fraud going on here at New Baltimore Family Dentistry

fraudWhen investigating Kurt Froehlich’s shennanigans at Coxsackie Dental Arts, the inquiry with the insurer informed the investigator that Froehlich’s claim to the insurance company for $2400 for 2 crowns was denied because a claim for the same two crowns was made in January 2014, within the limit period of 5 years. That claim was submitted by Guess who? Marvin Gerstenberg of New Baltimore Family Dentistry. According to the insurer, Gertzberg submitted a claim for dental work. for two crowns, and was paid $775 by the insurer. Gerstenberg was paid an additional $165 for the extraction. That’s a total of $840.00 (compare this to Kurt Froehlich’s $2400 for the same thing—except for the extraction—, literally!). But according to the insurance company, Gertzberg could submit the claim only if the work had been completed. It was not. When the insurance company was told that the patient left the practice because of dissatisfaction and that the bridge was never put in his mouth, the insurer stated that Gertzberg could be paid only if the work was completed, that is, that Gertzberg installed the permanent bridge in the patient’s mouth, completing the work. Even if Gertzberg had the permanent bridge made up, he could not be paid until the patient had the work completed and the bridge in his mouth. Seems that there’s a bit of fraud going on here at New Baltimore Family Dentistry; wouldn’t you think Gertzberg would know he can’t submit for reimbursement until there’s something to be reimbursed, like completed work. The insurance company is now investigating and intends to get the money back. We say Gertzberg should be disciplined.

There is still the question of why Gertzberg would remove a bridge over four (4) teeth and proceed to replace a bridge for only two? That simply doesn’t make sense. What you take out, Marve, you put back! Apparently, Gertzberg didn’t inform the patient of this craziness and the patient found out only when he contacted the insurance company!

Now think for a moment: What right does Kurt Froehlich and Coxsackie Family Dentistry have to do what he’s doing in this community and still profit by his unethical practices, and his scam of a “business model.” Can this community afford his ego? How many local residents have fallen victim to his over-inflated, ego-driven prices and walked away abused by this prestidigitator, in Bierce’s own diabolical words, “who, putting metal into your mouth, pulls coins out of your pocket.”

And how many times in the past has Marvin Gertzberg and New Baltimore Family Dentistry pulled this sort of trick and gotten away with it? Gertzberg puts a new slant on Bierce’s Devil’s Dictionary: Gertzberg’s dentistry “puts nothing in your mouth while pulling coins out of your pocket.” As a matter of fact, Gertzberg takes more out of your mouth than he plans to put in! Bizarre way to do dentistry, isn’t it?

There’s more to these two stories and probably much more in addition to these two stories. All we can do is inform the public and let the public see that justice is done. The pitiful part of all of this is that Gertzberg and Froehlich are old and at the brink of retirement and cashing in on their practices, as unethical and crooked as they may have been; they should still be held accountable, however, and an investigation should be launched to audit both their practices not only by insurers but also by the Greene County District Attorney and the Department of Health, among others.

A dissatisfied customer tells about 28 people.

There is still some hope that public opinion will take its toll on practices like New Baltimore Family Dentistry and Coxsackie Dental Arts. In the September 2015 issue of Consumer Reports, page 7, there’s a statistic called “Viral Vitriol” that reads: “A customer who’s eventually satisfied tells 10 to 16 people, on average, about the experience, according to Arizona State’s 2013 “customer rage” study. A dissatisfied customer tells about 28 people.” This blog is doing far better than that. Now Mr Gertzberg, Mr Froehlich was it all worth it?

Well, everything will come out in the dirty laundry if this goes to court. The patient will subpoena everything to show what a slick money-grabber these guys are. Coxsackie Dental Arts and Mr Froehlich have a real uphill battle on a very slippery slope if you ask us. Froehlich is going to have one hell of a time explaining to patients and to a judge how he justifies his sleezy practices.

Resident SLAMS!!! Ravena Trustless Nancy Warner

We recently published an email sent by Nancy Warner to a local resident unlawfully denying him his rights to access information under the New York State Freedom of Information Law, and telling him he’s “wasting taxpayer money.” We pointed out in our article that Warner was way out of line and was the last one who should be telling anyone they’re wasting taxpayer money. Maybe Warner feels that stealing taxpayer money is better than wasting it, after all Nancy Warner knows how to do both. But back to the subject of this article:

RAVENA RESIDENT SLAMS NANCY WARNER

ouch_gotcha

Ravena Resident Pokes Nancy Warner in the Eye. OUCH!

Far from being a trustee, Nancy Warner should be a “Trustless” but you can trust Warner to grab any moment to act like she’s mayor of Ravena. She’s not and this resident tells her so. Read on…

Dear Trustee Warner:

Thank you for your kind but inappropriate email response of 4/29/15. While you are entitled to your personal opinions, you would be well advised to avoid abrogating authorities to yourself that are not yours to exercise. You do not have the implied or explicit authority in your present purview to respond to or to deliberate unilaterally and independently of the Village Board on matters concerning the instant subject matter. Furthermore, you are egregiously overreaching any implicit or explicit authorities when you attempt to limit or to deny me the rights clearly established under the provisions of the New York State Pubic Officers Law (a.k.a. the NYS Freedom of Information Law or “F.O.I.L.”) and any such attempt, implicit or worse still explicit, as represented by your e-mail, may expose you and the Village of Ravena to investigation or even prosecution. Need I remind you at this point of the current investigation relating to the Village Board’s unlawful abuse of power in the [name redacted but it concerns the Ravena Planning Board] case? You need to learn to put a lid on it and to control your megalomaniac ego, Ms. Warner.

At the risk of repeating myself, you had no business whatsoever and no authority whatsoever to arrogantly assume a position not yours by responding unilaterally and without mandate to an inquiry not in your purview. You have repeatedly failed to provide any documentation on how my building went from four to five units. You have never provided documentation with my signature (since none exists), I have repeatedly questioned how and when I went to from four to five units, which is your (Village of Ravena) basis for my water/sewer billing. One has to wonder who you think you are. Better still, one has to remind you who you are; you tend to forget. You are an elected officer of the Village of Ravena and a servant of the residents and community of Ravena. You are nothing more but may be much less, depending on one’s perspective.

You were way out of line in your response to my email. (I was simply requesting who and when will the village attorney contact me from a previous e-mail sent from the village to me six weeks ago; in short a follow up).   The Mayor, and Mr. Mahler and Mr. Coye are the trustees overseeing the water/sewer/building departments, and the zoning/planning  boards respectively.  When it is time to discuss any issue, I will contact them first. Obviously, you are not on those committees or boards and accordingly you have no business injecting yourself into matters concerning them unless explicitly invited to do so; you have not been so invited to my knowledge.

You appear to need a reminder that village elected officers and village staff have obligations and duties to the public under their oaths of office. This is undisputed fact and has been laid down clearly in town and village law, public officers law, administrative law, and yes, in criminal law.  As you are aware, “misprision”  requires one to report crime or a violation of law; you, especially as a public servant, are obligated to report unlawful or illegal activity or or risk prosecution yourself, even if that illegal or unlawful activity is your own. I realize that’s a very regrettable situation you may find yourself in but you yourself are to blame. Your history and record of abuse of office and abuse of citizens’ protected rights is long and documented. You would be well advised to cease and desist with immediate effect your unlawful interference and obstruction of other village employees in their diligent, even if it is somewhat clumsy, execution of their duties and responsibilities under the law. In other words, Ms. Warner, back off and butt out. Should I have an issue with village staff, I shall take it up with them on an informal amicable basis; as I have for the past 25 years.  Should that approach fail,  I shall address and discuss any such issues with the Chief Executive Officer of the Village of Ravena, the Mayor, who I believe continues to be Mr. William Misuraca, not YOU.

Should you have any questions regarding this communication, please do not hesitate to appropriately, that is, within the limits of your authority, to contact me. I shall be pleased to discuss anything you may find difficult to understand or impossible to grasp; simply send me a courteous, civil e-mail.

In the meantime, please accept my sincere appreciation of your most recent communication; I indeed appreciate it for what it is.

OUCH!!! You been had, Nancy Warner!!!

And BRAVO for you, Ravena resident and taxpayer!!! More of your neighbors should follow your example. Their lives might improve dramatically!

We might be about to bust the Ravena Incest Club wide open!

We’re not done yet with the scandal behind the Ravena Health and Fitness Center and some of the unlawful finagling that went on using Ravena taxpayer money, public funds. We have a village of Ravena document that appears to split the village payment of $40,000 for the used fitness equipment for Cathy DELUCA’s pigpen. It appears that one check was made out to the NATIONAL BANK OF COXSACKIE in the amount of $18,000.00 and the other check was made out to Bob Fisk’s wife/concubine, Deborah FARHRBACH.  But the Bill of Sale signed by Deborah FAHRBACH and notarized by Michael Biscone’s secretary, Sharon E. DEWSBURY, clearly states that Fahrbach and Fisk are the “legal owners of the equipment” and that there are “no liens or encumbrances” on the equipment. If all that is true and Deborah FAHRBACH wasn’t perjuring herself by making a false oath, something simply doesn’t add up here. Question is: if . was the seller of the used fitness equipment, why did two checks have to be made out? One was a check made out to the National Bank of Coxsackie and the other to Fahrbach? Michael BISCONE is the attorney for National Bank of Coxsackie (Ravena) and acts also as Ravena village attorney. Was Michael BISCONE Bob Fisk’s or Fahrbach’s attorney, too? Is that why Biscone’s secretary notarized the Bill of Sale for the used equipment? Could it be that Robert FISK (a Persico on his mother’s side) owed the NATIONAL BANK OF COXSACKIE a note on the equipment the bank manager — at the time, Donna BISCONE —, would look bad if there were a bad debt? If that were so, then Fahrbach did perjure herself when she stated that Fahrbach and Fisk were the legal owners and that there were no liens or encumbrances on the equipment. What if Fisk had IRS tax liens in 2000 and bad credit, and had to get out from and under what was owed? So they went to the “cookie jar” (Ravena taxpayers money) to get some honey-money? So  do we have the PERSICO and BISCONE clans working together. Former mayor John T. BRUNO was hot on getting the RCS Community Library out of the building and in correspondence notes that his cousin, Josephine BRUNO (Prudential Realty), was brokering the deal. and was pushing to get the village of Ravena to get the equipment out of the building on 172 Main Street, Ravena. Nancy WARNER is a BISCONE, in addition to Donna BISCONE (retired); a National Bank of Coxsackie manager/director, Donald PERSICO, is apparently one of the PERSICO clan. Add Michael BISCONE, who is attorney for the village of Ravena AND for the National Bank of Coxsackie, and may have represented Bob FISK, too. But Fisk is related through is mother to the Persicos of Ravena, too. Looks like we might be on to something here. This is HOT! So stay tuned! We might be about to bust the Ravena Incest Club wide open! (Don’t relax yet, Jerry PERRINE, Larry CONRAD. We’re not done with you yet, either.)

runningBoundaries change or should change as we evolve through creation history. After the fact we act horrified, scandalized, disbelieving when we recall– or are reminded — of the abuse inflicted on others considered to be different from humankind: the attempted extermination of European and East-European Jews by the Nazis, the enslavement of African people by European, Arab and American entrepreneurs, and the slaughter of Christian people for for their religious beliefs. Let us not forget the Armenian holocaust and the killing fields of Cambodia, or the Palestinian scandal that has left millions without a true home for more than 50 years. Laws now forbid discrimination based on gender, race, religion, physical or cognitive challenges, age, and sexual orientation. Yet just a century ago, human beings, women and people of color, Chinese, Italians, Irish, Sikhs, Catholics, Jews in the United States, who were seen as different by those with power faced discrimination, imprisonment, lynching, torture, exploitation, and death. Life is life, human or animal, and is a gift to be respected and cherished; it’s not a choice to respect it, it’s a duty, an obligation!

We feel that this entire event is the epitome of irresponsibility not only on the part of Gem Farms but also on the parts of the county, state, and local law enforcement. Not only were 15 magnificent animals senselessly and wantonly massacred, a bunch of gun-tottin’ yahoos were allowed to play “buffalo hunter” in the most cowardly way imaginable while our taxpayer dollars were wasted on law enforcement helicopters and equipment, and law enforcement personnel who stood by and watched.

For those of you with any conscience, sensitivity or sense of humanity or civic responsibility, we urge you to contact the following animal rights organizations to lodge your protest of how Gem Farms conducted their business, how they dispatched the yahoos and their guns, and how the animals were senselessly slaughtered when there were clearly other avenues to manage the problem. Greene County IDA: “Insider Trading” by High Level Officer?

There are some credible grumblings in New Baltimore, Greene County, focusing on the Greene County IDA, the organization which is established and governed by New York State Municipal law and which is supposed to be supervised by the Greene County Legislators. But it seems that for some time now, the Greene County IDA has not had a real report-to person; in other words, although the Greene County IDA is supposed to report to the Greene County legislators and the Greene county legislators are supposed to be keeping an eye on the IDA, this doesn’t appear to be happening.

“Working in partnership with the Greene County Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Planning and Great Northern Catskills Chamber of Commerce, we offer a variety of financial and incentive based tools and management flexibility to help foster success. The IDA works towards our goals in conjunction with local communities, state and local governments, the business community and numerous regional partners with sound planning, sensitivity to the environment and the preservation of our quality of life. The Greene County IDA strives for success utilizing a positive economic development image and track record while setting the standard of Visionary Growth!” (from the “Mission Statement” of the Greene County IDA)

We attended a recent New Baltimore Republican Club gathering at which Mr René VanSchaack, executive director of the Greene County IDA, answered questions about the Greene County IDA and what it might be able to do to put the town of New Baltimore on the map. The bottom line conclusion after that meeting was that there was very little, in general, that the IDA can do for New Baltimore as the IDA, although Mr VanSchaack generously offered to assist smaller businesses in whatever way he can, the IDA is geared more to larger companies. We were convinced that Mr VanSchaack was sincere in his offer to support but at the end of the gathering one attendee stated directly to Mr VanSchaack:

Our Question is this:
Is the Chairman of the Greene County IDA Involved in Questionable Ethics?

Ethical Violations and Crime One thing leads to another.

Ethical Violations and Crime
One thing leads to another.

There are some credible allegations that the current chairman of the Greene County IDA, Mr Eric Hoglund, has been involved in some suspicious land-grabs, and that his property acquisitions are raising suspicions that he may be abusing his office, violating the IDA’s own code of ethics, and could be involved in illegal transactions, violating Article 18 of the Municipal Law of New York State, the law that governs the Greene County IDA. Article 18 of the Municipal Law deals with various forms of conflict of interest in the many organizations that fall under its regulation.

The provisions of the Greene County IDA Code of Ethics that apply to these allegations and this suspicion reads:

“8. Endeavor to pursue a course of conduct which will not raise suspicion among the public that he or she is likely to be engaged in acts that are in violation of his or her trust. Notwithstanding anything herein to the contrary, nothing shall prohibit any director, officer or employee of the Agency from acquiring property adjacent to or otherwise proximate to the lands in which the Agency has an ownership interest provided that such acquisition is not based upon the use of confidential information obtained by such director, officer or employee of the Agency in his capacity with the Agency as determined by such member after consultation with Chairman of the Agency and Counsel to the Agency.” (Code of Ethics adopted on March 17, 2011)

Apart from the gobbledegook, double-talk, blather of this part of the Ethics Code, which we doubt many of the IDA board members can read and understand, much less the average locally schooled resident, the point it makes is that (1) IDA officers must not do anything to raise suspicion of abuse of their office (You can be certain they’ll try to stay out of sight; there’s no one watching them.), (2) IDA officers can acquire property adjacent to IDA properties (Why else would they do that but to snatch a profit or seize a financial advantage?), (3) IDA officers can’t use “confidential” information obtained in their work as IDA officers, (4) this is all determined after consultation with the chairman and the IDA lawyer. What a load of unintelligible steaming bullshit! Well, this paragraph is not the only paragraph in the IDA’s Code of Ethics that is in gobbledegook, double-talk, blatherese that may have been violated, there are others in that Code that may be affected but we find that this paragraph applies most directly to our point: That the conduct of the Greene County IDA chairman, Mr Eric Hoglund, does indeed “raise suspicion among the public that he…is likely…engaged in acts that are in violation of his…trust.” The suspicion is that he may have used “confidential information obtained” as an officer and employee of the IDA.

if anything anywhere else in this so-called Ethics Code says otherwise, that’s all dumped and this applies…

But the real clincher is the phrase, “Notwithstanding anything herein to the contrary…“, which for those of you who were exposed to RCS English classes would be meaningless, actually means this: “despite anything in this Code that says otherwise…” or “although something in this Code may say differently…” or “if anything anywhere else in this so-called Ethics Code says otherwise, that’s all dumped and … applies”. So, in paragraph 8 of the IDA Ethics Code, this “notwithstanding” phase literally says IDA officers can buy up land they know will turn a profit for them, because who’s going to be able to say they used “confidential information” obtained in the course of doing IDA business? And it’s the chairman and the IDA lawyer, if they’re ever even consulted, who make that decision. But what if it’s the chairman is involved in the dirty dealing? Or the IDA attorney? Or another board member or officer? No one is checking up on him or her and his minions. Who is watching Mr Eric Hoglund other than his cronies on the IDA board? Answer: No one. Until now. So the Greene County IDA, in it’s present form, is like a private investors club getting insider information to use themselves or pass on to someone who can use it for them, or do them a favor later. Who knows? Who’s regulating them on the IDA board?

Mr VanSchaack wants to keep his job as executive director and is unwilling to be the people’s messenger to chairman Hoglund

When the question was asked, Mr VanSchaack visibly lost the confident composure he had otherwise shown when presenting the IDA’s operations during the Q&A, and he became somewhat defensive asserting that he was “lily white” and that he made great efforts to be and to stay that way. The chairman of the Greene County IDA is his (VanSchaack’s) boss, and Mr VanSchaack expressly stated thatIf you go to Stewart’s and have a complaint about the coffee, you don’t tell the kid behind the counter to tell his boss the coffee is lousy; he just won’t do it if he want’s to keep his job.” That’s tantamount to saying that Mr VanSchaack wants to keep his job as executive director and is unwilling to be the people’s messenger to chairman Hoglund for fear of losing his job. Is that the way Hoglund runs the IDA, “Kill the messenger?”

Mr VanSchaack went further to say that if there was a complaint, a suspicion, that whoever is making the complaint should do his or her homework, and get the facts. Well, we strongly diagree with Mr VanSchaack and would argue that it’s not for us to do the “homework” or to gather the facts of the case but that it’s the job of the elected officials who are elected and who have the responsibility to oversee such organizations as the Greene County IDA: the Greene County legislature and the Greene County District Attorney, in collaboration with the Green County Controller. Then the complaint or the suspicion should be brought before the Greene County legislature, the bunch who is supposed to be overseeing and monitoring the IDA. We’re doing that now.

It's not just as easy as washing your hands of it all; it didn't work for Pilate and it won't work for you.

It’s not just as easy as washing your hands of it all; it didn’t work for Pilate and it won’t work for you.

It was really bad planning by the officers of the New Baltimore Repubican Club, a party that espouses faith and family values, to have scheduled and held its meeting during Christian Holy Week and on the eve of the Jewish Passover feast! What were they thinking? Few Christians and no Jew would consider spending Holy Thursday or the evening before Passover listening to an IDA spokesperson chant his capitalist, materialist, immoral mantras on how to be the worst possible stewards of creation. (Although some of us did but for the best of reasons: to protect, defend and safeguard the interests of our families, friends, community, and town. Our elected officials don’t seem to be interested in doing that.)

It’s interesting that Mr VanSchaack did a Pontius Pilate act right on Holy Thursday, the very day on which we celebrate, remember and commemorate Jesus Christ’s symbolic washing of his disciples’ feet, demonstrating service to those you serve and lead; in other words, servant leadership. We’re writing this on Good Friday, the day Pontius Pilate condemned Jesus Christ but washed his hands of the situation. Pontius Pilate has been remembered as a coward — as not having stood up for what was morally right and legally just but caving to the mob — ever since.

The mantra was “Jobs, Jobs, Jobs.” The reality was lies, Lies, LIES.

We have some excellent lessons to learn from Ravena and Coeymans. The Coeymans town board was bamboozled into a controversial re-zoning fiasco to cater for the likes of Carver Laraway and Carver Companies and TCI, a waste-management operation, and the Tappan Zee bridge project. The mantra was “Jobs, Jobs, Jobs.” The reality was lies, Lies, LIES. And voters and residents in Ravena-Coeymans swallowed the bait, hook, line and sinker! No one in the town of Coeymans can give a figure on the number of new jobs “created,” much less how many of them are local and how many are permanent! But it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to see the damage done by wide-eyed blindness on the part of the fast-talking used-car salesmen and the hick elected officials: a drastic decline in the quality of life in Ravena-Coeymans, ridiculous increases in heavy truck traffic, new hazards and risks to residents, damage to infrastructure due to the heavy truck traffic and the vibrations they cause, dust up and in the kazoo, and population continues to decline, homes going up for sale everywhere (Example: on New Street in the hamlet of New Baltimore 50% of the homes are empty and/or up for sale!), no new [small] businesses, and the list goes on. Who’s sorry now?

We simply don’t have the population to support any substantial job demand

As for the subject of jobs we simply don’t have the population to support any substantial job demand; and why should we foot the major part of the bill and suffer the inconveniences so that people from outside the community and outside the county can come in and fill the jobs?

Business is not going to move to New Baltimore or anywhere else to fill the town treasury or to offset residents’ taxes

While Mr VanSchaack booms on about tax revenues and development, it seems he’s comparing apples with oranges. First of all the low current tax revenues are due to the fact that much of New Baltimore is still agricultural and pays an agricultural rate. Residential property would pay more, and commercial/industrial even more. That’s true. But what he seems to be overlooking is the fact that a business is not going to move to New Baltimore or anywhere else to fill the town treasury or to offset residents’ taxes; they move to an area and invest in it because there’s something in it for them, not for the area. Let’s not be the fools that Coeymans and Ravena were when Carver Laraway bamboozled the Coeymans town board. At least Ravena mayor Bill “Mouse” Misuraca had something to gain by making backroom deals with Laraway, it got Misuraca elected (for all the good that did for Ravena), the only one’s that benefitted from that thieves’ bargain were Misuraca and Carver Laraway.

What Mr VanSchaack and the town board of New Baltimore have to do is wake up and meet reality eye-to-eye. Maybe Mr VanSchaack’s figures, however manipulated they are, do show a net $35,000 a year increase in tax revenues, what he’s not factoring into that figure is how much it’s going to cost every year for the town and county residents and taxpayers to repair the damage to the infrastructure done by the increased traffic, etc. And what about the quality of life in the town? Look at what Coeymans and Ravena have to deal with now! Sorry, but it doesn’t add up to an improvement when you do the math. And we’re not ready to give our community or our traditions away for a pittance.

It’s the duty and the obligation of the Greene County Legislature and the Greene County District Attorney to look into these allegations levied against Mr Hoglund

Well, we are hereby serving notice on the Greene County Legislature and the Greene County District Attorney that this suspicion exists and that it needs to be investigated immediately. The allegations are no longer under wraps but are now public and it’s the duty and the obligation of the Greene County Legislature and the Greene County District Attorney to look into these allegations — to do their homework, as it were — by examining Mr Hoglund’s performance and his recent purchases of real estate. After the mandatory investigation then to make a public statement of their findings and of any action to be taken. If there is any ethical violation or law-breaking going on it’s to be thoroughly and conscientiously investigated and prosecuted. The residents and voters of Greene County and New York state have a right to know and a right to ethical conduct and integrity in our public agencies.

The water park that has been tossed around for the past several years…The project is stagnant. It’s going nowhere.

We’d like to close with a short note on the water park that has been tossed around for the past several years. When asked about the status of the water park project, Mr VanSchaack did some hemming and hawing, but ultimately talked himself into a corner and had to admit that the project is stagnant. It’s going nowhere. So, people, forget it for now. It was a lousy idea in the first place and apparently the corporations who were playing with the idea of putting it in New Baltimore have other plans. Hell, if it were such a great idea in the first place don’t you think that any corporation would have literally jumped on the idea and make it a reality. Sorry, but it’s a load of smoke and mirrors until proved otherwise.

In the meantime, join us in demanding a thorough and conclusive investigation of the Green County IDA and it’s chairman, Mr Eric Hoglund, and at the conclusion of that investigation, regardless of the results, to establish an executive office that is responsible for supervising and accounting for the operations of the Greene County IDA. At this time, the IDA is not sufficiently supervised or monitored and operates pretty independently. It’s very suspicious when the chairman of any organization is the person who is responsible for determining ethics, especially when that chairman is the subject of allegations of misconduct.

Stories in the works: Our investigation of Mr Jerry Perrine of Ravena-Coeymans notariety and the special treatment he has received in terms of services, assessments, and code violations from his friends in Ravena village hall and Coeymans town hall. He’s apparently a mutant created by splicing genes from Cathy Deluca, Nancy Warner, and John Bruno—but sneakier and better at using the old backstabbing, ambush technique. Laverne “Larry” Conrad and his cronies may have thought they could keep their secrets … but it all comes out when the right questions and the right people are asked.  There’s truth in the saying that “There’s no honor among thieves,” and they throw each other to the sharks as soon as the water starts getting hot around them. But that’s all coming to light and ready for exposure. Stay tuned!
