What do the Signs Tell Us?

14 May

Warning: If you are a student or a minor, please leave this blog now.

The Rats Are Busy!

Flash! We just received a very disturbing comment from a local businessperson… that comment reports that the Coeymanazis are making calls to all of the member businesses of the GREATER COEYMANS RAVENA COMMUNITY BUSINESS GROUP telling them that if they don’t leave the group, that the Coeymanazis will force the community not to do business with them. That’s how the rat pack in Coeymans works!

Read the Comment under Know What It Feels Like to Be BLED to DEATH?

Stop those RATS! VOTE NO!

Cruising Through the Area Today, I Noticed All the Signs Marring the Landscapes, and I Thought About What Those Signs Tell Us. Here Is Our Reading…

Ingenious! Brilliant!

This One’s Our Hands-Down Favorite and It Speaks Volumes!

This one simply shouts out: “We’ve Had Enough of Your Sign Vandalism! Try Trashing This One, Stupid!

With all the nastiness in this budget controversy, probably the worst demonstration of moronic behavior has been the YES! side’s trashing and vandalism of the NO!’s signs. Totally unfair play but Hey! were in the RCS district! Do we expect different? But this local business person’s response was unique and utterly brilliant–a courageous challenge to the local gangsters and the Coeymanazis! Bravo!

Then we have the signs that take the children hostage and ransom them for a vote. Here’s one of them:

Pure Propaganda

This One Is Just Pure Propaganda. It Appeals to the Emotions, Not to the Head. One of the lowest tricks in the book to get people to do what you want them to do is to tug at the heart strings. We see it regularly on the television when they show dirty South American or Aftican children and appeal to you to adopt one with your check! Or those animal rescue commercials with the abused puppies and kittens; how can you not give and give more? Well This is no different, they’re taking the school children hostage and demanding your vote as ransom! Don’t fall for it!

The sign is posted conspicuously on the lawn of the home of a Coeyman’s town justice.  Why is that important you might ask? Well, New York State has what is called the Code of Judical Conduct that governs a justice’s or judge’s conduct. Specifically,

  • Section 100.5   states that  ” A judge or candidate for elective judicial office shall refrain from inappropriate political activity.”
  • Section 100.2    “A judge shall avoid impropriety and the appearance of impropriety in all of the judge’s activities.”
  • Section 100.3    A judge shall perform the duties of judicial office impartially and diligently.
  • Section 100.4    A judge shall so conduct the judge’s extra-judicial activities as to minimize the risk of conflict with judicial obligations.

It really looks like the judge has made a big mistake. By placing that sign urging a Yes! vote on his front lawn the judge is broadcasting that he is partisan in a heated political debate centering on the 2012-13 school budget. In addition, and considering much of the illegal intimidation, harassment, vandalism that has been going on during this debate, he is broadcasting that he is not impartial but supports the group for the budget over and against those opposing the budget;  he is supporting the special-interest teachers union. Furthermore, it’s not enough we have one ex-cop in a judge suit (H. Warner), now it appears we have a town justice broadcasting that he supports the political group spearheaded by unethical and atheist teacher Matt Miller and the Jerry Deluca gang, the Bartlett-Hummel-Dingbat gang of Coeymanazis. The judge, in other words, has broadcast loud and clear his potential for bias and prejudice and should not be on the bench!

Read more about the Rules at Rules Governing Judicial Conduct of the Commission on Judicial Conduct.

We have pictures of the sign and we will be filing a formal written complaint to the State Commission on Judicial Conduct demaning that town justice Dardiani be sanctioned or even removed from the bench for his unethical conduct! (There will be more on this issue after the vote, too.)

We All Know About Clusters, Don’t We?

Flooding the area with signs all over the place makes the false impression that there’s also numbers behind the signs. That’s not so in the propaganda world. But it does influence some of the stupider one’s seeing the signs. What it does mean is that they don’t have what it takes to pursuade people with sound facts and figures, so they’ll try to make them think that they are big enough to carry the vote. It’s just a smoke screen, people.

The cluster effect also means that this is a bunch that, like their signs, stick together…they don’t have the guts to stand alone, they can only act in a pack, like rats, under cover of darkness.

Please note also that the signs are impersonal, have no warmth, no personality, they’re plastic just like the people they’re advertising. Think about it…store-bought, cold, plastic…are those the kind of people you want making your decisions for you?

They’re Blowin’ It Out Their Butts!

It’s a snow job but did you even consider what all those signs are costing them? Who’s paying for it? And what are they getting out of it? Well, if that budget gets passed, we all know who’ll be paying the bill, YOU!

This is another example of the “appeal to their emotions” type of propaganda: the luvy-duvy crap…manipulating you through the symbols that the pictures and the colors represent:

You’re Being Manipulated!

This is basic psychology 101 but you’d be surprised how many geniuses fall for the ploy. It’s the same level of manipulation that they use when they take the kids hostage for your vote. This time it’s like a child’s note written by impersonators…tug, tug. You have to see through their tricks and how they affect you.

I’ll close with just a couple of signs that really have a message; you can see it as well as feel it. The first sign, the truck, is one of those signs rich in meaning. here are a couple more:

Purely Simple and Honest; No Hype. Handpainted by a real human being!

We liked this one because it’s honest and human. A real person took the time and energy to create this sign that expresses his or her position and calling out to the reader to vote NO! How good does it get?

And this one has the same effect but it’s also asking the reader not to soak up all the toxic waste that’s been fed to them by the Coeymanazis but to know the facts.

Use Your Head’s People!

This is a real person speaking to YOU! Telling YOU to use your head, your God-given intelligence to know the facts for yourself. Don’t be bullied, intimidated, harassed or over run by the sign clusters of rat packs. Just know the facts and vote NO! Simple, to the point, honest. Not plastic, not mass produced; just another human voice going out to the reader.

But of all the signs we’ve shown and commented on, the one that says it all is the lone sign, standing there, challenging, courageous, made with human hands, it’s message as simple as its design:

Strength and Courage; Independent!

It’s Judy Sylvester, a courageous woman with the guts to stand alone, not in a cluster, powerful in the simplicity of her message. That’s the kind of persons we need on the RCS Board of Education, courageous, human, unoffending, smart and independent. Judy Sylvester, like her signs, can stand on her own and doesn’t need a rat pack to back her up!

Thank you! Judy!

By the way, did you know that Howard ENGEL, a candidate for re-election to the RCS CSD Board of Education is a teacher married to a teacher, and is member of the teachers union at Averill Park? Did you know that candidate for election to the RCS CSD Board of Education Edward “Teddy” Reville is married to Engel’s sister? Sunilda Swan is also a former teacher. A. Whalen is a retired Teacher. Sitting board member James Latter’s wife, Amanda Latter, is a math teacher at the RCS middle school. Particularly disturbing is the Board of Education meeting of November 1 at which residents call for the immediate resignation of sitting Board member James Latter for breach of confidentiality and endangerment of a student, RCS Sports Association misuse of funds, questions regarding the RCS Sports Association’s non-profit status and 990 tax returns (non filed). O’Connor is a teacher. And you still don’t think the teachers are running the RCS BoE? In the name of fair play, get the teachers off the Board of Education!

Special Notice: We make every effort to be truthful, complete, fair, and balanced on this blog; therefore, if you see anything that you know to be false or incorrect, or if you have additional information to clarify any issue, please let us know by e-mailing your information or by leaving a comment. By the way – above you mention “Then we have the signs that take the children hostage and ransom them for a vote.” and point out a “Vote Yes for Kids”. You failed to mention that if the person taking the photo of the box truck took a step and a half to the left, in the background you’d see a large wooden sign saying “Vote NO for our kids” back by the tree line.

Mea culpa! I’m getting paranoid walking/driving around the RCS district with a camera in my hand and not looking or sounding all that much like a local. I’m sure to miss something when I have to watch my own back around here 😉

      Thanks for the pointer, though!

Now that’s a local opportunity I shall not want to miss 😉 I wonder if I could borrow some for the Coeymanazis; they might pull off enough to hang themselves! Thanks, again, S.!

I have been debating with myself, back and forth about voting yes or no. I do find the teachers to have been overwhelmingly excellent. I do like the pool. I do like the music program, etc. I have worried about the financial issues and how a defeat will affect programming. However, after reading the comment from the business owner in the “beld to death” story, I have to vote no. I cannnot be on the side of blackmail, disrespect, and scare tactics. This uncivil actions has swayed me against them. I cannot stand on the same side of the bullies and vote yes. Even still, I worry about the school. I also worry that we are only witnessing the beginning of the troubles, that it won’t end tomorrow, and may actually get worse.

Welcome back, Cookie! Too much worry, Cookie. The positive side of the defeat is that it will force a closer look at austerity measures that have to be taken to ensure survival. The budget is trying to give everyone what they want and in so doing will destroy what they have. We need to proceed cautiously in these times, make the best with what we have and trim up. There was yet another financial disaster on Wall Street this week. We are not out of the woods yet; not out by a long shot. People have to be sensible, not simply blindly idealistic. You know, sometimes very lean times bring very productive times. Think of a harsh winter, for example, many creatures, bless them, perish, only the strong survive to further strengthen the species. Were it not for the culling effect of the harsh winter, many weak and feeble creatures might survive and dilute the species. Even when there’s plenty, making do with less is better…the hard times don’t feel as hard. The budget is unrealistic and out of sync with the times. What we need to do is become realistic and be sensible. We also need to send a message to the do-no-gooders that their tactics simply do not work. We must, simply must think in terms of community like a harvest, everyone together in a common field doing the common work and forgetting self in the rhythm of the common work. Until we re-inject that notion of community and stop thinking of selves, this community will never work; it will always be a frightened, barren, fearful place where tyrany reigns. Sending a NO! to the tyrants will be a step in the direction of putting us on the right track.

Thank you for your comment and welcome back…we missed you!

      Peace!

Cookie – please keep in mind that not all school supporters act like that, nor do they support those people’s tactics. Just like I don’t hold against the “no” voters that fact that [REDACTED] hasn’t paid his taxes or [REDACTED] hasn’t seen a district policy he hasn’t personally violated.

I don’t pretend to think that discussion here on a blog will change anyone’s mind; I would believe your mind was pretty much made up before reading the other disappointing story.

I think we can pretty much guarantee it’ll get worse. There’s no real end in sight. With the makeup the BOE will have, the shenanigans will likely continue for a few more years.

Money is not always the answer. Many of the “yes” voters aren’t simply voting to throw money at a problem. It comes down to the same reason many of you are voting “no”. Most of you don’t trust the BOE with your money. I don’t blame you. I don’t trust the BOE to make *appropriate* cuts. Things like the music program will be cut, while items such as the pool (which never should have been built) will be left in. It really makes no sense. There’s lots of things that NEED to be cut at the school. But I don’t think this BOE is capable of having a realistic discussion about it. I don’t feel this Superintendent has the ability to guide the district though this situation.

If anything, many people are voting “yes” because at this point in time, it’s the lesser of two evils.

So here we are. Voted up or voted down, we’ll continue to have issues.

Thank you, Simon, for your comment.

I have been accused of being “negative,” “hateful,” “one sided,” “a fraud,” “deceitful,” etc. because no one likes to hear about their problems, especially if you’re hitting the nail on the head, it hurts. Even more so in a community that for generations has unofficially elected a sacred class who do anything and everything but do no wrong (because if you point it out, there’s the Coeymanazis, the rogue police force, and the idiot sockpuppet judges to shut you up and put some fear and anxiety into your heart!).

In my article “Clinically Speaking” I addressed the pathological conflict situation in the RCS District and I continue to stand by that opinion, all the more so that one month later all the worst-case scenarios have proved to be even worse.

I do disagree, however, that a blog, this blog, or any social media cannot make a difference. Judging from what I have heard and seen, people do gather to the watering hole. Some may agree, others not, but they are thirsty and where there’s fresh water, they’ll take a sip. Moreover, for an extremely local blog, more than 15,000 readers is quite a testimony; someone’s reading it. Comments and emails, too, demonstrate that the blog is raising eyebrows as well as awareness. People have even printed out pages and distributed them to those who might not have been aware of the blog or who might not be computer savvy or have a computer (yes! they do exist!). We’ve reached an unprecedented number of residents and non-residents awareness (and anxiety) is high. So, Simon, I will disagree with your take on [this] blog[s]. The Coeymanazi display at the business association meeting and their efforts to coercively influence the vote are proof of the notorious blog’s effects.

What can be done? Nothing short of brainwashing because even the next generation has been exposed to the corruption at the hands of teachers, puppet parents, and the corrupt media, and are so alien to morality and ethics, imprisioned in their own self-world that the youth in this area think it’s their heritage, their tradition, their patrimony. Sadly, it is.

As you might have guessed, I’m an educator and a mover but I see no hope for the area until the majority get some cojones and take steps to help themselves. The pandemic affective/mood disorder is deeply rooted and the Coeymanazis make every advantage of it. They and their collaborators must be the first to go.

I don’t dispute the fact that you have visitors. Personally, I was looking forward to the information about the Sports Association you had eluded to, and more about the coppers in Coeymans. I’m savvy in the dealings of the school, but less so in the community.

But then the budget got in the way.

As for the evidence, I only point to the Albany County web site denoting outstanding tax bills, and for the other the video of the Board Meeting where the person admitted to not following policy. The first (to my understanding) is still a pending situation in the legal system, the second was admitted to in open session with no consequences doled out by the governing body (BOE).

        Sorry. Went over your head.

“Visitors” is a Web Admin term for a string of hits to a web site due to a single user or process, normally during one specific session. You may feel free to refer to them as “Readers”, but as you said you’re making a leap of faith that they’re actually reading and not just looking at that cool photo with the blood dripping from the animal’s mouth.

Yes, it is something of a “leap of faith,” I’ll have to admit but without faith and hope, where are we?

P.s. I just got back from voting and doing the exit survey. Seemed orderly enough. Very nice senior citizens (wo)manning the stations. People, despite the rain, appeared upbeat. As I say, let the people speak even if it’s gotta be behind curtains 😉

I understand the elements of the actors and situations. I could go into paragraphs detailing how diluted the main blog articles here (your responses are more well expressed) due to their circumstances, conduct and actors involved.

I have never liked manufactured signs in general; I won’t debate that issue with you.

The sign that I think really hits an issue the best, and comes closest to really making the viewer really think about the issues is the one across the street from Becker (in the general area of the 9W post office) which points out the blatant fallacy being portrayed (especially by a sign across the street) that Becker will close if the budget is voted down. While such a closure might be step 6 on a path that step 1 is a no vote tomorrow, the implication that a No vote tomorrow = closed Becker on Wednesday (my exaggeration of course) just is a simple scare tactic. While I don’t recall the exact text of the sign to quote it here, that sign does so much more to further a legitimate consideration of the issues than lettering on the side of a truck calling people insane does.

The truck is getting photographed as a novelty item. Don’t read too much into it.

I agree on most of what you say.

Oh! I’m not reading too much into the truck at all. I realize it’s a “novelty item” but that doesn’t relieve it of its meaning value, after all something is novel only because it’s novel, novel because it’s new, and because it’s new it’s not fully understood and in process of evaluation and interpretation…otherwise it would be banality, commonplace, and there’d be no need to photograph it or otherwise capture the symbol.

      Peace.

So a sign with a heart is designed to elicit an emotion, but a box truck with “You’re All Insane” on it isn’t?

I think one relates more subconsciously to the red script accented with a red heart and that one relates more cognitively consciously to the “You’re all insane.” They each in their turn speak to different levels. Superficially and generally, you are right, both will elicit some sort of emotion but the childlike script with the heart is more intrinsic; the “You’re all insane” makes a relative statement that may or may not be relevant to one’s self image. It requires one first of all to read and understand the statement, to put a value on it, to determine whether that value is good or bad (moralize the statement), then to determine whether the statement relates to one’s self or to the other (relativize the statement). After going thru at least those steps the reader assigns a significance to the statement (significate the statement), determines if it requires a response, and then reacts as s/he emotes is appropriate. Are you now OK with that statement?

        No. 🙂

The original piece similarly doesn’t mention all the simple “YES” or “VOTE YES” signs while giving credit to the simple “VOTE NO” signs.

The greater point is neither sign serves it’s purpose. Does the owner of the truck (whom we all know who it is) really think that putting that text on the size will convert one single vote? I would put to you that it will do more to bring out the *yes* vote. Of course, I will also put to you that the heart sign will do more to bring out the *no* vote.

Perhaps the best move the Yes and the No vote could do is not put out any signs at all. 🙂

I’m not prone to telling people what they know but rather what I know and where it comes from; that’s the only knowledge I can vouch for.

Your point is, on surface, valid; however, what you’re missing is the fact of known circumstances, conduct, actors, etc. which go into the formula. I spoke of the process that likely goes on in the readers or perceiver’s processing of the perception of the signs in a general model. It would take a book-length response to your comment to go into the minute elements of that process. Trust me, I’ve done this before.

It’s not the size of the text but the entire gestalt of the perception; that’s what becomes significant. It’s the experience of the truck, the uniqueness of the compostion, the text, its message, the response of the reader to the text, etc. The dwarfed individual is in awe and reflects on the mystery of the meaning of what’s happening…even in a quasi-brain-dead Coeymanazi. Why do you suppose so many people allegedly needed to stop to photograph the composition? Because it was exhausted of mystery, of meaning, of intrinsic signification, of effect potential and dynamic. The composition is ingenious because it’s constructed and contrived!

The other compositions are not constructed and contrived; they are merely meaningfully symbolic having an extrinsic message with an intrinsic meaning, which makes them more deceptive. The effect of the simpler Yes! signs is diluted by the synthetic signs; otherwise, you may be close to being astute in attributing to both the same symbolic significations.

The signs overall are an abomination and a poor substitute for the residents’ committed questioning and fact-finding. Most will vote not by facts but by the degree of their inundation with signs. That’s a regrettable observation.

Those of us committed to reframing their attention and redirecting it have our work cut out for us because we are in the minority both in terms of those who want to be helped and those who are counteracting anything good that can be made of the present situation.

        Peace!
