Democracy is Dead!

This article will set you straight on the fact that democracy even at the local level is dead! We are told by political committees who will be our choices in the voting booth. That’s not democracy. We are not provided with the least bit of information on the candidates’ education, training, experience, qualifications for the job until the very last minute, if at all. That’s not democracy. Locally, and it seems nationally we have become a one-party system in a one-horse town. That’s not democracy. How has the term “public servant” taken on new meaning and how has it been re-coined “self-servant” by our so-called “elected officials? How is it that we taxpayers, voters, citizens are abused and insulted by the egomaniacs we elect based on their lies and misrepresentations. How they, once in office, ignore us until next election year. We see that locally, at the state level, and nationally. We can and much change the situation where we can: LOCALLY.

Democracy is DEAD in New Baltimore, Coeymans, Ravena, New York, the U.S.A.!!!

Do we really want schizophrenics running our towns, cities, the nation?

We still call them public servants but they have other ideas. They have their mega-egos and their personal agendas. They’re all warm and cuddly Dr Jeckyl when they knock on the door asking for your support and vote; they are voted in and they immediately turn into Mr Hyde. They no longer know us! Do we really want schizophrenics running our towns, cities?

Why is it that we continue to elect people we totally don’t know? Why is it we don’t demand a résumé or a public town hall meeting to ask these people questions? Why is it we let political party committees and political party-run election boards to tell us who we have to vote for? That’s why we get crooks, rejects, scoundrels, and ding-a-lings running for office and then you elect them to spend your tax money, judge you and sentence you, to control your lives. Now does that make any sense to you? You are always bitching and moaning but won’t lift a finger to help yourself. Now does that make any sense? You are constantly bitching and moaning that nobody listens, and then you elect people who don’t give a damn! Now does that make any sense? Keep staring into your smartphone and make some more virtual friends on Facebook. That really solves our problems!

Let’s face it, government, especially local government, the government that most directly affects our day-to-day lives, is an abysmal failure.

They don’t seem to be able to understand that public service is not self-service…

First, it appears that only egomaniacs want to run for public office these days. Hardly any of them have a clue about the job they say they want to do for us. Most aren’t even schooled in government and most come from blue-collar jobs. Some are absolute rejects. If they do come from a business background they don’t seem to be able to understand that public service is not self-service, and that the taxpayer is not the same as a retail customer. If our local elected officials and our local public employees don’t look at us as if we’re the enemy, they look at us as if we are an ignorant consumer. The end result is that we lose all respect for them and they for us; instead of public servants we face public enemies—until election day rolls around again.. Nothing gets done but they get paid. Can you see what’s wrong with this picture?

Here are some local examples:

We have a very unpopular Superintendent of Highways, Denis Jordan, in the Town of New Baltimore. The word on the street is that he’s incompetent, ignorant, and a crook. He has a history of using public employees and town equipment for private favors. We’ve reported on that several times already, and we’ve provided details and evidence. He has no clue as to road planning, design or construction. Yet, he’s been re-elected at least 3 times; the last time he won by a mere 1 vote. The town residents are basically to blame for this deplorable situation because they have become apathetic and don’t come out to vote; they’d rather stay home, complain, and start another rumor. That always works in the American democratic system.

Highway Superintendent Denis Jordan literally intimidates and ignores the Town Board, and frequently brings in his own people to confront the Board, including his own attorneys (paid by the taxpayers of New Baltimore. Who else?).

When the Highway Superintendent Mr Jordan isn’t tinkering with the town equipment, which he apparently does for a great deal of the time he is at the Town Garage, he’s using Town equipment for questionable local projects, while ignoring work necessary to avoid accidents, injury, and Town liability. He’s caused damage to private property that goes ignored by the Town Board, and he’s created numerous roadway hazards in the Hamlet that no one, including the Highway Department, want’s to even mark off for the public’s safety.  The New Baltimore Town Board ignores that too. Mr Jordan is receiving more than $53,000 a year in salary, plus benefits (many of us don’t have), and apparently plans to collect a pension. He’s just barely graduated high school, has no job-specific training, doesn’t attend any continuing education courses, conferences, workshops, and is generally a non-achiever. Chances are he’ll collect a fat pension if he’s not investigated and criminally charged, and his pension either revoked or reduced to cover the damage he’s done in the Town.

That’s one example. Let’s move on to the New Baltimore Town Board, currently comprised of a Town Supervisor Mr Nick Dellisanti, a boardmember and Deputy Supervisor Mr Jeff Ruso, and three boardmembers Shelli vanEtton, Scott Brody, and Chuck Irving. Actually, the names are not really important but most Town residents don’t know who is on the board so we’d like to refresh their memories.

New Baltimore is a one-party town; Democrats in New Baltimore can’t even cough up a candidate to run against Ruso.

Dellisanti, originally from downstate, was a newcomer to local government 4 years ago, ran for the 2-year supervisor position and won a second term. Barely got his feet wet in the 4 years on the job, and now has decided he does not want to run again. Deputy Jeff Ruso, who ran for supervisor once and lost, ran for town board member along with his sidekick Dellisanti, and won a seat on the board. Ruso is now running for town supervisor again but here’s the tickler: Ruso, a one-time loser, a Republican, is running unopposed for the office of New Baltimore town supervisor. The Democrats and other political parties in New Baltimore can’t even cough up a candidate to run against Ruso. So, you see, the situation is just as we’ve been describing it all along: Democracy is Dead, for at least for sale in local and national politics. Voter apathy has led to a one-party town; no choice. And you think this is getting better?

The New Baltimore Town Board has no balls; they are derelict in their duties and obligations to the residents of the Town.

We mentioned that New Baltimore Highway Superintendent Denis Jordan has been getting away with murder in the town, and the Town Board does nothing, despite the fact that they have certain options under New York State Law. Another option would be for the Greene County District Attorney, Joseph Stanzione (R), to get involved and do an investigation of the operations of the Town Highway Department. Another would be to call in the New York State Comptroller for a special audit. Of course, these are all options that depend on honesty, integrity, and good practices, none of which are to be found in the Highway Department. And the New Baltimore Town Board has no balls; they are derelict in their duties and obligations to the residents of the Town by ignoring the wrongs done to taxpaying residents! All the Town Board has to do is ask for help in dealing with Jordan…what are they afraid of?

New Baltimore taxpayers have to pay the bills but are getting nothing in return except abuse, excuses, indifference, and ding-a-lings.

Here’s an example of ding-a-ling local government: In June 2017 we sent an email to Mayor William “Mouse” Misuraca of Ravena, Supervisor Phillip Crandall of Coeymans, and Supervisor Nick Dellisanti of New Baltimore. The request read:

Good morning, Town and Village executives:

It’s an election year again and we’d like to follow up with you to ask you to please provide your self-assessment of what you’ve accomplished during the past 1-2 years of your term in office.

Would you please provide us with a short list of the top ten items you feel are your most significant accomplishments during your most recent 1-2 years in office. A short description of how the most important of these items and how the item benefits your constituents, your residents and the taxpayers of your town or village would be very helpful.

Please limit your list for up to 10 items. If you list less than ten that’s fine too.

Please be advised that these items will be published. If you choose not to reply we will note that fact too. Please reply before Friday, July 14, 2017.

Thank you for your attention.

The Editor

We followed a month or two later asking again for their list of accomplishments, hoping to be able to publish them prior to the November elections. The only response we got was from New Baltimore Supervisor Nick Dellisanti, to his credit, but what he included in the list was a bit surprising (See the actual list here.)

One item was “change the wording from ‘mandatory’ to ‘voluntary'” in the Comprehensive Plan, changing the number of zones on Route 9W from six to four. Big news, right? A word change! Now that’s an accomplishment!

A couple of years ago, the Town handed over one of the town parks, the Cecil B. Hallock town park, to a Greene County travel baseball team, the Outlaws, who, for their own purposes “overhauled the park.” Mr Dellisanti thinks that handing over a town park to an outside baseball team is an accomplishment. We differ in that opinion.

Mr Dellisanti states that his administration lowered taxes three years in a row but is not specific on that one. More on taxes and assessments below. But lowering taxes in view of the disadvantages caused to taxpayers living in New Baltimore is only fair. But Mr Dellisanti thinks this is an accomplishment worth noting.

Another item listed by Dellisanti is the creation of the “Friends of New Baltimore Recreation Committee,” whose purpose is to raise funds for park improvements. Like handing them over to outside baseball teams and cricket associations? Parks are a nice, not a necessary. Well-planned, designed, executed roadwork is a necessary. We don’t have that in New Baltimore. Effective drainage to prevent property damage is a necessity. We don’t have that either in New Baltimore.

Speaking of parks, Dellisanti mentions a $50,000 grant from our dunce friend George Amadore, to provide “handicapped-accessible playground equipment” for the District 2 park. WTF!!! “Handicapped-accessible playground equipment”? What the F**K is that??? $50,000!!!! What in hell are handicapped persons doing on playground equipment, anyway??? Will someone cue us in on this one, please!!! (Editor’s Note: New Baltimore population, especially youth, has been dropping for years! Who is using this playground equipment? Is this one of the town’s top priorities?) Now that we have physically challenged individuals frolicking in our New Baltimore parks along with the out-of-town baseball and cricket teams, who’s insuring these handicapped people using the “handicapped accessible playground equipment?” Mr Amadore? Mr Dellisanti? Mr Ruso?

Yeah! For rubber cells for the New Baltimore Town Board, and spendthrift NY Senator George Amadore (R)!

The fact that the town obtained “0% financing of a $2.6 million project for a new wastewater treatment plant” sounds really great but where is all that wastewater coming from? All $2.6 million dollars of it that needs treatment. Only a portion of the Hamlet has a sewerage system but no water to speak of. The wells are iffy and most go dry during the summer. The town failed several years ago in its attempt to bring a public water system to the Hamlet. 0% financing or not, this is a loan that has to be paid back by taxpayers. But let’s ask again, whose wastewater is being treated? Interest-free or not, someone’s going to have to pay back the loan.

Dellisanti lists “anticipate grant of $650,000 to reduce the cost of the new wastewater treatment plant.” Sorry, but “anticipate” doesn’t cut it, Nick; neither does the $2.6 million loan for the same plant. Give us public water and we might be able to swallow this when we don’t have to spend $30/week for bottled water to drink and cook with! Waste water treatment plant? There’s no water to flush with!

This one, Number 8 in the List of 10 accomplishments, really got us shaking our heads: “Brought Capital District Cricket Association to District 3 Park.” Yes! You read “cricket association.” And No. 9, “New Baltimore will receive $25/day for weekend games” thanks to the Capital District Cricket Association. Wow! $25/day!!! That will just about cover opening and closing the park gates! (By the way, that’s what a resident would pay to use the park facilities for a private function. The New Baltimore resident would also have to leave a $25 deposit, too..) New Baltimore is quickly running out of parks to give away.

The Town of New Baltimore now has a so-called “Veterans Committee” that hosts an annual — that’s once a year, friends — luncheon for town veterans. The town has installed a veterans memorial at the Town Hall. While we have every respect for veterans, several of us being veterans ourselves, we do question the expense of a veterans memorial at our quaint, miniscule, but cute Town Hall. We’ve been to the veterans luncheon and must say that the organizers work hard to put on a nice event for many of our veterans, almost to the man over 70 years old now! But, really, is this a town government accomplishment?

We asked for 10 items but Mr Dellisanti, apparently anxious to get the politician’s last extra in, gave us 11. No. 11 reads in part, “received grants for AgFest, Veterans, and our Summer Recreation Program” through county legislator Pat Liner and the Bank of Greene County. Really, how much? Wouldn’t this be county and private enterprise, a bank putting back into the community it’s already gouged bloody? And where’s Pat Linger getting the money? From taxpayer dollars! He’s not digging into his pockets to pull out the moula! Is this an accomplishment? We’re not quite sure what this does for the Town of New Baltimore, a town teetering on the edge of implosion and hemorrhaging residents.

Sorry, but all things considered and while we are grateful to Mr Dellisanti for at least taking the time to respond to our request, we have to admit that none of the above really addresses the real problems in the Town of New Baltimore. In fact, most of it is pretty useless: handing over parks to out-of-town baseball teams, cricket associations, getting loans, and useless memorials and programs. Come on, with our problems?!?! Is that REALLY all the New Baltimore town board can accomplish?

The Mayor of Ravena and the Town Supervisor of Coeymans could not provide us with any accomplishments during their current term of office. NONE. Because they have NONE.

The fact is that Mr William “Mouse” Misuraca, mayor of the hovel village Ravena, and disgraced-judge-now-supervisor of Coeymans Phillip Crandall, who has the nerve to run again in November, did not respond to our request for accomplishments. We assume that their refusal to respond was that they don’t have the brains to make up any accomplishments or they actually can’t think of any. Regardless, the bottom line is that the Mayor of Ravena and the Town Supervisor of Coeymans could not provide us with any accomplishments during their current term of office. That’s pretty sorry stuff. But it’s local politics and elected officials working for us — so they’d like us to believe.

NONE!

Actually, if the observable facts can be relied on, Mr Misuraca and Mr Crandall are, for once in their corrupt lives, being truthful: They have not provided a list of accomplishments because they have NONE!

We have nothing further to say about Mr Misuraca’s and Mr Crandall’s failures as leaders; their non-existent accomplishments speak volumes about their failure.

Residents and property owners in the Town of New Baltimore have been complaining to and suing the Town for years for damage by or abuse or corruption at the hands of the New Baltimore Highway Department under Superintendent Denis Jordan. We won’t go into details here because we’ve been reporting on the scandals for some time now. Just search the articles on this blog.

One example of the absolute depravity of the dysfunction in the New Baltimore Town Hall is clearly visible in the New Baltimore National Historic District, on New Street. The street and surrounding areas were neglected by the Highway Department for years. Drainage ditches were filled with debris and overgrown with weeds, culverts rotting in the ground, rutted road surfaces working like canals for runoff water, storm drains lying buried, and dead-end culverts, “Where’s this go? I dunno!” If you take a short drive to the National Historic District and down New Street, at the end you’ll see the result of one property owner’s tax dollars at work: negligence and lack of maintenance of the road owned by the Town of New Baltimore and the responsibility of the New Baltimore Highway Department has destroyed a private residential property. The negligence caused runoff water not to go to the unmaintained ditches or to the buried storm drains into the dead-end culverts. No! All of the above conducted the water into the foundations of the building and the building is now collapsing, totally useless! And the owner’s investment? That too, is zilch.

But for almost ten years the Town and the Highway Department were being informed of drainage problems and poor maintenance. Over a year ago the owner of the property demanded that the Town Board and Highway Department inspect the area and the damaged building. They inspected. They did nothing.

True, the Highway Department came down and dug things up, put in a new culvert, installed two culverts under private driveways, but the bottom line is that they didn’t fix the original problem; they even made it worse, and created new dangerous conditions. The Town board regularly informed. Nothing done.

New Street was paved under contract to Callanan Industries under the supervision of Superintendent Jordan. It cost almost $200,000 to pave several Hamlet streets. It was a nightmare, a terrible mess! A number of dangerous conditions were actually created by the paving and Mr Jordan’s “supervision” (when, if he was present). The Town and Highway Department notified. Nothing. Remember the drainage into the foundations of the residential property? Well, the paving work actually created new conduits for water flowing into the foundation.

The Town Board and the Highway Department were made fully aware of the damage and the problems over a year ago; they actually came down to New Street and were given a grand tour of the defects and deficiencies. In fact, it was Deputy Supervisor Ruso who found the dead end culvert and couldn’t find where it led, and Deputy Highways Superintendent Scott vanWormer who dug up the storm drain buried under 3 inches of soil, remarking “In 17 years on the job I never knew that was there!” Former building inspector and code enforcement officer Steve Mantor addressed a letter to the owner noting “community concerns” as to the safety of the building. But the fact that the Town’s negligence has destroyed the building and made it useless, condemnable, hasn’t stopped them from assessing normal taxes on it, and the owner has had to pay more than $1000 in property taxes alone for a building that is dangerous and unusable. Your government at work! Your government working for you and in your interest. NOT!

Now Mr Jordan’s involvement in covering up a Highway Department employee’s drug use has been exposed. Let’s see what happens now. We’re watching the New Baltimore Town Board closely, and Mr Jordan still has 2 years to go.

The owner wrote to the Town Assessor, Mr Gordon Bennett, asking for a reassessment of the building and an adjustment of the tax bill. Mr Bennett, rather than acknowledging the situation and the Town’s complicity in the damages and losses to the resident, responded in a letter, “the grievance board would be the venue for such a complaint … {I]f you would like us to mail a grievance form to you, we would be happy to do so.” Your government at work! Your government working for you and in your interest. NOT!

The bottom line: Pay your taxes. We’ll provide you with insensitive, non-responsive, incompetent government. We’ll damage your property, cost you thousands, pee down your leg, and spit in your eye. Sucker! Now, pay your taxes like a good citizen, or else!
If New Baltimore had the public’s interests and safety in mind, they’d condemn the building but that would be an admission of the facts; they won’t dare condemn the building because they’d have to have a reason and reasons have causes, and we, they know the Why’s and the How’s of the situation. They have for years and have let it go on and on and on.

In this article we’ve used New Baltimore as an example of what’s going on generally in our local communities. You’ll find similar situations in Ravena, Coeymans and elsewhere in this area. It seems to be a pattern, almost like a disease that just crosses from one community to infect the other and then, mutated, crosses back into another community. Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk-New Baltimore, plague central.

The problem is that we deny the reality that we don’t have a clue what government is or how it should be functioning. As a result, as the result of your denial and continuing ignorance and apathy, it gets only worse. In fact, New Baltimore, while horribly corrupt and incompetent, is probably the least afflicted of the three communities. Just ask residents of Ravena or Coeymans about their water system, their sewer system, how they are billed for water and sewer services, property taxation practices, building code enforcement, law enforcement, etc. Ravena and Coeymans property owners can tell you some stories to set your hair on end.

In New Baltimore the problem seems to be a core group who control the elections and their outcomes. The situation is like a mini-New York state where the entire state might vote, New York City does the choosing. In Ravena and Coeymans, the lower classes, social services recipients, the porch monkeys outnumber the property owner taxpayers. Promise the have-nots extra benefits and free schooling for their offspring and you own them. Mr Tom Dolan and his cronies have proved this in Coeymans. Ravena elected a local bartender and bar owner, William “Mouse” Misuraca, to be their mayor. Pays to have a gin mill in Ravena if you have political ambitions.

But all of these communities are misgoverned, depressed, losing population, and have terrible real estate values. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that there are more For Sale signs going up than there are new businesses coming in, most businesses are moving or dying. New Baltimore has only the 9W corridor as any potential business and you can count them on two hands. Downstaters and outside developers are buying up the legacy properties and the old farms, intending to subdivide and “develop.” Coeymans has prostituted its unique historic Hudson River scenic opportunities to court industry, heavy truck traffic, dust and noise instead of artists, shoppers and tourists. Porch-monkeys, deserted buildings, ramshackle housing, crime, drugs, and more porch-monkeys are the pride of Coeymans. Ravena is the empty storefront capital of the area, cleverly leaving the former business’s signs up to make the impression that the properties aren’t “really” empty. It’s all smoke and mirrors, friends!

The bottom line as we see it is that local government, the government closest to us, the government that affects us most directly, the government we should be able to trust has turned rabid on us. The very people we elected to take care of our community, to serve and to protect us and our families, the very people to lied when they said they’d bring us a better life if we elect them, have stabbed us repeatedly in the back. Why? How? Well, because you put them where they are. Because you allow them to do that. You let a small minority of outspoken patriots stand up and tell them like it is. If they succeed you’re right behind them, if they happen to be shut down, you run and hide. That’s how we got where we are as community and as a nation. You hide. You don’t open your mouths. You don’t take action. You don’t vote. Your don’t demand transparency, responsibility, accountability. You want to play nice. You want to kiss ass. You teach your kids to do the same. You are terrible role models. And you wonder why you’re surrounded by skanks and non-achievers? Look in the mirror, friends. You’ll find the answers there.

When you go to the polls this November and you look at the rotten selection of recycled goods you have to choose from, a selection that even makes dumpster diving at PriceChopper produce look fresh and appetizing, you can thank yourselves. Our hometown political process has turned into dumpster-diving democracy. Thanks so much for participating!

I know there’s a candidate in here somewhere!

George Amedore, NY State Senator for 46th District, Needs to do Some Homework

George Amedore Jr, is the New York state senator representing New York’s 46th senatorial district. Amedore is backed by the Republican, Conservative, and Independence parties and was first elected to the Senate in 2014 for a 2-year term. Although he was first elected to the State Assembly on July 31, 2007, and held that seat for 5 years, he gave up that seat to run for the Senate in 2012. He lost to Cecilia Tkaczyk by a slim margin but ran again in 2014 and won the seat. Members of the New York State Senate serve two-year terms and are not subject to term limits. Amedore is up for re-election in 2018. The question we have is whether he’s up to the job. (Click here to view the map of the NY State Senate District 46.)

Amedore.
Totally Clueless

If George Amedore is showing such fiscal irresponsibility and indifference as to how he’s shelling out state taxpayer dollars to nitwit incompetents like the Town of New Baltimore (Greene County) Highway Department to  enrich the likes of Callanan Industries, Inc., and to screw up our town streets, voters and oversight agencies need to take a good hard look at Amedore’s performance, possible corruption and abuse of pubic office, malappropriation of public monies, and potentially criminal behavior in the Town of New Baltimore Highway Department. Better do it now before any more money is wasted and any more damage done!

We’ve been reporting on a large number questionable practices in the New Baltimore Highway Department, and how the money’s being spent and where. All we can conclude is that the New Baltimore Highway Superintendent Denis Jordan is totally incompetent and doesn’t have a clue what he’s doing. He’s also been implicated in some shady operations for “friends” of Denis Jordan at taxpayer expense, including the misuse of town equipment and crews. (See our 2015 Election article, “Reasons Why Denis Jordan Must Go!“)

Our investigations have shown that Jordan has plenty of time to reroute creeks and lay expensive culverts on a friend’s property, and repair roads on Schoolhouse Road for some crony of his, but has ignored requests from residents in the Hamlet to fix numerous problems he’s created there by his lack of skills and poor planning — actually, Jordan doesn’t do any planning at all. Residents in the National Historic District can’t even get him to put a grate on a dangerous hole he created on one street in the Hamlet; he won’t even put a traffic cone to protect cyclists, pedestrians or motorists. (See our article, “Denis Jordan Avoids Duties to Serve Special Friends: The Case of the Disappearing Creek“}.

Our most recent investigation has uncovered even bigger problems created by Jordan. Yes, we have reported on his harassment of a local woman to take down a privacy fence for no reason at all. We have reported on his refusal to talk to the New Baltimore Town Board. And YES! we have reported on the rerouting of a creek on Lydon Lane, and the installation of expensive culverts on his buddy’s, R. Bullock’s property. From what we can confirm, residents’ claims that he did that work so Bullock would have a nice flat lawn instead of having a creek with a ditch. You see, you can really make out if Jordan is on your “A’ list. If you’re not, forget anything from the New Baltimore Highway Department…except maybe a flooded basement and ruined foundations. (See our article, “New Baltimore Town Highway Superintendent Harasses Local Woman“).

Well it does get worse, much worse.  Earlier this year (2017) requests for bids went out for repaving of a number of streets in the Hamlet of New Baltimore. Peckham Road Corporation  put in a bid, as did Callanan Industries, Inc., and Precision Roads and Driveways. Callanan, an old “friend” of Jordan’s was awarded the contract; they quoted to put down 2″ (two inches) thick layer of asphalt on the roads to be paved, an estimated 5,520 tons of material.

The concerned roads were Kings Rd, Mathews Pt, Pitcher Ln, Mill St., Washington Ave., Madison Ave., Nodine Mtn Rd, Cedar & White Birch Ln., New Rd., Union St., Liberty Ln., Baldwin Terrace, Gill Rd.  Well, if you reside in the Hamlet and don’t recognize some of the street names, it’s because either Jordan or his illiterate friends at Callanan couldn’t even get the names right. That’s a bad start already.

The paving operations were done in June 2017, and were supposed to have been done under Jordan’s supervision as New Baltimore Highway Superintendent, but he was often nowhere to be seen. One day, he left early while paving operations were going on so he could attend a local wake. He left at around 3 p.m. If it was his own wake we could understand his having to be there early but it wasn’t. It was only an acquaintance but Jordan left the work unsupervised with some very bad results.

Pedestrian Trap Designed by Denis Jordan

The bids for the job explicitly state a “2-inch” thick layer of asphalt (blacktop). Well, our investigations show that at least twice that amount of blacktop was deposited and in some places up to 4x. On some streets the roadbed was raised 4-6 inches, some edges of the street were raised a foot or more, leaving dangerous unmarked drop-offs. The idiots put a 12-14″ wide sloped curb on one side of the street which reduces the width of the street by almost 2 feet, and creates the hazard of falling if you try to get out of a car at roadside.

The drainage on New Street was worsened and more problems created. At one residence, the Highway Department created such a bank of blacktop that the front and side entrances to the residence could not safely be used. Jordan had to pour concrete steps to allow the entrances to be used but even the concrete was defective and was poured without proper foundation, and started crumbling in the first week!

Back to our little friend George Amedore. With all this going on and the Town of New Baltimore being served with Notices of Claim, the first step in a lawsuit, for many of these botched jobs by Jordan, it seems Amedore isn’t talking to anyone in the Town Hall, and his handing out money hand over fist. The paving by Callanan on Jordan’s watch is just one instance of wasted taxpayer monies. We’d like to ask Mr Amedore if he has inquired why if 2″ of asphalt were quoted more than 4 times that much was actually deposited on some of the roads, actually creating hazards!!!???

New Baltimore Math

Furthermore, the Section 248 Agreement required under the New York State Highway Law notes that a total of $284,732.00 was to be spent on the paving of the streets mentioned above. That amount is broken down with $174,732.00 coming from the CHIPS (NYS Consolidated Highway Improvement Program) and $100,000 coming out of the Town’s General Repair budgeted money. That’s the math taken directly form the Agreement for the Expenditure of Highway Moneys made between the Town Board and the Town Highway Department. The agreement also explicitly states 2-inch thick.

So, dear readers, if the Agreement states that the paving is to be 2″ thick and the bids were based on that figure, how did they manage to drop up to 4x times that much blacktop? If they stuck with the 2″ layer, wouldn’t that have reduced the price by 2-4x? So what’s the story here? Do we need an investigation by the State Comptrollers Office, by the State Attorney General? And where’s our good ol’ boy Joe Stanzone, Greene County District Attorney on this one? Can’t the Town Board do math? Isn’t anyone watching or asking any questions in New Baltimore?

Elections are just around the corner. How the New Baltimore Town Board Handles this Scandal will Determine the Outcome of the Elections. We can assure you of that fact. You know we’ll remember when Amedore comes up for relection in 2018. And when Joe Stanzone, the Greene County DA, starts stumping for re-election, we’ll remember him, too. So guys and gals, start doing what the public expected you to do when they voted you in: to clean up the crooks and to govern our town, county and state wisely. So far it doesn’t look good for you.

According to New York State Town Law, the New Baltimore Town Board has the power to investigate Jordan’s and Callanan’s opertations and to ask some very scathing questions. We’ve already asked some of those questions above but the ball’s in the Town Board’s lap now. New Baltimore Town Board: Either investigate or share the guilt. If you don’t launch an investigation you are as guilty as the crooks. After all, the entire board signed the Section 248 Agreement with it’s explicit and specific language, and the County Superintendent of Highways, vanValkenburg, signed off with no questions. Do we call that negligence, indifference, lack of due diligence? Corruption? It’s soon to be election time so you’d probably start burning rubber and get moving on this investigation. Right?

The Greene County Superintendent of Highways, Robert Van Valkenburg, had to sign off on that Section 248 agreement. Is he math-challenged too?

Well back to our candy-ass Senator George Amedore Jr and his fine representation of the people and taxpayers of New York. Georgie boy, in a letter dated — this guy’s really numerically challenged; even his letter is undated —. No matter, the letter is stamped “RECEIVED April 28, 2017, Town Clerk, Town of New Baltimore.”

Amedore’s first sentence is a clear indication that he knows nothing of what’s going on in New Baltimore. He writes, “Maintaining safe, dependable roads is important to the safety of our communities an the health of our economy.” First of all, he has no clue how unsafe New Baltimore roads are. He has no idea what Denis Jordan is doing in New Baltimore. He has no idea of what he’s talking about when he uses the terms “health of our economy.” What economy? The only economy is real estate sales with the downstaters buying up our land and homes, and everyone else trying to sell to get out of the area!

George Amadore’s Math

Amedore then goes on to cheerfully announce to Mr Jordan that he’s handing him $142,255.00 from the CHIPS (Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program) as part of the states recent 2017-18 budget. Amadore then goes on to tell Jordan that he’s going to receive 32, 471.00 in funding under the PAVE NY program and $27,682 in funds under the Extreme Winter Recovery program.

Amedore must be on another friggin’ planet. He’s totally off base! He’s clueless how this money is being spent, wasted, criminally! And this is responsible government. This is an elected lawmaker aiding and abetting incompetence, abuse of office, waste of public resources? Why is Amedore handing out hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to the like of Denis Jordan?

Amadore’s, New Baltimore’s Idea of Fiscal Responsibility!

We almost puked when we read Amedore’s closing sentence: “A strong infrastructure is vitally important to strong , healthy communities. If you have any questions….” Do we have questions? Do we have QUESTIONS? Guess What? Mr Amedore, we do have questions. One of them is How in hell did you ever get elected?!?!? But then if Denis Jordan got elected…we withdraw the question.

George Amadore Puts the FAKE in Rubber-stamp Government!!!

New Baltimore Town Highway Superintendent Harasses Local Woman; Demands Removal of Fence

For some time now we have been investigating the operations of the Town of New Baltimore Highway Department and New Baltimore Highway Superintendent Denis Jordan. We have requested confirming documents and information from the Town of New Baltimore on several key issues. We are reporting on one of those issues in this article. The second issue, that of Mr Denis Jordan’s use of Town of New Baltimore equipment and employees to do work on private property is also included in the following article (Denis Jordan Avoids Duties to Serve Special Friends: The Case of the Disappearing Creek).

Normally, in a small town you expect cliques to develop around political issues and local interests. At the same time, you’d expect that there’d be a certain neighborliness and concern for the community; after all, we are a community. Right? And we’re all neighbors. Right?

Fence seen from Corner of County Rt 54 and High Mount Road.

Well, things are a bit different in the Town of New Baltimore. You see, you may be a property owner and taxpayer, but the fascists in the New Baltimore Town Administration don’t give a shite about you or your property. They’re too busy promoting their own interests, pushing outsiders to use our town facilities, doing favors for friends and supporters while the rest of the community watches as their property is damaged and the town purse is plundered. What are we getting for some of the highest taxes in the state? Abuse, Abuse, and more Abuse! And for taking care of your property? More abuse, More Abuse, and More Abuse! You might as well move to Coeymans!

Denis Jordan, the illiterate bully Superintendent of Highways in the Town of New Baltimore, can’t seem to find the time to supervise his contractors or to learn how to maintain town drainage but has plenty of time for private projects and harassing local property owners. His recent harassment of Ms Patty Hildebrandt and his defiance of the Town Board and NYS law is sending a very disturbing message out to all residents and property owners in the Town of New Baltimore. You may be next!

The backstabbing in New Baltimore is not limited to town officials and employees cutting residents’ throats, the blood flows in rivulets in Town Hall and between Town Hall and the New Baltimore Highway Department.

New Baltimore Superintendent of Highways Denis Jordan has lost a lot of political capital and credibility in the past couple of years. During that time we have investigated and reported on a number of unethical and unlawful activities that have been going on in the Jordan Highway Department. Those abuses range from retaliation and punishing of Highway Department personnel to misuse of town employees and equipment, and noncompliance with the laws regarding proper record-keeping and contract operations.

The first item in this report concerns a local property owner, Ms Patricia “Patty” Hidebrandt, who has been selected by Denis Jordan and harassed because of a so-called privacy fence she put up. This is no ordinary property owner but one who is highly visible on Route 51, a county road, and High Mount Road, a roadway owned by the Town of New Baltimore. Ms Hildebrandt has been a New Baltimroe resident for more than 40 years and takes immaculate care of her property; she lives in a cute little house in a highly visible spot on the corner of the two roadways. Her home is picture-perfect and the grounds are always manicured and planted with seasonal flowers. The property is an example of how we’d like to see all property in New Baltimore kept.

But Denis Jordan, a Neanderthal, has some vendetta or an ax to grind with this poor woman. You see, he’s hand-picked Patty Hidebrandt out of the hundreds of other properties in New Baltimore, and has been persecuting her for months because, as Jordan alleges, she put up a fence on town property. Jordan wants her to take the fence down and has been harassing her for months.

But there’s no reason for Jordan to make such a demand. The New Baltimore Town Board even agreed that it was not a problem, and  even if the fence is on Town property it’s not in any way posing a nuisance or obstructing any Highway Department operations or plans. Jordan just wants to throw his weight around and it’s easier to bully a woman rather than go after someone else. Bully!

Denis Jordan Spells BULLY

Jordan got former code enforcement officer S. Mantor to send the property owner a letter informing her of Jordan’s claimsand telling her the fence has to be removed “from the town’s right-of-way.” Mantor never went after Ms Hildebrandt because no one really cared; only Denis Jordan cares.

Ms Hildebrandt appeared before the New Baltimore Town Board and the Board approved a temporary “license” allowing the an exception to keep the fence where it was. Jordan brought in his lacky, former New Baltimore code enforcement officer, John Cashin, live-in partner of former corrupt New Baltimore Town Supervisor Susan O’Rorke (D). Cashin decided to hit the road after his live-in partner, Susan O’Rorke, lost re-election for supervisor to Nick Dellisanti. Our guess is that Cashin couldn’t handle the honesty and integrity Dellisanti brought to New Baltimore, and so Cashin decided to join disgraced ex-judge Phil Crandall’s mob in Coeymans, where hiypocrisy and corruption still have a home and are thriving. Cashin appeared with Jordan at a Town Board meeting and spouted some unsubstantiated garbage about the Town Board not having the authority to allow the property owner to keep the fence. The Town Board responded that the matter was researched by the Town Attorney, Tal Rappelea, who wrote up the resolution. This was not good enough for Jordan, so he got his own attorney to critique Rappelea’s findings and the Board’s action.

At the June 26, 2017, public meeting of the New Baltimore Town Board, a vote was taken after Mr. Jordan brought in his own scheister attorney Meave Tooher of the Albany law firm of Tooher and Barone, who read his opinion to the Board. Jordan also told the Board he’d be having the property surveyed. Nice neighbor our Superintendent of Highways, Mr. Jordan, isn’t he? Nice guy to have to work with, too. Just ask the Town Board.

Well, at the June 26, 2017, Town Board public meeting, the Town Board carried the motion by a unanimous approval by full board, to allow the property owner, Ms Hildebrandt,  to keep the fence, saying:

“the Town Board has determined that the location of such privacy fence, notwithstanding having been constructed on town-owned land does not imperil the motoring or pedestrian traffic nor des it impede or interfere with the maintenance of said High Mount Road and…the Town Board has determined that the cost for Ms [name redacted] to remove such fence would create an unnecessary hardship on her.”

The license is temporary and the resolution states explicitly that if, in future, the town needs to use the area, Ms H. would remove the fence at her own expense. The resolution further states that Ms H. would insure the property and hold the town harmless for any claims involving the fence. Sounds pretty fair to us. But That was not enough for Jordan.

The Fence from Directly Across High Mount Road.

Denis Jordan continued his harassment and is continuing it as we write. The result: The Town Board was forced to withdraw its resolution. When the vote had to be taken but before the vote Town Board Member vanEtten stated, “I feel terrible doing this…” Deputy Supervisor Ruso abstained from the vote saying, “I’d prefer more time to consider this so in the meantime I’m going to abstain.”

Several neighbors and friends of Ms H. appeared before the Town Board at the public meeting to express their support and opposition to Mr. Jordan’s harassment, and Town Board members and town attorney Rappelea even pointed out significant errors in Jordan’s attorney’s letter, but Jordan was out for blood and wasn’t going to stop.

Jordan’s Attorney Meave Tooher of the Albany Law Firm Tooher & Barone LLP Can’t Tell A Drainage District from a Right-of-Way!

Meave Tooher, Jordan’s Attorney. Hey, girl! Who doesn’t your hair?

Nevertheless, Mr Jordan dragged his buddy ex-code officer defector John Cashin to another meeting as “concerned resident.” If Cashin had an ounce of integrity and real concern for the town or even the law, he’d find another low-life to hang out with but that’s Cashin, bald, aging, unwanted, and hooked up with another loser, Sue-Sue. Actually, two losers: Sue-Sue O’Rorke and Sue-sue! Tooher. Bla-bla-bla gibberish Cashin and Duh-duh-duh Neanderthal Jordan, so they bring in Crazy-Hair Meave Tooher, the third member of the New Baltimore Stooges. Now they have three. Put them all together, shake them up, add water and you come up with a little less than half a brain. Not bad for three shit-for-brains.

Back to being serious…. A number of residents and neighbors have appeared on Ms Hildebrandt ‘s behalf and addressed the Town Board. One resident, Ms D. Davis, who spoke from experience with Denis Jordan. Ms Davis tells the Board, “I think he’s a bully. If he doesn’t like you, he’ll make your life hell. I personally witnessed him doing favors for private residents using Town equipment…I also witnessed him…” At this point Mr Dellisanti interrupted Ms Davis with, “Dot, we’re not going to listen to this.” Normally, persons making comments during the public comment period have three (3) minutes for commenting. Ms Davis — regardless of what they’re commenting on as long as they’re orderly and civil; it’s part of the democratic process, Mr Dellisanti —  had not used her three minutes before being interrupted by Mr Dellisanti, in fact abusing her rights of free speech in public session. That was wrong. It was wrong because Ms Davis was commenting on personal experience as a witness of Mr Jordan’s unlawful conduct; her comment was not hearsay. (Editor’s Note: In fact, we are reporting on Denis Jordan’s misuse of Town equipment to make improvements on private property in our article, Denis Jordan Avoids Duties to Serve Special Friends.)

Interrupting and muzzling Ms Davis was doubly wrong because Mr Bla-bla Cashin was allowed multiple opportunities to comment, and was speculating, inaccurate, repetitive, and obviously had an agenda. We would question Mr Dellisanti on this unfair conduct in public session.

When asked directly by the Board why Mr Jordan wanted the privacy fence down, Jordan waffled. Apparently he was unable to come up with a good lie right away. First it was because he claimed it caused a problem with plowing but soon realized that that wasn’t going to hold any water; it was a bare faced lie, in fact. Just looking at the fence in the photos proves that. Jordan then decided again to lie to the Board by saying he has received complaints. When asked what kind of complaints and from whom, Jordan answered, “I’m not going to speak. I’ll have my attorney. Councilmember vanEtten persisted, “So you’re not going to tell us anything about the complaints?” and Jordan answers, “No.”

Jordan to Board

Editor’s Note: New York State Consolidated Laws, Town Law does give the Town Board certain investigational powers including subpoena power, examination of witnesses, etc. We expect that if the Town Board were to have the Town Attorney research this, Mr Jordan could be forced to keep the Town Board properly informed. Letting Jordan get away with his criminality only aggravates an already unbearable situation, undermines the Town Board’s ability to govern, and erodes trust in local government. We would recommend subpoenaing Mr Jordan to provide the information demanded by the Town Board.

Besides, since when does a Highway Superintendent defy the Town Board and bring in his own attorney to mislead the Town Board. Who’s paying for this scheister from Albany? Are we taxpayers and residents paying for Jordan’s fun and games. We’re pretty certain he’s taking the money from the public purse. Attorneys don’t work for nothing unless there’s something in it for them.

As we reported above, Jordan has been the subject of a number of investigations that adversely affect his credibility and his fitness for office. In fact, the public has shown that they don’t trust him as evidenced by the fact that he was re-elected in 2015 by a margin of only one (1) vote! There is reason to believe that his opponent would have won if there weren’t some irregularities in not counting absentee ballots. We’re also investigating that possibility.

Jordan Has a History of Abuse of Public Office…and a Shithouse Lawyer…

Nothing to worry about! Meave Tooher’s on the case…hmmm…Yup, she is. I heard a flush.

Commenting on Meave Tooher’s, Jordan’s hired-gun attorney’s, letter, Town Attorney Rappelea noted in the minutes:

“I took a look at the letter that was provided [by Jordan] and it was off baseThe case law that was cited didn’t have anything to do with fences or right-of-ways or anything of that nature. And the section of law, Section 198 of the [New York State] Town Law has to do with the creation of a special drainage district. That’s nothing to do with fencing or right-of-way licenses. But the point is that we have have this one line, one sentence in our zoning law, and we have to abide by it.”

One sentence in the 119-pages of town zoning law. Get a grip people! Rappelea caved and admitted he made a mistake. The Town Board repealed its decision granting Ms Hildebrandt the temporary “license” to keep the fence. The Board with No Balls!

So dear readers and neighbors, we have Mr. Jordan harassing a local property owner for no reason at all. But this doesn’t affect just one property owner, it affects anyone with a fence, a stone wall, anything that Mr. Jordan thinks is in his definition of right-of-way. You’re all at his mercy now!

Even if Mr. Jordan’s attorney’s are better at bullshit than law, and even if Mr Jordan’s engineering consultants hired with your tax dollars report that in New Baltimore water runs uphill! And even if Mr. Jordan’s attorney Meave Tooher of the Albany law firm of Tooher and Barone, can’t tell the difference between a fence or right-of-way and a special drainage district, Mr. Jordan does have a special talent for avoiding his duties and obligations in favor of, well, doing favors for friends. That’s the subject of the following article. Click here to read about it.

Editor’s Notes: The source of the information above is from the official minutes of the New Baltimore Town Board in public session. Other information includes documents produced by the Town of New Baltimore in response to our demand for the production of documents under the provisions of the New York Freedom of Information Law.

Denis Jordan’s wife, Diane Jordan, is currently working in the New Baltimore Town Administration as Town Tax Collector, and is running for re-election this November. Diane Jordan is also a deputy town clerk in the Town of New Baltimore town hall.

We are currently investigating Denis Jordan’s relationship with Callanan Industries,  Inc., the company who provided the paving materials for the recent paving of Hamlet streets. The were supposed to lay two (2) inches of blacktop but raised the road surface 4-8 inches, in some spots up to 12-18 inches, creating safety hazards and nuisances, reducing the road width by about 18-24 inches, and causing problems with snow removal operations, according to a New Baltimore Highway Department plow driver. That’s really magic: quote to provide 2 inches of surface and raise the road bed by 8 inches! Wow! That’s fine, though, Denis Jordan has a close relationship with his suppliers. This time to the tune of more than $180,000. And George Amadore, our NYS Senator for the 46th Senate District hands over more than $142,000 from the NYS Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS) to waste on truckloads of unnecessary blacktop!!! Somebody’s making money on this deal and it isn’t the taxpayer or property owner!

New Baltimore Town Officials are Absolutely Useless!

There’s a Bully in the National Historic District

New Baltimore's Idea of Service to Residents

New Baltimore’s Idea of Service to Residents

New Baltimore Supervisor Dellisanti, Deputy Supervisor Jeff Ruso, and Animal Control Officer Joe Tanner Refuse to Enforce Town Laws

We’ve asked this question time and again: What exactly are they doing in New Baltimore town hall, anyway? They seem to have their own agendas because they’re certainly not doing residents any big favors! They don’t even communicate among themselves and are totally oblivious to the welfare of the community they’re supposed to have been elected or hired to serve.

You see, not only did property tax bills go out on about December 28, 2017, demanding, rather extorting money from property owners to pay for local and county government and our ineffectual school  — the RCS Central School District whose Board of Education can find almost a million dollars to redo the athletic field with dangerous astroturf but teachers complain there’s no money for books! So we now get a bill for property and school taxes, and you have to really wonder what your dollars are paying for. Here’s the answer: INCOMPETENCE!

Now, in the National Historic District, residents are exposed day-in-day-out to a local resident’s barking dog. Robert and Bonnie Krug of bank robber fame, keep a dog that they use to bully the neighborhood with its constant barking from morning to evening, Monday through Friday, with special performances on Saturday and Sunday.

Residents have attempted to approach the Krugs but Mr Krug responds only with threats. Maybe that’s why the Town officers don’t seem to be able to stop the nuissance; they’re afraid of Krug! Has he handed them one of his famous notes, too?

Flyers are now circulating in the Hamlet of New Baltimore asking residents to join together to neutralize the nuissance and to force the Town of New Baltimore to enforce its laws, and to restore peace to the National Historic District, and compel the irresponsible, inconsiderate owners of the animal to control their animal.

Click here to read the stop-the-bully-flyer

A resident has already sent a copy of another flyer directly to the New Baltimore Town Board through Nick Dellisanti, Supervisor, Jeff Ruso, Deputy Supervisor and Joe Tanner, Animal Control Officer. You can read that letter by clicking this link barking-dog-letter.

Like a school bully, one person can’t really fix the problem. It takes group action. People simply have to get involved. Like a school bully, if the people with authority, the teachers and supervisors, don’t take action, someone else has to step in. We urge New Baltimore residents in the National Historic District to take action both to send a message to the New Baltimore Town Board and to the Krugs that residents deserve a quality of life and the services from elected officials and town employees for which they are paying. It’s particularly important now that the Town is sending out their demands that property owners pay taxes.

We have to ask, For what?

It's not much to ask for, is it? Then why can't the New Baltimore Town Board provide it? The Editor

It’s not much to ask for, is it? Then why can’t the New Baltimore Town Board provide it?

Double-Standard Davis: Asking New Baltimore for another Term as Town Justice?

animated-updateLee Davis lost his bid for re-election to another party-boy, Tom Meacham (R). We found that Meacham, even before the elections, was violating NY’s Code of Judicial Ethics and New York Judicial Law, and we’ll be filing a formal complaint against Meacham in the very near future. It seems that New Baltimore, like so many towns and villages, can manage only to scrape the bottom of the barrel to find non-achievers to fill their local courts with ignorant party-butt-kissers. We’ll work to change that and improve local justice.

Two candidates are vying for the office of Town Justice in the Town of New Baltimore. Two misfits are asking voters in New Baltimore to put them on the local justice court, the bottom-feeder of the New York State Unified Court System, as bottom-feeder justices. Tom Meacham has already been exposed as being ignorant and unfit for judicial office because he’s already violated several provisions of New York’s Judicial Law and Code of Judicial Ethics even as a mere candidate. Either he’s dumb as dirt or he’s sleeping with the wrong keepers. But the bottom line is: he’s unfit for judicial office, even in a bottom-feeder town court. (See our recent article on Tom Meacham at: Tom Meacham Not Even Elected but Already Ethics Violations!!!!)

Meacham and Davis: Bottom-feeders seeking election to bottom-feeder judgeship.

Meacham and Davis: Bottom-feeders seeking election to bottom-feeder judgeship.

So that leaves the sucker voters of New Baltimore with the other candidate, Lee Davis, who apparently likes to refer to himself as “Judge” Davis. It’s that very egocentric, narcissistic “Judge Davis” on his campaign signs that initially attracted our attention. Yes, Mr “Judge” Davis, has been unfortunate enough to have gotten our attention, and we think he should have your attention, too, New Baltimore voters.

The initial question we had was about Davis’ character. Why would a local candidate want to distance himself from his neighbors, the voters, his community by adopting his office as his personal identifier. He flaunts “Judge” as if he were ashamed of his name, “Lee”. Our conclusion was that he is a stuffed-shirt. Lee Davis is not the person “Lee” Davis, he’s become his role, his office. This is a very serious transformation, and it’s one that we don’t want in an elected official, because any elected official who “becomes” his office can’t fully relate to people in the way that a judge must. Anyone like that has lost his person-ality and cannot attain the necessary wisdom to judge.

Our concerns led us to do some investigation and research on Mr Lee “Judge” Davis, and what we found and where we found it will send shivers down your spines.

And so…

Mr Lee “Judge” Davis is not what you see and what you see is not what you’re getting. At least not according to Lee “Judge” Davis’ older brother, Harry Davis, whom we have found and who has shared quite a bit of background on Lee “Judge” Davis, and we’d like (1) to share that information with our readers and the New Baltimore community, and (2) demand that Mr Lee “Judge” Davis come forward with either a denial with facts or to bow out of the New Baltimore elections and go into hiding.

Tokin' Judge?

Tokin’ Judge?
Yeah. But he don’t inhale.

The most damning allegation made by Mr Lee “Judge” Davis’ brother is that Davis used/uses drugs and allegedly cultivates weed somewhere on his 7-acre property in the town of New Baltimore. Although Davis’ older brother admits to introducing the sitting New Baltimore town justice to unlawful pleasures, Harry Davis alleges that his brother is a user and a dealer/distributor. This is a serious allegation indeed and is one that Mr Lee “Judge” Davis must be called to refute and to refute convincingly.

Mr Lee “Judge” Davis’ older brother Harry, who ran for public office once in Rochester on a legalize drugs theme, insists that his brother Lee “Judge” Davis is a “hypocrite” and “limosine liberal,” too!

Harry Davis provides a long history of Lee Davis’ activities working with convicted criminals to promote their rights in prison while neglecting his disabled brother. Harry calls his brother Lee a “limosine liberal” because while he’s Goody Two-shoes on the outside, all he’s doing is making himself visible for his own interests. When Harry Davis calls Lee Davis a “limosine liberal” it’s because Harry considers Lee to be unauthentic, dishonest, and a hypocrite. Not the kind of guy we need judging our citizens.

This sounds about right because Lee Davis is running on the Democrap ticket; that’s the liberal, socialist party now in the United States, and they’re not really known for their good judgment or morals.

It’s no secret that Harry and Lee are estranged at the very least but there’s no reason for us to doubt what Harry has to say about Lee, since Harry is very candid about himself and his mistakes. But Harry’s not asking to be voted to judicial office either.

Gimme your vote!

Gimme your vote!

Among the many things that Harry has shared with us is that Lee was involved in a shady property deal that left his brother Harry out in the cold, literally, and allegedly cheated Harry out of his share. Even the suggestion of such conduct is disqualifying for a judge. If you do that to your brother, what can a stranger expect?

Harry also alleges that Lee was negligent in caring for their elderly mother, who, allegedly due to Lee’s negligence, was involved in a serious traffic accident while operating a motor vehicle, and later died of complications. Harry alleges she should never have been driving at her age and that Lee allowed her to do so. If this is true, this shows a very serious lack of good judgment on Lee Davis’ part.

Harry does tend to go on about Lee’s myriad wrongs and misconduct, and we have to understand that there’s a great deal of hurt there. There’s a great deal of fact, too, we believe. You see, Harry has presented his case perhaps a bit colorfully but given his openness and some of the supporting information, we tend to believe that Harry is generally credible.

But whether Harry is hurt or not, even if a tiny portion of what he has told us is true, this community must seriously investigate Lee Davis’ fitness to fill any public office, much more so if he’s asking to be re-elected to be town justice in New Baltimore.

Lee Davis is a small-change attorney who works for the New York State Department of Health allegedly in a unit that slaps naughty doctors’ hands. Davis was previously in the corrections system where he advocated for prisoners’ rights. Davis makes about $95,000 a year with the State of New York and that’s nothing compared to what a real lawyer would be making. So it appears that although Davis is something of a non-achiever, someone who doesn’t really aim very high, on the outside, he’s apparently a sneaky weasel on the inside, which is consistent with a cowardly, insecure personality.

If Lee “Judge” Davis cannot foster justice and fair-play in his own immediate family…

bottom-lineThe Town of New Baltimore and the Democrap party backing Lee Davis are not forthcoming with information on this character so that the voting public know who he is and what he’s all about. All we get is what they want us to know and hear. Well, now we need to hear from the Democraps on how they vetted their candidate, Lee “Judge” Davis, and from Davis himself in response to his older brother’s allegations. We don’t really expect Lee Davis to respond or, even if he does, to admit the truth. Given that expectation we have to urge voters to keep this man off the bench in New Baltimore. After all, given the allegations by Davis’ older brother, Harry, Lee Davis has some really smelly baggage.

An even deeper question is: If Lee “Judge” Davis cannot foster justice and fair-play in his own immediate family, how can he claim to do that in a courtroom of strangers? Our expectation is that he cannot and consequently he has no business passing judgment on anyone!

Our final question to Lee Davis, bottom-feeder attorney, is why he is so happy being a town justice, a bottom-feeder judge on a bottom-feeder court, and Why? he hasn’t aimed higher, for a real judgeship? Maybe it’s because he’d be under greater scrutiny, vetted, and his background investigated and the truth about Lee Davis would be out and he’d be disqualified! Maybe that’s why he’s settling for a small town Democrap backing on a small-town court. Think about that.

Given the pre-election violations by Tom Meacham (R) and the fatal information on Lee Davis (D) provided by his older brother Harry Davis, New Baltimore doesn’t have any electable candidates for the seat on the New Baltimore Town Court. That leaves only the alleged adulterer dumbass Joseph Farrell on the New Baltimore Town Court. Dunce Farrell has been around for so long he probably should be kept in a museum case as the “Petrified Town Justice”, since his brain has long turned to sludge. But Farrell has made a lot of friends in New Baltimore and they’re enough to keep him in office, as long as they can depend on him.

The New York State Unified Court System has been trying for years to find a way around the town and village court system and the problems that bottom-feeder town and village justices cause due to their ignorance and incompetence. Town and village justices do not have to be lawyers, do not have to have a college educations, and need only a high-school diploma to be a town or village justice. Did you know that? Then you have little or no background checks, and their political party backers are interested only if they can get them elected. It’s the rest of us who have to deal with them for their four-year terms, if we are so unfortunate as to have to appear before one of them. The very least we have to to do protect ourselves is to do our own homework and keep the crazies and scoundrels off the bench.

Let your vote count and write in “FairPlay” and let them count that vote.

Residents and voters of Albany and Greene counties are not second class citizens and we shouldn’t be offered the sub-standard dregs we are getting from the political parties and local party committees; that’s not what our votes are for. Our votes are not food for their egos; our votes are for the good of the people, not for the good of the politicians. Let your vote count and write in “FairPlay” and let them count that vote. Don’t give the scoundrels numbers on the balloting. Just write “FairPlay” in the write-in space on the ballot on Tuesday, and let that be counted as your vote!

That may be your only defense, Lee Davis. The Editor

That may be your only defense, Lee Davis.
The Editor

Editor’s note: We have asked one of our contributors to contact the Town of New Baltimore to ask Lee Davis if he has an older brother, Harry, and if Harry lives in Rochester. Once we have that confirmation, we will pursue other relevant questions. As of this writing, the Town of New Baltimore has not responded.

New Baltimore Superintendent of Highways and Board to be Sued – AGAIN!

animated_update_small

At the regular meeting of the New Baltimore Town Board, a public statement was read into the record by resident H.W. Vadney, who rebuffed and rebuked the New Baltimore Town Board and Mr Denis Jordan, especially, for failing in their duties and obligations under the law, and their dereliction and abuse of public office. At one point during the public statement, the agent of the New Baltimore resident whose property was severely damaged by surface water runoff due to the failure of the New Baltimore Highway Departments failure, under the personal and direct supervision of Mr Denis Jordan, New Baltimore Superintendent of Highways, served the resident’s Notice of Claim on New Baltimore Town Supervisor Nicholas Dellisanti and New Baltimore Town Clerk Barbara Finke. Mr Denis Jordan was to have been served at that time but he failed to appear at the meeting, most likely in hiding once he got word that a public statement was to be read and town officials served with the Notice of Claim. Read the public statement here: Public comment re NB Hwy Dept.

It’s incredible, but true. Three Town of New Baltimore Supervisors later and still the same dumbass in the Highway Superintendent’s office! Last election, New Baltimore Highway Superintendent Denis Jordan was re-elected by one vote over his opponent, 25-year department veteran, Alan vanWormer. Residents just shook their heads in disbelief but that was how the election was won — after the fact, of course, New Baltimore Republicans stood there pointing their fingers at George Acker and his Independence Party mob for not getting out the Independence Party voters. And, YES, the Greene County Board of Elections is a corrupt band of political hacks who dance to the tune of their own messiahs playing “Jack my Beanstalk” on their skin flutes. Crude? Yes. But frustration and anger chip away at poisonous PC.

What do you think goes through the mind of a potential buyer or developer when …

Like it or not, the condition of our town streets and roads are a factor in our property values. What do you think goes through the mind of a potential buyer or developer when they drive through the Town of New Baltimore and see poorly maintained roads, culverts that are demolished or that disappear into nowhere, erosion along the roadside, potholes filled with water? What is the sense of having a so-called National Historic District if its streets are about as damaged as the national political parties, as broken as local government. How is it that local voters continue to elect incompetent, uneducated, corrupt people to head our town highway departments, when those very people have reputations for corruption, ignorance, and incompetence? What does that say about you, Mr or Ms New Baltimore Voter, property owner? Not much, you can be sure. But that’s how you made your bed, and now you have to sleep in it. But that’s not necessarily so because there is a way, it’s called a Notice of Claim followed by a lawsuit.

Madison Ave East and New Street Drainage

Madison Ave East and New Street Drainage

Well, Denis Jordan has done it again. He’s attracted another potentially damaging lawsuit for his incompetence and arrogance. This time for extensive property damage to a residential structure on New Street in the National Historic District of the Hamlet in the Town of New Baltimore. After neglecting New Street literally for years, one resident got fed up and demanded that the Town Board investigate Why? the drainage installations on New Street hadn’t been touched for at least 3 years! Why was water draining everywhere but in the storm drains. Everyone could see it. Everyone, that is, but the Town Board and the Superintendent of Highways, who was busy as a beaver, “chasing beaver out of conduits” according to his “notes” produced in response to a FOIL demand.

The Grand Tour of Neglect and Incompetence

After having received demands for the production of documents under the New York State Public Officers Law a.k.a. the Freedom of Information Act, the New Baltimore Town Board finally woke up and smelled the burning coffee, all the water had run into a local resident’s foundation and the building was collapsing, now there was only the sickening stench of burning coffee and a looming lawsuit. So, in response to the resident’s demands to make a site visit to view the New Baltimore Highway Department’s indifference and neglect, and their incompetence, Mr Nick Dellisanti, New Baltimore Town Supervisor, and Mr Jeff Ruso, New Baltimore Deputy Supervisor, appeared unannounced on New Street, prior to the scheduled site inspection set for June 20, when Highway Superintendent Denis Jordan and his minions were to be present, and the resident gave them the Grand Tour of Incompetence and Neglect.

The Grand Tour of Incompetence and Neglect was almost complete when the advance group approached the concerned residence and the resident pointed out the erosion trails crossing New Street to the other side of the road, and pointed out the piles of stone that had washed down and had built up in front of the garage doors, when Mr Ruso pointed out the end of a culvert that appeared to be crossing the road but didn’t seem to come out anywhere. Even a bit of digging and scratching and the end could not be found. Even New Baltimore Deputy Highway Superintendent Scott van Wormer was surprised and stated that “In twenty years he never knew that culvert was there.” We have to ask the burning question: If the regular maintenance inspections were done as required by the law, wouldn’t the New Baltimore Highway Department have known about this situation? This led to further examination and it was ascertained that the poorly maintained drainage on New Street and the buried culvert drains were obviously conducting water into the foundation of the affected building!!! It was thus determined that the fact of the buried culvert, the drainage ditches that had not been cleared for years, and the resulting re-routing of runoff to the foundations of the building were the actual cause of the damage. That was on June 19, 2016.

On June 20, 2016, Mr Dellisanti, Mr Ruso, Ms Shelli van Etten (NB board member), Mr Denis Jordan and his deputy (his brother) appeared to do the actual inspection. The same results were determined. Mr Jordan just made excuses and grinned stupidly.

Denis Jordan’s Playpen

A couple of days later, a road crew appeared with excavation equipment and dump trucks filled with stone, and they proceeded to dig up the buried culvert and to replace it with a plastic culvert. When asked why they were replacing a culvert that appeared to be quite OK — it was obviously buried so long that it was actually protected — the answer was that it was found to be damaged. But, countered the resident, you didn’t do any tests or flush it out. How did you know it was damaged? Then the excuses flowed like the Hudson during Spring thaw. But the question wasn’t answered. Tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars squandered because Mr Jordan didn’t ask the Fire Department to flush the culvert. Mr Jordan preferred to squander tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars rather than rent a camera for a couple of hundred dollars to view the inside of the culvert. New Baltimore budgetary and fiscal accountability at work.

WHAT A MESS! Tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars squandered by indifference, negligence, incompetence and ignorance!!!

The resident was observing the screwing around disguised as highway maintenance and became concerned that more damage was being done than problems solved. He then notified the town board and the New Baltimore Highway Department that work should be stopped until a site visit could be made and the plans discussed. Mr Dellisanti, Mr Ruso, Ms van Etten, Mr Jordan all ignored that request and the work continued. WHAT A MESS! Tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars squandered by indifference, negligence, incompetence and ignorance!!!

It appears that Mr Jordan doesn’t have a clue about contracts, handling money, keeping records, or acceptable hiring practices

And the result? The Town of New Baltimore and the Town of New Baltimore Highway Department, and Mr Denis Jordan are being served with a Notice of Claim — You can read or download a redacted copy of the Notice of Claim by clicking here — but in summary, the resident is demanding that the Town of New Baltimore pay compensation for the repair of the building or, if the building cannot be repaired, to foot the bill for demolition and remediation. In addition, the resident is seeking compensation for other expenses such as loss of revenues and loss of use of the property as purchased. What is really important, though, is that the resident is demanding that the New Baltimore Highway Department be investigated, audited and examined for irregularities in recordkeeping, accounting, hiring and retention, and other areas of concern. It appears that Mr Jordan doesn’t have a clue about contracts, handling money, keeping records, or acceptable hiring practices. Like you don’t hire your brother and then make him your deputy highway superintendent. And you don’t hire a husband and wife etc. Recordkeeping is non-existent so there’s not a chance of a snowflake in hell to defend against any claims of indifference or negligence. The resident is also demanding that steps be taken to remove Mr Jordan from office and to hire an interim replacement. The Notice of Claim also demands that those employees found to have been involved in misconduct or negligence or abuse of public office be prosecuted and made to reimburse the people of the Town of New Baltimore for the costs of the lawsuits.

Several Days after Jordan’s Pothole “Repair” on New Street

The bottom line is this: For years residents have known about Denis Jordan’s incompetence. At least three previous New Baltimore Supervisors and town boards have received complaints about how Denis Jordan was abusing his elected office; his corrupt practices are practically common knowledge if not legendary in local circles. Now his wife, Diane Jordan, is right in the Office of the Town of New Baltimore Town Clerk, so he’s got a mole there who can tip him off almost immediately when something turns up that involves him or his irregular operations in the New Baltimore Highway Department.

As for New Baltimore residents and friends of Denis Jordan, you are just as much to blame for the damage Jordan has managed to do in the Town of New Baltimore as anyone. So don’t get all uppity and smug, pointing the finger at anyone! You dumbasses caused this problem by electing your own dumbass to be Highway Superintendent. If his incompetence is costing the town money in defending against residents’ lawsuits and the damage done by an incompetent Highway Supervisor who has no qualifications, doesn’t get continuing education, avoids meetings with other Highway Superintendents, and knows nothing about highway planning, design, engineering, or regulations. Denis Jordan’s main qualifications are that he takes care of his friends and knows how to avoid work.

Take a Little Tour of New Street With Us

Here’s a nice family activity for the weekend. Take a little tour of New Street in the National Historic District of the Town of New Baltimore and learn how not to do highway maintenance.

If you’re a friend of Denis Jordan or the New Baltimore Highway Department club, or just a skeptic, come on down to New Street in the National Historic District in the Hamlet of New Baltimore. See real-life examples of what we’re bitching about.

As you come down Madison Avenue East, approaching the corner of Madison Avenue East and New Street, look to your right and see the botched up storm drain (which was partially buried until it was cleared around June 20, 2016). A couple of feet more and look to your left and examine the culverts. Nice job, right? If you’re driving or on foot, be very careful making the right turn onto New Street, you might end up going over the unmarked, eroding ledge created by the New Baltimore Highway Department about 4 years ago, when they installed the storm drain and the culverts at the corner. They never bothered to mark the drop-off for safety!

Now turn onto New Street and as you go along ask yourself, Why are all the manhole covers covered and sealed with asphalt? How to you open them if necessary? Denis Jordan would tell you with a straight face that that is a common practice, and that the NB Sewer Department wanted that done to keep water out of the sewer lines! We don’t get it! Do you?

Moving along New Street, we’d like you to notice the erosion at the edge of the road and that the road slopes significantly downhill, to the South (New Street runs approximately North-South). Keep your eyes on the erosion at the edge of the street as you walk along New Street.

About halfway down the street, note the entry steps to the house on the river side of the street. What is that high mound of asphalt doing right at the top of the steps? Imaging that in the Winter, covered with snow and ice, and the dangerous situation caused by the New Baltimore Highway Department!

So far you should have been noticing the not only the erosion but also the so-called drainage ditches. They vary significantly in depth, some stretches deeper, others shallower, some level with the road. Hold on! If they’re level with the road, they’re not a drainage ditch! Right? Right. Why are the ditches not running continuously and at a reasonably constant depth? Ask Mr Jordan. We’re certain he’ll have a story for you.

The best is yet to come. While still noting the so-called drainage ditches and the erosion, you’ll come to a garage on your left and you’ll need to stop here. Note the washed down road covering all built up in that garage driveway and in front of the doors. but standing in front of that garage, look down and to your left and you’ll see a deep hole with a grate in it. That’s a storm drain. Imagine your car tire meeting that hole. Or, imagine you’re walking down New Street and you step into that thing! Another dangerous situation created by the New Baltimore Highway Department in June 2016, when they “repaired” the drains. By the way, that’s the end of the “dead-end culvert” discovered by Mr Ruso at the time of the site visit. Look across the street to the “drainage” in front of the green house. Jordan’s crew dug up the end of the driveway and installed an new culvert and the square grate. What’s supposed to go down that grate, anyway? They never opened the ditch or a ditch.

Now, from where you are standing you can see the erosion dirt in front of the garage and you may be able to see the erosion and runoff tracks crossing New Street to Guess where? Right into the foundations of the blue-gray house! But note how Jordan has “fixed” the drainage problem. Note also the resident’s own concrete barriers and sandbags marking the area. But more importantly, look at the damage done to the foundation of the house! All due to Mr Jordan’s negligence and failure to maintain the drainage on New Street as required by the law.

About 50 feet more and you come to the end of New Street, to the corner of New Street and Washington Avenue. Look to your left, on the river side (But be careful not to fall into the ditch on your right. The road is crumbling into the ditch and the ditch is overgrown. You might never be found if you fall in!). Note the “drainage ditch” if you can find it. it’s an embarrassment to any competent highway worker. But note the makeshift wooden wall there. That’s supposed to do What? That house was condemned by the Town of New Baltimore about 5 years ago because it was structurally unsound due to Guess what? Water damage. The owner repaired it. It’s been vacant ever since and the owner can’t sell it. Wonder Why?

So this is where your tour ends. That’s just one street in New Baltimore. Can you imagine what the rest of the town’s like? We hope you get the point.

In summary, you should know that before the “repair” and “maintenance” work was finished, the resident was concerned about what was being done and asked the Town of New Baltimore Board to stop the work until a site meeting could be held. The resident wanted Mr Jordan to explain his plans and design, and why he was doing what he was doing. It didn’t seem right. Something was wrong and needed to be fixed.

Neither Mr Jordan nor the New Baltimore Town Board responded. That’s how the situation got to where it’s at now.

We want to hear from anyone who knows anything about Denis Jordan and his corruption and incompetence. Most importantly, if you have already made a complaint, filed a lawsuit, or if you have served a Notice of Claim on the Town of New Baltimore and are planning a lawsuit, we want to hear from you. You can either leave a comment on this blog or you can contact us at rcs.confidential@gmail.com.

Our Picks for Local Elections on Tuesday, November 3rd

Who can argue the fact that we tell you what you need to know, not what the politicians and crooks want you to know so that they can live large at your expense.

Our readers know very well that we are not beholding to any political party; we hit them all pretty hard when they mess up. They hate us for our honesty and for the truth but Hey! Somebody’s gotta do it! You also know that we look very closely at experience, potential and job performance, not the circus performance we’ve all been seeing performed by the wannabe’s. We’ve already spilled a hell of a lot of ink telling you why some of the candidates are a definite NO! for our town halls and Albany County legislature. That’s why we are letting you know our picks for local government.

Time to boycott the News Herald and the Johnson Newspaper mob! (We found only one short article on Dellisanti and Fullerton in the October 28, 2015, Daily Mail). Talk with your wallet and checkbooks! Stop buying the Ravena News Herald and stop advertising in the rags of the Johnson Newspaper mob!

Persson and Dunn are out of the race as far as we’re concerned. They have nothing to offer New Baltimore (they’re Chris Norris and Lisa Benway in Dunn and Persson suits. Persson is dull-dull-dull and hasn’t got the chance of a snowflake in hell! Dunn is done! Too many character issues and totally caca. The other candidates By the way, Norris and Benway have been conspicuously absent from NB board meetings for quite a while. Is that how the dumbocraps represent the people who vote for them?)
