Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Board of Education Disses 911 Remembrance!!!

All over the United States, in schools, churches, government offices, courtrooms the terror attacks of September 11, 2001, were being remembered by observing a moment of silence.

The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Board of Education Disses 911 Remembrance

It’s all over the place in the RCS school district: The schools of the RCS Central School District refused to remember the victims of the 911 terror attacks with a moment of silence. Even the students are outraged as we receive reports of Facebook posts posted by RCS students and expressing their outrage that there was no moment of silence on Monday, September 11, 2017. We find this disgraceful but are very impressed that kids who weren’t even born yet or were infants at the time of the attacks express such compassion and sensitivity to be outraged by their adult handlers’ lack of compassion and sensitivity to a national tragedy that resulted in multiple wars that are still causing misery and suffering at home and abroad.

What’s next?
Will RCS start flying the Saudi flag?

What’s next parents, residents, taxpayers? Do we start pledging allegiance to the flag of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia? Will we next see the Saudi flag raised at the high school?

Most of us will remember 911 with a certain disbelief even today, years after the attack. We all know that the terrorists who planned and executed the attacks were from Saudi Arabia, a country with a long record of anti-West sentiments and whose human rights crimes are legendary. That’s Osama bin Laden’s home country and his family are affluent citizens of Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia where Sharia or Islamic law requires women to be completely covered and still features public beheadings as their preferred capital punishment.

SABIC’s Flag Flies in Selkirk!

Right in our midst we have SABIC is a global leader in diversified chemicals and whose headquarters are in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Arabian government owns 70 percent of SABIC shares, with the remainder held by private investors in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Cooperation Council countries.Check out their website and tell us it’s not scary! SABIC is located in Selkiirk/Feura Bush and has recently been granted substantial school tax incentives locally. The plot thickens!

According to a 2014 Times Union report by Brian Nearing, “Selkirk plastics plant hit with third environmental fine in three years,” the Saudi company was fined $16,000 for those violations but in 2011 and 2013 paid $241,000.00 in fines for environmental violations. But then that’s mere pocket change to the Saudis. More improtantly, apparently the Saudis are not happy just killing Americans and destroying American property, they aim to destroy American environment, too, starting right in our own backyards. The plot thickens even more!

So why are we so concerned about a Saudi chemicals company in Selkirk who, like so many American companies, is intent on destroying our environment and our health? After all, it’s just a country several thousands of miles away with terrorist ties and human rights violations. Not much unlike so many of America’s “friends”. So what you might be thinking.

So what? Here’s why:

The property owners in the RCS Central School District pay millions in taxes to support the now more than $46 million school budget for the district, while local towns are giving companies like Sabic and Selkirk Cogen tax breaks. The residents of the RCS Central School District vote for the members of the RCS Central School District Board of Education. According to the RCS CD Board of Education website, the board is:

“A local board of education is an agency of New York State that is governed by state law and the regulations of the commissioner of education.”

The BoE website also states the five main responsibilities of the RCS BoE to be:

  • to establish all school district policies;
  • to develop an annual budget for public approval;
  • to approve or disapprove the superintendent’s recommendations regarding personnel matters and the many contracts the district must enter;
  • to review courses of study and textbooks;
  • to act as a two-way communications link between residents and the superintendent

The site also states that: “The decisions of your elected board of education affect your child, your child’s future, your tax rate, and the well-being of your community.

RCS BoE President James Latter is a SABIC Employee; Jason Hyslop, a BoE member is a SABIC Employee!!!

In 2013, we published two articles on this blog with very serious warnings: James Latter: Why He’s A Bad Choice and Latter-Hyslop-Brown: The VERY WRONG Choice! but somehow Latter and Hyslop got elected to the board, and it’s been downhill ever since. You see, both James Latter, RCS BoE president, and Jason Hyslop are employees of SABIC. Where do you think their loyalties lie? In their paychecks or in the interests of the school district?

So now you have two RCS Central School District Board of Education members, its president, James Latter, and a sitting board member, Jason Hyslop, both employees of Saudi-owned SABIC, “establishing school district polices” and to “review courses of study and textbooks“, and keep in mind that, according to the Board’s own statement, “the decisions of your elected board of education affect your child, your child’s future, your tax rate, and the well-being of your community.

So now that we have informed you AGAIN that you have two SABIC lackies on your board of education and you put them there, we hope that at the next meeting you will propose that courses for conversational Arabic be offered the elementary, middle and high school curriculums, because you’re going to need it to pledge allegiance to the Saudi flag. After all, the RCS CD Board of Education does establish all school district policies and their decisions affect your children, your child’s future, and the well-being of your community.

So why do you think there was no moment of silence in RCS schools on September 11, 2017? Do we really have to answer that question?

Here you go, we’ll get you stared. Repeat after Mr Latter:

لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا الله مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ الله
lā ʾilāha ʾillā-llāh, muhammadun rasūlu-llāh
“There is no god but God: Muhammad is the Messenger of God.”

Is Church Playing the New Lowest Common Denominator; Sending Mixed Messages

Is Church Playing the New Lowest Common Denominator; Sending Mixed Messages? Or no real message at all?

Is the Church missing the bus? Sending the wrong messages?

Passing through some of our local communities, I frequently notice churches, that is, the physical building, the places of worship, and what characterizes them. The structure, the upkeep, the appearances, the messages posted outside; these say a lot about the people these brick and mortar structure, symbolic representatives of the beliefs and communities they claim they serve. I often see the trite clichés like “God is home, come on in!” or “Be yourself; everyone else is taken” and similar trite slogans. Apparently the Roman Catholic Churches in this area, Ravena and Coxsackie, NY, have given up on being taken seriously so now these parish leaders, the pastors, have to play cool cutsie, mimicking their Protestant and Reformist cohorts. Such silliness simply degrades the sacred space and makes idiots of those few who still frequent them.

This is particularly the case when a new pastor tries to become too popular too fast for too many of the wrong reasons. He starts to get sloppy in his role as spiritual leader and too cozy with the local in-crowds. A leader doesn’t have to be a friend and he doesn’t have to entertain. He has to lead. So, as I drive through the aging, geriatric, brown collar community of Ravena, New York, the local Roman Catholic Church, St Patrick’s, catches my attention. How?

Well, some time ago I was surprised to see a folding sign board placed in front of St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Ravena, on Main Street. It was last Fall and said something like “Leaves fall but Christ doesn’t”. My first thought was that it was rather silly, rather odd. Something I’d expect from some failing Protestant denomination, or some storefront church whose pastor has no other training than what he received in jail, where he got his certificate in Bible Studies from Dumbass Bible Institute or wherever. I knew the pastor at St Pats was one of the young bloods recently ordained, Scott Vandermeer, in his thirties, a journalism degree, able to move around without a walker, he was somewhat more promising than his predecessors, all aging or decrepit, failing, burnt out or uninterested, all cut from the Hubbard School of Ultraliberal Hacks. Careerists. Our hope never failing and our realism always on the watch, we even wrote to Vandermeer offering him help and support. It soon proved that he was going to be just another narcissist; he never responded to our letter. Here we go again!

Soon the signs started going up and were getting weirder and weirder, perhaps because they were cleverly done so as to appeal to the intellectual depths of darkness of the local community. One that appeared:

The sign above is stupid because St Pats does not have a soup kitchen or a food pantry. So not only is the sign a bit idiotic, to anyone not familiar with the local intelligence level, it’s misleading. [Editor’s note: Vanderveer is “out of the country” at the time of this writing and apparently will not be back for another 2-3 weeks, so we could not reach him for comment.  Nor did we receive a response from his office staff.] That really doesn’t matter because it does get worse. Some local in a feeble attempt to put some meaning in his or her life, and for a minute of local fame, placed the “?” on the sign making it even more ridiculous. No one in the parish, not even the absent pastor, seems to have noticed…or cared.

More recently, that is, several weeks ago we again drove by and saw that the sign had been changed to something quite new:

Is a feeble-minded, scandal-plagued Church is going to make the nation strong again?

This time Mr VanDerveer is apparently making a statement that the Church has something to do with the characteristics of the nation, presumably the nation known as the United States, since we are not aware of any Scriptural or Doctrinal references that would support such a statement. It used to be that strong men made strong nations, then strong families but with the castration of the American male and the virilization of the American female, together with the decline and demise of the American family, it seems that a feeble-minded, scandal-plagued Church is going to make the nation strong again. If this notion was part of the preaching series offered by Vanderveer, we are really sorry we missed his performance. But by any standard, given the Separation Clause and the hesitance of government generally or any of its branches specifically to enter into any discussion of a collaboration between Church and state, this statement seems to indicate that Mr VanDerveer is either ignorant or has a boundaries problem. While the Church and churches, that is, the Roman Catholic and Christian tradition — by division and internecine conflict —  has been losing ground since the 16th century, it would seem that Mr VanDerveer and his keepers would be better advised to concentrate on good preaching and catechesis, fostering interdenominational dialogue and collaboration,  reaching out to local opinion leaders rather than making an untenable and unsubstantiated statement like “A strong church [=] a strong nation.” No matter how you analyze such a statement, logically, theologically, socially, or politically it fails. The Church would be well advised to steer clear of politics — and fallacious logic —; a mere parish priest has no business making such statements and should be reprimanded for having done so. It’s irresponsible, insupportable, fallacious, and is simply not official Church teaching. Politics should be kept out of the pulpit and away from the front of the church — or it should be left to the bishops who are the sole church officials authorized by Rome to make asses of themselves.. Mr VanDerveer should be spending more time preaching that strong family values and morality make for a strong nation; sharing Sunday family dinner together without smartphones might be a start. Getting rid of fidget spinners and Facebook, replacing them with a print book, perhaps St Augustine’s Confessions,  in the schools would be a great move, too.  But the Church has failed in that teaching, too, and in getting that message across to the community.

An half hour for God and 3 hours for the ball game seems like a fair deal for most Catholics.

Instead, the Church and its agents, VanDerveer’s colleagues, superiors, and minions, have prostituted the Church, mistaught and continue to pervert doctrine, dogma, and promote error, and have reduced preaching to a 5 minute commentary so that the so-called “faithful” can get there and out the door with 30-45 minutes at most. After all, a half hour for God and 3 hours for the ball game seems like a fair deal for most Catholics.

Get the ^%$# out of the way! I’ll be late for worship…and the game!

The latest stupidity to be posted in front of St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church apparently has to do with the Biblical myth of Noah and the Deluge found in Genesis, or we may be wrong and VanDerveer’s referring more likely to the bizarre interpretation of the myth provided in the movie, Noah (2014) but here’s the official Biblical version:

“The Lord then said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation. Take with you seven pairs of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and one pair of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate, and also seven pairs of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth. Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made.” (Gen 7:2-4)

Actually, someone should have whacked the one who thought these signs were appropriate! Never mind the mosquitoes. We don’t recall any specific reference to mosquitoes in Genesis (nor in any part of the Bible) nor any cameo appearance of mosquitoes in the film Noah. Perhaps Vanderveer can help us with that one. We do tend to have our facts straight on this blog so we’re reasonably certain that there were no mosquitoes involved. The only other possibility we can think of is that one of Vanderveer’s Scriptural Studies instructors at seminary came upon some previously unknown Biblical text that tells the story of Noah and the mosquitoes. Whatever the story behind it, Vanderveer appears to believe the story. Why else would he publicly post something like that in front of his church? It seems the “unclean animals” were  sent either to Roman Catholic seminary or to Ravena-Coeymans after leaving the Ark. We have no record of where the “two mosquitoes” went after having escaped being swatted.

A Pleasant Anecdote

While I photographing one of the signs, a St Patrick’s parishioner was approaching the church to attend a meeting, and stopped to chat when she observed me taking the photographs. She commented how interesting the signs were and how they got your attention. I responded very bluntly that they were not interesting; they were a disgrace and were demeaning to the sacred place they were disgracing. I did agree that they got your attention but for the wrong reasons. I admitted to her that I was taking the photo not because I found them attractive, funny or pithy but because they got my interest, and that was not good.

The parishioner was very interested in what we had to say and very gracious, too. We discussed a number problems with the Church, the parish, and local politics. All in all, it was a positive exchange that started on a negative footing.

Shows you that there are still some good, sensible people in the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk community; all too few, though.

Contrary to what you have been told or led to believe, dear readers, churches are not where God lives [Thank God!], that is, churches are not God’s personal primary residence, they are sacred spaces where we can find safe, quiet space to reflect, meditate, be still, or engage in a conversation with the Divine, a practice what we call prayer, but have forgotten – or never knew how to do. Nowadays most conversations with God turn out to be like conversations with those twits exercising their thumbs on an electronic device; a meeting where God’s trying to reveal himself to the twit who’s functioning with half a hemisphere, wondering whose reflection it is in the smartphone screen.

Repurposing Our Churches

When I hear of closure of churches, merging of congregations, sale of church property, conversions of churches to art galleries, restaurants, even private residences, I feel a cold shudder. These churches have become like dinosaurs; they were once living, awesome organisms, and they thrived and nurtured similar life but at some time long ago they became sick, languished and died. Now all we have left of them are lumps of rock we gawk at in museums or use as paperweights in our studies. So, too, many of our former sacred spaces are now secular spaces where the inhabiting materialist-consumerists worship their new idols: mega-flat screens, surround sound, a nymph, and a bottle. Happy worshipping!

We’ve replaced God there too with some idol like money, sex, a car, or a pop star

So where has God gone once evicted? God’s where he’s always been: in the dark silent depths of our hearts, unless we’ve replaced God there too with some idol like money, sex, a car, a political figure or a pop star. Yes, Idolaters of Ubiquitous White Noise and Distractions, the Ultimate Truth still lies hidden in that wet, fertile, darkness deep within a human being (No, not a vagina!) but nowadays who among you Vessels of Clay with your stymied white-cane spirituality would dare explore the silence within, when there’s so much to do in the world? Why would anyone want to become acquainted with their true self when they can invent another, more pleasant, acceptable self and one that you can transform it at any time using a convenient app? Who will know? You will. But you don’t care because you’ve been diving down that slippery slope for so long you wouldn’t know your true self if you tripped over it!

In my meanderings I spend time in churches, at meetings and conferences, on Internet forums, at monasteries, interacting with others in a variety of settings. I note the anxiety and the vulnerability that cripples so many people; I note their white-cane spirituality, blindly pursuing some sort of agenda-seeking-to-become-a-religion, a tool for a virtual life; they have no real life. I listen to and become offended by the ignorance and narcissism of those claiming to be called to a vocation, as clergy, as lay religious, as lay ministers in churches, congregations, parishes; I frequently observe the infantile fascination of the unwashed when, in a strange ecstasy of voyeurism, they rub shoulders with monks, priests, nuns, or spiritual leaders, and they grin idiotically as if caught in an act of masturbation. “Hee, hee! Look at me!” Narcissism, too, is a form of idolatry. I have to wonder whether the gawkers or the gawkees actually realize the pitiable dynamic going on. It’s rather like the voyeurism of social media but worse. Worse because the so-called spiritual leaders are actually enjoying the worship, and the egos soar – and the wound deepens and festers, poisoning the entire mystical body.

Starving?
Tail’s great!

And like starving rats will go for anything that smacks of survival…

If churches and faith communities are hemorrhaging members, the religious vocations are dwindling into membership cachexia. And like starving rats will go for anything that smacks of survival. For several decades now, the materialist consumerism and the dumbing down of society has left the message of higher truths and spirituality to languish in the shadow of anti-human propaganda, corporate greed, political narcissism, social confusion, despair and anxiety. Fear of loss is the underlying message everywhere we look. That fear is nourished by the messages we receive of time running out for something, anything, everything; fear the terror threat, fear the coming rain or snow showers, fear the threat represented by the guy next door, fear the North Koreans, fear the Russians, fear the illegals. What we need to fear is the false teaching in the poor preaching, we need to fear the pulpit politics, we need to fear the bigoted perp patrols.

Stuck somewhere in a learning curve…

The only religion that’s growing these days is Islam and our response is to demonize it

We are stuck somewhere in a learning curve. But where? We need to learn to fear our own demise and ignorance thanks to the conflicting and contradicting messages we receive from the media, the poor performance of our education institutions, and the dishonesty and corruption of our political system. Add to that the failure of our Judeo-Christian religious institutions to teach correct doctrine and dogma, and to provide effective preaching in support of implementing doctrine and dogma into our day-to-day lives in furtherance of “happiness” and a “good end.” And it’s no wonder people are despairing and anxious. The only religion that’s growing these days is Islam and our response is to demonize it as a bunch of whacko terrorists. Doesn’t anyone see where this is leading? Why can’t religious institutions join together to combat the capitalist propaganda drowning us in a sea of lies and hate? But then, when I was a kid it was the Roman Catholics and Protestants killing each other. Only the bigotry and creeds have remained the same; only the faces have changed.

Cultural and political institutions our religious and faith institutions are appealing to the lowest common denominator

Failing religious institutions and religious organizations and institutions are desperately prostituting themselves in a vain attempt simply to survive. And like our cultural and political institutions our religious and faith institutions are appealing to the lowest common denominator in the attempt to get what they can and run with it. It’s not working, people, that’s why you see so many storefront and strip mall micro-churches flooding into the vacuum left by mainstream institutions. Problem is this: the storefront and strip mall micros are just as bad as the movie-theatre or stadium megachurches, because they create their own ideologies, agendas, idolatries and there are plenty of sheeple to participate because they don’t know anything better. Thanks Vatican II and interfaith dialogue, ecumenism. Lights, cameras, action! Worship!

I can speak from personal experience, scholarship, and professional activity with various faith traditions and communities, religious organizations and institutions, and educational institutions. As a writer, editor, researcher, and educator I vet my facts.

So where does an institution in decline turn in the desperate attempt to survive a couple of more years? St Patricks is prepping, even in the absence of its pastor for several weeks, for the celebration of the church’s centennial. 100 years is not a very long time in Church terms but it’s a start. The nagging question is how long does it still have before it’s converted into another empty building on Ravena-Coeymans’ growing list of vacancies. [Editor’s note: St Patricks have already sold off a number of real estate parcels, some of which were sold to RCS school board president, James Latter, the same James Latter who works for the Saudi Arabian-owned Sabic corporation, the same corporation who got recommendations for tax breaks from the RCS school district.] Maybe Mr VanDerveer’s off attending job interviews, since the parishioners in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany are usually the last to know when their church is closing.

When you can’t attract young men to the priesthood you have to attract old men to the diaconate

Like the consumer society they operate in, churches like St Patrick’s are compelled to sacrifice quality for quantity. For example, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany reports in a recent issue of Sheaf, the official gazette of St Bernard’s School of Ministry and Theology, the Albany Roman Catholic Diocese reports “200 deacons and growing.” When you can’t attract young men to the priesthood you have to attract old men to the diaconate. Numbers not quality count; that’s why the permanent diaconate was revived by the Roman Catholic Church in the 60s to stem the decline in seminary admissions; in many dioceses the diaconate has become a boy’s club, a church country club, an organization of narcisistic logrollers. “My dad the deacon.” “My son the deacon.” “My wife, Mrs Deacon!”

Deacon Chic Coming Soon to Your Parish!
You have your church band, liturgical dancing, now you can have liturgical strippers!
Don’t miss the Trinitarian Trio of Trollops!

The Episcopal church has been ordaining “women” for decades; many (mostly gender ambiguous specimens) in the RC church are advocating ordaining women deacons and the reasonable expected consequence of this slippery slope is women priests! When does this comedy of errors, this farce stop? [Editor’s note: For those of our readers with limited vocabularies, a “slippery slope” is a comedy of errors is a related series of amusing or farcical events involving a series of awkward missteps or other mistakes.]

Clergy or Special Ed Class or LGBT Rejects?

There is a big problem with erroneous teaching and that leads to gross stupidity and poor public image. Take for instance the Church’s stand on abortion and other issues. The corrupt and long discredited practice of prayer and what the faithful could expect from prayer as espoused by a greedy medieval Church led not only to Martin Luther’s confrontation and the ultimate schism but also to the Counter-Reformation, and later to many, many scandals. They still haven’t learned.

Erroneous teaching and that leads to gross stupidity and poor public image

OK. But can someone tell me how this works? How about you, Father?

Let’s face the facts: The Church may be facing annihilation over the longer term if it doesn’t (1) come up with some sort of recruitment scheme for the long-term future of the priesthood, and (2) come up with some sort of outside “support for its mission,” which translates into people who are able and willing to give in support of the Church in general and of their local faith community before it has to selling off more acreage. The old priests and nuns committed their lives and fortunes to the faith community; they’re gone now and so are their legacies. A liberal, liberation theology (= socialist)  tainted Jesuit pope is not going to solve the problem; in fact, he stands to worsen it. Jesuits don’t have a very good record in Rome; Jesuit popes have an even worse record..

And this is how it’s gonna be!

One of the real problems being faced by the Church and by the faithful is that they are learning impaired. Change is not measured in years in the Church but in centuries. While the men in the Vatican are swilling good wine and dining in gardens al fresco, the American Church is making its own rules. Everyone seems to be caught up in a dead man spiral, stuck somewhere in an ecclesiological learning curve. But no one seems to be certain where they’re stuck.

Still in the learning curve. But where?

So that’s where we stand locally, and regionally. Ravena is just an example, a stereotype, and not the main culprit; Ravena is a symptom, we have to look for the ecclesiological pathology elsewhere. Meanwhile, the stupid signs aren’t helping.

The Church at Work.
Did you find the problem yet?

RCS Communities Mourn a Special Son

On July 20, 2015, suddenly, unexpectedly a special son of the RCS community for more than 75 years was summoned home; a colorful, memorable, well-liked, loved and respected member of the RCS community, Rodney A. Krzykowski, died but he left an American legacy and true meaning for those of us who are still able to know the American pioneer spirit when we see it. Rodney will be truly missed by many of us. He should be missed by all of us.

In fact, you can thank Rodney Krzykowski for this Blog! This very blog owes its existence to Rodney Kryzkowski. Think back to 2012, when the crooks, conspirators and special-interest lackies (James Latter, Howard Engel, Alice Whalen, Joe Tracey, Josephine O’Connor, Matt Miller, the RCS Sports Association, and the nefarious Delucas, Cathy and Dirty-Hands Jerry) were ambushing and backstabbing, and lying their way into controlling the RCS school board and the $42,000,000+ budget. This blog was started to defend Rodney and to expose the crooks and conspirators for what they were. That was three years ago and we’re still going strong, thanks to Rodney and the raw deal the crooks were handing him.

RodneyK_FrameRodney Krzykowski was a man of few words but those words held incredible meaning. He was an honest man, a man who shot from the hip with deadly accuracy, as many of the members of the RCS board of education, like Mr James Latter, Mr Howard “Bray” Engel, Ms Alice Whalen and others too numerous to name, learned very quickly and have the scars to prove it. Rodney was intelligent and did the math before he opened his mouth, unlike the current Latter board, and when he spoke, he made sense; he never learned double-speak.

Rodney embodied a very rare pioneer spirit and didn’t have very much use for government or the crooks government seems to attract and feed. He was brilliant when it came to researching even arcane subjects and doing his homework. Unlike most of our elected officials and public employees, Rodney thrived on intellectual challenges;if it was out there, he’d find it, and when he did Watch out! Town of Coeymans. Most of the local sheeple tended to condemn him on unsubstantiated misinformation spread by the local incest clubs. Surprised? Unlike Rodney, everyone else had something to say about his politics but none of them really knew anything at all about him or his politics. We did, though, and we must admit that he was on to something, not a fanatic or an anarchist, but a true crusader, a man whose principles guided him, and a man who thumbed his nose to ass-kissers and clique-members. When you spoke to Rodney, you had an instinctual perception that the man was special, honest, had a pioneer integrity that is almost extinct these days.

dove with olive branch

Rodney was a mechanical genius. He loved his cars and he loved racing them. Yes, Rodney raced stock and modified his cars himself, frequently creating machinery to get a job done. If something needed customizing he could conjure up an apparatus to do it. Makes you wonder that he never went the patent route with his creations; the man could have been a millionaire.

Yes, he could have been very comfortable but he preferred to remain simple and work for what he had. If you knew Rodney, you would have to agree with us that you would find it very difficult to find anyone who was a harder worker than he. The man never stopped.

Whether with friends — he was always welcome in many local homes — hanging out in local automotive shops, or at the Medway Café, where you could find hm regularly, he was quiet, minded his own business, but was always available if you wanted to chat. In fact, there was no one still living who knew more about local property histories, businesses, families, and government than Rodney Krzykowski. If you needed to know anything about the property that is now the Port of Coeymans or Don Trickie’s escapades, you’d ask Rodney. He could tell you what was there, what’s still there, who put it there and, if it’s not there anymore, where it went.

tail between legs_looking rightRodney was also an avid history buff and could talk your ear off about the Constitution, the developmental history of taxation, property laws, and the list goes on. He scared the living bejeebers out of local officials, lawyers, judges, because they were ignorant of most of what Rodney had spent years researching. Most local officials rely on an ignorant community and they have their way with the poor bastards; Not with Rodney K! He’d send those dirty dogs packing with their cruddy tails between their legs. We need more Rodneys to keep things kosher in town and village halls.

Rodney owned a tavern and most recently RAK Tire Recovery and the former R.K. Winners Circle. He was not only a businessman and entrepreneur but active in community organizations, too. He was a member of the Ravena Grange and the County Grange and was elected to serve on the RCS board of education. He even raced stock cars at Lebanon Valley for many years.

Rodney was a self-made man, a good man, a generous friend. We are deeply saddened by the way his death was hushed by his family, and how his community was deprived of the opportunity to grieve his death, how Rodney’s friends and admirers were deprived of the opportunity to mourn the loss of a friend and model citizen. We were outraged by the pitifully scant obituary that was tucked away, almost invisible, in a Sunday Times Union. Rodney deserved better, much better. In fact, quite a number of Rodney’s friends and acquaintances were shocked and offended that he was disposed of like a box of old newspapers. A number of those friends and acquaintances even offered to chip in a couple of hundred dollars each to cover a proper viewing and funeral but Rodney’s daughters allegedly wanted to make quick work of it all — the Babcock Funeral Home of Ravena (NY) — a real monopoly in the Ravena area, big prices small productions — , known for its sloppy service, probably didn’t do much to help the general situation.

But the well-hidden, cheapo obituary did announce that Rodney’s memorial service was to be held on

Saturday, August 1, 2015
at 11:00 a.m. at the
Trinity United Methodist Church
Coeymans Hollow

We hope that everyone who knew Rodney will be there to show their support for this fine man, and to show that true American pioneer spirit still has a place in our decrepit culture. Let’s see how Trinity United Methodist will manage to appropriately and fittingly celebrate Rodney’s life; are they up to the task? (See Editor’s Note.)

Editor’s Note: The turnout at Trinity United Methodist Church for Rodney’s memorial service was standing room only. Rev. Meager rushed the actual service a bit and the hymns could have been a bit more energetic but overall the event was a fine tribute. The Grange did a beautiful tribute, and the eulogies spoke only well of Rodney and his contributions to the community. It was a proper tribute to a fine man, and we’d like to thank the community for showing up and doing Rodney proud.

Rodney,
You grew in wisdom, age, and grace and learned through suffering.
May the Lord bless and keep you.
May choirs of angels welcome you and lead you into paradise,
May the martyrs come to welcome you
and take you to the holy city,

Ravena: The Scandal Continues

Henry Traver’s $11,000 Pay Raise is Scandalous. Here’s Why:

It’s springtime and you’ll be promenading along the dusty streets of Ravena, chatting to the music of passing heavy trucks,  deeply savoring the stench of diesel fuel, while Carver Laraway is hobnobbing with the New York State governor’s aides, trying to cut deals to repair at taxpayer expense the roads, especially Rt 144, damaged by Carver Companies’ trucks, and while Michael Biscone, Jerry Perrine and Larry Conrad are filling in wetlands with toxic fill and burying natural waterways. (Biscone and Conrad invented the boardgame, “Bury the Creek“.)  Where’s the DEC when Biscone, Perrine and Conrad are doing their mischief? Your elected RCS board of education members are spending your tax dollars hand over fist while putting their own homes up for sale to move out of the area. Yes, all you have to do is ask your RCS board of education president, James Latter, and board member Alice Whalen Why? Why did they run for elected board of education office if they were simply going to jump ship after doing their damage. YES! Ravena-Coeymans, you asked for it and you got it.

More smoke and mirrors regarding the failed Ravena Health and Fitness Center…When will we ever get the truth?

Now, it may be true that you weren’t even asked by the Bruno-Warner-Deluca trio whether you needed or even wanted to spend more than $100,000 a year on a substandard fitness center run by an mutiple-failure, Cathy Deluca. But John Bruno, Nancy Warner and Cathy Deluca made the decision for you and you had to live with it for more than two years. Now mayor William “Mouse” Misuraca and his sockpuppet Bill Bailey are telling us that two individuals want to invest private funds in the dump. Well, if there are that many whackos with too much money that they don’t know what to do with it, we can think of dozens of better investments. Asked by a local resident who the so-called interested parties were, the board couldn’t — or wouldn’t say. Why is that? What’s the big secret? What are you giving away now? Shouldn’t we know the name of the “investors“, the heroes who are going to save your political arses? Who may be going to save Ravena taxpayers from abject bankruptcy? Isn’t it our business who is interested and potentially going to take over a dead business in Ravena, a dead business that is still being financed by public tax dollars? We think so, and we want to know who these so-called investors are. Don’t you, residents, neighbors?

Question: If supporters of the Ravena Health and Fitness Center want to claim that the Fatness Center brings business to Ravena, can they explain Why? during the two years the Fatness Center has been operating, at least 4 businesses have closed their doors in Ravena? This includes Mr Aaron Flach closing his drycleaning operation and terminating the staff of the drycleaning business and the laundromat attendants. If that’s how the Fitness Center is attracting business, we’d better expidite closing Cathy Deluca’s playmen before the few remaining businesses pull up stakes!

When asked by a resident at the April 21, 2014, village board meeting: If the unidentified investors don’t take over the Ravena Health and Fitness Center, what will the village do with the equipment that the village of Ravena purchased from Bob Fisk for $40,000? Ravena village board member William “Bill” Bailey simply replies: “We’ll probably auction it.” And likely get ten cents on the dollar for it! Your tax dollars at work, Ravena!

Ravena village trustee Nancy Warner ousted from key positions…No longer supervising her husband’s court operations,  dirty village judge Harold “Hal” Warner. Too bad, Hal, this must mean you might be the one getting a stiff sentence.

But things are looking up when you consider that Nancy Warner is being sidelined and has been demoted. Good news is that she’s no longer supervising her crooked husband’s village court operations. Dirty-Judge Harold “Hal” Warner, Nancy Warner’s husband, will have to deal with another board member supervising his village kangaroo court operations. We’ll be watching to see if there are any improvements or, as we expect, it will be business as usual.

But let’s turn our attention now to the village of Ravena Department of Public Works, the village department that works very hard to avoid working. We recently reported that the village of Ravena Department of Public Works foreman, Henry Traver, has been awarded a more than $11,000 pay raise; he’s now going to make more than $60, 000 a year plus benes! How does the Ravena village board explain that one? Do you have mayor Mouse Misuraca’s telephone number? Give him a call or give one of those talking heads on the village board a call and ask why in hell are they rewarding a dunce?!?

Ravena board to dump more stone on village streets to be washed away …

Well, we also reported how, last year the village of Ravena Department of Public Works under foreman Henry Traver, dumped tons of stone on local Ravena streets, and we warned that it would be washed away or plowed away by spring. Guess what? Central Avenue in Ravena was one of those streets that they covered with the loose stone. Walk along Central Avenue today and you’ll see how our prediction came true. The stone is gone and you can see the old street surface. Your tax dollars at work. But now they’re planning to do the same thing on about a dozen other streets in Ravena. Why are you still reading this? Call Ravena mayor “Mouse” Misuraca and raise some hell!

Ravena storm drains filled to the grill with debris and dirt!

We’ve already reported on the dire condition of the fire hydrants in Ravena-Coeymans and we’re pleased to see that someone’s built a fire under some butts to get them serviced. That’s the good news. But while you’re taking your daily constitutional on the broken streets of Ravena, amuse yourself by the state of the storm drains. We recently surveyed the storm drains on Main Street and a couple of side streets and found that a number of them were filled with debris and dirt to within inches of the grill (see the picture below) !!!

Ravena Storm Drain Filled to the Top with Debris and Dirt!Henry Traver's Supposed to be Maintaining Them

Ravena Storm Drain Filled to the Top with Debris and Dirt!
Henry Traver’s Supposed to be Maintaining Them

We need to ask Ravena mayor “Mouse” Misuraca and his board of sockpuppets Why? are these storm drains in such a deplorable state? These drains must be maintained to keep water from eroding the streets and flooding our homes!!! So, instead of maintaining the storm drains, Henry Traver rides around in circles in the village vehicles, and the Ravena village board gives him an $11, 000 pay raise. Doesn’t Ravena see anything wrong with this picture?

Ravena-Coeymans isn’t alone when it comes to incompetent management of municipal, village and town infrastructure. New Baltimore is on a par or at least running a close second position in terms of incompetence and waste by the Highway Department under the mismanagement of Mr Denis Jordan, who has screwed up the drainage and streets in the Hamlet of New Baltimore to an embarrassing level. If it were Ravena or Coeymans Hamlet we’d be writing that it was a plot by Michael Biscone and Larry Conrad to get the homes condemned so that they could buy them up for a penny. But New Baltimore isn’t that sophisticated; New Baltimore is just incompetent. So if you were to take two dildos, throw them into a bag and shake them up, do you know what you’d get if you emptied the bag? Yup! Two dildos. That’s what we got in Ravena and New Baltimore wrecking our infrastructure and wasting our tax dollars; and they’re dressed up like Henry Traver and Denis Jordan.

New Baltimore Taxpayers Sucked In Again by Teachers-Union-Owned-and-Operated RCS Board of Education

The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District and its Board of Education manipulated the timing and the vote to again shortchange RCS taxpayers and deprive them of their votes when, on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, they pushed the vote on two proposals totaling and additional $30 million in tax burden on an already faltering tax base. So, Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Social Services Recipients and Friends of New York State United Teachers, the Teachers-Union-Owned-and-Operated Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District approved an additional $30 Million dollars in indirect tax assessment they’re calling “Capital Improvement” for the RCS Schools. Let’s watch and see who gets the contracts for the so-called “capital improvements.”

New Baltimore Taxpayers Sucked In Again

taxation without representation

May be business as usual in Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk but New Baltimore doesn’t have to put up with it! Or do we?

We have just one question: When will the Town of New Baltimore smarten up and leave the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District, a failing group of schools with a corrupt board of education under a corrupt superintendent and move on to join the Greene County success story? When will the Town of New Baltimore town board finally get its act together and take the necessary steps to ensure that New Baltimore taxpayers are not playing the fool for a failing district that knows no bounds when it comes to spending and taxation. The RCS district is losing tax base a mile-a-minute and attracting non-taxpaying population. More properties are either going up for sale, being abandoned, or vacant in the case of commercial properties with more of the tax burden falling on Guess Who?!?!

Ravena has enough money to allow Cathy Deluca’s unlawful and failing Ravena Health and Fitness Center to continue losing taxpayer dollars to the tune of more than $6000 a month, and the town of Coeymans can give half the town away in concessions to carpetbagger business with nothing in return. But can New Baltimore continue to pay for Raven-Coeyman’s debauchery and free-wheeling spending addictions? We say NO!

It only gets worse: 2015 will be more expensive, more dangerous, and more frustrating in Coeymans and New Baltimore.

Unidentifiable Killer Trucks on Rt 144 and 9W. Why aren’t the traffic laws being enforced? Why are we put in harm’s way by our elected officials?

killer truck 1

Killer Trucks On the Loose!!!!
Test: Can you find, read the license plate to save your life?

School buses stopping at ever damned driveway during rush hour traffic!

Utility trucks stopped on the shoulder with no flagmen!

Dump trucks and heavy trucks, oversized loads going at a snail’s pace!

Illegible licence plates and no lights!

Now it seems the drivers of the nuisance heavy trucks are playing life and death games with other road users!

We’ve been hearing the usual mantra of “We need this business because it will create jobs!” And we’ve also witnessed the stupidity and lack of common sense, the lack of vision that is behind these idiotic mantras. Big business will feed any small town idiot official any bullshit it likes to get its way and we’ve seen that with the town of Coeymans and its kissing Carver Laraway’s and TCI‘s butts nontop. Everything from caving to the lies of new jobs and benefits to the community to enacting illegal zoning and local laws. We have it all.

And speaking of jobs, Ravena and Coeymans: Word on the street is that Aaron Flach is planning to close the front office/dry cleaning part of the local laundromat. Seems an employee has complained that it’s too cold and Flach can’t actually fire the employee for claiming that working conditions in Flach’s salt mines is substandard so Flach, instead of investing in heat, decides to close that part of the business. This poses a number of problems: (1) if Flach closes the front office, no one will be there to take care of problems and problems there are in the laundromat when they occur, (2) if Flach closes the front office/dry cleaning area where do residents bring their dry cleaning? Answer: Elsewhere, out of Ravena; after all, Ravena is no place for a business, is it?. And most importantly, (3) Jobs. How many people will be put out of a job in Ravena when Flach makes the move to save money rather than be a decent employer? Yes! There you have the Ravena “have’s”, the in-crowd mentality versus the rest of us. What? You want heat? Flach would rather close the business than spend the money on heat!

And where ya gonna go when you have a problem with Flach’s carwash — which happens more often than not — when there’s no one in the dry cleaning/laundromat office? Ravena-style customer service — a very pleasant “Screw you!”

Carver Companies and the others like it in Coeymans are playing this community for the fools we are if you look at our local elected officials. We’re getting empty promises, environmental pollution never seen before in this area, we’re hemorrhaging tax base and residents, but we’re giving our land, our homes, our heritage away like a bunch of retarded prostitutes. Why? Ask yourselves why? Ask Mr Flach and his Coeymans town board, Why? Ask Mr Misuraca and his village council, Why?

It seems everyone in town and village hall are out to stack the deck in their favor. Take Ravena. A new mayor, Bill Misuraca, moves into the Ravena mayor’s office and does nothing. His highway department (the Ravena Public Works Department) spreads tens of thousands of dollars in loose stone on several major streets only to have it pushed aside by traffic, washed away by rain, and now plowed up by the snow plows. Misuraca’s wisdom: Why put something permanent down if we’re only going to dig it up again when we repair the infrastructure. Meanwhile, Ravena is hemorraging to the tune of $6,000 a month with the Cathy Deluca fitness center, and it’s losing tax base faster than we can write about it. Record numbers of homes for sale in Ravena and Main Street is still the capital of distressed and empty property. A quarter century of financial incompetence and finally, after screwing the bottoms off of most property owners in Ravena, Ravena is forced to keep separate accounts for sewer and water! DUHHHHH!

The situation in the town of New Baltimore isn’t much different. A bunch of dildos in the highway department have no clue how to keep records or how to repair roads or drive snow plows. For example, in the summer they “patch” the potholes so loosely that after 3 or 5 cars and the hole’s back. The surfacing that does survive is torn up by the plows in winter, and then replaced in the summer. That’s called job security, we guess. Earlier this month (December 2014) after the 4 or so inches of snow fell, the New Baltimore Highway Department plows moved through the Hamlet and the National Historic District and tore up big slabs of road surface — Were the plow blades too low or was the surface that shoddy? — We believe both were true. Or they tear up the shoulder so it has to be replaced in Spring or Summer. Job security. But can they install storm drains or gutters properly to avoid damage to private property? Hell NO! Or can they keep records of where the trucks and crews are at any given time? Or what work was done when? Or the cost of a particular job? Hell NO! Yet New Baltimore residents sit on their hands and play nice-nice. Wake the hell up!

Coeymans is no better. Budget shortfalls while everyone like Dirty-hands Jerry” Deluca and his partner Gregory Darlington cash in their severance pays and desert (rumor is they had a choice, leave or get prosecuted). But they leave, the Coeymans board, hypcrites that they are, praise them for their fine service (to themselves), hand them retirement badges and hefty cash-out checks, and we’re stuck with the ghosttown! Nice going, Flach and company. Nice to know you’re on our side!

Same for New Baltimore. Amid promises of reform and renewal, a return to good government, New Baltimore has fallen flat on its face and the newly elected mob’s egos have taken over. The Ravena News Herald reports that one of their biggest accomplishments is an employee handbook that took the 8 months to create — 8 months on taxpayer dollars and time when they could have obtained the same result by simply calling another municipality, getting permission to use theirs, while making a couple of changes here and there. 8 days versus 8 months. Makes sense to us but not to the New Baltimore town board.

The town of New Baltimore can spend 8 months “creating” an employee handbook but can’t provide any records for road maintenance over the past  5-10 years. They have an employee handbook but that’s about the extent of the recordkeeping. Go ahead ask them for something. It’s as bad as Ravena: either they use some stupid excuse why they can’t give it to you or they tell you no records exist, that they’ve been shredded. We think their brains have been shredded.

There’s nothing in New Baltimore so New Baltimore doesn’t have to worry about stuff like Ravena and Coeymans. There are no more kids in New Baltimore. There are no more businesses in New Baltimore. The original families are either moving or dying out. The number of empty properties is unusually high, in fact on New Street more than half the homes are empty, either vacant or up for sale. The indifference of the town of New Baltimore to improvements in the infrastructure is appalling. Local lunatics like Joan Ross (the Cut-and-Paste Queen)  and Bob Ross (the Cryptkeeper a.k.a. Bitter Bob) spread hate and venom wherever they leave their slime tracks, and stand poised to activate what they lovingly call their “Newbaltimorons” should anyone propose community improvements like public water etc. Vicious Joan keeps herself very busy sending toxic e-mails vilifying her neighbors or engaging in misdemeanor harassment (at a deposition Joan Ross had to take the 5th on her attorney’s advice to avoid a possible misdemeanor harassment prosecution when she was confronted with a tape recording of a threatening and obscene voicemail she left on a neighbor’s machine), while old Bitter Bob courts a jail sentence or at least a misdemeanor aggravated harassment charge — as has happened in the past, he was in Catskill court on a charge of aggravated harassment — by using his motor vehicle to harass pedestrians. But that’s what New Baltimore has become, a haven for dried up harridans and crypt-keepers. Incompetence in town departments and mega-egos in town hall. A far cry from the booming progress being made just a couple of miles down the road in Coxsackie.

killer_trucksBut back to our topic on “Killer Trucks,” As many of our local commuters know already, you aren’t likely to be getting anywhere on time these days. And you’re not very likely to be doing your usual 50-55 miles per hour along Rt 144 or 9W either. It used to be you could finagle your schedule around the school buses that stop at every damned driveway along 144 or 9W and if you could manage to avoid those times, you’d be able to make it to where you were going. Now, forget about it! If the school buses don’t getcha, Lafarges or Carver Company’s trucks will.  You just won’t win, people!

Then you have the cable and utility trucks and crews that park in the traffic lane and put up traffic cones but don’t bother with any flagmen. There’s something to the expression, “line of sight” we see in straight lines, not around corners or over crests. But that doesn’t matter. You’re responsible, remember that. So you cross the double line to get around the cones and the trucks while the cable or utility employees are huddled together in bullshit session and you meet head on with one of Lafarge’s or Carver’s trucks. No problem, your accident gets a spot in the Ravena News Herald and in the Times Union obituaries and Babcock  Funeral Home, one of the only businesses left in Ravena only because those who can’t afford to move out stay and die, gets some business. Besides, hiring flagmen creates jobs and jobs cost companies money; bad idea.

We recently received a letter from a local resident who makes our point for us. We initially weren’t going to publish it because it seemed someone was just bitching but then IT HAPPENED TO US! That made all the difference in the world so here’s the letter [in part redacted to make it at least PG material]:

I’ve been reading your blog and thought you might be interested in this.
I was driving on 144 out of Albany to Ravena and by the old Elks lodge ended up behind a large truck, like a tractor trailer but open like a dump truck. The speed limit in the area is 55 mph but the truck was doing like 35-40 — like 35 then 40 then 45 then back to 30 — I usually do about 50 on that stretch and because it was kinda wintery and overcast I was doing about 50 before catching up with the truck. I couldn’t pass right away because it was in a double line strech but at about Mocker Bros. farm I decided to pass. I had my lights on and signaled to pass got about halfway past the truck and he speeds up! So I try to pass him and he’s going even faster. Then I notice another large truck coming (but no headlights on) towards me and I just have enough time to flash my lights and pull over to the left shoulder. The oncoming truck didn’t have any running lights or headlights on and if the cab wasn’t white, I may not have seen it until it was too late. If I did not do that I would not have been able to drop back and avoid a head-on with the other truck. I was fit to be tied; I wanted blood…not mine. So I  was again behind this a…. m— f— [redacted] and was thinking I needed to follow him until he stopped. But then I thought about it and we were already in Coeymans and if I f—ed him up I’d probably be the one arrested and in jail for kicking the s— [redacted] out of the a— [redacted] who thought it was funny trying to get me to be one of your statistics. You would have loved it if I was one of your first fatalities but then I’d be dead. Ha-ha!
Anyway, I thought you would like to know about this. I got a couple of pix of the truck and saw it was Troy Sand and Gravel…can you guess where it turned in Coeymans?
Thanks,
A Survivor
P.s. I couldn’t read the license plate even if I wanted to complain. Isn’t there a law that says the plate has to be readable. These trucks are so dirty you can never read the plates. Well, if I have a dirty plate or a light out the cops would have me in a minute. Must be something going on that these guys don’t get stopped and ticketed like we do.
This all happened on Friday [Editor’s note: That would be December 5, 2014] between 2:45 and 3:15. Maybe that will help.

The writer of the above letter provided the picture of the truck that appears in the title. It’s much bigger than a common dump truck, and you can’t make out the license plate number at all. It’s too filthy. Here’s another picture of the same truck from a different angle, taken by “Survivor”.

cropped truckYup! Not a week after receiving that e-letter we had a similar experience. Not quite as hair-raising as “Survivor’s” but close enough. We’ve come to the conclusion that these Lafarge and Carver truck drivers are recruited from the local looney bin or drunk tank. Wouldn’t you think that “professional” trained truck drivers would have more sense? That they would be trained in road safety and road etiquette? They apparently have the brains of an RCS school bus driver, that is, about the same IQ as a chicken!

With everything else going to hell in a hand basket in Ravena, Coeymans, New Baltimore, and in the bigger picture, do we have to expect that in these communities, thanks to the town of Coeymans board, the village council of Ravena, and the New Baltimore town board sellouts to the Lafarges and Carver Laraways of the world that we in these communities are about to become irrelevant, even extinct? Our town and village officials sell us out at Walmart sale prices, carpetbagger businesses like TCI and Carver Companies come in and take over the town and region, our elected officials have the brains of a decapitated turkey when it comes to managing our affairs, and even parents have betrayed their own children by handing them over to surrogates like the RCS schools and bus drivers, and what do they get delivered to their driveways? Kids that have less character than frozen vegetable medley — quick, easy, tasteless.

dawn-of-the-braindeadAnd so, for example, we find the teenage girl working as a cashier in the Ravena Shop’n Save who had to ask What’s this? when presented with a bunch of beets. She actually didn’t know what beets looked like and had to ask. Here we had a 16 or 17 year old girl, almost an adult, presumably in the middle of high-school and almost out in the real world, who is working in a supermarket but doesn’t know what a bunch of beets is! The product of great parenting, superior schooling, unparalleled experience (just being sarcastic because none of that is even remotely true). But you can bet your life she knows how to get lost in her smartphone on Facebook or some other asocial media! That’s what we have to deal with people! Are you proud of that?

Why is it that Ravena, Coeymans and New Baltimore have the amazing capacity to get saddled with elected officials, whose only talent seems to be their insane egos, their amazing capacity to outdo the incompetence, the ignorance, the stupidity and hypocrisy of their predecessors (for example, in Ravena, Misuraca‘s moving in with the Bruno mob, the sewer and water comedy act, the wholesale migration out of the village, the record number of empty and distressed properties, etc.; in Coeymans the incompetence in managing finances, the Coeymans board’s idolatry and cowing to the false prophets of business and jobs, the creation of environmental hazards and pollution, illegal local legislation, general corruption; New Baltimore with it’s psycho egos, its backward vision, its misplaced priorities, its abysmal record-keeping and cronyism, plus many of the problems of Ravena and Coeymans!)

braindeadThe Christmas season used to be a time of joyful expectation and the hope of a New Year with promise of bounty and plenty. That’s all a thing of the past and we’re all largely to blame. So, during this holiday season, rather than be Pollyanna about the reality that we have to live with each and every day of our lives, we’d rather be prophetic about this whole situation and say that we need to pull our heads out of the sand or out of any other dark holes in which we may have stuck them and realize that…

ASS-PAIN

… we have to look forward to a slower, more expensive, and more dangerous, higher-anxiety 2015 than we could have ever imagined a year ago. Why? Because we have allowed it to happen. We have not held our elected officials accountable and we have allowed them to have their way with us. If your butts hurt really bad, just read the past issues of this blog and then ask yourself why you never woke up and never took control.

All having been said,

News Shorts: Coeymans p.d. Fires Crosier

progress-reportCoeymans Town Board Terminates Coeymans Police Officer Danielle Crosier

We have received a confirmed report that the Coeymans town board has terminated Coeymans police officer Danielle Crosier.

Crosier has been an item of ongoing scandal and controversy since former Coeymans police chief Gregory “Dumplington” Darlington added the blond bimbo to his trophy shelf about two years ago. Her major claim to fame was her notorious bad driving; she was such a bad driver that the RCS high school put her on as a road safety instructor. Go figure.

Crosier was so bad behind the wheel of a motor vehicle that she recently rammed a parked NYS vehicle in the South Pearl Street NYS motor vehicles parking lot while allegedly transporting a minor to Family Services. Yup! And the RCS central school district, your board of education, turned her loose to be a road safety instructor. Say! Anyone know what happened to that investigation?

Crosier was also installed at the RCS high school as RSO (Resource Safety Officer) where she wasted no time harassing the students, doing illegal searches, and doing one of the wrestling coaches too!

We’ve been pressing to get rid of that blond bimbo for some time now; Crosier was a useless piece of baggage.

The Coeymans town board also accepted the resignation of Coeymans police officer Scott Kline.

On the Street: Ravena to Eliminate the Ravena Fire Department. Fact or Fiction?

There’s another breaking story but is still unconfirmed that the village of Ravena is considering eliminating the Ravena Fire Department and entering into an agreement with the town of Coeymans for firefighting services. This would be a very smart move on Ravena’s part and would save Ravena a couple of hundred grand, more if they sell off the existing equipment. Such a move, if done right, would also help the town of Coeymans utilize its resources to capacity, while setting the stage for more advanced training and possibly some more grant money. Let’s see if this one pans out.
