Shame on You! Laraway, Flach, Masti, Dolan, Langdon, Burns!

Yes! Shame on You Coeymans Supervisor Flach, Town Board members Masti, Dolan, Langdon, Burns! You not only sold out the town of Coeymans as a unit of local government you sold out the community and the residents of Ravena-Coeymans to Carver Companies, TCI, and EMR.

Judas Politics in Coeymans

Judas Politics in Coeymans

Coeymans Town Board justified its decision to turn over Riverview Drive and part of Route 144 to Carver Laraway’s greed and megalomania despite local residents’ outcries. Carver Laraway got his way and Coeymans got a permanent dust storm and traffic delays but no jobs.

Several days ago, a local resident told us that the Carver Companies, TCI, and EMR were holding a so-called job fair. We missed it. But when someone slipped a copy of the flyer announcing the so-called job fair under our office door, we understood why we missed it. The so-called job fair was held on a Tuesday morning for only three hours, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Anyone with half a brain can clearly see that this was another smoke and mirrors act on the part of Carver Companies’ PR person. Who in hell could get to a job fair on a Tuesday, let alone during such a brief period.

But the best came when we examined the flyer itself. It is full of propaganda bullshit and lists a number of jobs using their New York State Employment Service job codes. Not only that, the contact for the jobs is an employee of the New York State Department of Labor, a Mr Brian Suedkamp, whose contact details appear in the flyer but no Carver Companies contact. We found that rather odd. Don’t you?

In addition, the seal of the State of New York Department of Labor conspicuously displayed on page 2, making the impression that the whole thing is the State of New York’s effort. And again, no contact information at Carver. Suedkamp’s telephone number is given as (518) 457-1504 and his e-mail is brian.suedkamp@labor.ny.gov  Again, no Carver connection. So what’s this Carver Companies job fair crapola, anyway.

In the meantime, we have contacted the New York State Department of Labor for clarification of its involvement in the so-called “job fair.” We’re also contacting the New York State Attorney General’s office to ask for an inquiry. Let’s see how transparent govrernment really is.

Most of the jobs listed in the flyer are for truck drivers and heavy equipment operators—Carver probably needs them to ensure that the dust clouds stay up there and dust covers everything in sight. That may be to discourage new residents or to force current residents out because of the truck traffic, the dust and the other obstacles. But wait! Isn’t there a shortage of commercial driver license holders (truck drivers) and equipment operators? Carver isn’t creating any new jobs at all!

Have you seen this before?

Have you seen this before?

The other jobs are menial administrative jobs or custodial jobs. Low-paying and just that menial.

We drive through Coeymans Rt 144 about four times a day. For the past several days we’ve noticed a middle-aged man, in his late fifties, standing alone on the Coeymans Creek bridge, just opposite the Riverview Drive truck exit onto the bridge. He’s been standing there for what seems to be the entire day, in the blazing sun, armed with a traffic sign paddle, and protected only with a hard hat and a traffic vest. Sometimes you can see a water bottle. (See photo below.)

Carver's Creating Jobs in Coeymans! And pigs have wings too!

Carver’s Creating Jobs in Coeymans! And pigs have wings too!

Having seen him there so often and concerned that he is there in the blazing sun and in the middle of all that dust, we finally stopped today to ask him what he is doing there. He was very polite but didn’t want to answer many of our questions, saying that I was in danger and should not park at the corner of Rt 144 and Riverview Drive (Danger!?! Isn’t that still residential parking there? But not since Carver Laraway took over Riverview Drive! Now if you park there you’re in danger!)

Question: How can I be in danger if I’m standing on a public sidewalk or parked lawfully in a public parking area? Beats the hell out of me but perhaps our traffic watcher knows more than he’s giving out. Is Carver Companies creating that much of a hazard? And where is the Coeymans police department in all of this? Not one cop in sight. You surprised? We’re not.

The man was very firm but gentle that he could not talk and that he had to do his job: What he did tell us is that he was there to make certain the trucks got out safely. I could see that. He was there to stop traffic and make us wait so the trucks could get out.

This raises several questions for us: Firstly, is this the kind of job Carver Companies, TCI, and EMR are creating for Coeymans? More importantly, is this the way Carver is going to treat his employees? If you put a dog out on that bridge under those conditions you’d be in court for animal cruelty! How can it be done to a human being without consequences?

Question: Why hasn’t Carver Companies looked at the possiblity of installing two of those portable traffic control devices and sparing the poor employee the ordeal of standing in the sun all day long? He’s probably getting minimum wage to $15/hr, no benefits, and is part-time or a temporary employee; that way Carver doesn’t have to pay any benefits. Right? But then, if Carver put in those automatic devices it may make him look more human-friendly but would put that poor bastard out of a job. But Carver Companies could still take care of its own and keep its trucks moving, it could still keep the choking dust in the air, it could still slow traffic literally to a halt, and it could still inconvenience residents!

We agree with the resident, Barbara Heinzen, as reported in the June 5, 2014, News Herald: “The bridge is premature.” And residents’ questions and comments have gone unanswered and unnoticed.

The Temptation on the Creek Flach to Laraway: "Behold Coeymans! This, too, can be yours!"

The Temptation on the Creek
Flach to Laraway: “Behold Coeymans! This, too, can be yours!”

Coeymans has been sold out by a Judas town board whose small-town mentalities have been taken advantage of by slick talking business types. Mr Flach’s remarks like “It will alleviate truck traffic from Riverview Drive…” is obviously not true as we see two months later. Flach’s remark that “[t]he bridge will keep trucks coming from the Port of Coeymans to Riverview Drive off of SR 144” is also grossly inaccurate, if not totally stupid. Fact is, Coeymans town supervisor Mr Stephen Flach and his cuckoo (or cuckold) cronies Peter Masti, Kenneth Burns, George Langdon, and Tom “Dumbo” Dolan did not think this fiasco through, did not do their homework, got dazzled by empty promises, and betrayed the community of Ravena-Coeymans and all of the town of Coeymans.

Was it really worth the 30 pieces of silver, Judas Coeymans Board?

Was it really worth the 30 pieces of silver, Judas Coeymans Board?

While you choke on their dust may they choke on their poor leadership!

Beware of the clowns on your town board!!! The Editor

Coming up in our next issues:

We asked the towns of Coeymans and New Baltimore, and the Village of Ravena to tell us about their accomplishments over the past six months. ZILCH! We’ll take a closer look in an upcoming essay. You’d think the town and village boards would jump at the chance to tell us some of the good things they’ve accomplished. Think again! Or can it be they’ve done nothing?

Mr Peter Masti, sitting Coeymans town board member, likes to write letters to the editor, especially the editor of the Troy Record. Yes, you read that right. What the Nosey Herald doesn’t publish, Masti gets into the Troy Record. Problem is: Masti’s ignorant and insists on publishing that fact! We’ll analyze some of his masterbations…OOPS! We meant, masterpieces in an upcoming essay.

Elections are coming up. We’ll be discussing both Gregory Seeley, Greene County Sheriff, who will be seeking re-election, as well as New Baltimore town clerk candidate, Barbara Finke. Not all as rosy as you might think. Rob Astorino (Now isn’t “Rob” a poor choice of first name for NY governor candidate?) is also running for NY governor, hoping to send the simian Andrew Cuomo into oblivion, the office of the Greene County DA is up for grabs but by another Nobody. But we’ll have something to say about all that, especially local politicos. Not as much accountability or transparency as they promised last November. Surprised?

Stay tuned!

Theft, Malicious Mischief, Damage to Property, Trespassing: And you call yourself a retired Marine?!?!

— We Rarely Publish Letters in their Entirety but this Letter Really Needs to Get Out to Our Readers for Two Reasons:

  1. Someone locally is hiding his/her criminal behaviour behind a mask of pseudo-patriotism and tarnishing an honorable armed force, the United States Marine Corps.

  2. The victims have provided the Coeymans police with enough evidence to choke a horse; let’s see if they can handle an investigation, arrest, prosecution now that they’ve been handed everything but the perpetrator himself!

Done Like a Thief in the Night, not like a Marine

Done Like a Thief in the Night, not like a Marine

Call it a test, call it a challenge. Call it whatever you want but we are calling on the Coeymans police department to investigate, arrest, and on the Coeymans town court to prosecute and sentence the thief, vandal, and trespasser who is maligning the tradition of the United States Marine Corps. Here’s the full text of the letter we’ve been asked to publish:

WHO STOLE THE AMERICAN FLAG?

 Animated_Flag

The majestic 7×14 foot flag on the 40 foot high flag pole when raised was an exciting day for my family and our community. The symbolic American Flag for all to honor as they pass by. Quietly expressive, a daily reminder of our responsibility to protect the constitution, honor those who have served and died for this country, and be thankful that each of us has the opportunity to have opinions and fight for our rights and freedom.

SEVERAL DAYS AGO THIS FLAG WAS STOLEN—THE CABLES HOLDING THE FLAG WERE CUT, ALSO TAKEN, A NOTE WAS LEFT By the Perpetrator, Trespasser, but he/she did not have the decency or guts to sign their name… The note read   “USMC RETIRED” [Editor’s Note: But the moron who left the note left it on a letter from a social services agency with identifying information on the back!]

WHOEVER YOU ARE, DO NOT INSULT THE MARINE CORPS. MY BROTHER WAS A MARINE AND DIED FOR THIS COUNTRY!   Your behavior is not that of a Marine.

A REAL MARINE would have shown respect, honesty integrity.   A REAL MARINE would not trespass, sneak onto someone else’s property when no one was there; purposefully damage property and steal the AMERICAN FLAG which they had no right to take.

A REAL MARINE would have stopped to ask if we knew the bottom of the flag was torn, and if we needed help to take it down considering the high winds and weather.

If YOU had taken the appropriate action – to contact us – You would have been informed that the reason the flag was still up, even though bottom stripe was torn due to high (30+miles an hour) winds, was that it was too dangerous to take it down. But most important, YOU would have been told that we felt it was better to wait until more clement weather so as not to cause additional damage to the flag —it would be impossible to prevent Flag from falling on the ground with high winds; you would have been informed that we already had a replacement flag and as soon as the weather permitted, the flag would be replaced. You would have been THANKED for expressing your concern for the flag we love and respect.

BUT NO! YOU took it upon yourself to TRESPASS, DESTROY PROPERTY, AND STEAL! You, who were so concerned about ONE tear……   god knows how damaged the flag was when you cut the cables allowing the flag to fall 40 feet to the ground/mud with the high winds of this week-end.   Your indignant, iniquitous, self-righteous behavior apparently has overridden your senses on what is truly correct and legal behavior, in regard to OUR GREAT NATIONS FLAG! You’re not a Marine, you’re a common thief, a criminal acting under cover of darkness!

That is why I cannot respect you, an individual who is a sneak and a liar PLEASE DONOT TRY TO JUSTIFY YOUR ABERRANT BEHAVIOR ON YOUR purporting to be a “RETIRED MARINE” . This is an insult to those who exhibit honor, respect for others, tolerance, bravery and integrity, not only in battle, but in their daily actions.

RETURN THE FLAG so it can be properly cared for.   HAVE THE COURAGE TO ADMIT WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!  ACT LIKE A MARINE: HAVE SOME GUTS!

To all who may read this, a reward is being offered for true, reliable information regarding this theft and disrespect towards the AMERICAN FLAG! Contact number 265-0745.

Thank you and GOD BLESS AMERICA!       Joseph Vadney,   Ann Marie Vadney and Family (the location of the flag was 1627 US Rt. 9W Selkirk)

When we read stuff like this and we have to report stuff like the Deluca frauds, the violation of constitutional rights by elected officials and law enforcement officers, people who have taken oaths to defend the Constituion of the United States. When we have to report what’s going on in our village, town and city halls, the scandal, the disgrace, we are truly ashamed of the hypocrisy of those who have the gall, the nerve to call themselves Americans!

Men and women of honor do not break the law in the name of pseudo-patriotism and do not disgrace the men and women of the US Marine Corps by stamping their criminal activity with “Retired Marine.”

The Coeymans police department now has a duty and an obligation to this community to apprehend this criminal and to exhibit him for what he is: a thief, a coward, a despicable fraud and a dishonor to this community!

Thief! You bear the shame of a naked rat!

New Baltimore Witches Coven Night Out…and Waste Town Board Time

They Came Out, Parked Their Brooms, and Spewed Venom
(All Scripted and Neatly Printed Out on Three Pages)

The Ringleaders: Arlene McKeon, Diane Lewis, Marjorie Loux All Demon-crats, All Venomous

The Ringleaders:
Arlene McKeon, Diane Lewis,
Marjorie “Mousey” Loux

All Demon-crats, All Venomous

Demon-crats Come Out In Force (All Three or Four of Them):
Nothing Constructive, Just the Usual Threats, Insults, and Mud-slinging

The New Baltimore contingent of the Sisterhood of the Barren Womb, a local chapter of the New Baltimore Demon-cratic Party, represented by ringleaders Diane Lewis, now of the Coxsackie Regional Chamber of Commerce, failing cha[i]rwoman of the almost defunct New Baltimore Democratic Committee, wife and former “confidential secretary” to former New Baltimore supervisor David Lewis (David Lewis has reinvented himself now as a divorce mediator), Arlene McKeon, one of Lewis’ flying monkeys who pollutes the New Baltimore planning board with beetlejuice and extract of toad, and Marjorie Loux, another toadie of the order of flying monkeys, led the coven of local hex-mongers in a typical venomous, ugly, abusive performance at the March 10 public meeting of the New Baltimore town board.

Itchy, Bitchy and Barren The Sisterhood

Itchy, Bitchy and Barren
The Sisterhood

The coven appeared at the New Baltimore town board meeting to express their outrage and sour grapes about the recent announcement of the resignation of controversial New Baltimore town clerk, Janet Brooks, amid allegations of misuse of public office and her opposition to keeping set hours at the Town Clerk’s office. There wasn’t any mention of the fact that Brooks was collecting a full-time salary as town clerk but felt her time was too valuable to keep full-time hours. In fact, Brooks went on the record to say that if she had to keep regular hours, she wanted more money. Brooks was re-elected to be New Baltimore town clerk in November 2014 and at that time she apparently was enjoying very good health; in March, however, after the shite hit the fan and her antics were published, she all of a sudden developed such health problems that she had to resign her position as town clerk, “because of health issues.”

We reported on Brooks’ misuse of her elected office and other issues on this blog. If you’re interested in reading the stories go to New Baltimore: Just a Hint of Corruption?.

The Demon-crats all made their assault on the town board just after  the suggestion of conflict of interest and questionable campaign contributions was published, exposing former New Baltimore town supervisor Susan K. O’Rorke as having accepted campaign contributions from an insurance company competing for the town’s insurance contracts, and sitting town board members Lisa Benway and Chris Norris’ eager recommendation of that same insurer to be awarded the current insurance contracts for the town. We reported on that one, too, at
New Baltimore: Just a Hint of Corruption?.

How dare these political harlots disrupt the public’s business with their post-menopausal rants!

So here you have former town supervisor David Lewis’ wife, Diane Lewis, who in violation of most accepted ethical and professional codes prohibiting employment of relatives (prohibition of certain degrees of kinship), served both as New Baltimore Democratic Party Committee chairperson while at the same, serving as the “confidential secretary” of the then sitting New Baltimore [Democrat] town supervisor, David Lewis, who was also her husband. Now do we want to talk about corruption and conflict of interest? How about crooked politics?

Demoncrat McKeon Please ignore the stubble.

Demoncrat McKeon
Please ignore the stubble.

We then had to put up with Arlene McKeon’s bitchy concern with who wears hats, jewelry, and fancy clothes to get attention. Well, we studied the town board’s agenda for the March 10 meeting and that wasn’t on the agenda as far as we could see but Hey! McKeon has been known to inhabit the Twilight Zone (which may be why she’s on the New Baltimore Planning Board: she’s turned New Baltimore into a Twilight Zone!).

When we look around the Town of New Baltimore and see what there is here, we have a good idea of what Diane Lewis is doing on the New Baltimore Demon-cratic Committee and in her position on the board of directors of the Coxsackie Regional Chamber of Commerce. By the way, Chris Norris, you know the board member who likes insurance conflict of interest, also sits on the CoC board with Lewis. Now add to that the demoncrat Arlene McKeon who provides her “expertise” on the New Baltimore Planning Board and it’s a miracle we haven’t slipped into a bottomless sinkhole!

We really don’t have much to say about Marjorie Loux, except that mousey Marjorie is or was deputy town clerk under Janet Brooks, and now that Janet Brooks has resigned, Loux is interim town clerk until a new town clerk can be elected in November. Do you have any doubts about where mousy Marjorie’s loyalties lie? (Think “pockets”!)

You’d think that People like the Coven, Who Have So Much Dirty Laundry, Would have the good sense to lie low and shut up! But they’ve never been big on brains, just sneaky.

Leave Your Dirty Laundry Home, Girls We're Not Interested!

Leave Your Dirty Laundry Home, Girls
We’re Not Interested!

But the Coven showed their true allegiances and sour grapes when they had to read a letter from former town supervisor Susan K. O’Rorke, you know the Susan K. O’Rorke who is employed by Wright Risk Management (WRM), the parent company of New York Municipal Insurance Reciprocal (NYMIR), the insurance company “recommended” by board members Lisa Benway and Chris Norris, and the recipient of campaign contributions from those companies and officers of the law firm of Congdon, Flaherty, O’Callahan, Reid, Donlan, Travis & Fishlinger* (William Fishlinger is the founder of WRM!), and who donated part of the contributions to the New Baltimore Democratic Committee (Diane Lewis). Can you imagine Susan O’Rorke after having been booted out of Town Hall and with her shady history of possible conflicts of interest, actually writing a letter to the New Baltimore Town Board defending controversial Town Clerk Janet Brooks after what we have discovered about them both?!? And then having Diane Lewis, Arlene McKeon, and Marjorie Loux (read O’Rorke’s letter at the meeting) disrupting public business to put on their voodoo performance?!? How dare these political harlots disrupt the public’s business with their menopausal rants!

Another toadie, Sharon Bradbury, a neighbor of Brooks and a Coven member, also praised the crook Brooks.

It seems that Jessica Mosier who used to cover the Town of New Baltimore and who has since been removed (Apparently replaced by Jim Planck. It couldn’t have been because of her biased reporting and coziness with the Coven, could it?), reported in the Daily Mail (a rag owned by the same group, the Johnson Newspaper Group who conveniently forgot to publish the résumés of the candidates who ran against the O’Rorke mob but made damned certain to fill half the Ravena News Herald and Greene County News with the O’Rorke mob’s résumés! The O’Rorke mob lost anyway!). Mosier reported in the Daily Mail that Janet Brooks was resigning because of health issues; now Lewis, McKeon, Loux and the Coven are alleging that she resigned because of a “hostile environment.” Well, if going to work to collect a salary and get benefits, and keeping regular office hours is a “hostile environment”, then the majority of honest working folk in this town and everywhere have it all wrong.

The stupidity of the Lewis-McKeon-Loux statements is this: The Daily Mail article of  March 6, 2014, written by Jim Planck (Columbia-Greene Media) quotes Brooks as “citing ‘careful consideration of (her) health issues'”:

Citing “careful consideration of (her) health issues,” Brooks gave notice that the resignation will take effect in two weeks, on Wednesday, March 19, and told Perales that she was “honored and humbled to have served the residents of the town” for all those years.

And again, in the March 13, 2014, issue of the Ravena News Herald, again in an article by Jim Planck (Columbia-Greene Media), Brooks is again quioted by Planck as resigning citing “health issues.” That’s two published reports by the same author in different newspapers saying the same thing: Brooks herself is saying she’s resigning for health issues.  Furthermore, Planck was present at the March 10, 2014, New Baltimore town board meeting when the Lewis-McKeon-Loux were making their unfounded and unfactual remarks about “hostile environment” but he doesn’t mention a thing about it in his most recent article.  Looks to us like Diane Lewis, Arlene McKeon and Mousey Marjorie have been down at Donovan’s Shady Harbor (the Demoncrats watering hole) sucking up the Long Island teas again (You gals have to get a handle on your drinking habits and a muzzle on your snouts!) The fact is that Brooks resigned in disgrace following exposure of her misuse of her public office as New Baltimore town clerk. Any “health issues” excuse is a smoke screen!

Here, Diane, Arlene, Marjorie, Sharon. Try this on, should fit.

Here, Diane, Arlene, Marjorie, Sharon.
Try this on, should fit.

The Glaring Point is that Jane Brooks Resigned in Disgrace and Now the Demon-crats are trying to do Damage Control. Diane Lewis and her New Baltimore Democrat Committee are squirming, the Democrats in New Baltimore are enraged, and flailing about like wounded rats!

The New Baltimore Demoncrats' Only Response It's all they know!

The New Baltimore Demoncrats’ Only Response
It’s all they know!

So what is the real story, then? Did the thought of going to work to get paid and keeping regular office hours adversely affect Janet Brooks’ health? Or was it the fact of working full-time hours to collect a full-time salary and benefits create a “hostile environment”? Is the Johnson Newspaper Group’s reporter Jessica Mosier handing us a bucket of crap or does the New Baltimore contingent of the New Baltimore contingent of the Sisterhood of the Barren Womb,, the Coven of Lewis, McKeon, Loux, know the real story?  We think the New Baltimore community has a right to know the real story, don’t you?

The Coven was also upset about a local resident’s letter to the editor, in which the resident complains of obstruction tactics used by, Guess Who? Lisa Benway and Chris Norris on the New Baltimore Town Board. We’ve already reported on that and you can read our report at A New Baltimore Resident’s Letter to the Editor: Benway, Norris Obstructing the Board?

But that’s their idea of using Town government time and resources wisely. That’s their idea of good citizenship. Defend the crooks and abuse the board and other honest residents. It’s the Demon-crat mantra: “Being unstable and bitchy are all part of our mystique!

It’s truly sad that a handful of sour, dour, dingbats can put such a spin on what is factually criminal. But until the residents of New Baltimore and its neighbors can get a handle on the depraved groups like the New Baltimore contingent of the Sisterhood of the Barren Womb and ones like them, we’re going to be subjected to their lies and abuse, all they know how to do.

It's Truly Sad That We Can't Have Better than Backstabbing in New Baltimore! The Coven Can't Stomach Honesty

Letter to the Editor: Town of Coeymans Should Merge Ravena and Coeymans Hamlet!

On occasion, some readers’ comments are just so good and so on-topic that we think they should be published on their own as free-standing articles. With this in mind, we’ll be publishing what we call “Letters to the Editor,” similar to those you’d read in any of the local rags, but much more informative and honest, of course. It’s so much better to have readers themselves do the writing, since that frees us up to do more research and uncover more facts for you.

This letter-to-the-editor is the second letter of a two-part series that we think you’ll really enjoy, especially in this pre-election run-up period in Ravena. When reading these letters, you may want to ask you why these commonsense actions haven’t been taken already by the residents of Ravena and Coeymans and the town of Coeymans. After all, Ravena and the Hamlet of Coeymans were once one single municipality. They’ve had several decades to make the division work but to date the split of Ravena and the Hamlet of Coeymans has caused only problems and bitterness. Why not go back to the merged community and have some peace and save some money? So here goes!

Letter-to-the-Editor1
Dear Editor, Dear Neighbors:

As we know, some things and some things remain the same. However, at some point, change is necessary, needed and valuable.

With this in mind, I offer the following:

The Hamlet of Coeymans seems to be in a stagnant situation, both  with a population that is not increasing and with a lack of services that its residents should have. The residents pay higher fees for both Village of Ravena drinking water and Sewer District Tax.

In contrast to what is perceived as a modern move to consolidation, I propose that the Hamlet of Coeymans petition the Village of Ravena for Annexation-that is, the residents of the Hamlet actually become ‘residents’ of the Village of Ravena with all the privileges afforded the current residents of the Village.

I offer there must be a number of caveats to this Annexation (and there are more I am sure):

1.  Coeymans Fire Company maintains its current structure and coverage area along with the current taxing authority to maintain its equipment and continue to be able to protect its area in the exemplary manner it always has.

2. The ‘new’ residents continue to have and use the current Post Office, Zip Code and address-much like Colonie and Menands residents do with regard to and with their relationships to Albany. The idea of mail delivery to those who wish to take advantage should also be investigated

By the Annexation, users of the Village of Ravena water supply and the Sewer Customers of the District would all be under the auspices of the Village of Ravena, who would be responsible for the entire systems. Of course this would take additional resources but we can get to that later.  Additionally, all the customers of the Water and Sewer Distrcts would pay the same rates, in contrast to the current system-this means the former Hamlet residents would see a sharp drop in both rates which may equate to the now payable Village of Ravena tax!

The new residents would also be able to take advantage of services formerly available to only the original Village residents, like brush pickup, street cleaning, Holiday Decorations, a second vendor for Cable TV Services, stump removal and the like.

With regard to staffing, workload and duties: I offer that the Current Village Building Department be responsible not only for the expanded Village but also for the rest of the Town of Coeymans and staff from Coeymans be moved to accommodate this. It would make sense too as Coeymans Building Department needs would go down and the Village up. I would think the same issues might be in line for the Clerk Offices, Highway Department and Court Offices too. We may even have a chance for some building/office consolidation and economic savings to boot!

At the same time, the Annexation would allow the Town of Coeymans to explore the possibility of having it’s own municipal water and sewer systems to encourage community growth and maybe enjoy some prosperity because of it. Just imagine municipal water and sewers ‘out back’, on the northern Route9W and northern 144 ends of Town!!

Seeing as the current Route 144  ‘home’ for the Town Highway Employees (the former Coeymans Firehouse) will not be needed any longer, it can go back to taxable property and maybe a Stewart’s or the like will show up!  The former Town occupants will have less to do as the park would be now on Village property, so the remaining employees can either move to the Town Office Building or the Highway Department as their new workstation. [Editor’s Note: Once the Town of Coeymans makes the right choice and eliminates the Coeymans police department, the space in the basement of the Town Hall can accommodate both a Sheriff’s satellite office and the highway department staff! Actually, it might make a great RC Youth and Teen Activities Center!]

I know there is more to this than I have outlined but the idea may just have merit and is worth discussing. Why not talk about it?

Outsider

Now isn’t this what our elected town board and village board should be thinking about and proposing, instead of acting like grinning idiots every time someone wants to create a dump or a transfer station in residents’ back yards? Isn’t this what our elected officials should be envisioning instead of bickering like a coven of old hags and creating discord and anxiety, while resident’s basements are filling with water and sewerage, 100-year-old water mains are failing, village and town are hemorrhaging residents, tax base, and businesses? Come on, people, listen to the Voice of Reason and make some changes!

Get rid of Bruno and his gang-bangers, and kick the Town of Coeymans’ board in the ass and get some action!
