Coeymans Supervisor Flach Defends Laverne Conrad

Think About This

Ravena Mayor John Bruno Decides to Issue Share Certificates to Ravena Residents

Well, actually mayor John Bruno and the Ravena village council have not actually decided to issue share certificates to Ravena residents for their share in the initial investment of more than $40,000 in the mayor’s brain-fart Ravena Fitness Center. But we think that mayor John Bruno and wannabe mayor Nancy Warner, really should seriously consider issuing to each and every Ravena resident a certificate certifying the resident’s share in the investment and entitling that resident to a share in any profits, not that we feel that Bruno’s brain-fart idea will ever survive. Maybe Nancy Warner and Cathy Deluca, and the Ravena village council will underwrite any losses, too.Waddaya think, mayor? Ball’s in your court. You spent the money with the blessing of the village dodos, now make village residents feel good about it. Issue stock shares and guarantee a dividend out of your own pocket. You play pretty free and easy with public money; let’s see some of yours, Mayor Bruno!

The village of Ravena is advertising for a full-time fitness position but WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING TO COME FROM TO GET THINGS ROLLING? WHO IS BANKROLLING MAYOR BRUNO’S FITNESS CENTER? ARE THE TAXPAYERS GOING TO BE SADDLED WITH FINANCING THIS TRAVESTY?

These positions pay from $36,000-$60,000 a year plus benefits [Source: Pay Scale]! Where’s the money going to come from, Mayor Bruno! Cathy Deluca! Nancy “Wannabe Mayor” Warner: Where is the $$$MONEY$$$ coming from? Are you still ravaging the public treasury for your brain-fart idea?

Coeymanazi Bully BoBo-Cops Picking on Local Youth

coeymans squat team

Coeymans PD Squat Team

Piture this: It’s a heated competitive basketball game. And it’s close. Emotions are on the rise. A couple of fans get a bit rowdy. fat copIn rush the BoBo-Cop Squat Team from Coeymans. Yeah, it’s a clown act, but they have police power. And what the hell! The fans like a little blood and guts so they sit there and…watch. After all, it’s someone else’s brats. They must deserve it, right? (You just wait ’til it’s your turn!)

You probably can remember the days when school sports fans let off a little steam, don’t you? It’s part of growing up and testing the ice. So you got a little rowdy. Did they call in the swat teams? I never recalled anything like that. And you never heard of anyone getting felony charges thrown at them.Well, that was another RCS and another Coeymans back then. It was a time when the local constable drove around and knew every kid by name and knew where you lived. It was a time when people stuck together and let kids be kids, they’d be grown ups all too soon. Everyone had to learn and get his or her own knocks in the process.

Things have changed. There’s no more constable, only a Coeymans Police Department that is made up of local thugs and discards from other police departments, or part-timers from other departments here just for the money. And when the kids get a bit rambunctious, they call out the Coeymans Squat Team (the Coeymanazi version of the swat team) to subdue the dastardly criminal teens.

But there seems to be a very ominous tendency in Coeymans these days: A few of our Coeymanazis have been picking on our youth and hitting them with felony charges, dragging them and their parents into family court. We commented on this some time ago in another article on this blog.
Are the Coeymans cops such cowards, bullies that they have to prove their mojo by bullying young people and trailer trash? The real criminals are apparently too tough for them.

maniac-copOr is this a way of creating more sheeple, a behind-the-scenes way to intimidate and to retaliate? Is the plan to get back at mom and dad through the kids. We’ve already reported on similar tactics at the RCS schools where teachers like Matt Miller, also the teachers union rep, allegedly incited students to go after RCS board of education members’ children when the budget deliberations were not going the teachers’ way. We also had Miller allegedly urging students to misbehave on this blog. Then what about the alleged harassment of RCS athletes by certain athletic coaches because the parents were objecting to certain of the coaches’ behavior? There’s a pattern here.

Why would anyone, even a Coeymanazi, want to criminalize kids for a little boisterousness? Felony charges? That’s outrageous! What ever happened to bringing the kids home and putting them at the parents’ mercy? Or even putting the parents on notice: Control your kids or you’re going before the judge.

[Courtesy of Nat’l Goonographic]

Another point I’d like to make is that these two kids, described in the Blotter as “two juvenile males” (did two juvenile males actually require the four law enforcement bobos?), were charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and criminal trespass. What a show that must have been! Can you imagine the anger that the four bobos, Yes! Four BoBo-Cops: Klein, Rinaldi, Thompson, and DoDo Darlington,  incited in the kids and their friends at being bullied and maltreated, publicly humiliated?!? Now that they’re soured and angry with law enforcement, what do you think their attitude will be in future? And if they end up with a conviction record? Well, wouldn’t you be pissed? Now that’s great police work and great community building, guys. Thanks a lot!

I suppose when the Coeymanazis like Klein, Rinaldi, Thompson, and Dardiani have an audience, they want to get their 15 minutes of infamy and show everyone they’re real tough. Bravo for you, BoBos! Now the juveniles have to lose a day from school, the parent or parents must take a day off from work, and all have to travel from Hudson to Albany. Makes a lot of sense. BoBo sense, that is.

Community Roundtable: Interim Superintendant of Schools, Dr Alan R. McCartney Bemoans Poor Attendance

roundtable community discussions matterThe RCS central school district featured a community roundtable on February 12, 2013. Dr McCartney lamented the poor attendance and looked for better response from the community for the upcoming community roundtable. We seriously wonder how the word about these events gets out, or doesn’t. There are plenty of FaceBook gossip mills with the RCS moniker attached to them such as RCS Friends and More, RCS Athletic Association, Save the Arts at RCS, but they all require a computer and some computer savvy to find. And yes, the RCS CSD has a website, but ditto, you need a computer and have to navigate the site (which ain’t easy) to find what you need.Doesn’t the RCS CSD have robocalling ability? Why not use that to get maximum attendance, although only households with children in the RCS schools would receive the call.

round-table-discussion-But Hey! Didn’t we recently post an article about getting the word out on what’s going on in our schools. Sure we did! It was actually targeting Dr McCartney. Our article, The RCS Community Needs to Know…, suggested that Dr McCartney use the local rag, the Ravena News Herald, to publish a weekly report on what’s going on in RCS schools. That never happened. Wonder why?

Supervisor Stephen Flach Comes Out in Defense of Laverne “Larry” Conrad.

A Bit of Overkill, if you don’t mind my saying so…

Coeymans Supervisor Stephen Flach devotes two columns in the February 28, Ravena News Herald, to defense tactics. But Mr Flach doesn’t utter a single word in defense of the Coeymans town boards’ decision to betray the residents of Coeymans and sell them into slavery to MidHudson Cable with that nefarious 15-year exclusive contract. We need to hear from Mr Flach about why that was done and how he expects Coeymans residents and Coeymans business to benefit from that extraordinary gesture of favoritism. Maybe he could appoint councilman Thomas E. “Tom” Dolan to present that justification to town residents. We need to feel good about this, Steve.

So Supervisor Flach doesn’t say a word in defense of the MidHudson Cable  affair. But first of all, Mr Flach comes to the defense of the Flach name, after the article by Bryan Rowzee, quoting Laverne “Larry” Conrad, drew some comments from readers on the News Herald blog that “disturbed” Mr Flach. To be fair, I have a lot of respect for the Flach family. If it weren’t for the Flachs’ ambitions, Ravena-Coeymans would probably have slowly sunk into the polluted Hudson in terms of businesses. Without the Flach family all we’d be left with would be the vultures who would pick the area clean, and the Coeymanazis who would clear the way for them.

Stephen Flach, though in some respects stymied and other respects too gentle, makes a good Christian effort to clear the air, so-to-speak, and Mr Flach defends the Flach empire’s name and its “relationship” with good ol’ Laverne Conrad, Coeymans building inspector. We’d expect that but we also expect more, much more, Mr Flach.

Mr Flach also notes that he appointed Laverne to a position in the sewer department (in addition to Laverne’s position as Coeymans building inspector)  Well, we couldn’t think of a better place to put Larry Conrad, to be very honest, even if it is billing. But Mr Flach could say nothing more true than what he says about Conrad: “Mr Conrad has a vast amount of knowledge in regards to our sewer system.” Yes, Larry Conrad does know a great deal about sewerage, and has been in so much shit in recent years, he’s surely the best choice to monitor Coeymans waste treatment. Congrats, Laverne! You get the Golden Turn award!

This one's for you, Laverne!

This one’s for you, Laverne!

Mr Flach also acknowledges that the village of Ravena and the Hamlet of Coeymans haven’t always gotten along…well, we have to be a little more accurate here. It’s the village and town halls that don’t get along, Mr Flach, not the people. Our recommendation is that the town of Coeymans support any movement that proposes that the village of Ravena be dissolved and made part of the hamlet of Coeymans or put both administrative units under one roof. There’s really no need for two administrations bickering over the same population. It’s stupid and it’s wasteful.

By the way, speaking of stupid and wasteful, where are we on eliminating the Coeymans PD., Mr Flach? Or was that just another nocturnal emission?

Laverne “Larry” Conrad is a good ol’ boy and is a member of the log-rolling team of the Coeymans Good O’ Boys Club, and plays all sides of the fence…did I say fence? Does he have a permit for that fence (Oops! You need a permit for a fence only in the village of Ravena! Sorry.)?

Now Mr Flach, we’d like to hear the defense of the MidHudson deal. Can we hear that one, please?

Albany DA Soares Continues Retaliation, Persecution

Since the Office of the Albany District Attorney is a Regular Reader on this Blog, Mr Soares, We Would Strongly Suggest You Also Check Out the Comments Section, If You Don’t Already!

Since About May 31, 2012, the Albany District Attorney, P.[udenda] David Soares, Has been Persecuting Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Board of Education President John M. Vadney

on the Grounds of a Facially and Factually Fraudulent  Harassment Complaint made by Former School Board Member Josephine (Tracey) O’Connor’s Father, Joseph Tracey

P. [Pudenda] David Soares

P. [Pudenda] David Soares
Albany County District Attorney
Has Plenty of Ethical Problems of His Own

What the Albany Times Union (a.k.a. Albany Times Useless) and the local rags don’t tell you…and the RCnaziS (Coeymanazis) don’t want you to know:

Yes! It’s our hypocritical Albany District Attorney, reliable cog in the wheels of the eternal political corruption of the Albany Democrat machine so deeply imbedded in Albany politics, who is persecuting the RCS board of education president, John M. Vadney, on a cooked-up charge of harassment. On January 8, 2013, our Albany DA P.[udenda] David Soares’ special prosecutor–Yes! You read correctly, a Special Prosecutor, Paul Webb, appeared in Bethlehem court to AGAIN postpone resolution of the trumped up frame-up of the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk school board president, Mr John Vadney. Can you imagine the stupidity of pursuing this fraudulent, politically motivated persecution at taxpayers’ expense!

Who-is-your-JudgeWe’ve seen and read the illiterate so-called Witness Deposition sworn to by Joseph Tracey, under the inept supervision of Coeymans police bobos Thomson and Crosier (see below), and it’s beyond comprehension that any judge with even a half a brain wouldn’t have looked at it and thrown it and Tracey, together with the idiot Coeyman’s cops who took it, Crosier and Thompson out the nearest window! (Yes! that’s Kerry Thompson,  who is married to Coeymans police chief Darlington’s sister, the same corrupt Coeymanazi who refused to take a local businesswoman’s complaint that that same Joseph Tracey harassed her and threatened her family!). The deposition is a mass of confused statements and contradictions. Moreover, it was taken by the Coeymans police the day after Tracey had been arrested by the Bethlehem Police and released. It’s obviously a halfwit’s attempt at getting back at Mr Vadney. Lest we forget, Joe Tracey, Josephine O’Connor’s ‘til then estranged father, who is a very good friend of Gerald “Dirty-Hands Deluca of Coeymans police department and Coeymanazi fame, claims to have been called a “homosexual” (I can hardly believe that that word would be in Joe Tracey’s vocabulary!) and that he was insulted. Poor pussy cat!

fat-cat

Joe Tracey, the Poor Kitten!

Now that’s fact.  Joe Tracey says he asked Mr Vadney to call him about some statement made 10 days earlier to Josephine O’Connor. All of a sudden, 10 days later, Tracey needs to talk to Mr Vadney about something said to Tracey’s adult daughter, married, wannabe teacher, at the time a member of the RCS board of education. We’d like to remind you that Josephine O’Connor’s statement is not supported by any witnesses and, in fact, several people present at the time say the incident never happened. In his deposition, Tracey actually admits in so many words he was not there but he’s got to talk to Mr Vadney about the incident. Well, Tracey does talk; in fact he talks his way to jail on a charge of aggravated harassment, a misdemeanor.

So, Tracey gets out. Mr Vadney gets an order of protection to keep Tracey, who threatened Mr Vadney and his family, away. Next day, the Coeymans police show up at Mr Vadney’s home, cuff him, and cart him down to Coeymans. The charge: You guessed it, aggravated harassment.

But Mr Vadney’s due process rights are violated multiple times. He isn’t read his rights at the time of arrest, he isn’t arraigned after his arrest, in fact he doesn’t even know Why? he’s been arrested!

In fact, the Coeymans police had to make several attempts at writing up the Appearance Ticket issued to Mr Vadney. Get this: The Coeymans police, Thompson and Crosier, had to generate no less than five, FIVE, appearance tickets, each one correcting the one before. Yes, they couldn’t even get the appearance ticket right without having to redo it five, FIVE different times!!!!

Both town of Coeymans judges didn’t want to touch the case and they recused themselves! Local BoBo judges were scared shiteless to touch the case! So Bethlehem town court had to take the case. And that’s where it’s stuck for the past almost 7 months. Does anyone smell the nasty retaliation rat here?

WTF

WTF!!!

FalconeBorsellino

I Have Gotta A Deal You Can’ta Refuse!

Our buck is on the bet that the local Mafiosi and Coeymanazis, all Democrat tools, in RCS are behind the persecution and retaliation to coerce a resignation–they’ve been trying forever to oust the non-teachers from the RCS board of education. You see, once they get enough non-teachers to resign from the board, the teachers clique and the teachers union, Matt Miller and NYSUT, will have free reign on the budget and programs. And you all know damned well where that’s going. This persecution thing has been going on forever: first they tried like hell to get Rodney Krzykowski to leave by calling him a terrorist, a scofflaw, a tax-evader. Of course, none of that was true. Then they went after Jeff Lukens, even allegedly using his son in retaliation, but Lukens stood firm. Then back in May 2012, right after the preliminary results of the 2012-13 school budget vote–those same results are under investigation by the New York State Education Department because of allegations of irregularities and even fraud by the supporters of the more than $42 million school budget supported by the teachers and the teachers union, NYSUT, and a group of Coeymanazi-brainwashed residents–they set the board of education up with a performance by sociopath Josephine (Tracey) O’Connor, who did the “He called me fat” performance at the RCS High School in front of voters. (She’s not exactly “petite,” let’s say.) But numerous voters and officials present and with Mr Vadney claim nothing of the sort happened! Then, Josephine O’Connor’s father, Joseph “Joe” Tracey, a man with a very colorful past involving, let’s just say “self-medication”, appears at a local business owned by a relative of the board president and then creates a threatening scene, intimidating the board president’s sister and threatening the board president’s family.

[Editor’s Note: We are indebted to a reader who points out that we shouldn’t foget that Coeymans police chief Gregory Darlington’s wife is secretary to moron Albany County DA P. David Soares! There is a clear trail leading from the Coeymanazi nest of iniquity to Soares’ office!]

BoBo Cop’s Big Bust

Welcome! JLuck of Chatham, old neighbor lurker!
Instead of lurking, you should leave a comment!
Support your good buddy, Dumbluca!

Coeyman’s Police Department’s Own BoBo Cop, Gerald “Dirty Hands Jerry” Deluca Makes a Major Bust and Ruins a Kid’s Life.

You GO! BoBo!

You GO! BoBo!
(As reported in the
Dec. 17, 2012, Ravena News Herald)

We just had to post this. It’s so typical of the super dodos and bobos in the Coeymans Police Department. Here’s 300 lb BoBo Cop responding to a stupid 13 year old kid playing phone pranks from the RCS Middle School, no less (Earth to teachers, where are you?). So what does BoBo Deluca (a.k.a. in the Coeymans P.D. as “Dumbluca“)? He arrests the kid on criminal charges! Now that’s some real criminal investigation and police work.

BoBo Cop Jerry Deluca LeadsCoeymans Dodos in Arrest of Desperate Criminal.

BoBo Cop Jerry Deluca Leads
Coeymans Dodos in Arrest of Desperate Criminal.
(Your Tax Dollars Working for You!)

So our bloated BoBo crimestopper moves his fat ass to apprehend and charge a jerky-boy (we’re assuming its a male) teenager who gets his rocks off making prank telephone calls from school (Repeat: Earth to teachers: Where are you?). Seriously, who are the adults calling the cops on some teen dorkus? And then to take the kid into custody…wouldn’t that have been enought to scare the shite out of him/her…and have the parents pick the kid up after a good lecture? No. Of course not! Arrest the kid, arraign the kid, and give him a record. Nice going, BoBo. Yeah! We know, “It’s all for the kids!” We’ve heard you oinking that line too many times before!

(By the way, how’s Tom Dolan’s boy doing?
Ever been charged, arrested? Didn’t think so!)

My final question, I guess, would be: If this terrible criminal was perpetrating his horrible acts at the RCS Middle School, where in hell were the teachers and teachers’ aides at the time?  Don’t you parents think that if your minor child is at school that the teachers and teachers’ aids have some accountability and responsibility for misconduct that happens on school property on their watch? Maybe the school principal and the teacher and teachers’ aides who were supposed to be keeping an eye on the kid at the time (just check the time the calls were made and where the kid was supposed to be at the time) should be dragged into court with the parent? Don’t the principal, the teachers, the teachers’ aides, the RCS district have some accountability in this incident? Answer: YES!

That’s just another reason why:

  • We need to start holding teachers accountable for what they don’t do and
  • We need to get rid of the Coeymans P.D. and its BoBos and DoDos.

Mad-Dog Coeymans Cop Ryan Johnson Has Been Spotted Prowling the Streets of Cow-eymans Looking for Fresh Blood, Flesh, YOU!

Rumors were that someone had Jimmy-Hoffa’ed Johnson and he was in a building foundation somewhere, or that the was receiving treatment at some psychiatric facility at an undisclosed location, or that he was in jail, playing bottom to Big Bubba. Actually, none of those rumors were true. But he’s back on the street fresh and ready to continue his routine of harrassment, intimidation, coercion, and retaliation on behalf of his Coeymanazi handlers, BoBo-Cop Dirty-Hands Jerry Deluca, DumboCop Gregory Darlington, Sheister-in-chief Michael T. So gather your children, lock up your daughters, send your sons away, and bury your dead! No one’s safe again, anymore!

Don’t Be Stupid: Eliminate the Coeymans Police Department!

News Flash: We’ve received a report that a male student at the RCS Junior High School attempted suicide today, and tried to hang himself. The information we received is that he was bullied. Another student, the son of the harassed busdriver who was fired in retaliation for filing a complaint against a pervert RCS high-school athletics coach, is now being harassed and bullied at the RCS high-school and the lunch room attendants (they’re paid $25.00 an hour!) are standing by doing nothing! Is there another huge lawsuit in the making? Caught on video: An RCS bus aide caught slapping a physically challenged student! (The bus driver has responsibility for everything but didn’t intervene nor did the driver report the incident as per the law!) The mandatory training required by the anti-bullying Dignity Act has not yet been completed in the RCS schools and Superintendent Elizabeth R. Smith is taking her “vacation” and nowhere around for the start of the school year! She don’t care…she’s a short-timer!

Albany County Sherif Craig Apple estimates that taking over the Coeymans P.D. would save residents about $500,000.

Craig Apple, ACS
Professional Law Enforcement
Community Leader, Family Man
Learn More About Him at Craig

Craig Apple, who grew up in this area and graduated from RCS, assured residents:
“There is no job loss…All you will get is a different color uniform and a different car.”

The New Look for Coeymans
NICE!

Coeymans Population according to the 2010 census was 7418 down from 8151 in 2000. The Average number of household members was 2.85. But the Coeymans Police Department has bloated out of proportion to the shrinking community.

Turn it Over and Save!

We were suspicious of Dirty Hands Deluca’s math so we did our own calculations of the savings to Coeymans residents if the Coeymans P.D. were eliminated. So, if a total of about $500,000 is saved by turning the Coeymans P.D. over to the Albany County Sheriff’s Department, the savings per resident in the would amount to $0.674 cents per person or $1.92 per day per person ($500,000 / 7418 residents x 2.85 persons per household = $1.92). This represents a savings per average household of about $700.00 per year ($1.92 x 365) per household! (Note that Dirty-Hands Jerry Deluca, speaking on behalf of the Police Benevolent Association based his low figure on persons with a $200,000 house! But what else would you expect from Dirty-Hands Jerry. An honest figure, maybe? No way, José!).

A savings of about $700 a year per household! Imagine that! Now why didn’t Dirty-Hands Jerry mention that?

So the president of the Coeymans Police Benevolent Association couldn’t even be bothered to address the Coeymans town board meeting and so Dirty-Hands Jerry Deluca a member of the Coeymanazi HQ, a.k.a. the Coeymans Police Department,  presented the misinformation and the screwed up math for him. Why would the PBA even bother? There’s nothing in it for them.

So, here are the FACTS
(the TRUE facts, not the “Deluca factoids”):

If a highly trained, accountable, and professional law enforcement organization like the Albany County Sheriff’s Department were to take over the Coeymans Police Department, what do you think would happen to Dirty-Hands Jerry Deluca? Well, here’s what would happen:

As most of the Town of Coeymans knows,Coeymans police chief  Dimwit Darlington’s predecessor had the good sense to have gotten rid of Dirty-Hands Jerry Deluca but Dimmy Darlington hired most of pervs back who were dumped by the previous professional police chief. That’s what Coeymans has to work with today, the Perv Patrol.

First of all, if Gerald Dirty-Hands Jerry Deluca were kept on in any form, he’d be supervised by no-nonsense supervisors and be held accountable to well-established policies and procedures. That would probably kill him outright.

Secondly, Dirty-Hands Jerry Deluca would be supervised and would not have the influence he now has as far as influencing the police work in the Coeymans P.D. or continuing the coercion and retaliation that goes on there.

But the reality is this: He’d probably be out of a job on day one of the takeover because he’s useless and has no training. The highly-trained, professional, and respectable Albany County Sheriff’s Department wouldn’t give Dirty-Hands Jerry Deluca a job passing out Easter eggs in the men’s room. (He just might get a job as Big Bubba’s bitch in the county jail, though, where he belongs!) So Dirty-Hands Jerry is probably scared shiteless even thinking that the ACSD would take over the Coeymanazi H.Q.! He’d be out of a job for sure.

I’ll be waiting for you, Jerry!
Big Bubba, P.O. Box Albany County Jail

Gregory “Dimwit” Darlington is an even worse widget. Darlington has such a high opinion of himself and such a low opinion of the town of Coeymans that pays his exhorbitant salary  that he’s quoted in the Times Useless as having said:

“Without us, I feel this town will collapse.”

Is that so? The Town of Coeymans would simply collapse without Dimwit Darlington to hold it up? Seriously, is that what all those supporters think, too? That’s a very serious statement Dimmy Darlington is making, especially considering that it took him at least three tries to pass the police chief examination! Now, where do you think Dimmy Darlington would end up once the ACSD took over the Coeymanazi H.Q. You guessed it, he’d take Dirty-Hands Deluca’s job handing out Easter eggs in the men’s room (Dirty-Hands Jerry would be kept busy by Big Bubba.)

Gregory “Dimmy” Darlington
Gets a New Uniform
(And a Job he’s Qualified For)

Do you even have to wonder why the Coeymans town supervisor Stephen Flach and the Albany County Sheriff didn’t consult with Dimmy Darlington before moving on the plan to eliminate the Coeymans P.D.? Here’s why: He’s useless. It’s the biggest slap in the face when even your town supervisor doesn’t have enough respect for you to ask you about your own department. Same applies for the Sheriff. And what about the rest of the Coeymans town board, didn’t the latest loser in town, Tom Dolan, the so-called town board liaison officer to the Coeymans P.D. even share the news with Dimmy Darlington? Now there’s a real friend for ya, Dimmy! Tom “No-Fracking-Loser” Dolan left you high and dry, too.

So, Coeymans residents, what are you losing if a professional police force takes over the local police department? You lose at most  two Dimmies. And in addition to an accountable, well-trained, professional police force, each household stands to save about $700 a year!

And Coeymans town residents can certainly find a use for another $500,000 a year, I’m sure. Like rehabing Main Street, maybe, and attracting some business? Or perhaps updating the sewer system to keep the feces off the lawn furniture? Or helping out with the RCS Community Library?

Mr Flach has a great idea and he should be supported. The Coeymans Police Department must go and the professionals at the ACSD are ready to provide professional law enforcement with practically no change except it will be for a half-million less than what you’re now paying. Don’t be misled by the self-interests of the Dimmies and the misinformation of the PBA, or the lies that Dirty-Hands Jerry feeds you so that he can stay head honcho of the Coeymanazi H.Q. and you have to live with business as usual!

One Step Forward, Two Steps Backward: Kerry Thompson gets $30+/hour!

Warning: If you are a student or a minor, please leave this blog NOW!

Complaints, Lawsuits, Fear of the Coeymanazi Coeymans Police Department…Overspending, Wild Spending Habits, A Major Chunk of the Town Budget–Now the Coeymans Police Department “Promotes” Albany CountySheriff’s Department Employee and Part-Time Coeymans Cop Kerry Thompson to Lieutenant and the Coeymans Town Board Approves Thompson’s Hourly Rate at More Than $30/Hour!

Grab the Money and Run!
More Spending for Less Service

According to our recent poll 64% of persons responded would like to see the Coeymans police department eliminated; 59% of persons responding said they would support a referendum to eliminate the Coeymans police department. 46% said that they were concerned by the coziness between the Albany County and the Coeymans police department. 38% of responders reported that their rights were violated by either the Coeymans police department or a Coeymans police officer, and were unsatisfied with the reponse of the Coeymans police department.

These are pretty damning figures from a fairly well-educated, intelligent group of people who read this blog, and take the time to participate in our polls. Such a large percentage wo want to see the Coeymans police department eliminated and who would support a referendum to eliminate it is a good reason to continue reviewing the department and whether it is justified. A very concerning rate of persons responding to the poll report that they feel their rights were violated by the Coeymans police department or by a Coeymans police officer.

So, this raises a very appropriate question after the July 23, 2012, Coeymans town board meeting at which Flach, Dolan, Boehme, and Masti unanimously approved Albany County Sheriff department employee and part-time Coeymans police officer Kerry Thompson to be a less-than-full-time lieutenant in the Coeymans police department at an hourly rate of more than $30.00/hour! More than $30.00 an hour for what the Coeymans town board described as largely “administrative.”

Is this town absolutely nutz?

Has the town board completely lost it’s mind or are they 100% owned by the Coeymanazis, Dolan, and Albany County! Are you, dear readers, citizens, and residents going to believe that Gregory Darlington, with his more than $91,000 annual salary and the some 18 other full- and part-time employees, including one Coeymans police officer, Contento (“contento” is Italian for “happy”, “pleased with yourself” Wouldn’t you be?), who pulled more than $84,000 in salary in 2011, are so overworked that they need to put a lieutenant on the staff (he’s already there but they’re pulling a fast one to “promote” him) for more than $30/hour. How many Coeymans residents are making that kind of money on one or two jobs?

And an administrative position, to add salt to our wounds?!?! What kind of favor, reward is this, now? A very special Thank You! to Kerr Thompson for his fine service to this community as a part-timer? Or is it because he’s married to chief Gregory Darlingtons’s sister? Did you miss that little tidbit when we published it some time ago?

When is this insane spending and rewarding, this favoritism at taxpayer expense going to finally stop???

This is an absolute disgrace considering the general attitude of the community regarding the Coeymans police, their antics, and their spending habits! And Cathy Deluca, wife of Coeymans police department employee, Gerald “Dirty Hands Jerry” Deluca is sending residents out collecting empty cans and bottles to send school children on field trips because, ‘There’s no money in the school budget for that.”  Does anyone smell something funny going on around here?

Go on! Give them some more!
And Keep Collecting Those Bottles…It’s for the kids!

Was the recent award of more than $18,000 from Albany County DA David Soares a prelude to this ridiculous action taken by the Coeymans town board? Are any of you aware that Thompson works full-time for the Albany County Sheriff’s Department; How does he expect to do two jobs at the same time?  (This multiple job syndrome appears to be a unique situation in the RCS community: Matt Miller had three jobs at the same time: teacher, teachers union president/union rep, and energy manager, until his little criminal career was ended by the RCS board of education. Look at Dirty-Hands Jerry Deluca’s multiple jobs! Deluca claims to have at least 5 jobs, and still manages to collect a salary from the Coeymans police department as a police investigator with no qualifications! And now we have Kerry Thompson who is going to come on to do “administrative work” (Wait a minute! Isn’t that Darlington’s job? He’s getting $91,000 to do it!) and Coeymans is going to be paying him $30/hour (between $30-45,000 a year, part-time! That’s more than most RCS residents take home, my friends!)) This town is apparently  rolling is spare change and nobody knows it! Keep collecting those bottles and cans!

We can see Thomas E. Dolan screwing the community like that–he’s in it with Darlington and his gang of Coeymanazis— but it’s beyond us that Peter Masti went along with the gift-giving frenzy, even that Stephen Flach went along with it. Scandalous! Disgraceful!

Our Advice: The Coeymans Police Department Needs a State Audit VERY VERY Badly!

The Comptroller or the NYS Office of the Attorney General Needs to Take a Good Long Look at the Town of Coeymans Finances and especially the Financial (Mis)Management and Accounting Abuses/Practices of the Coeymans Police Department, Including its Staffing Practices!

Will someone please WAKE UP!!! That’s YOUR $$$ They’re Burning!!!

It’s Time to Hit the Button!

Eliminating the Coeymans Police Department

Warning:If you are a student or a minor, please leave this blog NOW!

A Reader Contributes A Well-Founded Proposal For
Eliminating  the Money-Pit Coeymans Police Department
to Save the Residents of the Town of Coeymans
At Least $2 Million A Year

Your Tax Dollars & the Coeymans Police Department
There’s a Better Way!

The Author Advocates that the $2 Million Dollars Saved Could be Used to Develop Small Businesses, Parks and Recreation, and Historical Sites in the Area to Attract Residents, Businesses and Tourism. Not a Shabby Plan At All.

A Contribution by Laszlo Polyak, Ravena, New York

The blogger recently put out a poll about the Coeymans Police Department and asked whether you are for or against the dissolution of the police department based on the various complaints of police brutality, ineptness, unprofessionalism, lack of training, and violation of civil rights and abuse of citizens and residents.  And the blogger now sarcastically refers to them as the Coeymanazis, and giving some individuals personnel nicknames such as “Dirty Hands.”

I grew up in a township with county police only; no village or town police, only county and state police. Perhaps that is why 2 million people moved out of NY. A lot of southern states provide services such as fire, police, paramedics on a county level so people see the benefits and they feel the benefits in their wallets. How? You ask–they pay less taxes!

I find it personally very difficult to write about this, since I have family and friends who carry badges and who range from small town police officers to federal investigators.  For example, I have a cousin who is now retired from the PDNY and also from the FDNY.  Yes, one person, two hats, so there are people out there who experience an event like 9/11 with a whole different meaning, and we can’t fathom what they are thinking when they have lost hundreds of comrades and friends. It’s a different level of experiencing the world, yet they manage to act responsibly and compassionately, respectfully.

But back to the nitty-gritty: I want to take a down-to-earth non-personal dollar-and-cents approach to the idea of dissolving the Coeymans police department.  In the past Mayor John Bruno perhaps said it best when he questioned: “What do I see for my tax dollars?”  And then, a few years later, the village of Ravena dissolved their police department.  Now as a community we financially have to look at what we’re getting for our tax dollars, and ask that and similar questions.  Do we really see our state tax dollars at work when we have an elite force like the New York State Police using their sophisticated and advanced training doing nothing other than handing out  thruway traffic violations?  Do we see our county tax dollars at work via the Albany County Sheriff department, or even through the County District Attorney’s office? You’re probably thinking to yourself, “NO!” But you’re paying for all of it…at least 4 times for the same services. Smart, eh? Why don’t you do that for a quart of milk, a shirt, a car? Because it’s stupid!

In extremely hard financial times where people are losing their homes to back taxes or simply because they don’t have a job or have one that pays crappola! Imagine losing your home for a few hundred dollars and then our taxes going up and up and up. This might be a good time to ask that burning question: “Did you see all the For Sale signs go up  after the shool budget vote?”  Do we want to keep or disolve our Coeymans Police Department based on financial cost versus the benefits versus the same services by the New York State Police or the Albany County Sheriff’s department, who would provide the same services but from local satellite offices (just like the New York State Police and the Greene County Sheriff has done in neighboring New Baltimore).

For more than 20 years I have looked at the annual budget of the town of coeymans. And I have seen the spending go up and up.  Some frustrating by unfunded mandates.  So let me break down what I estimate the entire cost of running the police department is today.  Out of a reported $5 million town budget, approximately $750,000 for police salaries alone. (Compare that with more than $41 million for the RCS central school district budget! The school budget is more than 8 times that of the entire Town of Coeymans!) At the time of this writing, I am still waiting for the Town of Coeymans to respond to a F.O.I.L. (Freedom of Information Law) request for the W-2s of Coeymans Police department personnel.  I was told it would take another two weeks.  So I can only guestimate at the dispatch salaries which could be as much as $450,000 including secretarial salaries, etc. [Editor’s Note: According to SeeThrough NY, the 19 employees at the Coeymans Police Department total a crushing $650,000 in salaries) Then you have the cost of the vehicles, the cost of maintaining the vehicles that run 24/7 (tires, tune ups, oil change, etc.), not to mention the gas and the mileage covering the township in the rural and farm areas.  Then there is the maintenance for radio equipment, ongoing training, retirement fund, health benefits, and routine court and law suits.  That adds up to $2.2 to $2.4 million dollars.  I stand corrected by a $100,000 or so since I am still waiting for actual receipts.  The point is this: About half of the town budget, at least, is going to support the Coeymans Police Department. Are we that crime-ridden, are we that much of a gang of hoodlums that we need to spend that much on law enforcement? Can we afford to maintain a police department for a mere 8,000 people?  Perhaps we should look into turning over the operations to the Albany County Sheriff’s Department or the New York State Police or both and invite them to use our present law enforcement installations and offices.

And that’s what the Blogger is asking in the police poll, that’s the poll question: Would you support a referendum to eliminate the Coeymans Police Department? Would you support the ballot to turn over law enforcement to the professionals of the Albany County Sheriff’s Department and the New York State Police? Do you want to disolve it and turn it over or not??? For me I have a handful of honest issues.

Always Professional & Constantly Training

One of the top of my list is that we train officers and then they go off to other police departments/agencies; Coeymans is simply not a major career goal. If the officer is good and has a future, after he or she gets some experience, they go elsewhere.  And we are constantly doing the training.  And this is where minor to major civil rights violations have occurred; because the Coeymans Police are either rejects from other departments or are in their training training phase, we are sued for their lack of training.  And police training is continuous. I has to be! This situation not only expensive, it’s frustrating because we can’t retain the good, civic-minded, competent, intelligent police officers.   And now the facts indicate that that even our elected officials have neglected the requirement for a policy and procedures on who reports to whom, and how citizens’ complaints, yours and mine, are handled.  The patrol man answers to the sargeant, who answers to the police chief, the chief answers to the elected officials in this case the Town Supervisor and the town board. But according to information received from the Town of Coeymans, no one seems to know anything concrete about who reports to whom and what the chain-of-command might be. The result: chaos! And lawsuits! And civil rights violations! And miscarriages of justice! You name it Coeymans has it!

Another issue is that we have reports that the Coeymans Police Department selectively takes complaints, that is, police department employees tend to decide whether or not you’re going to get law enforcement services when you ask for them.  And that to me is totally unprofessional and biased–it’s also unlawful. If this happens to you then you must request assistance from the New York State Police or the Albany County Sheriff’s Office (although one Sheriff’s department employee who is also a part-time Coeymans Police Officer–and married to chief Darlington’s sister, recently refused to take a harassment complaint from a local woman). And then, please file a complaint with the FBI!

If somebody came by and asked me to sign a petition to dissolve the Coeymans Police Department, I sadly admit, there would be no compelling reason not to sign it, and I would sign it.  I would rather deal with the New York State Police or the Albany County Sheriff’s Department.  It would be unlikely that we would experience the personal bias or “get even” mentality based on gossip that 90% of the time results in retaliation, intimidation, and coercion by the local police.

Let’s Talk
Dollars & Cents

But more realistically to me I would be opting for a more efficient and productive use of my county and state tax dollars and looking at a potential savings of at least $2 million of our town tax dollars that could be better spent promoting small businesses, to development of our beautiful parks and our waterfront, to restoration of some of the beautiful historical sites in our midst. The $2 million dollars saved could be used to nurture pride in our town, and when you’re proud of your town, you’ll have a measurable increase in your own self-esteem, self-respect, and love for your neighbor. So when you look at it in dollars and cents, it makes sense very good sense to dissolve the Coeymans Police Department.  Not because one guy has “Dirty Hands,” or another guy harasses little old ladies, or because we personally have experienced civil rights violations or even profiling of one sort or another, or even if the Smalbany Blogger rightly or wrongly calls the Coeymans Police the Coeymansnazis. We also have to take a good hard look at the abuses and violations, real ones and potential ones, that come with the confusion and indifference we see in the Coeymans administration and the Coeymans Police Department. One example it the rubber-stamp approval of the Coeymans Police Department’s request for an increase in petty cash from $300 to $1000! There’s no way that $1000 can be considered “petty cash,” at least not according to all the accounting books I’ve read!

But, seriously, I think we should all provide our input on the poll because I’m curious about what the results of the poll would be, aren’t you?

These unfunded mandates are going to continue to go up and up and I doubt very much gasoline prices are going to go down.  So as a community we have to discuss this and if we do dissolve our inefficient, expensive Coeymans Police Department, then we must also make efforts to assist those persons who are left jobless with job placement elsewhere, perhaps somewhere in the community where they can really earn their keep. But to continue running the Coeymans Police Department we have to find justification in funding it, too.

We’re all in this mess together, so you have to really give some thought to “What’s your solution to a growing finaical burden?”

LASZLO POLYAK

Editor’s Epilog

Thank you, Mr Polyak, for a well-reasoned and well-written commentary on the present state of affairs of law enforcement in the Town of Coeymans. Your presentation is motivating and stimulates thought about the status quo and ignorance of the facts. Continuing the present situation is  like the reasoning of stopping your watch to save time, or complaining about fuel oil consumption and your fuel bill while still using the 75-year old converted coal boiler and not biting the bullet to install a fuel-efficient heating system. We’re all guilty at one time or another! But we need to make some  sensible decisions real soon or at least discuss alternatives in a constructive and sensible manner. Mr Polyak has provided us with a good start.
