Jim Youmans Needs to Apologize or Resign: Bully, Coward, and Abuser of Women

Bullies are Cowards: What more can we say about Jim Youmans?

crandall-head

Disgraced Judge Crandall Coeymans Town Supervisor

jim-youmans

Bully Youmans Town Councilman

Actually, quite a bit. But what we have to say about Jim Youmans probably reflects just as poorly on the voters in the Town of Coeymans. Why? Because you rid yourselves of Youmans several years ago but put the failed former supervisor back on the Coeymans Town Board. How’s that for stupidity?  What’s even worse is that along with Youmans, you put a disgraced village justice, who was disciplined by the State Commission on Judicial Conduct and was banned for life from running for any judgeship again, but you took that disgraced politician and made him Coeymans Town Supervisor. Yeah! Phil Crandall! (Click here to read a recent article on the Crandallites and Youmans.)

And now we’re in a presidential election year and we’re faced with two lunatics who want to be POTUS (President of the United States).

As one local resident, Laszlo Polyak, puts it:
Both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are pilots.
Hillary is piloting the Titanic and Trump is piloting the Hindeburg.
Our choice in November is:
Do we want to sink and drown or do we want to crash and burn?
Those are our choices?

hindenburgtitanic
It seems that the saying is true that local politics forewarns national politics. Why? Because we have two presidential candidates: neither of them is presidential: one is reputed to be a liar and the other a brute. Now compare that to Coeymans and we have a liar, Phil Crandall, and a brute, Jim Youmans. Unfortunately, Crandall and Youmans are both on the Coeymans town board and the damage they can do is further compounded by the fact that they have Coeymans’ own version of a dotty Bernie Sanders in the person of Dithering Tom Dolan. Our concern here, though, is the bully coward Jim Youmans, a disgrace to the Town of Coeymans.

Youmans is a used car salesman — Really!!! — and if that doesn’t scare the living bejezuz out of you, his reputation should. It seems Youmans hasn’t learned a thing since he was tossed out of the Coeymans town supervisor’s office in 2012. Back then he was known to bully fellow board members and he was especially brutal to female employees. In fact, when he was elected to the town board in 2014, one of the female town employees broke out in tears in anticipation of what the future held for them in Town Hall. Now is that right? Is that what Coeymans is all about? If it is you certainly have something to be ashamed of…starting with Jim Youmans.

Coeymans should be kissing any business owner’s ass just for being in Coeymans!!!

All history? Not at all. Just as a leopard can’t change his spots, Youmans can’t change his character; he’s still a bully and a coward. Here’s a recent incident we’ve received a report on:

This should have been Jim Youmans political career!

This should have been Jim Youmans political career!

A local business woman who, together with her family owns quite a lot of property in Coeymans, and who is doing a lot to clean up some of the eyesores that Crandall, Youmans and their cronies seem to be creating in Coeymans (just check out Coeymans Hamlet if you haven’t done so recently). The woman and her family recently made several requests to the Coeymans Building Department Officer, John Cashin. One of those requests was regarding verification of the number of occupancy units in one property and the other was relating to water and sewer bills. Occupancy and water and sewer seem to be the perennial open sores in Coeymans but so is incompetence in Town Hall, too.

Well, Mr Cashin didn’t seem to be able to manage the simple English that was involved in the requests, and managed to confuse the two in his response. Seems he’s having some difficulty with the word “temporary.” The word “temporary” means ‘of short or limited duration; not permanent,” if that helps, Mr Cashin. But at least Mr Cashin is reasonably courteous, even if he’s not a rocket scientist and a bit thick.

But Hey! Coeymans, you guys put those dumbasses where they are.

Estrogen-Man: Abusive men usually are hiding their inner woman.

Estrogen-Man:
Abusive men usually are hiding their inner woman.

We’ve read the resident’s correspondence to the Town of Coeymans in which the resident is asking for clarification of what the Town is doing with the request since April of this year. We gather from the correspondence that no one, elected or employee, has much of a clue what is going on. The resident’s request has been bounced from the Town of Coeymans Board to the Village of Ravena, back to the Town of Coeymans. In the meantime, the resident is attempting to pay a tax bill! Of course, as many of you property owners in the Town of Coeymans and the Village of Ravena know, neither the Town of Coeymans nor the Village of Ravena have ever been able to sort out anything with regard to water and sewer bills! It’s just a vicious circle and many residents are infuriated by the incompetence and indifference in Town and Village Hall! Unfortunately, Mr Cashin, too, is afflicted with dyslexia and overall confusion. Listening and understanding don’t seem to be nor have they ever been a strong point in Ravena and Coeymans. But Hey! Coeymans, you guys put those dumbasses where they are.

But back to Bully Jim Youmans. John Cashin is the town employee responsible for building issues, and he’s the town officer who should be responding and cooperating with the resident business owner to resolve this issue in a fair and just manner.

Youmans: “Pay up[,] crazy lady.”

If you said that to a man, Youmans, you’d be brushing your teeth in your butthole!

Coeymans Town Board Member

Coeymans Town Board Member

After all, Coeymans should be kissing any business owner’s ass just for being in Coeymans!!! Crandall, to his credit — probably because he hasn’t a clue how to answer otherwise — correctly passed the resident’s correspondence to Cashin, who responded, albeit a bit confusedly, he did respond incorrectly but respectfully. But here’s were bully-coward Jim Youmans has to get his fat ass involved, and adds his abusive two cents: Youmans somehow manages to absurdly respond to Cashin’s email to the resident and in a two-sentence regurgitation of stupidity and abuse writes: “Pay up crazy lady” and signs his stupidity with James C. Youmans, Councilman, Town of Coeymans. That says it all for Coeymans and its town board. What’s worse is that Youman’s cc’ed practically the entire town hall with his stupid abuse!

We’ve reminded Coeymans voters again and again of the kind of people they’ve been putting in office, while asking “How can you be so stupid?” Perhaps we have the answer when we just consider the simple fact that perhaps these jackasses in Town and Village Hall are, in fact, representative of the people of Ravena and Coeymans, with very few exceptions. Maybe WE are missing the forest because of the trees. People like Youmans, Crandall, Dolan, Warner, Misuraca are in office because they truly represent the people of Ravena and Coeymans. Hear the banjos yet?

What Youmans seems to forget is that he is a public servant. What he seems to have forgotten or never knew in the first place is that we expect him to respect residents and to do everything possible to be helpful to residents and businesses. Youmans, however, continues to be the ignorant brute he has always been. He’s a bully, a coward, an abuser of women, and a boil on Coeymans’ ass. He needs to go!

Youmans on Coeymans

Youmans on Coeymans

We demand that he make a public formal apology to the woman he refers to as “crazy lady.” We don’t need a disrespectful, ungrateful bully on our town board. Either the Supervisor or the entire board must demand he apologize, or they must distance themselves from him. He should be shunned by the community for his disrespect of women and his disgrace of the office of Town Councilman.

We demand that Jim Youmans make a written public apology for his disrespect of a woman business owner!

It’s like we took two steps forward when we rid Coeymans and Ravena of the likes of Dumplin’ Gregory Darlington and his darlings Dirty Hands Jerry and Cathy Deluca, and dumped Tom Boehm. But now it looks like we took three steps backward, and we have three replacement clowns: Crandall, Youmans, and Dolan (again!). Will it ever get better? At least Coeymans knows how to recycle its trash.

The Good News Is….None! The Bad News Is…The Hydrant Still Leaks!

More Waste. More Waste. When will Ravena-Coeymans taxpayers finally wake up?!? We keep rubbing your noses in the bullshit you seem to be blind to, and you still bend over asking for more! What’s the matter with you people?

Shame on the NYS Police in Greene /Columbia County NY. Your're Disappointments!<

We recently reported on the problem with multiple non-working or deficient fire hydrants in the Ravena-Coeymans community and the risk that situation posed to anyone living in the area. The village of Ravena and/or the town of Coeymans regularly read this blog and apparently got the message that they need to move their fat asses and get those fire hydrants working. But, business as usual in Ravena-Coeymans, they sent out crews to “repair” the hydrants but no sooner were they “repaired” than they started leaking! Here’s what a local resident reports to us in an e-mail:

“[expletive] [expletive] [expletive] The one  hydrant you took a picture of…This morn I’m walking the dog, and see village people [village employees]  working on it, and so I walk the dog another street. OK. 15 minutes ago I walk the dog by it [the same fire hydrant] on Railroad Ave, and it’s leaking from top to sides and bottom …….Great repair job Henry[Traver]!”

Hydrant-in-a-Body-Bag You'll find a number of these in and around Ravena; also some that are so rusted they can't be used! Some don't work at all!!!

Hydrant-in-a-Body-Bag

We can’t or won’t print the words we replaced with [expletive] but we think you can guess what the resident had to say. But we do know that there’s a sort of connection between Mr Henry Traver and fire hydrants. Here’s what WNYT published in April 2010: Coeymans Town Supervisor in jail for arson (WNYT, April 2010). And the Albany Times Union also reported the same thing in the article, Coeymans town supervisor faces arson charge (Times Union, April 15, 2010), which reads in part:

“Nearly two years after allegedly torching his house, Town Supervisor Henry Traver was arrested Wednesday on an arson charge that could put him in prison for up to 15 years.
“Town Clerk Diane Millious said Wednesday night she was stunned to learn of Traver’s arrest from a reporter.
“I didn’t know any of this was going on, honest to God,” she said, noting she had seen Traver only a few hours before he was arrested. She estimated that he earns in the neighborhood of $45,000 a year as a part-time supervisor and said he also works for the Highway Department in the village of Ravena. He has held that position for between 15 and 20 years…”

But please note the “allegedly” in the above report. Since Traver’s property was uninsured and that “there was no apparent motive” for the Traver’s burning down the house he was living in, it seems Traver narrowly escaped a felony charge and prison. But that slill leaves the glaring question why a Ravena Highway Department employee and former elected town of Coeymans supervisor would burn his own uninsured house down. But that’s Coeymans for you. (Click this link to go to the TU story, Coeymans town supervisor faces arson charge)

Stop-Trucks-Entering-Exiting-Sign-K-9193orange flagsIt seems that our elected officials are a bunch of morons. Yes, retards. Driving down Rt 144 we see new warning signs and orange flags that weren’t there before the geniuses on the town of Coeymans board decided to let Carver Laraway have his way with this community and ensure his wealth (not ours) by installing the Carver Laraway Memorial Bridge and the creation of Coeymans Industrial Park Lane. Before the corruption…Oops! We meant “construction” of the bridge, there were NO “Trucks” signs and No orange danger flags. It seems that with the town of Coeymans’ approval of the construction of the bridge, the reasoning, and the creation of Coeymans Industrial Park Lane, the town of Coeymans also created, with Carvery Laraway’s greed and money, a new hazard, a new danger for local residents. After all, if the warning signs and flags weren’t there before it would mean that the town of Coeymans was indifferent to a danger to life-and-limb of residents and were just ignorant; otherwise we have to conclude that the danger didn’t exist before but has recently been created. Now that’s good government and competent elected officials for you. Put your constituents at greater risk; it’s for the good of the community.

Be honest! No jobs have been created! Truth be told, Flach and Laraway are killing jobs and opportunities!

Be honest! No jobs have been created! Truth be told, Flach and Laraway are killing jobs and opportunities!

We have a question for Mr Stephen Flach and his band of flying widgets, the Coeymans town board: Can you tell this community how many permanent jobs were created by Carver Laraway’s projects? Let us be a bit clearer: How many permanent jobs were created by the Coeymans Industrial Park and the Port of Coeymans for persons living in the communities of Ravena and Coeymans? How many, Mr Flach? How many Mr Misuraca, mayor of the village of Ravena?

And here’s one for those morons who keep repeating that Cathy Deluca’s playpen, the moneypit Ravena Health and Fitness Center, is good for the community, that it brings outside persons to the area and to the local businesses. OK. Let’s ask Mr Aaron Flach, nephew of Coeymans town supervisor Stephen Flach, how many jobs he’s created. Take for an example Flach’s laundromat and car wash on 9W, in the village of Ravena. Well Mr Flach, let us ask you this:

  • Now that you’ve closed the only dry cleaning establishment in Ravena-Coeymans, where do you think the dry cleaning business is going? Answer: to Glenmont and to Coxsackie. Nothing comparable in Ravena-Coeymans.
  • And, Mr Flach, what about the people you previously employed in the dry-cleaning business. Are they out on the street or did you create jobs for them elsewhere? Or did Carver Laraway hire them/
  • And, Mr Flach, what about the people who worked in the laundromat assisting patrons and trouble-shooting problems that occurred there. They’ve disappeared, too, Mr Flach. Now if you have a malfunctioning machine or another problem in the Flach laundromat you’re up shit creek without a paddle. But Aaron Flach still empties the coin boxes and turns a blind eye to his patrons. Business as usual in Flachville. The same level of service locals get from Ravena village hall and Coeymans town hall. Business as usual.
  • And, Mr Flach, when you did have employees to assist your customers, when your stone-age car wash malfunctioned or ate someone’s money, there were once attendants in the dry-cleaners who could help. Now what? Business as usual. Right Mr Flach?

So there you have it: Village of Ravena baboons wasting taxpayer money playing catch-up botching up the fire hydrant repairs. We’ve quoted the local morons (as reported by Bryan Rowzee in the Ravena News Herald) who claim that a failing business, the Ravena Health and Fitness Center, and its crook manager, Cathy Deluca, benefit the community because they bring people from elsewhere to Ravena to support local business. But then we have local businessman Carver Laraway and the town of Coeymans board claiming to create jobs but that’s just a smoke screen, they’ve created nothing but new hazards; and we have Mr Aaron Flach actually firing people and downsizing while downgrading services to the local community.

Now we’re not suggesting that a business owner doesn’t have the right to do what he likes with his business but we are suggesting that if a business owner is hurting the community or its residents, he needs to be set right. We’re also suggesting that those who think that Ravena-Coeymans is attracting so many visitors to the local businesses because of losers like the Ravena Health and Fitness Center should take a course in math. They should also shut their mouths and open their eyes to reality of the economic situation in Ravena-Coeymans. Aaron Flach and the phoney jobs offered by Carver Laraway are just two examples of the scandalous practices in Ravena-Coeymans.

Hasn’t anyone else noticed any of this? Mr Bryan Rowzee, local reporter who’s supposed to be covering and reporting on events in Ravena-Coeymans for the Johnson Newspaper Group, publishers of the Ravena News Herald, seems to be sound asleep when it comes to anything newsworthy; seems all he can do his make nice-nice as an insider at the Ravena-Coeymans love fest! The Ravena News Herald is just a propaganda mill that some suckers are still paying $1 to read lies and fantasy reports.

Waste! Waste! Waste! When will it stop?

That’s a question we really have to start asking ourselves and soon! Better yet, let’s find some guts, neighbors, and stand up and kick some elected-official ass at a public village of Ravena, Town of Coeymans and/or Town of New Baltimore public meeting.

They even managed to miss the potholes and get some on the sidewalk! Good for your carpets!

Several months ago we reported on roadwork being done on Rt 144 under the Lafarge conveyor track. That work done by the New York State Department of Transportation was so shoddy that the road was worse after than it was before the work. They had to come back and redo it. Taxpayer dollars wasted!

We also reported on the Misuraca dodos paving several streets in Ravena with loose stone that was everywhere but in the streets. Now the streets are still a mess and tens of thousands of Ravena taxpayer dollars are either on the local lawns, in your carpets, down the sewers, everywhere but on the streets. Taxpayer dollars wasted!

This is what New York State, the village of Ravena, an the Town of Coeymans are doing with your money!!!

This is what New York State, the village of Ravena, an the Town of Coeymans are doing with your money!!!

We have regularly reported on the Town of New Baltimore’s Highway Department’s pack of baboons going up and down New Baltimore streets and road shoveling steaming hot-patch or blacktop into water-filled potholes, or into potholes and leaving it to be washed away or stuck under your car but not doing much for the pothole problem in New Baltimore. We won’t even remind you of the mind-boggling storn drain work that collects everything but water in the National Historic District. Well, that’s what you get when you hire monkeys. Taxpayer dollars wasted!

On Wednesday, March 18, 2015, a contributor to this blog was driving down Main Street, Ravena at about 3:30-4:00 p.m., and noted two large New York State Department of Transportation trucks and a crew of about 7 persons filling potholes. There was a pick-up truck, too, with a large digital sign reading “Road Work Ahead.” That’s nice, you’d think. Well, according to our contributor, it gets better.

Didn't even bother to pat it down with a shovel!

Didn’t even bother to pat it down with a shovel!

“That’s what they told us to do.”

Slowing down enough to see what the crew was doing sent the observer over the edge. It was so disturbing that he turned around and confronted the crew: “What is it you are doing? Don’t you know that’s not going to last 5 minutes. Can’t the state of New York provide you guys with a tamper to keep that stuff down?” You see, the “work” crew was simply throwing shovel-fulls of blacktop or cold-patch into the holes and leaving it!!! Not even a pat with a shovel!!! It was strewn all over the place.

Well, what was even more annoying was the response the observer got. Not only did the fools just stand there with idiotic grins on their sagging faces but one even responded, “That’s what they told us to do.” Without waiting around to find out who the “they” might be, the observer took the pictures that appear in this post.

The blacktop will be gone in a couple of hours but the potholes will still be there.

So, New York State taxpayers, that’s where your dollars are going: Two huge trucks, two huge trucks burning fuel, loads of blacktop, seven (7) or more dildos either standing around or throwing shovels full of loose blacktop into potholes and leaving it there, loose. How much do you think that operation is costing us? Taxpayer dollars wasted! The blacktop will be gone in a couple of hours but the potholes will still be there.

And Where are the supervisors?

One glaring question is this: Where are the supervisors who are supposed to be ensuring that the job gets done right? Well, they’re the ones standing with the blank look on their face playing pocket-pool and dreaming of what they’re going to do with their hefty pensions they’ll be collecting for standing there with a blank look on their faces while playing pocket-pool. And what about our town and village highway superintendents? Shouldn’t they be on hand while this work is going on in their jurisdictions? Isn’t it their responsibilities to ensure the work is done right on village and hamlet streets? Why not ask them?  Well Mr Flach, Mr Misuraca, Mr Dellisanti? Where are the supervisors?

Who is doing the animal control stuff while Mr Tanner is doing his other job?

barking_dog

And who is doing Mr Tanner’s Job when Mr Jeff Ruso is at his other job and Mr Dellisanti is, well, elsewhere?

funny-dogs-barkingNow, New Baltimore taxpayers. Here’s one for you to choke on: One of the NYSDOT laborers who was among the crew doing the make-believe roadwork in Ravena was none other than the New Baltimore town animal control officer, Mr Joe Tanner. In fact, Mr Tanner recognized the observer and courteously said hello. That was nice. But it raised another question we’d like to ask the New Baltimore town board and perhaps New Baltimore taxpayers might want to ask the same question. If Mr Tanner is employed full-time by the New York State Department of Transportation, and if Mr Tanner is out with road crews doing what they appear to be doing — wasting taxpayer dollars now while accruing pension benefits besides — who is doing the animal control stuff while Mr Tanner is doing his other job? Or does Mr Tanner have a special arrangement with the New York State Department of Transportation to take off when there’s an animal problem in New Baltimore? Or does New Baltimore schedule its animal emergencies for when Mr Tanner is off or after he finishes his state job? Given this situation, it’s no wonder that a barking-dog nuissance in the hamlet of New Baltimore can go on for literally years and the town of New Baltimore supervisor, Mr Nick Dellisanti, and town boardmember and animal control liaison, Mr Jeff Ruso, can’t seem to get a handle on it and put a muzzle on the beast. Since Mr Tanner is off doing his state job and Mr Russo is off managing his nursing home, that doesn’t leave much animal control in New Baltimore, does it? In response to requests for assistance Mr Tanner simply responds, “Sign a complaint,” because it’s impossible for him to investigate because he’s on a road crew somewhere else. Mr Russo stays silent because he’s off in Guilderland or somewhere at his office. And Mr Dellisanti? Well, he inspects the parks on Sundays and drives by the dog’s owner’s house. Taxpayer dollars wasted!

Right Under Your Noses: Total Incompetence, Total Waste. Shame on you!

UPDATE: Seems we built a bonfire under Ravena-Coeymans’ highway/public works departments butts. Two days after we published this article the Ravena-Coeymans dolts woke up and properly paved the mudpies on Rt 144 in the hamlet of Coeymans, oddly right across from the town garage! Was it coïncidence or was it the wake-up call we sent?

The Good News is: Ravena is doing much needed roadwork. The Bad News is: The Ravena Department of Public Works under the incompetent direction of fire-bug Henry Traver is doing the work. The Problem is: The Ravena Department of Public Works flunked sandbox and mudpies; They apparently don’t know their arses from their shovels—You know, those things they’re constantly leaning on to support their massive bulks!

monkey with shovel

HOW MANY TENS OF THOUSANDS OF TAX DOLLARS ARE BEING WASTED BY INCOMPETENT ROADWORK?

Question: What do Henry Traver of the Village of Ravena Public Works Department and Denis Jordan of the New Baltimore Highway Department have in common?
Answer: No, not setting fires. They both haven’t a clue, they’re both robbing us blind, we’re paying both exhorbitant salaries and benefits to waste taxpayer money.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

We received a call from a Ravena resident to come down an check out the roadwork being done in Ravena. We had already seen the Ravena Department of Public Works and their part-time borrowed laborers from the Ravena Filtration Plant botching something up on Central Avenue but we had to respond to the resident’s request, so we meandered over to Central Avenue, then to Western Avenue. What a mess!

We’re just wondering how many tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars are being squandered by the bunch of clowns making believe they know how to resurface a street. We couldn’t believe what we saw so we photographed it and posted it as a slide show above.

What we don’t understand is how our communities can pay these bloated morons salaries in the high 50’s plus benefits and pensions to waste money and resources.

This is how Ravena and Coeymans manage your tax dollars!

This is how Ravena, Coeymans and New Baltimore manage your tax dollars!

First of all, it seems they just spread some muck down on the streets and then threw some loose stone on top of it. Silly walruses apparently thought that would do the trick and keep them in their jobs and pensions. Try again! The stone is loose and is flying all over the place, leaving bald spots where cars have skid over the stone. In other places, the stone is so thin, that the cracks in the street show through. Driving down Central and Western Avenues, we left a pretty respectable dust cloud and flying gravel in our wake. But there’s another problem: they don’t seem to have been able to get uniform stone, and there are some pretty large pebbles in the street now that will probably cause some pretty respectable damage to a paint job or a windshield when they’re flung up by passing vehicles.

We’re just waiting for the next heavy rain to see all of the stone washed downhill…or for the street sweepers to come down the street and sweep up all of the loose stone. Maybe Henry Traver or mayor Bill “Moose” Misuraca will then sell it back to the village of Ravena for the Department of Public Works to spread on the streets again. Nice scam!

Not only does the loose stone fly all over the place when a car passes over it, and not only is there the danger that the larger stonessome actually measuring and inch or two acrosswill damage property and may cause injuries to pedestrians, there’s the problem of stopping distance on the loose stone. Try applying your brakes on the stuff!

So Traver, Misuraca, what’s going to happen when the next heavy rain comes down and washes it all away, or the street sweepers collect it, or when the snow plows scrape it all up—assuming it lasts until the first snowfall.

Well, the NYS Department of Troglodites botched up the repairs under the LaFarge converyor overpass this summer, leaving Route 144 worse than it was before with bumps, mounds and troughs. So they came back last week and redid the work. Nice job security. Right? Screw it up and do it again at taxpayer expense!

And what about the professional job the Troglodites did on Rt 144 in the hamlet of Coeymans? They dug up the roadway, dumped some gravel and dirt into the holes and left. now we have bigger holes! Nice Job! So what’s the town of Coeymans going to do about that, now? Probably re-zone it 😉

MonkeyShovelThe Town of New Baltimore Is No Better!

Still More Monkey’s With Shovels!

What we don’t understand is how our communities can pay these bloated morons salaries in the high 50’s to waste money and resources. It seems it’s characteristic of this area to hire incompetents to head the highway and public works departments. Ravena and Coeymans aren’t the only ones with problems in public works; they share that dubious distinction with the Town of New Baltimore. Just take a ride through New Baltimore and see how the New Baltimore Highway superintendent, Denis Jordan, and his crew of flying jackasses patch potholes! Throw in a couple shovels of cold patch, don’t bother to tamp it down, and take off. All it takes is three cars passing over the “work” and Voilà! The return of the pothole! Where’d the cold patch go? Check the bottoms of your shoes and the undercarriage of your car!

Budget time is coming up, neighbors. They’ll be looking for more money to waste next year and they’ll want their salaries increased, too. We think you’d better wake up and participate in those budget meetings—that is, if the crooks and their minions even open the meetings to the public—and start demanding some quality for your tax dollars—and some competent people to do the work.

Smoke Screens, Illusions, Delusions and Propaganda: Coeymans and Carver Laraway

animated sad vsmStay tuned! A contributor asked Ravena Mayor Misuraca, Coeymans Supervisor Flach and New Baltimore Supervisor Dellisanti to list their milestone accomplishments of the past 6 months. Only Flach responded but very vaguely. After two reminders Misuraca didn’t even respond and Dellisanti had excuses. Read our analyses in our next article. It seems the newly elected administrations are confused about what they’re doing.  Hell! They can’t even tell us what they think they’ve accomplished! We’ll tell you Why? And what that should tell you about your newly elected officials.

They just keep on shoveling, burying Ravena and Coeymans!

Now we have Coeymans Town Supervisor Flach and Ravena Mayor Misuraca Joining “blue-collar” Advocate Coeymans Town Board Member Peter Masti Happily Picking up Shovels to Help! There are definitely sides and we have to ask whose side Flach and Misuraca are on?!?

What is that they're shoveling? Dirt or Bullshit?

What is that they’re shoveling? Dirt or Bullshit?

We think it’s more bullshit than dirt that’s going down with the News Herald’s extraordinary coverage of local politicos kissing Carver Laraway’s ass in a lengthy article that neglects to mention the real impact of the bridge project and Laraway’s clever ruse to turn town of Coeymans supervisor Flach and village of Ravena mayor Misuraca into Laraway’s willing sockpuppets.

So Carver Companies, EMR, and TCI are looking for CDL (commercial driver license) holders, heavy equipment operators, and menial low-wage workers (laborers, admin positions, custodial workers). How many CDL dump truck operators do you know who are looking for a job in Coeymans. Probably 0 so the job seekers will come from outside the Coeymans area (that is, they will be paying rents, paying taxes and spending their money elsewhere). Same for heavy equipment operators. That leaves the low-paying, menial positions are left for local residents. Congrats! Mr Flach, Mr Misuraca, Mr Carver, you’ve brought “jobs” to the area! But they’re so low-paying that you’ll need a second job to survive or resort to social services. Thanks! Mr Flach, Misuraca, Carver!

You’ll also find it interesting to see Mr Peter Masti manning a shovel in the above photograph. That’s the same Peter Masti who just a couple of months ago wrote a letter to the editor, which was naturally published in the Ravena News Herald (DATE), in which Masti writes:

Why is it so newsworthy that Carver has renovated a shabby building it owns? Do you make the News Herald when you paint your house, put on a new roof? Make improvements? Hell, NO! Your taxes go up. So why does the News Herald make such a big deal about Carver renovating the building on River Road, which will stand right alongside the Carver bridge? Answer: To cover up the dirt, the dust and the corruption surrounding this whole messy situation.

We mentioned taxes. The town of Coeymans has sold residents out while feathering Carver’s nest with tax breaks! Carver’s cashing in big time in Coeymans while making it appear he’s doing so much good for the community by renovating his own property and taking over Riverview Drive, only later to make it seem he’s doing Coeymans a big favor and putting in a bridge at his own expense to …

All this while getting major tax breaks and advantages. So why are Flach and Misuraca grinning so idiotically while they’re shoveling Carver’s dirt on residents’ heads? And shovels-full of bullshit down our throats?

dust cloud coeymans

Coeymans! You in there?

Speaking of River-views: The approach into Coeymans is in a dust cloud and the area looks like the South end of Albany, the port area. Carver has blocked any river views from Route 144 and has provided a dust cloud instead. It seems that we have all forgotten the pollution that Lafarge has been providing for decades, including airborne heavy metals, and now Carver is providing more airborne pollution. You simply can’t drive down Rt 144 with your car windows down anymore! And they tell us there’s no environmental impact!?! Bullshit!

Check out the June 5th issue of the Ravena News Herald in which a number of local residents state their objections to the Carver bridge project. The article quotes one Elyse Kunz who points out (based on her research) that Carver’s tax assessment on his properties is scandalously low and that the town sees NO tax benefit from Carver Companies’ operations! The point is made on the environmental impact of the Carver Companies, TCI, and EMI on the creek and the river. Where’s the DEC on this issue? Who’s paying them off now?

As we mentioned above, Carver has renovated an older building and has created 4 apartment units in that building. The building is alongside the site of the bridge. Our question is this: four apartment units for whom? We have empty buildings galore in Ravena and Coeymans! Other than Carver employees who will want to live next to the Carver Dust Bowl and listen to the sounds of heavy equipment and trucks all day long?!? What will Carver be asking for rent in the renovated buildings? Has he created low-income housing, perhaps? Or are the apartments intended for more tax breaks?

So far, all Carver Laraway and his group of companies have brought to Ravena-Coeymans is a lot of hype, a lot of heavy truck traffic, and another dust problem. So far, all Carver Laraway and his cronies have produced is wealth for Carver Laraway and a lot of empty promises. If anyone can provide us with information to the contrary, we’ll be happy to correct our statements. Until then, be afraid. Be very afraid!

We’re not going to rehash what has already been printed in the Ravena News Herald. It’s all garbage, contradictory, and only proves that the town of Coeymans town board and the village of Ravena village board don’t give a damn about what residents want. They only know how to butter their own bread and pander to the money-bags. Same ol’ same ol’. Are you all waking up to this yet?

Finally, just a couple of images taken this week for you to think about:

(You are thinking about all this, aren’t you?)

Compare Carver Company's Property with a distressed property in the middle of Main Street Ravena (one of many), just accross from the so- called "Memorial Park"

Compare Carver Company’s Property with a distressed property in the middle of Main Street Ravena (one of many), just across from the so- called “Memorial Park” (Main St. building on left, Carver Company’s on right). What’s wrong with this picture, Misuraca? Maybe Carver Companies can do something to revitalize Main Street, Ravena?

Update: Shortly after this blog was published, the Village of Ravena Building Department posted a “Do Not Occupy” on the Main Street distressed property. We have found out that the owner of the property has experienced such stonewalling and discoöperation with the Village of Ravena because of Guess what? Sewer and water problems that he has been so frustrated with his dealings with the Village that he has decided to try to dispose of the property. Let’s see if one of the local shysters (Biscone) pounce on the chance to “acquire” the property. Or maybe one of the so-called friends of Ravena-Coeymans will pick it up for a song. That’s how it usually works in Ravena-Coeymans: the village condemns and a friend of the administration picks up the property for a penny!

Enlargement of sign in Main St. property window. Tasteful, right? Typical Ravena style.

More harassment? This sign appeared after we published!

More harassment? This sign appeared after we published!

Anyone who has had to deal with the village of Ravena’s bizarre water and sewerage billing practices will appreciate this added bit of harassment provide courtesy of the Ravena Building Department morons. The owner of the property at 124 Main Street in Ravena has had outrageous experiences with the Ravena administration when trying to sort out his water and sewer bills. He became so frustrated that he opted to get rid of the property and the headaches. Now Ravena is retaliating. You might say, “Well it’s only until the inspections are done.” And we’d answer, “How naïve you are!” We know many Ravena property owners have experienced this same treatment. The question is: Why don’t you do something about it?

And finally, the saddest one in this series:

evergreen symbol_75

The huge spruce tree behind the memorial stones in Ravena’s so-called “Memorial Park” on Main Street. Withering, dying!

Throughout the centuries the evergreen has been a potent cultural symbol of rebirth. Our traditional Christmas trees (the tree shown is Ravena’s “Christmas” tree) are a vestige of the ancient practice during the winter season — during the Winter solstice or Christmas season — of bringing greenery into the home to symbolize life in the dead of winter. Living trees have special significance to nearly every culture from Siberia to Palestine to Greece to Germany to Mexico to Native American to Japan and many more. But in the village of Ravena, town of Coeymans, the very symbol of rebirth and life is withering, dying. What does that tell you?

(Maybe it’s a sign of Carver’s dust and Lafarge’s pollution. Do ya think?)

We’re still saddled with the Ravena Health and Fitness Center gobbling up more than $100, 000 of Ravena taxpayer money and feeding Cathy Deluca’s appetite for taxpayer money. The Ravena Health and Fitness Center is failing and you’re paying for it. Why hasn’t Misuraca bitten the bullet and eliminated it? And we still have the corrupt Coeymans Police Department and get this news: Coeymans has promoted Jason Albert from patrolman to detective! Albert is almost ready to retire and this promotion adds some more jingle to his pension! All out of your pockets. They take care of the boys, don’t they? But you’re paying for their party.

(Image Credit: The image shown above of the groundbreaking party is attributed to the Ravena News Herald report and captoned: “Coeymans Town Supervisor Stephen Flach, Ravena Mayor Bill Misuraca, Coeymans Deputy Town Supervisor Peter Masti, Port of Coeymans owner Carver Laraway (red hat), National Bank of Coxsackie President Jim Warren, and First Niagara Bank Vice President John Kennedy break ground for the new $1.1 million, 90 foot by 20 foot steel bridge that will connect the 125-acre Port of Coeymans with the Coeymans Industrial Park. Nancy Warner Strikes Again!

In many ways, Ravena village council member, leftover from the former Bruno dictatorship, and wife of Ravena village justice, Harold “Hal” Warner, is an example of the obsolete, ignorant, and self-serving derelicts we have in small town government. While she doesn’t have time to comply with the New York State Freedom of Information Law but seems to have time to attack local residents. Her most recent stupidity was to file a complaint against a local figure “Ramon” for riding his lawnmower to work. Yes, we admit, riding your lawnmower to work is a bit odd — even in Ravena — but Ramon is much loved for his colorful idiosyncrasies. Seems Warner has a problem with the noise it makes when it passes her residence on Main Street, Ravena. Ramon has some handicap issues and rides the vehicle to the Getty station, where he works. But does Warner have an issue with the monster tractor trailers or other vehicles that pass her place? Better be careful if you ride motorcycle to work and have to pass Nancy and Hal’s place. You’re liable to have their friends from the Coeymans Police knocking at your door with a summons.

Seems when Nancy Warner isn’t harassing local kids with her friends in the Coeymans Police, she’s going after other innocent souls.

What she’s still doing in village hall is beyond our comprehension; why didn’t Misuraca clean house when he had the chance? DUH!

A New Baltimore Resident’s Letter to the Editor: Benway, Norris Obstructing the Board?

New Baltimore Boardmembers Benway and Norris Obstructing Efficient Town Business Policies, Town Clerk Brooks Opposes Set Office Hours and Misinforms the Board, the Public, and Wants More Money; New Baltimore Highway Superintendent Denis Jordan Can’t Keep Accurate Figures or Records!

A New Baltimore Resident’s Concern Expressed in a Letter to the Editor

Letter-to-the-Editor1

New Baltimore Residents need to read this letter and start taking more responsibility in participating in their town’s government! They’ve been screwed royally in the past and some in town hall—not to mention any names but specifically Lisa Benway and Christopher Norris, town clerk Janet Brooks, and highway superintendent Denis Jordan, and others (like Diane Lewis)—want to continue the misinformation, indifference, lies, and unlawful practices!

February 22, 2014

To my fellow taxpayers and residents in the Town of New Baltimore:

I would like to update you on recent activities in our Town Hall and encourage all members of our community to attend the Town Board Meetings.  The meetings are on the second and fourth Monday of each month and the next meeting is scheduled for March 10, 2014.

As you know, the newly elected Supervisor (Mr. Dellisanti) and board members (Ms. Van Ettan, Mr. Ruso) since January 2014 have been actively working to address many outstanding issues left by the previous administration such as purchasing practices, transparency, and issues affecting taxpayers.

I would like to address several issues that have been brought to the Board for action but have been delayed by the boardmembers, Ms Benway and Mr Norris, carry – overs – in – office from the previous administration. Members of the community can only assume, based on Ms Benway’s and Mr Norris’ conduct, that their allegiance is not to the taxpayers and our community. Therefore your participation is needed.

The previous administration may have had policies on the books (procurement/F.O.I.L.) but Ms. O’Rourke, Ms. Benway, Mr. Norris, Ms. Brooks, Mr. Jordan all  chose not follow that law – based policy,  which is in part required by New York state law. The newly elected officials, supervisor Dellisanti, boardmembers Ruso and vanEtten, propose policy to carry out state and federal mandates that all elected/appointed local government officials must comply with.

Procurement Policy

In January Mr. Dellisanti presented to the Board a Resolution to implement a revised Procurement Policy that includes a purchase requisition process, which when implemented should prevent future misuse of funds by the officials and employees of the Town of New Baltimore.  Mr Delisanti, Ms Van Ettan, and Mr Ruso voted in favor of this resolution.  Mr Norris and Ms Benway voted AGAINST the resolution to adopt that Procurement Policy.  Under the O’Rorke regime, these two board members with the collaboration of the O’Rorke Majority (O’Rorke, Benway, Norris)  of the previous administration spent hundreds of thousands of taxpayer money illegally, this is a fact based on the New York State Comptroller’s Audit Report. One would think they would jump at the opportunity to protect the taxpayers’ dollars as well as protect themselves from allegations of unlawful or even criminal activity.

At the February 10, 2014, meeting town attorney Tal Rappleyea provided a synopsis of the Policy and  further clarification.  The Revised Procurement Policy requires the use of purchase orders/requisitions that would include details such as bids and prices of proposed products and services, in order to justify that purchase. Ms Benway and Mr Norris consistently to question the need for such practices.  In fact at the February 10th meeting, Mrs. Benway again expressed her concern for their use! [Editor’s Note: The use of purchase orders / requisitions and justification of need, plus documentation of competitive bidding is just plain good business practice, ensuring that the interests of the public are safeguarded, and public monies are spent responsibly! It’s part of transparency and accountability, something apparently alien to Benway and Norris!]

At that same February 10th town board meeting Mr Dellisanti proposed a resolution- to Adopt Minor Corrections to the Procurement Policy to correct the typographical errors in the previously approved Procurement Policy Resolution; both Mr Norris and Ms Benway voted against the corrections!  [Editor’s Note: It sounds to us that Norris and Benway are just being difficult, wasting the board’s time, and ignoring the real needs of the town. They’re abusing their public office!]

Resolution to Adopt FOIL Policy

Based on the many complaints from the community, the previous Administration, former supervisor O’Rourke, and town clerk Janet Brooks had a very distorted and perverse view of compliance with NYS Freedom of Information Law.  At the February 10, 2014 town board meeting, Ms Diane Lewis, chair of the New Baltimore Democratic Committee and wife/confidential secretary to former town supervisor David Lewis,  voiced  from the audience that a F.O.I.L. policy already existed. [Editor’s Note: To be honest, Lewis has no standing to comment on what policies exist, don’t exist or exist and must be amended; Diane Lewis, despite her arrogance, is not on the board and is just one of us now. So cool your jets, Diane!]  Based on the many complaints from the public, town clerk – Mrs. Janet Brooks, seems to be unaware of this existing policy, or does not understand it, or just doesn’t follow it!

The FOIL policy during the previous administration was ignored as was the procurement policy.

Based on information from the February 10th meeting, the purpose of the revised FOIL policy is to provide a more comprehensive and detailed description of the Town’s responsibility to provide information in a timely and comprehensive manner when demands for disclosure under the provisions of the New York State Freedom of Information Act are received by the town clerk.  Among other things, the policy also re-identifies that it is the Town Clerk’s responsibility to respond to these requests based on timeframes established by the law, to keep a record of each request, and report to the Board on F.O.I.L. requests received.

At the February 10, 2014 meeting Mr. Norris and Mrs. Benway questioned the purpose of the Resolution and were very concerned as to whether or not Mrs. Brooks, the Town Clerk was involved in the preparation of the Resolution.  [Editor’s Note: There is no requirement or necessity for the Town Clerk to be involved in such a resolution. The resolution is a governing activity and is under the sole authority of the town board. The town clerk’s obligation and duty is to comply with the town board’s legislation and the law of New York! Besides, the board would have to catch her when she’s in, and that could be a problem, given her hours.] We the community must remind Ms Benway and Mr Norris that under Town Law the BOARD has the authority to prepare and adopt policy. We further remind Ms Benway and Mr Norris, and if necessary, Ms Brooks, that the CLERK has the obligation to comply with resolutions duly passed by the board. If the clerk has a question it should be presented like anyone else during public session and in the time allowed.  It should also be noted that  Mrs. Brooks’ known previous performance clearly demonstrates that not only did she not follow the simplistic policy of the O’Rorke Administration, she never took the initiative to ensure the taxpayers obtained requested information based on New York state law.  Under the NYS Town Law and as an elected official, Ms Brooks has the duty and responsibility to understand her duties and role as town clerk, to be responsive to the public no matter what directive she may have received from others, particularly if such directive was contrary to policy or law!

It should be noted that Ms Brooks, at the December 2013 Board Meeting, expressed on the record how she could not keep up with the high volume of FOIL requests and recommended that the public be charged more money for their requests.  [Editor’s Note: Why more money, Ms Brooks? Should we dock you for the hours you don’t show up for work and apply that to offset the cost of fulfilling F.O.I.L. requests?] Ms O’Rorke, Mr Norris and David Wukitsch (then town attorney, since fired) supported her dilemma.  Individuals attending that meeting asked how many F.O.I.L. request Mrs. Brooks had received – she DID NOT KNOW!  Mrs. Brooks advised “that it was difficult to know” and  O’Rorke, Norris, Benway, Wukitsch supported her confusion and ignored residents’ questions!  This discussion was approximately 30 + minutes and Ms. Brooks had no factual information to support her claim nor did the O’Rorke board request it. Surprising?

At the meeting of February 10, 2014, Mr Norris advised that he had not had time to read the four – page F.O.I.L. policy so he requested vote be postponed.   No time to read 4 pages, Mr Norris? Incredible! Mr Dellisanti tabled (put it on the agenda for vote at a later date) the vote on the F.O.I.L. Resolution until the February 24, 2014 Town Board Meeting  to provide Mr. Norris ample time to read four pages.  [Editor’s Note: We do admit that Mr Norris has in the past allegedly suffered some psychiatric or psychological problems but let’s hope Mr Norris managed to get through that incredible volume of reading before the vote! Just what we needed: another Denis Jordan!]

Please note:  board member Van Etten identified that in 2013 ONLY NINE FOILS WERE SUBMITTED TO THE TOWN. [Editor’s Note: Geez, Ms Brooks, that’s mindboggling! How do you ever manage such a volume? Maybe you need another deputy clerk? Maybe more money? Nine F.O.I.L. requests in 2013 and you couldn’t manage. Poor kitten!]

RESOLUTION TO ESTABLISH HOURS OF THE TOWN CLERK’S OFFICE was presented to the Board by Supervisor Dellisanti on February 10, 2014

Although the newly hired town legal advisor confirmed the legality of the Resolution, boardmembers Benway, Norris, and town clerk Brooks disagreed that the town Board could require the office of the town clerk to be opened five days a week. The residents of this community have asked that the town clerk’s office be open for business five days a week.  Benway, Norris, Brooks then advised that they had documentation that the town’s lawyer was incorrect.  [Editor’s Note: Now Benway, Norris and Brooks are experts in the law? Our recent inquiries with the New York State Comptroller’s Office, the state agency that oversees town official operations, citing NYS Town Law, seem to disagree with their New Baltimore experts Benway, Norris and Brooks. What doe the New Baltimore Three Stooges know that the Comptroller’s examiners and lawyers don’t know?] They did not share this information with the lawyer or the supervisor prior to the meeting  even though both were available. [Editor’s Note: Imagine that! They didn’t share the information! If they had shared it they would have been told to take a hike and take their foolishness with them!]  Ms Brooks then advised that she would need MORE MONEY IN HER BUDGET TO DO THIS!  Mrs. Brooks is the second highest paid elected official in the Town of New Baltimore. (Dennis Jordan is the highest paid town official making more than $52,000 and can’t even keep accurate figures or do a purchase order!)  She is paid a salary of approximately $29,000+ a year, add on approximately $l0,000 in benefits and that comes to a cool $40,000 in taxpayer dollars.   Mrs. Brooks has the authority to appoint one first deputy clerk and two deputies (currently Marjorie Loux and Diane Jordan) but the town board has the authority to approve any compensation of deputy clerks.  [Editor’s Note: See this blog’s report on the NYS Town Law on this subject. Ms Brooks and her cronies have it all screwed up. They’re very confused.]. So why can’t the office be open to the public five days a week?   It should also be noted that Ms. Brooks was present in the clerk’s office at New Baltimore Town Hall only eight days in January 2014! [Editor’s Note: Does anyone smell the stench of corruption and misuse of public office here? We do!]

RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE HIGHWAY SUPERINTENDENT TO PURCHASE DIESEL FUEL AND #2 HEATING OIL FOR HIGHWAY USE    BY STATE CONTRACT FOR 2014

The newly elected board members, Dellisanti, VanEttan, Ruso discussed best practices with the Office of the State Comptroller, who recommended that passage of resolution in this matter was the best way to protect the financial interests of the community and the town.   Mr Jordan, Town of New Baltimore Highway Superintendent, an elected public servant, provided his version of the usage numbers to be used in the Resolution.  At the February 10, 2014 board meeting when Resolution was read and about to be voted on, Mr. Jordan DISAGREED WITH HIS OWN NUMBERS and did not want the board to vote on the resolution!!!!

Although the board should have proceeded, Mr. Dellisanti acknowledged Mr. Jordan’s confusion/concern about the numbers he previously provided, and tabled the resolution for the  February 24, 2014, board meeting, thus providing Mr. Jordan more time to figure out how much fuel he used last year during the O’Rorke regime. [Editor’s Note: Now, dear readers, isn’t this all the evidence we need to show why it’s so important that purchase orders / requisitions, justifications for purchases, competitive bidding, and clear recordkeeping be made policy in Town Hall, just as Dellisanti, Ruso, and vanEtten are proposing?]

I have provided this information as a brief synopsis of the situation and as a report on the facts; this in no way should be interpreted to be a personal attack against any individual; it also does not reflect my personal opinion of our town’s public officials or employees.  This information is provided for the sole purpose of identifying current and past actions or lack of action by elected officials, that was not and continues not to be in the best interest of this community, and in some cases is outright untruthful or even illegal.

It is time for all of our elected officials to work as a team, and those who refuse should go!  It is their duty to negotiate, propose, resolve, implement, and adhere to policy legislated by the New Baltimore Town Board, while providing oversight and management, transparency and accountability that is fiscally sound and complies with the law.

Equally important is that each community member, young and old, regardless of political persuasion, play an integral part in this process of representative democratic governing.  It is the community who must ensure that officials hear and correctly understand our needs and expectations, and are reminded that good government is for and by the people; this can be achieved only by continued open and honest inputs from the community and  conscientious teamwork by our elected officials.

I hope that this letter has been informative and that at future New Baltimore town board meetings there is standing room only. You need to participate in all of our town board meetings.

Your neighbor,

A Resident of Town of New Baltimore

Seriously, people, Benway, Norris, Brooks, Jordan really need to be put in their places (that may be a state or federal corrections facility), because they are really taking this town of New Baltimore for a joy ride to hell! Leave a comment and let us know what you think or, better yet, get off your asses and attend New Baltimore town board meetings and find out for yourself what’s going on.

Double-Talk, Double-Standards, Double-Jeopardy: An Editorial

Casting A Glance Over Our Recent Articles We Have to Wonder…

Burning Questions for Residents

Ravena: Change is in the Air

Freshness in the Air</big?

Freshness in the Air

The air is getting fresher and fresher in Ravena. You can almost breathe without Ravena Mayor Bruno or Nancy Warner breathing down your back. Any ideas why that is, Ravena residents? Ravena is facing an historic election, one that, according to our polls and the word on the street, is going to turn the village right around: The incumbent, very unpopular, abysmally low in the polls John Bruno is on the road to a well-earned boot-in-the-ass, and a popular local figure, Bill “Moose” Misuraca, local tavern owner and community leader, is wearing the boot. The same is true for the guys competing for the 2 Ravena trustee seats on the Village Council. Here are the figures as of February 25, 2014:

Ravena Mayoral Race
Bill “Moose” Misuraca, 76%
John T. Bruno, 3%

Ravena Village Trustees
Kieth Mahler, 36%
Laszlo Polyak (write-in), 26%
Joel Coye, 9.6%
R. Persico (incumbent Bruno-boy), 3.8%
Martin Case (incumbent Bruno-boy), 2%

Participate in our Ravena Election polls: Vote Now! Click on this link: Ravena Votes Right: Polls

According to these figures, it doesn’t look good for Bruno, Persico and Case. With those figures, you even wonder why they’re bothering and don’t just throw in the towel, instead of suffering extreme embarrassment at the polls. But they’ve never shown any good sense; why would they start now?

Coeymans: The World’s Dumping Ground

Instead of Senior Housing, Teen Centers, Nature Preserves Coeymans Vision in Your Back Yard Just Keep Sitting Back Quiet

Instead of Senior Housing, Teen Centers, Nature Preserves
Coeymans Vision in Your Back Yard
Just Keep Sitting Back Quiet

We’re having some trouble with figuring out just where Coeymans wants to be in the next ten years or so. We’re having difficulty understanding whether, what, or even if Coeymans town hall has vision or is still blind as a bat and being led around by the nose by self-serving insiders and governed by backroom deals. Here’s why:

When Arby’s needed a slapstick comedy town to rename itself—that is, prostitute itself for a sandwich and be the world’s fool—Coeyman’s stood tall screaming “We’ll do it!”  And they did it: they renamed the Town of Coeymans “Reubenville” for an entire month and in return got a box of sandwich coupons. What Tom Dolan and the rest of the cockroaches in Town Hall, like Tom Dolan,  didn’t steal, Coeymans residents lined up like round rodents to claim what was left. When poorTown Clerk Diane Millious was asked who was accounting for the coupons (each was worth about $6) the otherwise cool and collected clerk just shook her head and said, “Nobody. They just come and take what they want.” [paraphrased]

When Albany wants a dump: They go to Coeymans. When TCI want to relocate their poison plant (just PCBs): They go to Coeymans. When someone wants to create a port complex or build a bridge: The build a high dirt wall to hide the Hudson River (and what’s going on at their port) from our view (Yes, Mabel! Some say it was an NSA requirement to have the wall to prevent terrorism but it still hides the River and, really, how many terrorists do you think it will stop?), or they tear up our roads and choke us with dust, or they simply tear up the environment to build a bridge and possibly compromise a protected waterway. (And, YES! Mabel, they did put in a Gazebo so you can sit and watch the river! Thank you!)  But the slogan is: “Just come to Coeymans and we’ll roll over for you!”

We know who’s getting paid off for all of this and who’s getting really rich BUT how many jobs did they create?

And what about local media? The Albany Times Useless and News 10, 13, and 6 have a heyday trashing everything and everyone in the Coeymans community and Coeymans just…rolls over. Just think about the misleading and devastating reporting that went on News 10 ABC recently about a new business in Glenmont! (see our article: Thank You! All You Can Eat Buffet Discount). Isn’t Albany, Ravena-Coeymans, the Capital Region, New York State, the Country depressed enough? Do we need local “news” media’s help in killing new business and jobs in the area? Let’s all thank Channel 10 “news” and the Albany Times Union for plunging a knife deep into our backs!

Talking about trash and dumping, and rolling over to be screwed: We still have the Coeymans Police Department, too. But rumor is that’s not for long.

But let’s ask these questions: Have any ot these carpetbaggers done anything for the residents of Coeymans besides unload on them and make fools of them?

Please read Pundit’s comments below. They’re particularly good and on target!

Town Government and School Governance

culture-of-corruption Victorina

We’ve recently posted a number of articles discussing the goings on in our town halls in Coeymans and in New Baltimore. One of our articles relates again to the Coeymans police department and the retirement of one of its employees, Gerald “Dirty Hands Jerry” Deluca, who claims to have 32 years on the Coeymans police force (Ravena News Herald picked up on this in and article by Bryan Rowzee. See our revealing article at: Making Shite Shine). We pointed out some very glaring questions about Deluca’s claims and demanded an investigation. Do you think that’s going to happen? Do you think the Town of Coeymans board is going to pass a resolution to investigate Deluca’s claims and publish the results for all to see?

Do you think for a moment that the Town of Coeymans has ordered an investigation or brought in outside authorities to investigate the many claims of obstruction of justice, misprision of felony, harassment, misuse of public office, etc.? Nothing has been done but to shake the criminals’ hands and give them fat pensions! This is NOT going away, Coeymans, so you’d better do something about it.

The recent stupid comments made by the Coeymans official and picked up by the Albany Times Union can’t be overlooked and have not been overlooked by us or our readers. In fact, we won’t even comment but will quote one of our readers who left a comment on the issue:

And our schools? More than $42 million budget. That’s more than the entire budget of the town of Coeymans and the Town of New Baltimore combined! And for what? The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk central school district board of education is owned by the teachers and the teachers union, NYSUT. The budget is getting more and more bloated at the expense of a dwindling tax base in the RCS school district but the quality of education as evidenced in graduation rates and recent reports on the quality of education in the schools is dropping: RCS property owners are being clobbered with every higher taxes, the non-property owners are reaping the benefits, and we are still at the bottom of the list as far as quality of education goes.

But where there’s that much money available you can bet there’s corruption! But the teachers are getting pretty hefty salaries and their benefits and fringes are certainly not going down! They demand MORE and deliver LESS! Why do RCS CSD residents stand for that? Better question: Why do RCS school district property owners and taxpayers stand for that? Any good answers?

Plenty of money and no transparency, no accountability. That spells abuse of public trust, corruption, and crime!

Speaking of abuse of public trust, corruption and crime—and NO! we’re not back on the Village of Ravena’s case nor are we launching another exposé on the Coeymans p.d. or Cathy Deluca and her Ravena playpen, the failing money pit a.k.a. the Ravena Health and Fitness Center—we’re looking at how tax assessments are done in Coeymans but will let one of our readers pour the salt into your wounds on this one, Coeymans (see below in comments).

New Baltimore Town Clerk's Office Hours Board Wants Change

New Baltimore Town Clerk’s Office Hours
Board Wants Change

We’re also looking at the situation of the New Baltimore Town Clerk who doesn’t think she needs to keep regular office hours. We’ve run a story on New Baltimore Town Clerk, Janet Brooks (click here: “If you want me to do my job, you’ll have to pay me more…”), who staunchly opposed the New Baltimore Town board’s attempt to establish regular hours for the Town Clerk’s office. We have also learned that in addition to her very generous salary of about $29,000/year PLUS benefits (healthcare etc.) PLUS state pension, she tends to keep very unusual hours. In fact, a reliable report alleges that in January 2014 she put in all of 8 days! And it appears that previous democrat administrations (David Lewis/Diane Lewis, O’Rorke) never bothered to establish office hours nor to publish even whether the official position of Town Clerk is full- or part-time. Does that really surprise you?

Well, the newly elected New Baltimore town board has uncovered mountains of irregularities in New Baltimore town government and is taken decisive steps to kill the corruption and criminality that has been going on there.

Here’s a comparison for you, New Baltimore residents: The Town of Coeymans is has about twice the population of New Baltimore and the Coeymans town clerk does about twice the number of things the New Baltimore town clerk does. The Coeymans town clerk is full-time PLUS. The Coeymans town clerk receives about $42,000 a year in salary as full-time clerk. The New Baltimore town clerk, Janet Brooks, receives more than $30,000 (total estimate for 2014) but appears to think her job is part-time. Can anyone in New Baltimore explain this? How long has this been going on?

From where we are standing this looks like abuse of public trust, misuse of public office, corruption, and even embezzlement of public funds by stealing salary and benefits! Has anyone tried this in their jobs? Does it work as well for you as it apparently works for Ms Brooks?

The newly-elected  New Baltimore supervisor and his team are working hard to uncover the dirt that’s been swept under the carpets, to get the skeletons out of the closets in New Baltimore town hall, to put things in some order. But they’re getting a lot of opposition from Ms Brooks, her ally New Baltimore Dem Committee chair Dianne Lewis (wife of former supervisor David Lewis), and sock puppet town board members Lisa Benway and Christopher “Chris” Norris, who apparently have a lot to hide. Denis Jordan, whose wife is deputy clerk to Janet Brooks and now New Baltimore tax collector, is tripping over himself on a day-to-day basis.

It’s a mess but given time and energy, newly elected New Baltimore supervisor Nick Dellisanti and his able team of Jeff Ruso and Sally vanEtten, with the support of honest New Baltimore residents, will eventually clean things up and maybe send a couple of criminals down the river.

Ironically, we just received an announcement from the FBI, FBI Announces Campaign to Seek Public Assistance Identifying Acts of Public Corruption (Feb. 18, 2014). Does this mean there’s still hope? Or is it a smoke screen? Maybe you should participate in this FBI campaign.

That all said, now is a time to put basic American values and solid tradition back in our town halls, people. We’ve gotten very lax in our churches and town halls, in our politics and our spirituality. We need to rediscover our values and stop this stupidity we call political correctness and all of the dehumanizing secularity we wallow in because we are so damned confused the only place to go is back into our shell and make-believe there’s nothing out there but US!

Please read Pundit’s comments below. They’re particularly good and on target!

Rebuild My House
We Need to Rediscover Values and Belief

Local media has turned into propaganda mills, schools are crap, kids brains  are turning to mush and getting sucked into their electronic toys, mummy mayors and witches on sticks close our youth centers but reward insiders with fitness centers, property owners are being sucked dry by incompetent vampire school systems, police keep everyone properly intimidated and provide the necessary harassment and retaliation, churches are empty or populated by ministers who preach political agendas and hypocrites reading the Scriptures, town halls are meeting places for crooks and backroom deals, roads are full of potholes, Main Street is a ghost town, they’re turning our meadows and forests into transfer stations or dumps, and they’re building walls to hide our river. That’s America in our little community. Does it get any worse?
