Who are the Thought Police in Your Community? Do you know?

“As members of a community, even as citizens of a nation, we are frequently exposed to and have to cope with what is known as groupthink, a phenomenon that may seriously compromise our image of ourselves, our relationships with family, friends, neighbors, community leaders, and may also compromise our moral rights of personal dignity and autonomy. And yet, groupthink is precisely what underlies much of our “training” in how to be good citizens and in the so-called education programs and our social organizations, and is pandemic in most of the institutions in which we work. Groupthink,  shamefully, has been a part of our religious institutions since time immemorial. Agendizing, brainwashing, programming.”

Anonymous Contributor.

We, as citizens, as members of our community, parents and educators, as human beings we are told that we have an inherent and guaranteed right to speak freely and openly about most subjects without the stigma that might apply to a person living and working in a different country. We would like to think that people, especially our elected leaders and our educators, tend to listen to us and give some weight and importance to what we have to say; consequently, we can and should play an important and proactive role in deciding how we live, work and are governed, and in order to do this, we must make our leaders aware that we are aware of the groupthink phenomenon, its dangers and risks, and implement ways of avoiding this insidious, infectious, and fatal phenomenon in our communities and in our lives. Once people are made aware of the groupthink phenomenon and ways to identify it and prevent it, we are on the path to reclaiming the efficacy and authenticity we once enjoyed but lost in the wake of the development of corporate control of our institutions and the chilling of interpersonal relations by online social media.

Groupthink.[1] It’s everywhere and it’s toxic! It’s dehumanizing. It perpetuates lies and factoids. Yet you love it! It makes things so much easier when you don’t have to use your own brain and you allow yourself to be programmed to think, speak, act, perform according to the in-group’s agenda.

Irving Janus mainstreamed the term in 1982. [2] According to Janis, groupthink

“[h]appens when in-group pressures lead to deterioration in mental efficiency, poor testing of reality, and lax moral judgment. It tends to occur in highly cohesive groups in which the group members’ desire for consensus becomes more important than evaluating problems and solutions realistically. An example would be the top executive cabinet (the president and vice presidents) of a firm, who have worked together for many years. They know each other well and think as a cohesive unit rather than as a collection of individuals.” [my italics]

We can find groupthink in our workplaces, churches, schools, social media, government, and Yes! even in our homes.

Janis identified eight symptoms of groupthink, which are noteworthy and which I will briefly describe below.[3] Persons affected by groupthink may exhibit any of these symptoms:

  1. An experience of the illusion of invulnerability. This illusion produces an unreal sense of optimism and the sense of empowerment to take risks, sometimes extreme, which the individual would not otherwise take.
  2. Acceptance of a collective rationalization. The individual ignores the red flags and warnings and refuse to reassess their biases, prejudices and assumptions regarding reality.
  3. Belief in the inherent morality of the group. The individual and members of the group are convinced of the righteousness of their beliefs and become indifferent to the ethical or moral effects and consequences of the group’s decisions and actions.
  4. Establishment and adoption of stereotypes of out-groups. Stereotypes are a facile way of dealing with the “others” and do not require thinking or decision-making. De rigueur negative presumptions and characterizations of the “enemy” render rational and effective responses to conflict unnecessary. Cookie-cutter responses are the result.
  5. The imposition of direct pressure on dissenters. Any deviation from the presumptions and dictates of the group results in sanctions. Individuals, group members are discouraged from expressing alternative views, or representing positions conflicting any of the group’s views.
  6. Requirement of self-censorship. The individual and members of the group are required to ensure that any questions, doubts and deviations from the group’s “consensus,” program, or agenda are not expressed. The individual must “watch his/her mouth” or be sanctioned.
  7. The illusion of unanimity. The views and judgments, decisions and actions of the “group” or of the group’s statutory and declared leader(s) and majority are assumed to be unanimous, justified and reliable.
  8. The presence of self-appointed ‘mindguards’. Certain members isolate and “protect” the group and its leader(s) from information that is problematic or contradictory to the group’s cohesiveness, view, and/or decisions. These are the “thought police” who ensure that any information that can potentially threaten the group or its leaders is filtered out and neutralized.

In other words, the phenomenon of groupthink seems to have grown out of and fits perfectly into the framework of George Orwell’s dystopian novel, “Nineteen-Eighty-Four,” with its implications of superpower invulnerability, collective processing of carefully cooked data and information, a sense of moral superiority of the group’s decisions and actions, the facile handling of non-members by the application of stereotypes, direct suppression and sanctioning of any opposing thought or expression — the individual “watches his mouth” to avoid attracting attention to himself and possible sanctioning —, all communications and indicators seem to indicate that “everyone is on the same page” and “stands united.”  Finally, the self-appointed “mindguards,” the Orwellian “thought police,” ensure that everyone toes the mark, knows his place, and follows the “party line.” Sounds awfully much like PC, political correctness, doesn’t it?

The Thought Police or Mindguards ensure that you don’t think out of the box.

As I mentioned above, groupthink is easily observed in our schools, churches, public servants, social groups, the workplace, etc.

Here’s an example that comes from my college days when I worked as an encyclopedia salesperson. We were trained to ask potential purchasers questions that they could not disagree with, such as, for example: “You do care about your children’s education, don’t you?” or “You want your children to have the best available information for school, don’t you?” Once they answered in the affirmative, they were cooked. It was sort of like asking a veteran the question, “You do love your country, don’t you?” Or a clergyperson asking a dissenter, “You do believe in God, don’t you?” Ask those sorts of questions and you get a commitment to groupthink; the rest follows once the individual is on the slippery slope to group membership, willingly or not.

It’s certainly easy enough to self-test yourself by asking yourself if any of the above symptoms could possibly apply to you…but be aware of the sneaky symptom of “self-censorship” because you might actually be unaware that you are self-censoring; you may actually believe that what you say you believe is in fact what you believe. (Please go back and reread that last part. It’s important and you really didn’t understand it, did you?!)

Everyone connected to the same “brain”, the core-group’s!

Here’s a real example: I was at my fitness center and struck up a conversation with a guy who was working on a neighboring piece of equipment. The conversation started out on muscle groups and doping, use of anabolic steroids, doping scandals, and how natural fitness was desirable over and against taking performance enhancers. The conversation drifted to the inquiry, “What do you do?” The guy was intelligent, apparently well-read in the subject of performance enhancers in athletes, and was no dummy. He responded by telling me he was a “personal income tax auditor” for the state of New York. What followed was a textbook example of groupthink. He commenced by telling me how interesting his job was because he was making sure everyone stayed honest. Everyone should pay taxes. Not everyone was honest, some people were honest but ignorant. The tax department and auditors were there to protect the public. He was happy doing what he was doing, and he liked his work. He was protecting honest citizens from the crooks and the parasites. New York state took care of its people unlike those states with no personal income tax, states that provided sanctuary to people who want to keep their fortunes but not share by paying personal income taxes. Basically, you can’t argue with this guy because what he is saying is superficially true, ethical and moral. But, and there’s the clincher, his thinking from one subject to the other was schizoid! He was very individualized, independent, even liberal when discussing the social and personal impact of performance enhancers on non-professional vs. professional athletes, and the use of performance enhancers in the guy-next-door who works out to stay healthy or attractive. His lock-step “tax department” jargon and speech, almost soapbox preaching, was groupspeak, the product of groupthink. Can you identify the symptoms?

Here are two more examples I found on a professional networking site, LinkedIn, which is slowly morphing into a Facebook-type social media space. Whereas LinkedIn was originally intended to be a forum facilitating networking among professionals, the parasites slowly infiltrated and started their social justice preaching and religious proselytizing.

One characteristic of social justice and religion is that both are fertile ground for a bumper crop of groupthinkers. Example 1: Social Justice. This example is remarkable because it is so homogeneous in the majority responses and because of the sheer number of responses: 5,013 Likes, 321 comments! Synopsis: A young woman with Down’s syndrome appears in what is obviously a staged video, in which she receives a call from a fast-food chain, Chik-Fil-A, in which she is offered a job paying $11.50/h. It is her first real job and she is elated at the offer and accepts.

The groupthink: Actual comments: “Awesome!” “Wonderful!””Isn’t Chik-Fil-A a great company!””The story brought tears to my eyes!” “It made my day! We need more stories like this!” But many of the comments were condescending: They mentioned “learning disability” and how remarkable it was that this young woman had “won,” how employment “is a right,” and other misguided slogans associated with what we know as PC but was described by Janis as groupthink. The censorship/sanction/thought police action: A commenter posted some reasonable, dissenting, conflicting thoughts about the reality of the situation in terms of stereotyping highly functional Down’s syndrome  persons as having “learning disabilities,” a bucket term that stereotyped them unfairly. That she was hired on her merits and if she didn’t have what Chick-Fil-A needed and wanted, she would not have gotten the call. That Down’s syndrome persons are highly desirable in service jobs with customer contact because of their personality characteristics, as was pioneered by McDonald’s some time ago, and that these corporations are exploiting vulnerable persons with Down’s syndrome because they are perfect for these low-paying jobs, and it creates a very positive social image for the corporation, so-called “organizational health.” (See the McKinsey report below.)

Needless to say, the “mindguards” were quick to respond, and butchered the commentor for being “a Grinch,” for not “caring” and for his “dripping sarcasm.” Not a single comment out of more than 300 comments and replies accepted the truth of what the commenter wrote; almost all condemned him for not sharing the majority’s groupthink. (Click here to read the actual comments made by the commenter and some of the replies.)[4]

The value of hiring persons with Down syndrome is not lost on the corporations![5]

The economic benefits of hiring persons with intellectual challenges is not lost on the corporations, as is demonstrated by the McKinsey report[6], but we’re not supposed to talk about the dark side of Julia’s hiring because the group think won’t allow anyone to pop their bubble of denial or distract them from their happy, be nice, love fest by suggesting reality. That’s groupthink.

Here’s another from the same site, LinkedIn. This time it was a religious fanatic known popularly as a “Jesus-freak,” someone who posts an inflammatory statement about how Jesus is the truth and everything else is a lie. First of all, such posts are more Facebook quality and have nothing to do with professional networking, so it shouldn’t have been on LinkedIn in the first place. So the original post by one David Wood, who describes himself as the “Executive Producer Resurrection of Jesus Christ, Resurrection of Jesus Christ LLC, School Of Hard Knocks,” and his project as:

“The Resurrection Project unites the Body of Christ, to launch a global love movement, a feature length movie, and a video game, and tell the story of Jesus’ Christ resurrection and the 40 days that followed. “The Resurrection of Jesus Christ” is the greatest love story ever told.” www.theresurrectionofjesuschrist.com [Author’s note: My italics; I have not undertaken any editing of Mr. Wood’s English.]

His post was simply:

That was it. My first reaction was that Islam never claimed that Muhammad was God. Nor does Buddhism teach that Buddha was a god. The name applied to God in Arabic, and hence in Islam is Allah, which is merely an equivalent of the English, God, so that point is really moot. And the fact that Wood claims that his Jesus is the “only one God” reveals a bit of tunnel vision, even religious and theological ignorance. This is groupthink at one of its worst moments!

My point is this: Approach that post as I did, with the above reasoning, and you will obtain a clear lesson in groupthink.  The post received 51 Likes and 15 Comments but was seen be hundreds, perhaps thousands who didn’t want to “offend” by responding. (Or perhaps because religion is not as popular as Down’s syndrome? Or because the message was so bizarre? Who can say for sure?)

Those three examples should suffice to convince even the hardcore groupthinkers of their affliction.

The kinds of groups that are particularly at risk for the groupthink phenomenon are, of course, groups that we could characterize as cliques, whether consisting of 3 or 3000 persons. Cliques don’t need to be small and a whole company or department may become a clique. The group or clique should be cohesive for groupthink to develop; cohesive factors may include ethnicity, similar interest, and physical appearance. Members of a clique often isolate themselves as a group and tend to view the clique as superior to anyone outside the clique.

Cliques can form in any age group but they are most associated with groups whose members have gotten stuck in an adolescent or late childhood developmental stage, the stage when individuals normally form and become members of such groups. Accordingly, groupthink is characteristic of individuals who may have gotten stuck in a pre-adult developmental stage.

Facebook is a well known huge groupthink-collective in which groupthink can be diagnosed at various levels in the interactions from the very top, where the Facebook Standards and the thought police are active censoring deviant thinkers, that is, anyone who may not agree with Facebook or its policies, to the smaller yet equally repulsive “groups,” which may be “open,” “closed” or “secret”. The problem and real danger associated with Facebook and other social media that functions by exploiting the groupthink phenomenon is the sheer numbers of people who can be and actually are affected by the clique(s).

The proven disorder of Facebook Addiction or Internet Addiction Disorder make the problem even worse because once subscribers are addicted, they are captivated by the groupthink phenomenon and cannot escape.(See our article on Facebook Addiction Disorder on this blog.)

It’s the beginning of the end of open communication, autonomy, and due process.

Another problem is what I would call the “Room 101” factor[7]:  the fact that in terms of groupthink, when Facebook decides to deactivate an account for one reason or another, whether for a period of time certain (days, weeks, etc.) or permanently, this “punishment” practice has a psychospiritual effect on the affected individual, similar to being shunned or banned froma group or a clique. It is a powerful motivator to keep people under their thumb, a control strategy, that works extremely well once Facebook has hooked a person, and the person is sufficiently invested in Facebook in terms of time spent online and digital friends collected, such that the now addicted subscriber will feel the psychosocial pain of being “deactivated.,” in a sense placed in isolation by Facebook without the benefit of due process. Yes, it’s the beginning of the end of open communication, autonomy, and due process. Similar, in fact, to “vaporizing” a dissenter in Orwell’s “1984” where the dissenter is simply made to disappear, as if he never existed. [8]

The recent reports of Facebook’s cooperation with the US and Israeli governments to deactivate certain Facebook pages because their messages are “inconvenient” is a very disturbing step taken in the direction of thought control, Thought Police and Mindguards. That’s why we’ve been trying to get through to our readers to campaign against social media like Facebook! (See our articles on Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg‘s ambitious agenda to become God. Once he’s got a fifth of the world’s population addicted to Facebook and can control what they read, hear, see, and say, he’s well on his way to become the next Dictator in Heaven.)

The same “vaporizing” occurs when someone “unfriends” or “blocks” another subscriber who may have violated the group-leader’s or the group’s groupthink policies. Have you been Facebook vaporized recently? You wouldn’t know if you had been because Facebook strategically keeps it a secret; only the vaporizer and Facebook know it. Same applies when someone has a grudge against you on Facebook: they simply report you for such-and-such, and you find yourself deactivated. Groupthink à la Facebook!

The groupthink phenomenon can be avoided but only if the clique or the group is willing to acknowledge the phenomenon, to recognize it in their group, and sees the benefits of avoiding the phenomenon.

Fred Lunenburg (2012) proposes a number of possible ways to avoid groupthink in a group, including[9]:

  • Encouraging group members to state and air objections, doubts, and questions,
  • Promoting impartiality rather than stating preferences and expectations of the group at the outset,
  • The group leaders should periodically discuss the group’s policies and practices and report their transactions back to the group, inviting feedback,
  • Members should be invited to challenge the views of core members (and leaders),
  • At least one member should play the role of devil’s advocate, expressing objections or critiquing group policies and practices, and beliefs,
  • Where there is devil’s advocacy, members should spend time and effort evaluating the warning signals of developing groupthink inherent in adverse responses,
  • Alternative scenarios should be constructed by group leaders in evaluating any rivaling intentions,
  • In the case of a member who appears to consistently rival the group’s polices or practices (Red flag! Think groupthink!), the member should be asked to express as vividly as he can all his residual doubts,
  • Group leaders or core members should present the entire issue to the group to elicit feedback and insights before making any definitive choices or decisions.

Group coherence and decision making has clear benefits over individual decision making. This is especially true when a decision must be made under conditions of uncertainty.[10] Some of the benefits described by Bonito (2011) include[11]:

  • Improved decision quality
  • Higher level of creativity and creative thinking
  • Improved decision acceptance and organizational learning
  • Increased decision understanding
  • Enhanced effectiveness in establishing objectives, identifying alternatives
  • Greater decision accuracy and avoidance of errors and glitches

Admittedly, these benefits may be less related to the actual outcomes of decisions than they are to group morale and satisfaction; we can agree that groups should and probably do perform better when

  • Group members present a variety of relevant skills that differ sufficiently but do not create constraints or conflicts;
  • There is a division of labor or effort, input;
  • Individual inputs can be “averaged” in such a way as to arrive at a group “position.”

Are you controlled by the Thought Police, the Mindguards from the cradle to the grave?

By now you might be asking yourself the question: “That having been said, and while applicable to business decisions or to Facebook and other moderated social media, how does that apply to spiritual care or to our lives in our communities and the nation at large?” Well, in order to answer that question, I have to ask you to step out of your stall in the sheeple box, and think about the environment in which you live. Ask yourselves if you can identify groupthink in these situations:

  • In your church or faith community. (Hint: How do you talk about other faith or belief groups)?
  • In the Sports Association or Social Club. Do you have to toe the mark in what you talk about?
  • In your political or social club (Hint: When at a Republican Club or Democratic Club or American Legion occasion, are you careful what you say?)
  • In your children’s schools (Hint: Do you speak your mind at a Board of Education meeting or just sit simmering? At a PTA meeting what do you feel you can discuss? Do you even attend any of these?)
  • At town board or village board meetings (Hint: Do you speak your mind at a board meetings or just sit simmering? Do you even attend any of these?)
  • Have you ever avoided going somewhere or doing something because you were concerned what “they” would say?
  • Are there subjects or topics or language that you avoid specifically to avoid being stereotyped or labeled? Do you choose political correctness over truth and honesty? Do you do that out of fear of the Mindguards?

Are you being stalked by the community or social media Thought Police, the Mindguards?

At home do you have open discussions with family members or are some subjects simply avoided or off-topic? Are the Thought Police at work in your home? Or are you letting the Facebook and social media thought police do their work for you? Have you seen your kids today?

When is the last time you looked at what your schools are teaching to your children? Have you ever openly questioned what they are being taught? Or are you letting the Mindguards manage your kids’ minds?

At work do you challenge social injustice or do you simply turn your back hoping it won’t hit you next? Are you open in discussing what you feel needs to be considered for change? Do you suggest improvements? Or are you living in constant fear of being “vaporized,” “unfriended,” “blocked” by your employer or even your workmates and coworkers?

Have you been castrated by the Thought Police, the Mindguards?

Most of us will find ourselves interacting throughout our entire lives with employers, educators, community members, governing bodies, committees, or just with our families. We take these interactions for granted; that’s a big mistake..Each of these environments is at high risk of the groupthink phenomenon, and we need to start thinking about the nature and quality of those interactions. Can you identify the symptoms of groupthink in any of your relationships or interations?

We frequently say that “emotions are contagious,” but we don’t frequently admit that not only emotions but the environment created by the attitudes and thinking of leaders and core members in a group are just as contagious in the form of groupthink.

Organizations like schools, religious institutions, government, social organizations are hotbeds for the groupthink

Those of us who are aware of our lives will admit that each group or community has its own culture, and if we are to work effectively with the members and effetively serve the ourselves and our community, we have to be aware of the groupthink phenomenon as it most certainly exists in that group or community. Ask yourself if you feel your teachers, your administrators, your elected officials, local law enforcement are listening to you and your concerns and their attitude towards the “necessary evil” of your opinion must be tolerated rather than facilitated. That attitude extends to all the members of the community, including educators, elected officials, law enforcement, etc.,  and the symptoms of groupthink can be quickly and easily identified if you care to look. How do we deal with that situation armed with the awareness of the probable existence of groupthink?

Organizations like schools, religious institutions, government, social organizations are hotbeds for the groupthink phenomenon because they are founded on very clear principles of operation and program; they have their” agendas.” The objectives and goals of the group are clearly defined and the members are controlled by the assignment of specific tasks and imposing protocols. The agenda is clearly defined. You simply don’t dissent or rock the hospice boat. Groupthink.

Institutional Agendas Define the Group.

As “tradition” the groupthink may have developed as a response to the local culture, whether it be socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, etc. In this case, it is a response to the exigencies of doing living and functioning with that demographic mix, and is almost a requirement for survival. Is this “positive” groupthink? Perhaps, but it goes without saying that unless the establishment leaves the door open to open discussion, sharing of insights, correct interpretations of warning signs and red flags, it can quickly transmute into “negative” groupthink.

As the organization leaves the traditional, local, “family” orientation or organization and moves towards the group or the corporate systems, groupthink becomes more of a high risk than a positive stabilizing factor. This is where the culture of the group or corporation overshadows the individuals that move it as well as those who consume its products and services. Rather than being an evolving, “living” organism, it is a monolith. Again,I can’t help but cite Facebook or the federal government as outstanding examples of such a negative development.

A number of large multinational corporations like IBM, 3M, Anheuser-Busch have recognized the threat posed by groupthink and have implemented and developed processes to prevent or at least to mitigate its deleterious and prejudicial effects within the components of the organization and on the organization as a whole. Lunenburg (2012) discusses some of the ways they have approached prevention of groupthink by way of methods like devil’s advocacy and dialectical inquiry. McDougel and Baum (1997) discuss the application of devil’s advocacy to stimulate discussion and avoid groupthink in focus groups.[12] McAvoy et al. discuss how devil’s advocacy and the principles of sensemaking can be used in a method they call the “agitation workshop” as a method of challenging the false consensus created by the groupthink phenomenon.[13]

Do frequent meetings and evaluations work to avoid groupthink? More likely than not, they may actually promote groupthink when leadership reiterate at each meeting the same expectations at the outset, setting the stage for a more limited and controlled conversation that does not allow for alternative discussion. But such meetings and evaluations and be highly productive if, at the outset, the leaders or facilitators are aware of the symptoms of groupthink and some of the methods to directly avoid it, as well as the quasi-paedagogical methods of enhancing creative thinking, even improving performance by institutionalizing dissent!

We can and should play an important and proactive role in making the organizations and leaders with whom we work aware of the groupthink phenomenon, its dangers and risks, and ways of avoiding the phenomenon in our environments. Once people are made aware of the phenomenon and ways to identify it and prevent it, we are on the path to reclaiming the efficacy and authenticity we once enjoyed but lost in the wake of the development of corporate control of our institutions and the chilling of interpersonal relations by online social media.

By using your brain you can avoid the dangers of groupthink!

A girl named Julia gets a phone call from a Chick-fil-A employee in Rancho Murieta, California. ‘I was just calling to offer you a position here,’ the woman says on speaker phone. ‘Your pay rate would be 11.50 per hour, would you like to accept?’ ‘I do,’ Julia says, her face overcome with emotion. As the woman tells her that she will start in December, Julia breaks down in tears of happiness. ‘Oh my gosh,’ she can be heard saying as she thanks the woman profusely. Julia’s family then encircles her and gives her a massive hug while chanting ‘Chick-Fil-A’. “ (AutoNews- Source:

Those that have done so have found that these people can add value to organizational health (an organization’s ability to align, execute, and renew itself faster than competitors so that it can sustain exceptional performance over time). Criminals Thumbing Their Noses to Law Enforcement? Why?

Over the past two years or so we’ve been very fair to local law enforcement, very gentle, and quiet but always watching. We’ve kept our ear to the ground and now it’s time to take off the gloves and ask some burning, critical questions. Why is it that two prime suspects, Zachary C. Stahlman (Glenmont) and Donald J. Howell, both with criminal records, Stahlman once being charged with misdemeanor possession of a firearm, have not gotten some real attention by local law enforcement?  Charles H. You’re in Good Hands with Allstate. Really?

allstate_sm[Editor’s Note: Zachary C. Stahlman recently breached a lease agreement made with a local landlord for premises for a flea market called, Guess what? Fat Cat Antiques L.L.C. Do you think he was going to stock the flea market with merchandise purchased by his father, Charles H. using counterfeit $20 and $10 bills? According to Stahlman’s LinkedIn site, he  is employed by Allstate Insurance Company  (click the link) as a “sales producer”; Now you really know you’re in “good hands with Allstate”. Doesn’t Allstate vet their employees? Don’t they do background checks? ]

It’s not ISIS or alQaeda nor the Russians nor Alexandr Putin we have to worry about, people, it’s the thug next door or the low-life you’re renting to, and law enforcement’s conspicuous inability to enforce the law and to protect our citizens — or worse still, their refusal to do so. Excuses don’t keep our residents, businesses, property safe from criminals.

Kiss ma ass, cops!

Kiss ma ass, cops!
Lendin, Stahlman, Howell

Something’s — still —  rotten in Coeymans, Albany County, and Greene County. According to information we have received on crimes being committed in the Town of Coeymans and the Town of New Baltimore are being put on the back burner. It seems local criminals are thumbing their noses to local law enforcement and getting away with everything from theft to major vandalism to driveby shootings. So our question is this:

Where is law enforcement and What is local law enforcement doing about all of this criminal activity.

Actually, it’s nothing new and has been going on for some time now.

There are several possibilities: Either law enforcement is asleep on the job and is making no effort to protect local residents and businesses from criminals, or law enforcement is unable to do their jobs. The Coeymans Police Department is small and under–equipped, thanks to Coeymans Town Supervisor Phil Crandall (D) and his harem,  but even so, can ask for assistance from the New York State Police but Coeymans has to request assistance, since the crime scene is in Coeymans’ jurisdiction. What Greene County Sheriff Gregory Seeley (R) and Greene County District Attorney Joseph Stanzione (R) are doing is short of nothing. Seeley has a big mouth when it comes campaign time just before he’s up for election and then he’s real tough on crime. What happens after the elections is anybody’s guess but it does seem he goes a bit flaccid, a bit limp, some erectile dysfunction there, a bit soft on crime. As for Greene County DA Joe Stanzione, he’s been notified about a number of law enforcement failings and seems to have gone deaf or something. Maybe he’s brain dead but he seems to be out to lunch with Seeley when it comes to law enforcement. So what gives, Greene County media? Have you all gone Republican-soft — We thought that was a Dem thing, a Liberal thing…Right Mr Soares? — on crime? What are we financing Greene County law enforcement, the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, to do? Give free rein to the crooks and criminals in Greene County? We want some answers and quick!

It’s totally ridiculous when you think that the suspects can steal NYS dealer plates from a car in the New Baltimore Town Hall parking lot right under the noses of the Greene County Sheriff’s deputies who would be in the courtroom and also have a satellite station in the New Baltimore Town Hall. You can’t make this stuff up! It’s disgusting, really.

Albany DA P. David Soares, the Oreo

Albany DA P. David Soares, the “Oreo”
Still giving CPR to the Albany Dem Machine!

As for Albany County, that cesspool has been a den of corruption and crooks since time immemorial. We all know about Albany County DA P. David Soares and his collection of morons — not servants of the people but servants of the system — in the Albany County DA’s office. Take for instance Soares’ reputation as being the worst DA in the country. The most notable thing Soares has done since he’s been in office is to play the Soul Train race ticket to get re–elected, and then Soares the Oreo turns around and screws the black community. And then there’s his little bunch of trollops like Chantelle Cleary and Carmen Warner, daughter of Nancy Warner, Ravena village trustee, and Harold “Hal” Warner, Ravena village justice, who were involved in some indecency on Facebook, had to resign from their positions in Soares’ office. Well, that’s OK since Michael Biscone collected Soares’ garbage and hired Warner. If you don’t recall the incident, see our article The Warners: A Family Tradition of Misconduct

It gets worse when we have to look back to the days of Gerald “Dirty-Hands” Deluca and Gregory “Dumplin'” Darlington when they were running the Coeymans Police Department and Ravena-Coeymans. There’s the story of Scott Lendin, who vandalized several vehicles on the 9W Auto LLC lot, and stole electronic equipment out of one of the vehicles. He had the equipment in his possession when apprehended. Lendin even allegedly announced that he “had friends in the Bethlehem Police Department,” and he obviously had friends in the Coeymans Police Department and the local courts, too. Because when he appeared before then justice Phillip Crandall, who has since been disgraced and removed from the court and banned from ever running for judicial office again — but who then ran for public office as Coeymans Town Supervisor and was elected by Coeymans voters. Well, the Coeymans Police Department either because of their “special relationships” with the local criminal element or as retaliation, dragged their feet in the Lendin investigation until Lendin was released with less than a slap on the hand. No doubt Deluca and Dardiani had colluded to screw up the investigation, and Albany DA Soares was up to his neck in corruption with Deluca and Dardiani. After all, Darlington’s wife was working in Soare’s office as a secretary at the time. Can you imagine the information that got leaked to and from the Coeymans PD from the DA’s office and back? We reported on this and much more back in . If you don’t remember, you can read our article, Exposé: The Lost Felonies, to refresh your memory.

When Deluca and Darlington were “forced” to resign from the Coeymans Police Department, and P.J. McKenna, a veteran police investigator and law enforcement professional, was hired to be Coeymans Police Chief and to reform the Coeymans Police Department, we were skeptical and still demanding that the Coeymans Police Department be eliminated outright. But we gave McKenna a decent chance and left him alone to allow him to do his thing. Was that a miscalculation on our part?

We are now asking ourselves the big question: Has anything changed? Or are the criminals still in control of the Town of Coeymans?

Well, anyone who’s been tracking the Crandall goons in Coeymans Town Hall, knows damned well that the criminals are in control of Town Hall. Anyone who thinks otherwise is probably on Crandall’s staff payroll. No money for the Coeymans Town Clerk or for the Coeymans Police Department but plenty of money for Crandall’s harem, even if they haven’t got a clue how to run a computer. Right, Nita Chmielewski?

Has the Deluca-Darlington Clown Show become the Crandall-Youmans Sitcom?

Has the Deluca-Darlington Clown Show become the Crandall-Youmans Sitcom?
(Shown left to right: Phil Crandall, Nita Chmielewski, Jim Youmans)

But back to local law enforcement… There’s something really fishy going on in our community, and it looks like the criminals are thumbing their noses to law enforcement, telling them to kiss their criminal asses. Since we published our article on the “Lost Felonies” back in March 2013, during the Deluca – Darlington clown show, we had hoped that things might have changed and that with a professional law enforcement veteran in the chief’s office, things would be getting done and done fairly and legally. We’re having our doubts, though.

sorry-no-change_smDeluca and Darlington had no qualms about doing whatever it took to keep their handlers happy and themselves in their jobs. Retaliation was the rule rather than the exception. Police abuse of power and harassment were routine. Obstruction of justice was the S.O.P. All you have to do is go back and search our articles for the horrible state of affairs in Ravena – Coeymans just two years ago. All you have to do is F.O.I.L. the list of complaints filed against the Coeymans Police Department and its officers. It’s in the public record. Our concern is that with Deluca and Darlington the law was ignored and abused — and all that with the complicity and cooperation of the local town and village courts and justices, not to mention the Albany County District Attorney, P. David Soares — , and residents were not protected from the criminals; we have new faces in the Coeymans Police Department, and while the outright public abuse has disappeared from view, little appears to have changed in terms of public safety!

Residents and Businesses are Under Attack!

But there’s still something sinister going on. Crimes are being committed and the investigations are going stale, if the crimes are investigated at all. And Coeymans Town Hall and law enforcement does nothing but point fingers. McKenna cries that Crandall is depriving the Coeymans PD of resources to which the Coeymans PD is entitled; Crandall responds that Coeymans has no money (but he keeps hiring his minions and populating his office with numerous clerks and girly friends). McKenna blubbers that he doesn’t have the staff or the equipment to properly do his job but he doesn’t ask for help from the NYS Police or the Albany County Sheriff. So the criminals party and local businesses and residents are placed at risk. Is this the “serve and protect” and the government services we expect? Drop the egos you dumbasses; residents and businesses are under attack!

There is Hard Evidence and Corroborating Evidence!

There is Hard Evidence and Corroborating Evidence!
But local law enforcement in Coeymans and Greene County have gone erectile dysfunction, soft on crime!

Make your own decisions. Here’s the timeline on several incidents that have occurred to one single business owner living in New Baltimore and owning property and doing business in the Town of Coeymans:

  • On March 2013:  Scott Lendin vandalizes several vehicles at 9W Auto LLC, steals electronic equipment from one of the vehicles, is apprehended, “has friends in the Bethlehem PD”, appears before Phil Crandall, and goes Scott [no pun intended]  free. Admittedly, that was during the Deluca – Darlington police – state regime (see below for more on this). But let’s go on….
  • On August 2015:  All copper plumbing stolen out of 2530-34  property on Rt  9W, Town of Coeymans – over $7,000 to replace and repair the damage.  Still an open case with Coeymans Police Department. Just a few feet down the road, the insurance broker’s office was burglarized. Is that still open, too?  No update from Coeymans Police Department on this case, except that it’s still “open.”
  • On July 16, 2016:  Dealer plate stolen off auto in 9W Auto owner’s driveway. Greene County Sheriffs called for investigation. No update from Greene County Sheriff’s Department.
  • On September 12, 2016:  Ford Sedan set on fire on 9W Auto lot in the Town of Coeymans.  Reported to Coeymans Police Department for investigation. No update from Coeymans Police Department. Case still “open.”
  • On September 27, 2016: NYS dealer plates stolen while victims car, again the owner of 9W Auto LLC,  is parked at the New Baltimore Town Hall while owners are in court with suspect Stahlman. During the proceedings, Stahlman’s father is thrown out of court for being disorderly, and spends a couple of hours outside; during that time he and has motive and opportunity to remove the dealer plates during the time he is outside the courtroom.  The theft is notified to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department. No update on the investigation. Case still “open.” [Editor’s Note: The Town of New Baltimore has a Greene County Sheriff’s Deparment satellite station in the town hall. It was constructed with prisoner slave labor using prisoners from the Coxsackie Corrections facility.]
  • On October 3, 2016: The owners of 9W Auto LLC receive a text from telephone number 207-5523  “To get these back you will need to send $2000 dollars to as bitcoin wallet address. The text gives the victims one week to pay the ransom or threatens that the dealer plates will be sold, stating that “buyers are already lined up if you refuse.” Greene County Sheriffs Department, Gregory Seeley (R), notified and provided with information. No update from Greene County Sheriff’s Department. What in hell is going on here? Any questions, readers? The Greene County Sheriff’s department has a text from a working telephone number, and a message demanding $2,000 for stolen dealer plates, and what doe they do with this information? Your guess is as good as ours but they’re doing obviously NOTHING!!!!
  • On October 28, 2016: the owner of All Safe Storage, also the owner of 9W Auto LLC, was sitting in his office when a vehicle drove by and discharged a shotgun blast, perhaps two blasts, into the front door of the office, destroying the door and peppering the front of the building with pellets. The owner was in the office but fortunately was not injured. Yes, we reported on this drive – by shooting in our article Drive-by Shooting Arrives in RCS  Coeymans Police Department, NYS Police, etc. present at the scene. Investigation etc. The case is still “open.” No suspects have been arrested. Do you really feel safe in Coeymans?
  • Just a couple of days ago, on Sunday, January 29, 2017, the 9w Auto LLC owner arrives at his lot and  finds tires slashed and flattened on six cars and one truck –  The business owner called 911 for Sheriff assistance. Albany County Sheriffs deputies “busy at airport” and so the Albany County Sheriff’s Department contacted Coeymans Police Department.  A single rookie patrolman appears to investigate this major crime. Chief P.J. McKenna was notified of the criminal activity.  [Editor’s Note: After we left the scene, just a short time after the Coeymans patrolman left, we drove by Mayone’s Plaza and observed two Coeymans PD cars and two Coeymans patrolmen “processing” a motorist. We have to admit, they have their priorities, don’t they?] By the way, we have learned that on January 30, 2017, almost 24 hours after having discovered the vandalism, a Coeymans Police Department detective appears on the scene to investigate.  Several thousands of dollars in damage not to mention the fact that new tires have to be purchased and time and effort expended to replace the destroyed tires. Any guesses, readers, where this one is going?

In fact, we visited the crime scene on Sunday, shortly after the Coeymans patrolman left the scene, and we were shown plenty of evidence, even footprints showing how the perps entered the property and exited it, from the neighboring restaurant parking lot! There was even  — several patches of blood in the snow. Hopefully the rookie patrolman collecting the blood didn’t screw up the evidence!. Obviously the perps cut themselves when vandalizing the cars. Wouldn’t you think that the cops would be checking out the footprints and suspects to see if they had any recent cuts? Maybe. Time will tell but judging by the past performance of our law enforcement pros; we wouldn’t put any money on this bet.

Furthermore, it’s not as if these incidents are occurring hundreds of miles apart! They’re occurring at locations just a couple of minutes away from each other; it appears obvious that the victims are being singled out by a person or persons with an ax to grind. There is obvious motive and plenty of opportunity and several suspects are known. What we don’t understand is that with evidence like that text message and the demand for $2,000 that some law enforcement agency — Coeymans Police, Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple, Greene County Sheriff Gregory Seeley, NYS Police — haven’t apprehended the criminals and why the perps are not in custody!!!! And where is Albany County District Attorny P. David Soares and Greene County District Attorney Joseph Stanzione on these crimes and the failure of their law enforcement people to take some action??? These are questions we can start asking when they’re campaigning for re-election soon.

We're on the case. We're investigating.

We’re on the case. We’re investigating.
Or is law enforcement just dancing the dance?

So, readers, who are the suspects? We don’t think we’re interfering with a police investigation —  if there’s any investigation being done at all — at this late point in time, so we’re happy to share what we have found out:

A couple of very obvious suspects are available, if the Coeymans Police are interested. There’s Zachary C. Stahlman who has a history of run–ins with the victims. Stahlman leased 1635 US RT 9w November 2015 with move in date of January 1, 2016.  Stahlman defaults on the lease in January and returns the keys in February.  Stahlman retaliates by bringing the landlords to small claims in New Baltimore Town Court, before failed and defeated New Baltimore Town Justice Lee Davis (D), and the case is heard by Davis on Sept. 27, 2016 for return of security/last months lease payment.  Davis loses the election and makes an 11th hour retaliation decision against the landlords. Davis’ decision dated December 31, 2016, more than 90 days later, is received by the landlords on January 6, 2017.  This is the Stahlman whose father is ejected from the courtroom for disorderly conduct. Still wondering where the dealer plates went? The case is being appealed by the landlords for obvious reasons. Former New Baltimore Town Justice Lee Davis (D) has quite a bit of baggage — his own brother turned on him — if you missed the drama, see our article, Double-Standard Davis: Asking New Baltimore for another Term as Town Justice?

Here’s the clincher: Our little friend Zachary C. Stahlman has a bit of a criminal history that goes back to 2010. Here’s what we found: On August 20, 2010 state police charged Zachary C. Stahlman, then 19, of Albany with fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon: a firearm, both Class A misdemeanors. Stahlman was issued appearance tickets returnable to Greenville Town Court. Now isn’t that interesting.  (Source: Daily Mail, Greene Police Blotter, Wednesday, August 25, 2010) And again, unlicensed driving: Zachary C. Stahlman, 25, of Albany, was arrested at 11:00 a.m. Oct. 20, 2016, and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation. This Stahman character has a bit of a history, doesn’t he? Wonder if the Coeymans Police or the Greene County Sheriff or anyone else picked up that little tidbits?

"Big Mouth" Hillman

Donald “Big Mouth” Howell

And another prime candidate with a big mouth is Donald J. Howell. Howell works for Capital Taxi in Albany. Howell’s wife, Miranda Cote, is allegedly an hourly employee with the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance (information obtained from See Through NY). The suspect signed a one – year lease with the victims for property that was to be used as a flea market at 1635 US Rt 9W. Howell stopped paying rent in December 2016, and had no insurance. In October 2016, Howell rented 1362 US Rt 9W from the victims as a residence.  Howell did not pay January rent and was given 30 day notice in December to vacate premises.   Howell was identified by local Stewart’s store staff as having announced that he was going to damage the victims’ property. When the Coeymans PD officer was investigating the crime was offered the names of the witnesses he responded that ‘he didn’t need them.’ A NYS trooper on the scene took the names. Question: What did he do with the names?

Donald J. Howell was arrested by Cobleskill Troopers on May 15, 2014, in Troy unlawful possession of marijuana, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and a controlled substance in non-original container (Source: Daily Star, Police Blotter, June 21, 2014). that wasn’t Howell’s first brush with the law. Donald J. Howell, then 19,  and Duncan Clancy, then 16,  were charged on July 1, 2001, with an attempt at a class D felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell; and criminal use of drug paraphernalia, second degree (Source: The Altamont Enterprise, Blotters and Dockets, July 19, 2001). There may be more on this druggie criminal but we’re not law enforcement and we’re not going to do their jobs for them. Did the Coeymans Police and the Greene County Sheriff miss this information, too?

What do the witnesses have to say? Have you even interviewed them?

What do the witnesses have to say?
Have you even interviewed them?

We’re just wondering if the Stahlmans and Howells have any relationship with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department or DA Joe Stanzione’s office. Is there a connection with the Coeymans Police Department or the Albany Machine? Do ya think there might be a connection?

Property owners and business operators in the Town of Coeymans and elsewhere are the pillars of the communities; they pay the majority of taxes that go into paying pubic employees, like law enforcement, and the salaries of elected and public officials. Property and business owners pay for our schools and libraries, too. The very schools and libraries and public services that the criminals and low-life like them are benefiting from at the expense of the very property owners and business operators they are victimizing, and the police are failing to protect! You certainly don’t think that the likes of the Stahlmans, Howells and similar trash are carrying their weight in the community, do you? and the What do you think you’ll have when the criminals drive out more business from Coeymans if law enforcement continues to drag its feet in ensuring that Coeymans and our communities are safe for us all?

So, that’s just one victim, who has been victimized multiple times in recent months. Don’t you wonder why our local news media aren’t reporting these stories? Why is this all hush – hush? What is local law enforcement doing with their time anyway? Well, we do know that they’re not at NYS Thruway Plaza 22 enforcing the stop sign laws. And we do know that they’re not controlling the meanderings of the huge vehicles traveling up and down Rt 144 and moving through Ravena. And we do know that they’re not apprehending suspects or solving any local crimes. That we do know. And what we want now is answers. Lots of answers. And they’d better be forthcoming or we’re going to come down real hard on law enforcement with some real investigative reporting, and some probing questions. And we don’t think it’s going to be pretty.

One final question: When if becomes obvious that the criminals have the upper hand and that law enforcement is incompetent, how do citizens protect themselves and their property? When they drive by shooting, do we shoot back? When they trespass and vandalize our property, do we protect ourselves and our property? Or do we call 911 and get excuses and no answers? If the police can’t enforce the law and keep us safe, what about some good old frontier justice? What do you think?

When we're no longer safe...What do we do? The Editor

Editor’s Postscript

It seems that local residents have short memories so we’d like to refresh your memories. Remember just a couple of years ago, the Deluca-Darlington police state persecuted the sitting president of the RCS Board of Education, who was wrongfully and falsely accused of harassing Josephine (Tracy) O’Connor, by allegedly calling her “fat.” The BoE president was arrested and arraigned, although eye witnesses reported that the accusation was totally false. See our article Congratulations!  Do you also remember that Josephine O’Connor’s father, alleged alcoholic and druggie, Joseph “Joe” Tracy accosted a local business woman at her place of business, hurling abuse and profanities, in the presence of eye witnesses, and when the woman attempted to file a complaint with the Coeymans Police Department, then part-time homey, Kerry Thompson, an employee of the Albany County Sheriff’s Department, cuddle toy of Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple, refused to take the complaint! Of course, at the time Thompson was alledgedly “doing” bimbo rookie Dawn Crosier, who was later fired. Have you forgotten the harassment of local kids, the illegal searches and seizures. The false complaint made by Cathy Deluca about harassment in her illegal Ravena Health and Fitness Center and the refusal of the Coeymans Police Department to follow-up even though a tape recording was produced in evidence showing she lied to the police. Coeymans PD Jason Albert was in charge of that investigation ignored the evidence against Deluca — most likely out of fear of “Dirty-Hands” Jerry Deluca’s and Dumplin” Darlington’s bullying — and did nothing (Albert has since been promoted to ‘detective’. Does a cop apprehend another cop’s hippo wife? Well, usually only if he wants to break off a piece of that ass candy. Promotion must be the reward in the Coeymans PD for obstructing justice.)Have we forgotten the regular harassment by certain Coeymans PD employees, the disappearing complaints, the disappearing felonies? The collusion of the Coeymans and Ravena Courts with their friends and insiders in Village Hall and Town Hall? And let’s  not forget the land-grab conspiracies of Laverne “Larry” Conrad — abusing his position as Town of Coeymans Code Enforcement Officer —and Michael Biscone — in his various conflict-of-interest roles as town/village attorney and real estate attorney — and their friends at the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation. Conrad, Biscone and others had the Coeymans Police Department snugly and cozily in their hip pockets under the honchoship of Jerry “Dirty-Hands” Deluca and his darling dumplin’  Gregory Darlington. In the meantime, Coeymans, your former dumbass fraud police chief, Gregory A. “Dumplin” Darlington is collecting more than $41,000 a year in pension benefits at your expense. And Jerry “Dirty Hands” Deluca is collecting more than $22, 000 a year in pension benefits for his abuse of Coeymans residents. Deluca and Darlington may have been forced to retire but they’re laughing all the way to the bank! The list could go on but all you have to do is search for a couple of names — you should know them — on this blog.  Are you ready to take action against the criminal takeover of your property and businesses? Our law enforcement leaders have to be made accountable to US! They have to answer at our town and village meetings! This includes our county elected Sheriffs, whom we elected to ensure enforcement of our laws and our public safety. If you agree, leave a comment!

For your information, local media, News 6, News 10, News 13, Times Useless, Columbia-Greene Media were all offered details of this story. So far no one’s published. We really matter, don’t we?

We’ve heard that an investigator employed by the Coeymans Police Department runs a side business installing surveillance cameras. It also appears that that investigator recommends his products and services to crime victims. If this is being done during or in the course of a crime scene investigation, it appears to us to be highly unethical, even a conflict of interest. We’re looking into this too. That sounds like something Josephine Bruno (a Biscone, at Prudential Real Estate) or Michael Biscone (also a Biscone) would do with Larry Conrad in their land-grabbing conspiracies. Josephine was in the Ravena Village Clerk’s office and connected with the Ravena Village hall and got insider information on properties in the area. It’s also no secret how Michael Biscone, a crooked attorney in Ravena, connived and conspired with Larry Conrad, Coeymans Code Enforcement Officer, and others, including contacts in the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, to start problems for local landowners and then to pick up the property real cheap. Let’s hope the story of the Coeymans PD investigator is just a rumor. But our experience and local culture would indicate that it’s very true.

Jim Youmans Needs to Apologize or Resign: Bully, Coward, and Abuser of Women

Bullies are Cowards: What more can we say about Jim Youmans?

crandall-head

Disgraced Judge Crandall Coeymans Town Supervisor

jim-youmans

Bully Youmans Town Councilman

Actually, quite a bit. But what we have to say about Jim Youmans probably reflects just as poorly on the voters in the Town of Coeymans. Why? Because you rid yourselves of Youmans several years ago but put the failed former supervisor back on the Coeymans Town Board. How’s that for stupidity?  What’s even worse is that along with Youmans, you put a disgraced village justice, who was disciplined by the State Commission on Judicial Conduct and was banned for life from running for any judgeship again, but you took that disgraced politician and made him Coeymans Town Supervisor. Yeah! Phil Crandall! (Click here to read a recent article on the Crandallites and Youmans.)

And now we’re in a presidential election year and we’re faced with two lunatics who want to be POTUS (President of the United States).

As one local resident, Laszlo Polyak, puts it:
Both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are pilots.
Hillary is piloting the Titanic and Trump is piloting the Hindeburg.
Our choice in November is:
Do we want to sink and drown or do we want to crash and burn?
Those are our choices?

hindenburgtitanic
It seems that the saying is true that local politics forewarns national politics. Why? Because we have two presidential candidates: neither of them is presidential: one is reputed to be a liar and the other a brute. Now compare that to Coeymans and we have a liar, Phil Crandall, and a brute, Jim Youmans. Unfortunately, Crandall and Youmans are both on the Coeymans town board and the damage they can do is further compounded by the fact that they have Coeymans’ own version of a dotty Bernie Sanders in the person of Dithering Tom Dolan. Our concern here, though, is the bully coward Jim Youmans, a disgrace to the Town of Coeymans.

Youmans is a used car salesman — Really!!! — and if that doesn’t scare the living bejezuz out of you, his reputation should. It seems Youmans hasn’t learned a thing since he was tossed out of the Coeymans town supervisor’s office in 2012. Back then he was known to bully fellow board members and he was especially brutal to female employees. In fact, when he was elected to the town board in 2014, one of the female town employees broke out in tears in anticipation of what the future held for them in Town Hall. Now is that right? Is that what Coeymans is all about? If it is you certainly have something to be ashamed of…starting with Jim Youmans.

Coeymans should be kissing any business owner’s ass just for being in Coeymans!!!

All history? Not at all. Just as a leopard can’t change his spots, Youmans can’t change his character; he’s still a bully and a coward. Here’s a recent incident we’ve received a report on:

This should have been Jim Youmans political career!

This should have been Jim Youmans political career!

A local business woman who, together with her family owns quite a lot of property in Coeymans, and who is doing a lot to clean up some of the eyesores that Crandall, Youmans and their cronies seem to be creating in Coeymans (just check out Coeymans Hamlet if you haven’t done so recently). The woman and her family recently made several requests to the Coeymans Building Department Officer, John Cashin. One of those requests was regarding verification of the number of occupancy units in one property and the other was relating to water and sewer bills. Occupancy and water and sewer seem to be the perennial open sores in Coeymans but so is incompetence in Town Hall, too.

Well, Mr Cashin didn’t seem to be able to manage the simple English that was involved in the requests, and managed to confuse the two in his response. Seems he’s having some difficulty with the word “temporary.” The word “temporary” means ‘of short or limited duration; not permanent,” if that helps, Mr Cashin. But at least Mr Cashin is reasonably courteous, even if he’s not a rocket scientist and a bit thick.

But Hey! Coeymans, you guys put those dumbasses where they are.

Estrogen-Man: Abusive men usually are hiding their inner woman.

Estrogen-Man:
Abusive men usually are hiding their inner woman.

We’ve read the resident’s correspondence to the Town of Coeymans in which the resident is asking for clarification of what the Town is doing with the request since April of this year. We gather from the correspondence that no one, elected or employee, has much of a clue what is going on. The resident’s request has been bounced from the Town of Coeymans Board to the Village of Ravena, back to the Town of Coeymans. In the meantime, the resident is attempting to pay a tax bill! Of course, as many of you property owners in the Town of Coeymans and the Village of Ravena know, neither the Town of Coeymans nor the Village of Ravena have ever been able to sort out anything with regard to water and sewer bills! It’s just a vicious circle and many residents are infuriated by the incompetence and indifference in Town and Village Hall! Unfortunately, Mr Cashin, too, is afflicted with dyslexia and overall confusion. Listening and understanding don’t seem to be nor have they ever been a strong point in Ravena and Coeymans. But Hey! Coeymans, you guys put those dumbasses where they are.

But back to Bully Jim Youmans. John Cashin is the town employee responsible for building issues, and he’s the town officer who should be responding and cooperating with the resident business owner to resolve this issue in a fair and just manner.

Youmans: “Pay up[,] crazy lady.”

If you said that to a man, Youmans, you’d be brushing your teeth in your butthole!

Coeymans Town Board Member

Coeymans Town Board Member

After all, Coeymans should be kissing any business owner’s ass just for being in Coeymans!!! Crandall, to his credit — probably because he hasn’t a clue how to answer otherwise — correctly passed the resident’s correspondence to Cashin, who responded, albeit a bit confusedly, he did respond incorrectly but respectfully. But here’s were bully-coward Jim Youmans has to get his fat ass involved, and adds his abusive two cents: Youmans somehow manages to absurdly respond to Cashin’s email to the resident and in a two-sentence regurgitation of stupidity and abuse writes: “Pay up crazy lady” and signs his stupidity with James C. Youmans, Councilman, Town of Coeymans. That says it all for Coeymans and its town board. What’s worse is that Youman’s cc’ed practically the entire town hall with his stupid abuse!

We’ve reminded Coeymans voters again and again of the kind of people they’ve been putting in office, while asking “How can you be so stupid?” Perhaps we have the answer when we just consider the simple fact that perhaps these jackasses in Town and Village Hall are, in fact, representative of the people of Ravena and Coeymans, with very few exceptions. Maybe WE are missing the forest because of the trees. People like Youmans, Crandall, Dolan, Warner, Misuraca are in office because they truly represent the people of Ravena and Coeymans. Hear the banjos yet?

What Youmans seems to forget is that he is a public servant. What he seems to have forgotten or never knew in the first place is that we expect him to respect residents and to do everything possible to be helpful to residents and businesses. Youmans, however, continues to be the ignorant brute he has always been. He’s a bully, a coward, an abuser of women, and a boil on Coeymans’ ass. He needs to go!

Youmans on Coeymans

Youmans on Coeymans

We demand that he make a public formal apology to the woman he refers to as “crazy lady.” We don’t need a disrespectful, ungrateful bully on our town board. Either the Supervisor or the entire board must demand he apologize, or they must distance themselves from him. He should be shunned by the community for his disrespect of women and his disgrace of the office of Town Councilman.

We demand that Jim Youmans make a written public apology for his disrespect of a woman business owner!

It’s like we took two steps forward when we rid Coeymans and Ravena of the likes of Dumplin’ Gregory Darlington and his darlings Dirty Hands Jerry and Cathy Deluca, and dumped Tom Boehm. But now it looks like we took three steps backward, and we have three replacement clowns: Crandall, Youmans, and Dolan (again!). Will it ever get better? At least Coeymans knows how to recycle its trash.

How long do we have to wait? Official or Unofficial?

It’s 12:00 noon on Friday the 13th, ten (10) days after the Greene County Elections, and the morons at the Greene County Board of Elections STILL HAVEN’T POSTED THE FINAL RESULTS OF THE NOVEMBER 3RD ELECTIONS. THE LINK TO THE “OFFICIAL” RESULTS STILL SHOWS “UNOFFICIAL” RESULTS. WAKE UP GUYS!

WE WANT TO KNOW NOW!!!

So far, SILENCE!

So far, SILENCE!

Today, on Veterans Day, we claim to be celebrating the men and women still among us who served to preserve our dignity, rights, and freedoms. What “dignity”? What “rights”? What “freedoms”? Today, on Veterans Day, we slap our veterans in the face and kick them in the ass! Let’s ask our elected officials and politicians Why? that is!

A “Commander-in-Chief” who talks big about “We’ll keep fighting” but who has never served. Politicians who collect the money and get the benefits but can’t stick to the real issues. Media that sells ratings rather than inform us. We’ve forgotten what it is to be a real hero because we get fed a “hero-a-day”!

She Weeps for Us!

She Weeps for Us!

A week after the elections and we still don’t know the final results! Absentee ballots are not yet counted!!!

If the craziness and nastiness of election campaigns and the anxiety centering on the questionable results of local elections were not enough, our paid officials can’t even get their announcements right. It’s no wonder people don’t vote. But how can this country criticize other nations’ voting practices when our own is in such a sorry state?

For example, It’s now a week after the November 3, elections, and the final results are not posted (absentee ballots are STILL not counted).

The Greene County Board of Elections, Marie Metzler  (mmetzler@discovergreene.com) and Brent Bogardus (bbogardus@discovergreene.com), commissioners, can’t even decide whether the results on the Greene County Board of Elections website are “Official” or “Unofficial”. Who would think to look on the Green County Employee Info page for the November 3, 2015, “Official”/”Unofficial” election results, anyway. And they don’t tell us when the results, official or unofficial, will be final.

The Greene County Board of Elections page link reads: “Official Election Results/November 3, 2015” but the link goes to “Unofficial” results and those unofficial results are on the “greeneemployeeinfo” page. Go figure! And we trust those guys with running our elections?

When will they decide? Official or Unofficial?

When will they decide? Official or Unofficial?

And we mentioned last week that we expected the Albany County Board of Elections to be dragging their feet. Commissioners Matthew J. Clyne (D) and Rachel L. Bledi (R) don’t bother to provide their e-mail addresses. Do you think they’re interested in hearing from you about the outrageous delay in getting absentee ballots counted and the final results out? Coeymans will have to wait until after November 13, 2015, to learn the results. (Well, the good news is you still have time to leave town!) By the way, that’s Friday the 13th. Does that give the results away?

Albany will Count the Coeymans Absentee Ballots on Friday the 13th!

Albany will Count the Coeymans Absentee Ballots on Friday the 13th!

What’s the delay?!?!

We know Albany County is a Democrap sumphole and is run by a bunch of political machine backroom cronies, but really, do they actually need 10 days to count and tally absentee ballots? Where are we anyway? In Afghanistan?

Our Board of Elections will Let Us Know our Fate on Friday the 13th.

Our Board of Elections will Let Us Know our Fate
on Friday the 13th.

Be Afraid. Be VERY Afraid!
But there’s still time to leave town, people!

It never ceases to amaze us how Ravena and Coeymans seem to wallow in their own sewerage — sometimes literally — when it comes to putting local wannabes and losers on the election ballots. This time around, though, the town of Coeymans seems to have outdone itself with its scatological selection of dolts, crooks, and recycled losers. What is wrong with Coeymans? Why is it Coeymans can’t find anyone to run without a laundry list of unlawful conduct, corrupt practices and outright crookery? Let’s have a look at what Coeymans has put on its plate of “Let’s have crow for dinner”.

Albany County & Coeymans Run A Bunch of Losers

Albany County & Coeymans Run A Bunch of Losers

Tom Dolan: We might as well start with this king of the loser wannabes. Dolan has a long history of non-performance but is a major backstabber waffler. Dolan is right there when the spotlight is on someone else and he’s ready to make some stupid comment he thinks will make him shine but only exposes his absolute ignorance and stupidity. But he’s chairman of the Coeymans democrap committee and he can choose and endorse democrap candidates for public office in the Coeymans communities. That’s sick!

Tom Dolan is Coeymans’ answer to Ravena’s Bill Bailey

Just his short-term history will give you an idea of who this vulture is: Remember Dolan’s voter registration scandal he created from his Choices program office? We do. He was allegedly using his position as director of the Choices program to “encourage” recipients to register a certain way-in support of Dolan’s ambitions, obviously. It was sort of buy-a-vote for benefits. Is that what we need in town government? Dolan was there for renaming Coeymans “Reubenville“; in other words he prostituted the town of Coeymans for a roast beef sandwich. He didn’t care how ridiculous it made the community appear. He got a fistful of coupons for free sandwiches (no record was ever kept of the hundreds of coupons and where they went). Actually, when we think of dithering dolts, Tom Dolan is Coeymans’ answer to Ravena’s Bill Bailey!

Dolan also lost his bid for a seat in the New York State Senate. It wasn’t just a loss, it was a political disaster.

Dolan and his cronies were key in selling out to Carver Companies and letting Carver Laraway rape the community, get tax breaks and make millions at the community’s and the environment’s expense. We’d like to know where the DEC and the EPA was when all that was going on; or where the DEC and the EPA are now that all of the crap is running into the Coeymans Creek. It sure makes a difference when and where the DEC and EPA show up when you have the likes of Tom Dolan, Larry Conrad, Jerry Deluca, Gregory Darlington and other vermin on your side, doesn’t it?

Is Laverne “Larry” Conrad, Coeymans Code Enforcement Officer, A Key Here?

Remember...

Remember…Time is running out.

It would be salvific if Mr Conrad, as he approaches death, were to consider confessing his involvement in so many corrupt and damning transactions and conspiracies; if Mr Laverne “Larry” Conrad were to come clean, seek absolution, and reconciliation with those, to whom he has caused so much suffering, he may find some redemptive merit in also bringing those whose guilt he shares, by exposing them, to seek forgiveness and peace. That would be a very meritorious Christian final gesture on Mr Conrad’s part, and a contribution to making this a better world before he leaves it, before he comes face-to-face with his creator and judge. How about it, Mr Conrad? If you want to schedule an appointment with a chaplain, just write confidentially to rcs.confidential@gmail.com.

The Carver, DEC, EPA, Coeymans Deals

The Carver, DEC, EPA, Coeymans Deals

And where are all those jobs that were created to convince the stupids in Coeymans and the corrupt EPA to give Laraway and his Carver Companies license to rape the environment and create new dangers for residents with increased heavy truck traffic and dust, Dust, DUST! Thanks Dolan!

Not only that, here we have Dolan’s own wife, My Lin Dolan, suing the town of Coeymans for a nose injury the clumsy cow sustained on town property. That’s how Dolan stewards the town of Coeymans’ interest: his wife sues the town. In a document dated September 1, 2015, from Dolan’s attorney to the Town of Coeymans, the town is served with notice of Dolan’s claim. Dolan’s response: Everyone has the right to sue. But that response doesn’t apply to everyone, of course.

But Dolan’s real failure is in his role as chairman of the Coeymans democrap party. All that Dolan could come up with is a handful of loser political recycles: Phil Crandall, Youmans, Touchette, and of course, Dolan himself.

Youmans, Crandall, Dolan, Touchette

Youmans, Crandall, Dolan, Touchette

The best way we can say is to be found in some “confidential” papers that we have acquired and go back to former judge Phil Crandall’s problems with the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct, and which resulted in Mr Crandall’s resignation from his elected judgeship after only two years on the bench (He was elected to be a Coeymans town justice and also served as a part-time village of Ravena justice alongside his backstabbing colleague, Harold “Hal” Warner, husband of village of Ravena village hall harlot Nancy Warner). (Read the Times Union report, “Coeymans town justice resigns amid charges“.)

It’s interesting to note that Crandall’s resignation was connected with favors he did for Dolan, Touchette and others while still a judge. Just as we’ve been writing and informing the community over the past 3 years, there are two classes of citizens in the town of Coeymans: those in the incest club and everyone else. As charter members of the Coeymans Incest Club (a.k.a. the Coeymanazis) Dolan, Youmans, Touchette and Crandall took care of one another and others until the water got too hot. You all know the saying, “No honor among thieves.” Well, the Dolan gang was living proof of the saying. Crandall may have done the favors but Dolan and Touchette certainly weren’t turning them down.

The examples we are providing below come directly from the Formal Complaint against Crandall filed with the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct and the “stipulation” of resignation in lieu of hearing signed by Crandall. By signing the stipulation Crandall agreed to resign all judicial offices he held and he also agreed never to run again for judicial office. You can certainly guess why he wanted to avoid a hearing at all costs, can’t you? If there were a hearing an awful lot of rats would be jumping ship or would be shipped downstate to enjoy the hospitality of the New York State Corrections system.

But All Three Freaks are Alive

But All Three Freaks are Alive

Charge I of the Complaint involves Crandall and Richard “Dick” Touchette’s son, Jeffrey, who was charged with failure to stop at a stop sign. According to the documents, Crandall met Tochette “at church” (“At church” no less! That could only be at St Patrick’s RC of Ravena. Talk about hypocrits!), where Touchette discussed with Crandall Touchette’s son’s pending court appearance. At the time, Gregory Teresi was village attorney, and his practice was to “plea bargain” friends’ tickets to parking tickets (a fine of $25.000, but that wasn’t good enough for Touchette or for Crandall, Crandall had it fixed to be an ACOD, adjourned in contemplatin of dismissal. The Commission found that to be in violation of the Constitution and in violation of Judiciary Law. In other words, Richard “Dick” Touchette, now running for County Legislature, unlawfully met with then judge Crandall to get his son’s moving violation fixed. Is Touchette or Crandall the kind of people we need in government? We say NO!

Charge II of the Complaint describes a second incident, and involves Crandall’s brother-in-law, James A. Albano, who was ticketed for an uninspected vehicle. Again, Gregory Teresi was involved. When Albano appeared in court, Crandall dismissed the charge. The Commission found that Crandall acted unethically and unlawfully by knowingly hearing the case of a close relative, his brother-in-law (Crandall is married to Albano’s sister), finding that Crandall granted a “lenient dispostion” to a relative, and so violated the Constitution and Judiciary Law.

Charge III of the Complaint involves candidate for re-election to the Town of Coeymans town council, Mr Thomas E. “Tom” Dolan, who is also Coeymans democrap committee chairman, who got Youmans and Touchette on the ballot! The Commission notes that Dolan was charged with and ticketed by a state trooper for speeding (78 mph in a 65 mph area). The case was to be heard in Coeymans court. The problem is Crandall should not have been involved to hear the case because Dolan was on the town council at the time and the Coeymans town council determined Crandall’s salary; there was a serious conflict of interest involved. Dolan appeared before Crandall and Crandall accepted Gregory Teresi’s “plea bargain” to change the ticket to a parking ticket ($25.00 fine). The Commission found Crandall guilty of violation of the Constitution and of Judiciary Law.

Coeymans seems to have outdone itself with its scatological selection of dolts, crooks, and recycled losers as candidates for public office!

clueless is no excuse

Charge IV of the Complaint involves Crandall misusing his judicial office to intervene in a dispute between local police-former chief Gregory “Duplin'” Darlington and Gerald “Dirty Hands Jerry” Deluca were all involved in this one. The Complaint reports that Deluca entered Crandall’s daughter’s, Jena Crandall, residence without a warrant and searched the place, which got Crandall’s “son-in-law”, Anthony Walsh, in a huff. Crandall improperly used his position as town judge to intervene and to try to get the Coeymans police to apologize to avoid a lawsuit. The Commission found this to be a violation of the Constitution and of Judiciary Law. Crandall misused is office to influence the police.

The papers include certified transcriptions of the telephone conversation between Crandall and Darlington, parts of which we found to be very interesting in terms of Crandall’s relationship with Mr Stephen Flach, Coeymans town supervisor. Somehow these statements don’t really make you comfortable with the guy’s character. Here are a couple:

CRANDALL: “…I think we can makethis all go away…This is all Steve Flach and his horde need to try to eliminate the police department again and I don’t want that.”
CRANDALL:–And I don’t want this. I don’t want any of this to go any further than here. I just want you to take care of it.”
DARLINGTON: “…And I don’t understand what — how this has to do with civil rights or Flach wanting to get rid of the police department.”
CRANDALL: “No, I’m just afraid. I’m afraid that he’ll use something like this with his dominions.”
DARLINGTON: “Mm-hmmm…”
CRANDALL: “He’ll pack a town board meeting and start raising hell, and I don’t want that.”
DARLINGTON: “Right.”
CRANDALL:”Because I want our police department.”
DARLINGTON: “Mm-hmmm…”
CRANDALL: “…Just think of how you would feel if this happened to your daughter or son-in-law.”

Well, having read the transcript, we can’t say we agree with Crandall, even if the Coeymans police department at the time was a bunch of ignorant, corrupt thugs. It appears that once the corruption was removed from the town court and from the police department, Mr Flach’s police department is running perfectly. We have a law enforcement professional in Chief P.J. McKenna who is doing a stellar job. The Coeymans police department is still there but it’s doing its job professionally. Any other questions Mr Crandall? Seems that was a very bad call, Mr Crandall. You lose again!

We have a law enforcement professional in Chief P.J. McKenna who is doing a stellar job

We also have some off-the-record information from the village of Ravena. It seems that former mayor John Bruno wanted Phil Crandall to be a village/town justice so that he, Crandall, could be elected to be Coeymans town supervisor. Apparently, Bruno and his minions felt that if Crandall were elected to that position, the village would have a chance to take over Coeymans. The plan sounds so crazy its believable given the history of Bruno’s minions, Nancy Warner, Hal Warner, Kathy and “Dirty-Hands-Jerry” Deluca and the Darlingtons, and their minions!

Here we have local elected officials conspiring together to abuse the trust the public put into them when they were elected. They’re asking for and getting favors from insiders, something none of us can do. But these are just a couple of the incidents. We’ve already published information on local officials getting special favors for their kids’ drug and vehicular offenses from the Deluca-Darlington police department and from local judges. Cathy Deluca lied to a police investigator (Jason Albert) and obstructed justice, misdemeanors at least, but the Deluca-Darlington police department refused to investigate.

While former Ravena mummy-mayor Bruno and Nancy Warner may have been prepping Crandall to be Coeymans town supervisor, Crandall obviously gave favors to the wrong people and his own turned on him (Hal and Nancy Warner), forcing him to resign or go to hearing. A hearing was out of the questions because it would have opened the floodgates for investigations into Ravena government and the cat would have hit the fan.

You can make all the excuses you want for Crandall but the bottom line is that he’s unfit for elected office as Coeymans town supervisor.

That brings us to Tom Dolan and his picks for democrap candidates, Dick Touchette and Youmans. Touchette was a member of the Coeymans town board in 2011 but lost his bid for re-election in 2011. He campaigned alongside Crandall in 2011. Touchette lost the election in 2011. Our question is what has changed to make Dolan think this community wants the likes of Touchette back in 2015? Is that the best democrap chairman Dolan can do for Coeymans is to offer another loser to the community for election? So, when Youmans and Touchette lost the elections, they decided they would retaliate by pushing to terminate health benefits for elected officials! Of course, Mr and Mrs Crandall backed them all the way. They’re an example of the good church-goin’ Christian hypocrites swarming at St Patrick’s RC in Ravena!

Dolan, Crandal, Youmans, Touchette, Masti, Miller

And isn’t it odd that John Bruno (former mayor of Ravena), Phil Crandall (former village and town justice), “Dirty-Hands Jerry” Deluca (former Coeymans cop), Cathy Deluca (former 3x failed healthclub manager), Gregory Darlington (former Coeymans police chief), Gregory Teresi (former village attorney), Joseph Teresi (former NYS court judge) were all shown the door at about the same time. Is there some connection with “Leave or Go to Jail”? Did those exits signal an end to decades of corruption? How is it that Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares has lasted this long? He should be the next dumpy dolt to go!

In an article several months ago, we informed our readers that Touchette is director of the diocesan cemeteries. Look around Ravena and Coeymans; they’ve turned into virtual graveyards. Maybe Mr Dolan wants a professional graveyard manager in office so that cemetery management principles can be applied to Ravena and Coeymans, to Albany County. Well, so far Mr Touchette and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany haven’t managed any resurrections in the graveyards so we don’t have very high hopes that Mr Touchette, if elected to the Albany County Legislature, will be very successful in bringing life back to dead communities. Or does Dolan simply want Touchette to manage the county and our communities like a big cemetery? It’s really scary but then its Halloween time, isn’t it? No thanks, Mr Dolan, Mr Touchette!

The Touchette Touch

The Touchette Touch

More examples of how Dick Touchette is a slippery worm: Does anyone remember back in 2008, the Town of Coeymans had received a Small Cities Grant in the amount of $750,000.00 and Mr Touchette, then town councilman Touchette, moved to refuse the grant. Mr Youmans, then town councilman Youmans, seconded the motion. Coeymans didn’t receive the money. Thanks Mr Touchette and Mr Youmans.

Does anyone remember the recent lawsuits brought against the town of Coeymans, Coeymans Recycling, TCI, D. Trickey brought by Clearwater, Coeymans Heritage Society, and several citizens. Richart Touchette was one of those going after the town of Coeymans and the other defendants in that lawsuit. Apparently Mr Touchette got cold feet and lost his environmental principles when Mr Dolan approached him to run for office and but his name stayed on the list of plaintiffs. Talk about a major waffler! Richard “Dick” Touchette has no balls when it comes to sticking with the issues. But one thing is abundantly clear, our resident cemetery manager, Dick Touchette, is against anything that will bring prosperity or apparent prosperity to Coeymans. He and Youmans killed the small cities grant and Touchette and his mob are trying to kill jobs in Coeymans. Well, what would you expect from Dick Touchette — all he knows is managing cemeteries and is more familiar with dead things.

ani_rotating skull

Wouldn’t it be better and make more sense to just rally residents to enforce environmental vision and public safety through local government and demanding that the EPA, DEC, and Corps of Engineers do their business fairly and uniformly, rather than being tools of corruption, killing local small businesses? Yeah. That might take some integrity and some balls, and none of the democrap candidates have that equipment.

Yup

Yup! I’m a waffler, a ball-less wonder!
Yes, I am.

(Touchette & Youmans)

And what about Jim Youmans? Another big-time loser. Youmans took office when firebug Henry Traver was indicted for arson and had to resign from the office of Coeymans town supervisor. Legend has it that Youmans was such a vile jerk that during executive session poor Henry Traver had to have the Coeymans police on site in order to ensure that Youmans didn’t hurt someone (probably Henry). Youmans is a really poor excuse for an electable candidate. His inability to be a team player and the fact that he’s a schoolyard bully are big negatives and should keep him out of public office. And did you know that Youmans is a used car salesman? Really! He’s a used car salesman and we all know the reputation of the legendary used car salesman, don’t we? Well, Youmans gave the used car salesman of jokes galore the poor reputation they have. Do we need a used car salesman on the town board? Or the likes of Youmans? Hell NO!

Well, there you have it in a nutshell. The democrap choices for local government. Mr Dolan has no record to speak of except failures and absolutely no skills in town government. He’s proved also that he is a failure when it comes to choosing candidates for the democrap slate this November. We’ve shown above that Dolan’s choices have all been on the take in the past. What’s worse still is that Dolan’s democrap loser’s club are exactly those characters who played roles in exposing Coeymans supervisor candidate Phil Crandal’s corruption. What more needs to be said?

Well, there is more and that more is about “Matt-the-Mutt” Miller’s bid for election to the Albany County Legislature. We have a lot to say about that weasel’s arrogance and corruption and his history of abuse of his teacher’s job, his double-dipping, his questionable allegiances, and his overall crookery and corruption. It’s unimaginable that he would have any support in his bid for election but that support is likely coming from NYSUT, the teachers union. Matt Miller is the union’s bitch in RCS. He’ll be the teachers union’s bitch in the Albany County Legislature, where he’ll continue is unethical practices and corruption. More on the “Mutt”in our next article.

Our Advice: Stay Away from the Give-it-Away Party, the Democraps!

RCS Communities Mourn a Special Son

On July 20, 2015, suddenly, unexpectedly a special son of the RCS community for more than 75 years was summoned home; a colorful, memorable, well-liked, loved and respected member of the RCS community, Rodney A. Krzykowski, died but he left an American legacy and true meaning for those of us who are still able to know the American pioneer spirit when we see it. Rodney will be truly missed by many of us. He should be missed by all of us.

In fact, you can thank Rodney Krzykowski for this Blog! This very blog owes its existence to Rodney Kryzkowski. Think back to 2012, when the crooks, conspirators and special-interest lackies (James Latter, Howard Engel, Alice Whalen, Joe Tracey, Josephine O’Connor, Matt Miller, the RCS Sports Association, and the nefarious Delucas, Cathy and Dirty-Hands Jerry) were ambushing and backstabbing, and lying their way into controlling the RCS school board and the $42,000,000+ budget. This blog was started to defend Rodney and to expose the crooks and conspirators for what they were. That was three years ago and we’re still going strong, thanks to Rodney and the raw deal the crooks were handing him.

RodneyK_FrameRodney Krzykowski was a man of few words but those words held incredible meaning. He was an honest man, a man who shot from the hip with deadly accuracy, as many of the members of the RCS board of education, like Mr James Latter, Mr Howard “Bray” Engel, Ms Alice Whalen and others too numerous to name, learned very quickly and have the scars to prove it. Rodney was intelligent and did the math before he opened his mouth, unlike the current Latter board, and when he spoke, he made sense; he never learned double-speak.

Rodney embodied a very rare pioneer spirit and didn’t have very much use for government or the crooks government seems to attract and feed. He was brilliant when it came to researching even arcane subjects and doing his homework. Unlike most of our elected officials and public employees, Rodney thrived on intellectual challenges;if it was out there, he’d find it, and when he did Watch out! Town of Coeymans. Most of the local sheeple tended to condemn him on unsubstantiated misinformation spread by the local incest clubs. Surprised? Unlike Rodney, everyone else had something to say about his politics but none of them really knew anything at all about him or his politics. We did, though, and we must admit that he was on to something, not a fanatic or an anarchist, but a true crusader, a man whose principles guided him, and a man who thumbed his nose to ass-kissers and clique-members. When you spoke to Rodney, you had an instinctual perception that the man was special, honest, had a pioneer integrity that is almost extinct these days.

dove with olive branch

Rodney was a mechanical genius. He loved his cars and he loved racing them. Yes, Rodney raced stock and modified his cars himself, frequently creating machinery to get a job done. If something needed customizing he could conjure up an apparatus to do it. Makes you wonder that he never went the patent route with his creations; the man could have been a millionaire.

Yes, he could have been very comfortable but he preferred to remain simple and work for what he had. If you knew Rodney, you would have to agree with us that you would find it very difficult to find anyone who was a harder worker than he. The man never stopped.

Whether with friends — he was always welcome in many local homes — hanging out in local automotive shops, or at the Medway Café, where you could find hm regularly, he was quiet, minded his own business, but was always available if you wanted to chat. In fact, there was no one still living who knew more about local property histories, businesses, families, and government than Rodney Krzykowski. If you needed to know anything about the property that is now the Port of Coeymans or Don Trickie’s escapades, you’d ask Rodney. He could tell you what was there, what’s still there, who put it there and, if it’s not there anymore, where it went.

tail between legs_looking rightRodney was also an avid history buff and could talk your ear off about the Constitution, the developmental history of taxation, property laws, and the list goes on. He scared the living bejeebers out of local officials, lawyers, judges, because they were ignorant of most of what Rodney had spent years researching. Most local officials rely on an ignorant community and they have their way with the poor bastards; Not with Rodney K! He’d send those dirty dogs packing with their cruddy tails between their legs. We need more Rodneys to keep things kosher in town and village halls.

Rodney owned a tavern and most recently RAK Tire Recovery and the former R.K. Winners Circle. He was not only a businessman and entrepreneur but active in community organizations, too. He was a member of the Ravena Grange and the County Grange and was elected to serve on the RCS board of education. He even raced stock cars at Lebanon Valley for many years.

Rodney was a self-made man, a good man, a generous friend. We are deeply saddened by the way his death was hushed by his family, and how his community was deprived of the opportunity to grieve his death, how Rodney’s friends and admirers were deprived of the opportunity to mourn the loss of a friend and model citizen. We were outraged by the pitifully scant obituary that was tucked away, almost invisible, in a Sunday Times Union. Rodney deserved better, much better. In fact, quite a number of Rodney’s friends and acquaintances were shocked and offended that he was disposed of like a box of old newspapers. A number of those friends and acquaintances even offered to chip in a couple of hundred dollars each to cover a proper viewing and funeral but Rodney’s daughters allegedly wanted to make quick work of it all — the Babcock Funeral Home of Ravena (NY) — a real monopoly in the Ravena area, big prices small productions — , known for its sloppy service, probably didn’t do much to help the general situation.

But the well-hidden, cheapo obituary did announce that Rodney’s memorial service was to be held on

Saturday, August 1, 2015
at 11:00 a.m. at the
Trinity United Methodist Church
Coeymans Hollow

We hope that everyone who knew Rodney will be there to show their support for this fine man, and to show that true American pioneer spirit still has a place in our decrepit culture. Let’s see how Trinity United Methodist will manage to appropriately and fittingly celebrate Rodney’s life; are they up to the task? (See Editor’s Note.)

Editor’s Note: The turnout at Trinity United Methodist Church for Rodney’s memorial service was standing room only. Rev. Meager rushed the actual service a bit and the hymns could have been a bit more energetic but overall the event was a fine tribute. The Grange did a beautiful tribute, and the eulogies spoke only well of Rodney and his contributions to the community. It was a proper tribute to a fine man, and we’d like to thank the community for showing up and doing Rodney proud.

Rodney,
You grew in wisdom, age, and grace and learned through suffering.
May the Lord bless and keep you.
May choirs of angels welcome you and lead you into paradise,
May the martyrs come to welcome you
and take you to the holy city,
the new and eternal Jerusalem,
where you may find respite in the bosom of Abraham;
where Lazarus is poor no longer,
where every tear is wiped away.

There may you find eternal peace.

StJohnsAshfield_StainedGlass_GoodShepherd

We’ll remember you, Rodney.

Trouble in Paradise? Somebody Gave Mayor Misuraca the Horns! How Safe is Your Home?

We’ve been quiet for a couple of weeks, taking a bit of a break from the nauseating work of watching Ravena, Coeymans, and New Baltimore self-destruct. We’ve also been hoping in vain that some things would change once Misuraca and Warner took a break from monitoring this blog. Well, as we expected, nothing positive has happened, it only got worse.

Some food for thought…

Several days ago there was a house fire in the hamlet of Coeymans. The fire fighters attempted to use a nearby fire hydrant but couldn’t; it was too rusted and wouldn’t deliver. They had to haul ass farther down Rt 144 to find a hydrant that would work. What do you think about that? How much $$$ do we need to ensure our fire-safety in Ravena-Coeymans?

Hydrant-in-a-Body-Bag You'll find a number of these in and around Ravena; also some that are so rusted they can't be used! Some don't work at all!!!

Hydrant-in-a-Body-Bag

You’ll find a number of these in and around Ravena; also some that are so rusted they can’t be used! Some don’t work at all!!!

So we’d like to ask Mr Mayor “Mouse” Misuraca, Ravena village trustee Nancy Warner, and fitness bimbo Cathy Deluca whether Ravena needs a Heaps and Fatness Center or fire hydrants that work. Don’t you think that the $6,000 the Ravena Health and Fitness Center is losing every month could be better spent on ensuring the community’s safety? The whole community, that is, and not a handful of mouthy post-menopausal morons. Why don’t you ask Mr Mayor or Ms Warner or Ms Deluca what their priorities are? Couldn’t the more than $100,000 in the Ravena village budget for the Heaps and Fatness clowns be better spent on ensuring our fire hydrants are in working order, instead of wrapping them in body bags telling us they can’t be used? And what about the dozens of others that aren’t working but don’t get marked. Yes! We’ve received information from a reliable source that there are at least 8 other hydrants in the village that should be replaced! Next time you’re out in your neighborhood, why not check the condition of your hydrants. But take a barf bag with you; you’ll probably need it because the situation will make you sick! While Nancy Warner is peeing down your legs and telling you it’s ice-water, maybe she’s going to squat over the next house fire with her clown friends Cathy Deluca, Michelle Robbins, Christine Schnyder, Rowena DeDade, and Tony-the-Hose Ricciardi and wife Cathy, and smother it with bullshit?!?! You don’t need a half-brain to figure out the priorities in this community but Mr Misuraca and Ms Warner don’t seem to be able to do that. And clowns like Robbins, Schnyder, DeDade and the Ricciardi bunch haven’t got a clue; they talk community etc. but don’t know their arses from their elbows! Let’s dump the Fatness Center and put the money to better use rather than padding Cathy Deluca’s already amply padded bottom!

Burning-House

But what’s really hilarious is that the News Herald recently reported that Cathy Deluca’s partner, that useless-heap-of-walrus-excrement Dirty-Hands Jerry Deluca, who left the Coeymans Police Department with his darling Gregory “Dumplin'” Darlington — word on the street is that they had to leave or be prosecuted — to take a job with the lobbyists at the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs, returned recently to Ravena-Coeymans, allegedly instructing local fire-fighters. What was he instructing them in? No, not how to be a dirty cop. And No! Not how to cook a résumé. YES! How to wrap defunct fire hydrants, of course! Now if that isn’t ironic tell us something that is.

Well, Ravena and Coeymans residents and property owners you really have to start talking about this situation and doing something about it. You see, once your insurance companies get wind of this … Well, either you won’t have insurance or your rates are going to go through the roof. Maybe you’ll think about this when your house or your neighbor’s house is belching smoke. But then that will be a bit late, won’t it?

Who Gave Ravena Mayor William “Mouse” Misuraca the Horns?

That’s our first question. We had no idea mice could grow horns but they do in Ravena. Ravena Mayor Misuraca, Mayor “Mouse” has gotten the horns. Now there’s real word-play for a mayor of Italian descent! But it’s true.

Yup! Just look at the Ravena Mosher Park sign: Misuraca got the horns!

Yup! Just look at the Ravena Mosher Park sign: Misuraca got the horns!

You really have to wonder about this guy, Misuraca. He’s like an immature adolescent and has no ethics, it seems. Nor does he have any shame. Shouldn’t Ravena’s municipal signs have a little more dignity or should even the signs be an embarrassment to the good people of Ravena.

It seems Misuraca can’t get control of village hall but sure can play his childish games at taxpayer expense. Who authorized the little ego trip for Mayor “Mouse” and put the horns on the “Moose.” Doesn’t anyone have any sense of dignity? Doesn’t anyone have any idea of what it means to give a man the horns? Ask any Italian! Apparently Mayor Misuraca can’t think that far.

moose horns

Mayor “Mouse” Misuraca Got the Horns!

And then there’s the question of who paid for the mayor’s ego trip? Let’s FOIL the bills for the signs and see what it cost.

But that’s a drop in the bucket when you consider how Misuraca is still dicking around with Nancy Warner and Cathy Deluca and the money pit Ravena Health and Fitness Center.

It makes you physically sick when you read the Ravena News Herald and Bryan Rowzee’s ass-kisser reports. Two or three locals show up to plead for the Fitness Center, even one from Selkirk who’s stupid enough to pay non-resident dues to play with Cathy-the-Crook and her minions. That bimbo from Selkirk pays about 3-times what she’d have to pay if she joined Planet Fitness about the same distance away! Need we say more? DUH!!!

News Herald “reporter” Bryan Rowzee has to play nice-nice with Ravena village hall and report all the right stuff; Rowzee’s wife works in the Ravena building department! Can’t rock the boat that pays the bills. Right?

But Rowzee’s got to keep on the good side of Ravena village hall and Nancy Warner, Cathy Deluca’s backer in village hall, because Rowzee’s wife works in the Ravena building department, and obviously, if Rowzee doesn’t play nice-nice with Warner and Deluca, his wife might get her walking papers and Rowzee would end up having to get a real job. But where would he do that? Yeah. So Rowzee keeps feeding local readers the smoke-and-mirrors reports and doesn’t quite get to the meat and potatoes of how bad it is in Ravena village hall.

Now, we’re not saying that Christine Schnyder of Ravena or Michelle Robbins of Selkirk are, in reality, really stupid; it may just be the way Bryan Rowzee chose to quote them or the parts of their statements he chose to include in his article that make them appear and sound really stupid. We do find it pitiful that Michelle Robbins has to find her “second home” at the crumby Ravena Health and Fitness Center. Really, Michelle, you need to go into therapy and/or find a real life, girl! Rowena DeDade certainly hit the nail on the head when she is quoted as saying that the Fitness Center has a “personal touch and a community feeling.” Yes, Rowena, you are lonely and need a friend, but that sort of “personal touch” will give you a creepy disease and the “community feeling” you get you can get at the local bar, too…like the Halfway House, run by your mayor!

It’s questionable whether Rowzee was interviewing the local psychiatric population out on day-pass but if he is quoting Schnyder, Robbins and DeDade as the voice of the people, we have to ask the people of what planet? Robbins seems to think that the Fitness Center “draws a wider population to the village and its businesses.” If that were true, then the Fitness Center would have enough members to keep it out of the red…It does not. And WHAT LOCAL BUSINESSES, Michelle???? Are you nutz? There are no more local businesses of any interest to any “wider population.” That convinces us that you are REALLY, REALLY stupid!

Tony Ricciardi and his wife Cathy seem to think that traveling to Delmar to go to Planet Fitness would keep them from supporting local businesses. Well, we’d like to let Tony and Cathy in on a little secret: Planet Fitness is not in Delmar and hasn’t been for quite a few years now. The place closed about 5 years ago when the Glenmont club got up and running at full steam. Well, so much for Tony and Cathy and their credibility. Let us know when you wake up, Tony, and become aware of what’s going on around you. Like you’re real believable: You don’t even know where planet fitness is!!! (Why didn’t Bryan Rowzee, pathetic little wannabe reporter that he is, catch that little gem?)

So there you have it: Three hormonally and metabolically challenged, lonely locals telling the rest of the community that they want their little therapy group and we can all pay for it. And then you have the Dizzy-Pair, Tony and Cathy, who are not quite aware of what’s going on around them. They all want it their way and want the rest of us to pay for it. Now, back to Mayor “Mouse” and his merry band of rats…

Mayor Misuraca and others on the board note that the Fitness Center is fiscally irresponsible and is not attracting the PAYING members it needs to support itself. Of course, Nancy Warner, one of the crooks who was instrumental in getting the thing installed by some very suspicious behind-closed-doors manipulations and deals, can’t back down and will come up with any asinine response to keep it (If she loses this baby, it’s likely the dam will burst on her unlawful activities and she’s dead in the water). Let’s face it, there have been a number of instances in the past two years where insiders got thrown in and turned on their cronies. There’s no honor among thieves. If Nancy were to to the responsible honest thing and admit it’s a dead fish, Cathy Deluca and hubby, Dirty-Hands Gerry Deluca, formerly of the Coeymanzi Police Department, will likely turn on her and…Well, you know the rest of the story. Nancy Warner’s up to her neck in Fitness Center doo-doo, right up to the point where they’ll put the noose if she doesn’t watch her step. Must be horrible living life having to look over your shoulder and not being able to trust anyone. Ask Nancy Warner.

So, if Mayor “Mouse” and his merry band of rats have a majority that feel the Fitness Center is a poor investment, losing money, not keeping its head above water, we have to ask the question: WHY IS IT STILL THERE? WHY HAVEN’T YOU CLOSED IT YET MISURACA?

There was a glimmer of hope, though, when two weeks ago Ravena Mayor “Mouse” Misuraca got his horns locked with Nancy Warner at a public session of the Village of Ravena village board meeting. You’d almost think he had a pair, wouldn’t you?

Our question is this, after seeing Mayor “Mouse” on the front page of the Ravena News Herald with an Eagle Scout: How hypocritical can you get when you are allowing crooks to run your village hall departments, when you knowingly waste more than $6,000 a month on a money pit like the Ravena Health and Fitness Center, and you can still occupy the same space as an Eagle Scout? Where are that scout’s parents, we’d like to know.

BUT HERE’S THE REAL STORY WE’RE WORKING ON….

You’ll recall how we recently published a story on how the Ravena Village Board attempted to dump a member of the Ravena Planning Board without consulting anyone, not even the president of the Planning Board. It’s come out Why? they tried and failed to oust that member and How? it’s really coming back to bite them. Here’s how…

We have been provided with a Notice of Claim against the Village of Ravena that has been served on Mayor “Mouse” and his cronies for attempting to illegally tamper with the Planning Board and to mess with the member they tried to get to resign for all the worst — and wrong — reasons. We’ll be publishing that Notice of Claim and commenting on it very soon, probably this weekend! The town of Coeymans was also served with a Notice of Claim because of the number of moles in Coeymans town government who report to Ravena village hall (but we’re not going to mention Tom Dolan’s name yet).

But that’s not all. We’ve also obtained papers on the operations of the Ravena Building Department and one Mr Sandy Debacco, Village of Ravena building inspector, who is also working for the town of Coeymans and for the Albany County Airport! The fact that Mr Debacco doesn’t have to eat or sleep but can hold three jobs isn’t so surprising; quite a few village employees do the same thing but no one but us seems to read the documents, because it’s very difficult to even verify they exist. But crooks can run but they can’t hide! Remember our article on the disclosure of all those village of Ravena employees’ personal information, including social security numbers? It does get worse.

This story surrounds the pattern of retaliation against village residents and property owners that was a hallmark of the John Bruno reign of incompetence and terror and, it appears, is still a part of Ravena’s agenda, continuing under the current bartender mayor, William “Mouse” Misuraca under the supervision of his madam-in-waiting, Nancy Warner, a relic of the Bruno reign. The story is a story about retaliation and incompetence, that’s for sure. But it also exposes how the village of Ravena and those in village hall take care of their own and to hell with the rest of you! What makes it so tantalizing is that it’s all in black and white, we have the documents. And it involves fraud, too.

Our story has all of the trappings of a good detective novel: Dirty government, corruption, conspiracy, fraud, money, favors. You name it! And you’ll get to read it all right here.

Stay tuned!
