Stupidity, Denial, Coeymanazis and Silly String

Greed, Corruption, Denial, Coeymanazis…Actually, Simplemindedness May Be the Real Key to RCS’s Decline.

Claudia Verga “Sillystringed”
Model of Adult Behavior
A.W. Becker Elementary School Principal

Are You Still Wondering That Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Is a Losers Club as a Community and as a District? Read on…

In my day, the school principal was a person who represented authority, was an important role model for students and even teachers, was a source of socialization. But that was before everyone and anyone could do anything and everything because everyone and anyone is his or her own person. And if it feels good you can do it. Look where that bullshit has gotten us as persons, families, communities, as a nation. Right down the crapper!

Note the Principal’s Defensive Posture!
Note the Aggression in the Children!
A Great Lesson…

So, I wasn’t all that surprised to have learned and read of the local principal who made a mockery of herself and became the incarnation of the stupid adult we have today. Where was that? At RCS A.W. Becker where principal Claudia Verga made herself the object of elementary school pupil’s disrespect and aggression by allowing herself to be publicly… SILLYSTRINGED!

Now, I really didn’t know what “sillystringed” meant so I had to get the link on, of course, FaceBook, and read the parents’ praise of this idiotic miscreant principal. But then, to my utter un-surprise there was a link to … the A.W. Becker Elementary School pages on the RCS Central School District official sites! They actually posted that lunacy, that stupidity, that fly-in-the-face of role model behavior on the official A.W. Becker site!

It would be an understatement if I were to say that I saw numerous negative undercurrents to such behavior in an adult at the hands of children. Worse still when it was an adult who should be playing a special adult role in these children’s lives…not that of a dunce or village idiot, not that of a playmate, but that of a positive role model!

Parent Teachers Association president Denise Hughes (After reading Hughes’ statements and recalling that the late superintendent of RCS schools, Elizabeth R. Smith, are all associated with the elementary school, I don’t much wonder!) says on the A.W. Becker site:

“The goal was if enough students participated in the annual fundraiser everyone would get a chance to silly string the principal,”

So that’s the “goal” at RCS elementary schools, is it?  Is that the incentive for young children and parents to get involved and participate in a school-associated  annual fundraiser? Is that what the A.W. Becker PTA is about: forget the social and moral education of the children and raise funds? (This seems to be a pattern in this district, all that they seem to be doing “for the kids” is raising funds. It’s turned into some sort of obscene adult game. When the adults in this district fail in every other way, it seems, they try to redeem themselve by “fundraising.” Hell raise funds, not kids! You GO! RCS!)

The clincher comes at the end of the article on the A.W. Becker Elementary School official site:

We used over 100 cans of silly string, and each student got a chance to spray her!,” added Hughes.

Now that’s something you can really be proud of! You used more than (NOT “over,” “more than” is the correct grammar when speaking of numbers–have I made my point?) 100 cans of silly string! Teach your kids waste, why don’t you? Teach your kids environmental sense, why don’t you? Teach your kids respect for adults, why don’t you? Teach your kids that where teachers and parents fail, there’s always fundraising

They Used More Than
100 Cans of This Stuff!

So, parents (and you idiot teachers and principals), here is what your kids are spraying on each other and on that moron principal at A.W. Becker Elementary School: The silly string foam and its skin come from three primary ingredients:

  • A resin forms the plastic structure of the strand. The original formula used polyisobutyl methacrylate, an acrylic resin. Acrylic resins are also components in materials like Lucite and Plexiglas.
  • A surfactant, or surface-active agent, helps the resin foam and modifies the stickiness of the strands. Wham-O’s patent lists sorbitan trioleate as its surfactant. You can see the foaming action of surfactants in ordinary detergents around your home, and you can learn more about them in How Play-Doh Works.
  • A propellant forces the other ingredients out of the aerosol can, causes them to foam and helps form the skin. The propellant described in the patent is dichlorodifluoromethane, also known as Freon-12. The Silly String manufactured today uses other propellants — (Freon-12 is an ozone depleting substance that is no longer manufactured.)

And then you can’t even fundraise on your own, you have to involve a third party, according to Denise Hughes:

She [Hughes]  also said the fundraising company, Believe Kids, would give them additional chances for more funding by having this culminating silly string activity.

Why, isn’t that precious, nice of the fundraising company, Believe Kids, they’re going to give you additional chances to make them money…IDIOT!

(Actually, I don’t get this fundraiser stuff. It seems to have become some sort of trademark of the economically and socially developmentally challenged simpletons in the area who have nothing better to do than to pick up pennies. It’s a really sad way to have to broadcast your community involvement and your identity. But what message is this emphasis on “fundraising” sending to the kids, I wonder. I’d ask that of some of our overpaid sillystring teachers if I thought they had the brains to answer intelligently.)

The last line in the A.W. Becker article reads: “Click on the photos to enlarge them.” I only wish I could click on the brains and enlarge them!

I’ve Been Sillystringed!
(Or is it bird shit?)
